5421  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Localcoin.is - Plagiarized Whitepaper on: April 25, 2019, 04:30:11 PM
Despite the warning, OP of the ANN then went ahead and opened up a bounty thread the next day even without responding to the accusation.
I have put up a warning in the bounty thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5135574

Not sure if Xterry is part of the team or just an announcer but seems to me he doesn't really care about his reputation in the forum.

SCAM ACCUSATION ALERT ⚠️

There is an open accusation against this project and the team has refused to resolve it: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5135210.0
Please do not advertise the project until they resolve the scam accusation or else you risk getting red tagged if you continue participating in their bounty.

5423  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bye Bye abusive trustfeedback on: April 25, 2019, 12:07:20 PM
Basing on your statements, looks like you really wish the trust system fails.
I am not saying it's a perfect system but with it in place, it's very helpful currently rather than if it was to be removed or if it failed.
People would no longer be trusted and trading, business and other deals would come to a halt in the forum which would not be a good thing for bitcointalk.
5424  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Verify short links before clicking on: April 24, 2019, 02:29:38 PM
It's a very important point OP. we have so many people creating guides here and Newbies can easily be tricked into clicking on malicious and phishing websites just because the links have either been shortened or have been masked using the forum's hyperlink insertion feature.
Members have to be pay so much attention to the links they visit.

2. Keep your Anti-Virus Version Upgraded!
never use anti-virus on my linux. i dont know it safe or not.
i have old pc 1 ram only when use that get lag for surfing
Using Linux doesnot mean that you will never get attacked one day. No system is safe from hackers.
It's just probably because Windows is a high priority for the hackers since it has so many users in it compared to other operating systems.
So it's better you have an AV in there.

5427  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ★ Be careful before joining a signature campaign ★ on: April 23, 2019, 11:41:56 AM
Just let it be. anyway the post were already burried dow. and you need to search for it of one is looking for a thread.

However, it is still good to keep all the users to be aware of the activities of the forum. There are newbies also reading the OP'S post and thinking very essential to all newbie.
The posts I am talking about are not buried and all are not more than a month old. Just check the first and second page of this board, you will find all of them there. No need to even use the search function.
And please, i have never been against keeping forum members aware of anything.

I think we already have so much of this type of topics already discussed lately here:
5429  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: LEDGER NANO S on: April 21, 2019, 11:52:33 PM
Hey, sorry, I wasn't able to directly help you as I am not so familiar with Zcash but I propose you move the topic to Hardware walletsBoard to get proper help.
The Move topic option is on the bottom left.
Cheers.

Not only privacy coins but one can also anonymize transactions using
- Mixer services
- Better Atomic swap platforms that don't require login such as coinswitch
- Traditional DEXs
5431  Other / Meta / Re: Leave negative feedback for Yobit spamming? on: April 21, 2019, 07:58:02 PM
This would make the much feared red tags so common in the forum and it would make them lose their credibility.
Imagine if red tags became a common thing in  the forum and people no longer cared about getting them. Scammers would just swarm in like never before with no limits.

I think we should be careful with the Negative trust thing and should only apply it when it's appropriate and very necessary.
5432  Other / Meta / Re: Raising from being banned. on: April 21, 2019, 06:46:10 PM
Very valid, you confirmed that you had been banned before and here you are evading the previous ban with a  new account
It Is possible to recover the banned account. I think I do spamming so I got banned. I try to appeal via email and no reply.

5433  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Your stupidity is opportunity for scammers! on: April 20, 2019, 07:46:52 PM
People with a get-rich-quick attitude are most likely to be scammed as they can easily be convinced by any profit making opportunity that is too good to be true.
The excitement of making so much money in a short period over shadows their reasoning capacity when a scammer presents them with a deceptive opportunity, and they end up spending all their money and life saving without any thoughts of things going South and the end result is loosing everything to the scammers.
5434  Other / Meta / Re: This account has 250 merit because... on: April 20, 2019, 09:39:33 AM
It's not merit abuse, the only logical reason is that the user was a senior member when the merit system was introduced, so he got airdropped 250 Merits but then later on, the user decided to massively delete his past posts probably because they were shitty posts and the number of activity also went down until it reached member level

How do you know they deleted their posts and got downgraded as opposed to them having the potential activity to be a senior member and that thus awarded them the merit...

If you look at  BPIP, there is no record of received merit by the user... it means that's just airdropped merit.

EDIT
Guess you already figured that out.
5435  Other / Meta / Re: My Account went from Junior to Newbie all by Itself on: April 19, 2019, 12:13:26 PM
I don't think anything got deleted. The OP is getting the red warning on their sent PMs ("this message is coming from a newbie" thing).
Yeah, you are right, there is no record of OP's post being deleted according to BPIP. All that's there is a password reset.

I think the warning message in the inbox is giving him/her chills  Grin
But all can change if OP worked a little hard to get atleast one merit.

Github profile is just 10 days old with only one commit, and they are already planning to ask for investors money in 4 days?

Anybody who would send money trying to buy such tokens would be a fool.
5437  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: LIME WALLET - Plagiarized Whitepaper on: April 18, 2019, 08:32:53 AM
You really need to make up your mind @Dontme, If you were promoting or just making an ANN for them then you need to draw a line whether to disassociate with them or associate with them or else your reputation is at stake here and once you get red tags from DT, it will be almost impossible to convince them to remove the tags so if I were you I would act very fast.
5438  Economy / Services / Re: [ANN] BTCANONMIXER.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler on: April 18, 2019, 07:23:43 AM
BTCANONMIXER.COM is the world's most trusted Bitcoin mixer (or tumbler) for making your transactions and digital assets anonymous and Private on the blockchain.
With all due respect and with no intention of trying to tint your ANN. I think this is exaggerated given that you service is still new in the game. If you want to win people's trust, you have to stay true and realistic.
Otherwise, site is good. Hopefully the Official Tor Mirror is availed soon too.
5439  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: LIME WALLET - Plagiarized Whitepaper on: April 17, 2019, 01:28:02 PM
<...>
So are a concerned member i just have a couple of questions
1. Are you affiliated to  the UPI Network?
2. If not, are they aware that you are using some of their WhitePaper draft content?
3. If not, I have tried to look at your Whitepaper again but i haven't seen any reference section or links acknowledging it to be part of UPI Network's Whitepaper. That should have bailed you out.

It does no harm to your project to acknowledge someone's work/content... do it?
