Just a heads up... watching OKCOIN btc/cny the rise has been on bad footing... i expect it to go lower and make new lows... you can take me to the bank with this.
So how do I cash in on this when you're wrong? Already happening... wanna bet on it? escrow? 500 BTC ok and Theymos as escrow? Too high... 50 btc sure Nah, that's not enough to be fun. We'll just have to see if you're right. Say 500 because you know nobody will do that and when someone says less you are not interested. Pussy. Well of course I did. Anyone stupid enough to even bet $100 on something so unpredictable is nuts. No one can predict this market even for a 24 hour period. IT isn't gambling to hold Bitcoin for a long time. You will eventually get your money back out. If you spot a drop that allows you to buy more great but trading constantly for a few percent in profit is too risky. It's like playing dice. You can't predict the roll of the dice.

Those "1 QUADRILLION!!! btc" bets are so off-putting. Last one that I remember that completely failed was something between rpietila and windjc, iirc.
Point is, with a stake that high (even for the "big holders"), it never comes to fruition. Take a hint from the regular money rich dudes: when they make a public bet, it's in a reasonable range: cigars worth a few thousand dollars. 10k to a charity. Stuff like that. They don't always need to flash 25% of their net worth to make a bet.
Hence my suggestion: if you want to call someone out on a statement, in the form of a bet, make it in the range of a few k USD. 5 BTC. 10 maybe. It's enough to make your point, looks good, and most importantly: it's not so bloated an amount that it never will be taken up.

I always believed that anyone sitting constantly watching this thread and trying to predict movement was playing with a lot of coin. It hardly seems worth it to me if your not.

He's not the one who wanted to bet when I was "wrong".. you asked how and I gave you an option.. he did not ask for an option. What are the terms. What exactly are you saying is going to happen. I read it to mean you expect the price to go lower than it has been recently and fast. It that right? 1800 is far more likely than 2400 that is what I am saying. Ah, then I misunderstood your post. It sounded to me like you were saying the price is fixing to tank.

When the price will hit $1000 several hodlers will sell their holdings but the adoption will continue without them.
I think this is a problem with bitcoin. There are too many people who believe the price will always rise, thus preventing them from spending their bitcoin thus preventing adoption from increasing I agree. We need to see more bitcoin related commerce. When we see enough commerce then we can truly see the benefits that bitcoin has to offer. When enough people use bitcoin then merchants will hopefully start to offer discounts for using it, which will hopefully cause more people to buy and use it, and the circle will continue. Bitcoin's acceptance isn't really tied to commerce as much as it's crippled by usability. Of course there must be someplace to use Bitcoin for it to have value but for general acceptance it must be easy to use. Until very recently Bitcoin was a toy for techno geeks and nerds because it requires speciality knowledge that the overwhelming majority of citizens don't possess. I'd like to say that Bitcoin could be used by just anyone that spends the time necessary to gain the knowledge but this simply isn't true. There are still many people that can't balance their own checking account ledger and need to have someone else do their taxes because they can't figure it out or their lazy. Businesses are starting to pop up that will allow Bitcoin to be used like a credit or debit card. These businesses need to create a layer between the protocol and the user that will allow a simpleton to scan a QR code or answer a simple question to pay with and buy Bitcoin. I'd like to see software that fits on a phone works like Bump and asks questions like, "a register near you is requesting that you pay .005 Bitcoin. Would you like to make this payment? This step is really more important than any value that could be assigned to the individual unit of 1 Bitcoin. Satoshi is the unit most people will eventually buy and whole Bitcoins will be reserved for transferring large amounts of money between financial institutions. Ever seen one of these, this is the future one Bitcoin: These were reserved for bank transfers.![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fc2.staticflickr.com%2F4%2F3185%2F3100221910_6631a12ca4.jpg&t=663&c=4TYPGMWhMxjaFA)

I met him yesterday at the Inside Bitcoin conference in Las Vegas. Talking with him for just a few minutes convinced me he's at least a little bit nuts. At best he says things that are far fetched and at worst he says things that are simply wrong. I'm not sure what to think about him supporting Bitcoin. Having him around is good for exposure and media hits but how many normal people believe the same thing about him that I do? "See I told you Bitcoin was for fringe kooks. That Patrick Byrne guy loves it." ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.deepcapture.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2008%2F05%2Fpatrick-byrne-with-ufo-from-new-york-post.png&t=663&c=YpqZvBw3EUAnTA)

There's nothing wrong with it, I just think it's ridiculous that some people on this forum expect the price to go their way 100% of the time lol ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) Yeah, that's true. That is the very first lesson life should have taught them. You don't always get what you want.

Shit! We can't take any more good news right now. The price will drop to nothing. lol

Speculators won't make as much money as they think they will if they trade Bitcoin, use it as a currency, the problem is everyone here is clearly trying to trade on the price swings rather than actually earn coins without screwing themselves over.
And what's wrong with trading on the price swings? The only people making any money on Bitcoin without a massive time or equipment investment are speculators and criminals. At least day traders don't have to worry about the police knocking on their door someday.

More information about CryptoBucket here. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) That page took a good 30 seconds to load... ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) About 1 second for me. You might want to consider giving up the dialup service for something more up to date. lol Ok, I tried it again just now and it came up almost instantly. Are you on some kind of shared service? One that gets slow during periods of peak activity? No, I have a consistent 100-150 Mbps broadband.

Isn't this sad. You can't trust anybody on this forum. It probably is the #1 problem Bitcoin has. If there was ever a way to include POS ( Proof of Scammer ) we would all be zillionaires. POS lol

The giveaways are a good idea. That might bring some users. If you can ban Bittburger I'll use it. jk
