I got to agree with previous responses, this forum is for discussions and if one's comment doesn't bump the thread then it will stay buried. New bump feature works fine on primary boards.
5422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Free ATH for everyone who has ETH! on: November 13, 2019, 02:44:08 AM
I came across an article where - Emin Gün Sirer, professor of distributed systems at Cornell, introducing Avalanche (AVA), a new crypto protocol that is described as a platform for platforms.

One such platform to run on AVA is Athereum(ATH), a friendly fork which basically replicates the ethereum network, including all account balances and contracts, onto the new network.

In many ways it’s similar to a chain-split where 1 eth is equal to 1 corresponding coin, in this case, 1 eth plus 1 ATH (athereum).

There is no chain-split however, there’s no contention or anything, but everyone who has eth gets ath. The reason is because they want to showcase the new protocol which is based on what is claimed to be an anonymous paper.

"It describes a new family of consensus protocols that combines the best of Nakamoto consensus with the best of classical consensus. Huge breakthrough,” Sirer said on May 17th 2018.

>> Question: Do we really get free ATH if we have ETH? Will it be same as ETH?

...

For me it is another trick to make money, nothing more.

They have to provide value to the coin or protocol or whatever (I didn't understand article much) first so they can make money. Exchanges don't come easy especially for new coins Grin

Discord community is losing hope (which is expected) and shutting their wallets down, if devs were to come back they would keep their wallets open to keep the project alive. Otherwise we are completely dead.

you mean you do really believe in this project yet?
it is almost a year that dev has gone in the wind and no news had came out
how could you stay here for so long !

I hope you were not an investor whom is facing loss now
i myself had been stepped out few month ago, not in ATH but still was in some profit

Yeah, I bought quite a bit but have gotten over it. I just mean that, chain is dead if there is no one running their wallets, if devs were to come back they would keep their wallets running.
5424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt-coins with practical use on: November 13, 2019, 02:27:45 AM
Never forget Dogecoin and Litecoin.

These coins are way better a payment if the fees are higher for the current altcoin that you use or even with bitcoin. There's also a contender in the name of Nano that has a fee less transaction. There's Dash which is the number 1 masternode coin and also Basic Attention Token which is the main coin of Braver browser.

I will go an extra mile. Why not use fee less coins then? Steem, eos, tron they offer free transactions albeit you have to lock some of your coins but they still remain in your custody.

5426  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Best wallet on: November 11, 2019, 03:35:01 AM
You may add magnum wallet to the list as well: https://magnumwallet.co, it's non-custodial multicoin wallet with many features including custom fees. Not open source though.
5427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You Counted Or Estimate All Your Losses And.... on: November 11, 2019, 03:25:18 AM
I have not, and I have no intentions to do it either, it will just disturb mental peace. One thing though, once you have realized gambling is not worth it, it's better to leave it.

But trust Indian court system,it will take at least 15 years to give a result to a case. Grin

...any exchange members who is following the case could update about this here on what their business plans are and what they are planning moving forward.

Probably, they would be waiting for verdict, if ban they will have to completely close their shop (including p2p, by which some exchanges are surviving) else they (and we) will rejoice.
5429  Other / Meta / Re: Post Deleted by Mods / by ourselves / By Self-moderated OP on: November 09, 2019, 04:32:49 AM
If your post get deleted my mod(s) then it should be taken somewhat seriously and you should try to figure out why.

Ignore if you get your post deleted from self moderated threads.

Avoid posting in garbage threads so you don't have to deal with whole thread thrashing by mods.
5430  Other / Meta / Re: How did you chosen ₿itcointalk username at the beginning of registrations? on: November 09, 2019, 04:25:18 AM
I made a thread on this but it didn't get much traction.

Quote
GTA 3 Liberty city was the first video game I played on PC. I was registering for some Indian forum, it asked me to setup username, my enlightened brain removed 'y' and choose username as 'libert', because liberty sounds like female name and I am male.

...and it has been my online alias ever since.

Then how come it's libert19? You might wonder.

I had account named 'libert' here but it got hacked in infamous bitcointalk hack and since it didn't have much activity I didn't bother to recover it and created new one. As I read some numerology, it said 1 and 9 numbers are good for me. So I settled with 'libert19'.
5431  Other / Meta / Re: Signature Campaigns causing lifeless posts in Gambling section on: November 09, 2019, 04:19:34 AM
Think of it like this way: a guided experience through gambling is almost certainly better than someone stumbling into their first gambling experience without any precautionary measures. /derail
In my opinion it's been steadily more difficult to start constructive topics in the Gambling and Bitcoin Discussion boards. Over the past year, I'd only thought up a noteworthy thread (that wasn't redundant) once, in regards to Bitcoin Discussion. In that sense, it's more of a survivor bias where you are finding solely spam posts because those that care about their posts seldom stoop to that level.
If the forum won't disable signatures in those discussion boards, I propose:

Stop counting posts made in any discussion board to users' postcounts and activities will stop spam-endemic. It is unrealistic to ask for more companies or managers of shit companies/ campaigns to control the post-quality of their participants. This is a very good solution, I think, because the forum and admin still want to give privileges to wear signatures (and get money) for good users.

Spammers will stop spam if their posts won't be counted. When they stop spamming (posts, topics), constructive posts/ topics will appear consequently.

Quite right, and these BMs have no reason to make efforts on stopping shitposting. Cryptotalk campaign campaign is causing huge spam on forum currently, but guess what these spam has what actually made it popular.
5432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: honest opinion on our future gaming platform project. on: November 08, 2019, 10:39:58 AM
Sounds really good, I suggest providing easy to reach tab where player can check the fairness of the game. I see many casinos saying we are provably fair but when you ask them how can I check the provability, they say it's on blockchain so it's fair!?

Also, easy swaps between altcoins to bits, you can deposit any crypto and play with bits. This will give player lots of options while also making things bit easy as betting is in bits.

Now, last one, if possible develop mendicot pvp card game. I am pretty sure, many of you might have never heard of this game, believe me it's hella fun!
5433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: November 07, 2019, 11:44:21 AM
I will answer, you can not redeem gold token for real gold, however for every gold token, equivalent amount of gold is stored in BullionStar wallet. Gold token's purpose is to act as an stablecoin, to help crypto people from market volatility.

That's correct, and has been my point all along.
It does beg the question however, what happens in the "Worst Possible Scenario"?
The WPS being that we wake up one morning and all the gold has been legally collected from the vault by Digital Gold Ltd. representatives on presentation of their Vault Certificate at the bullion office, and they've walked off down the street with it.
The current stock would fit in cabin luggage.
Remember, every gram of physical gold has already had 100% of its value realized by Digital Gold Ltd. by the sale of [GOLD] tokens, but they still retain legal and physical ownership and possession of it.
Cute.
What are the tokens worth in that scenario?
What is the smart contract worth then?
What do you, a token holder, do to track down the anonymous Digital Gold Ltd. team that "consists of highly skilled and experienced group of experts in finance, banking, legal, wealth management, IT and blockchain industry"?
Do you go to their registered office in the St Vincent and Grenadines? That's Suite 305 in the Griffith Corporate Centre, an address shared by many controversial companies?
Or do you phone their Hong Kong phone number, which runs on Central European Time?

You literally roasted me there mate, these are all legal questions you presented and I'd wait for gold team's response on that.

Gold token's purpose is to act as an stablecoin, to help crypto people from market volatility.

See, USD has nothing backing it up, it has value merely because of people's trust. God forbid, if USD loses it value then all USD stable coin owners will lose a lot, so if you want to hold your money into something that has real thing backing it then gold token can help.

Meanwhile, this project was created a couple of weeks back.

It's lot older than that, I myself have been doing Gold bounty since past three months.
5436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: November 06, 2019, 01:59:59 AM
Imho, instead of many small tier exchanges just few top tier ones will be better.

Dear libert19,

We are moving forward and developing our service. There is a lot of work ahead. Our team is doing everything gradually and directionally. We do not do an ICO and we don’t need to immediately spread info about the token and quickly raise funds. Our main priorities now are good service quality and instant accessibility to the token.

Regards,
Support Team @ Digital Gold
https://gold.storage (https://gold.storage)

I think people are expecting too much from the team which is the reason why they hardly view or examine the unique job and innovation done by the Gold token team cause it hard to see a project with no ICO,IEO, fund raising etc and able to provide a good liquidity, security and fast 24/7 market place done by the Gold token. But, I will like the team put the advice of Libert into consideration.

Dear hulla,

Usually people like when they can see development and serious team mood. It is much better to expect from the project what is written in its whitepaper.

Regards,
Support Team @ Digital Gold
https://gold.storage (https://gold.storage)

I understand that, if one think about it, there is really no need of exchanges, Digital Gold's own marketplace is simple, instant and works.

I said top tier exchange as it can help with visibility, that's it.
5437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to get EOS Wallet for Free? on: November 05, 2019, 10:56:42 AM
I would avoid freewallet at all costs, you don't even hold your crypto's private key there. Better be safe than sorry.

IMO, holding private keys is not the main point of a good wallet. My cryptos have been safe for several months with Freewallet.

It is, if freewallet is gone your funds are gone. If you don't own private key, you don't own the funds, anyway good luck.
5438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A view on hunters and crypto currency on: November 05, 2019, 10:51:11 AM
In late 2017, early 2018, hunters were rewarded really well but guess what almost none of those project is alive now.

The lack of ICOs these days is actually pretty healthy imo, most of them are just money grabbing schemes anyway.

The founder of Flybit Prayank Gahlot details his journey on building one of India's maverick bitcoin startup and then why it got shutdown

https://blog.blockonomics.co/what-happened-with-flybit-73ef2028ccb4

I remember communicating with him on his thread - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2023706.0. Would love to see him back on BitcoinTalk with some new project. More such entrepreneurs are required in Indian Crypto space.

@btc_enigma Love to see how you are shaping up blockonomics. Hopefully, you guys become a little more active on BitcoinTalk.

If Indian government gives green signal then such entrepreneurs will show up, current scenario is not very welcoming.
5440  Local / India / Re: [ANN] IndiaBits - The New Beginning to India's Crypto Community on: November 05, 2019, 10:36:19 AM
Looks like this IndiaBits.org forum did not really peak up. The real action is still on BitcoinTalk and in the IndiaBits TG group.

Correct, it's because forum has nothing extra useful to offer.
