^^^ Now I am not going to say that Samson deserves the spot better than Pant. It is up to the selectors to decide. But are the selectors doing their job without any bias? I remember the incident in which Hanuma Vihari was picked over Karun Nair, when the latter was in good form. And it didn't surprised me back then, because MSK Prasad (chief selector of the Indian National Cricket Team) came from the same state board as Vihari.
5422  Economy / Economics / Re: How does the US and China trade war affect bitcon? How do people think ? on: December 13, 2019, 10:33:40 AM
China and Russia are making new moves every day. China is already very strong in Bitcoin mining. Russia is after its own projects. The US is the greatest power of the current economic order. Russia wants domestic software to be installed on technological tools. I don't think Bitcoin should be monopolized by any country.

Even if China and Russia make an alliance, I seriously doubt whether they will be able to take on the United States. The US remains the largest economy by a long distance. There were a lot of rumors about China overtaking them, but those predictions were never realized. The Russian technology lags behind that of the Americans, while the Chinese are only good in plagiarizing.

I hope south African cricket board will realize the importance of skills not the skin color matters while they were represnting for a country's sport. Then only they can aim for a world cup trophy which is about to happen on March 2023.

I don't really think that Cricket South Africa cares much about winning tournaments. Some 50-60 good players have migrated to other countries during the past 10-15 years, and CSA have never tried to bring them back. Even many of the existing players (such as AB de Villiers) were forced to retire early, after they caught up in the team politics.

Ashwin is excelling in the T-20 format these days since I hear stories of him performing extremely well in small T-20 leagues these days which is why I fail to see why he shouldn't be brought back into the squad since Kuldeep and Chahal are out of form these days.

Are you talking about TNPL? That tournament is not up to the standard of global franchise cricket leagues such as the CPL and the BBL. And Ashwin can't play in any other T20 league, as the BCCI rules prohibit him from doing so. He took part in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, but that tournament is also not considered as having high standards.

It looks as if New Zealand are in all sorts of trouble against Australia. The Aussies made 400 plus and in reply the Kiwis are struggling at 1/2. They lost the wickets of Jeet Raval and Tom Latham, with just one run on board. Ross Taylor and Kane Williamson are batting now and let's see how long they will survive against the fiery Australian pace attack.
5426  Economy / Economics / Re: How many bitcoin is enough? on: December 12, 2019, 03:45:32 PM
Although 21 is a very good amount, I don't think that a lot many people can afford to invest that much, given the current exchange rates. 1 BTC is suggested by some people and I guess it is more like an achievable target. At current exchange rate, that amounts to around $7,200 and even those users from developing nations should be able to save that much in 2-3 years time.

Sri Lanka will Play test series with Pakistan in Pakistan Cricket Stadiums. Test Cricket again back in Pakistan after ten years.
https://www.zerocric.com/pakistan-vs-sri-lanka-live-streaming/

LOL.. the first test got underway two days back and if you check the previous pages there are posts on that match as well. It is a good thing that the Pakistani fans are able to watch their team playing at home after almost a decade. But unfortunately for them, rain is playing spoilsport. Only 86 overs of play was possible during the first two days due to bad weather and the match is very likely to end in a boring draw if there is no miracles during the next three days.

Indian fans have this problem. I didn't watch game so not aware of this particular incident . As far as i noticed fans were booing Rishab Pant and Virat came in his defense followed by some statement during the press conference. this thingy happened against Bangladesh too when fans were chanting Dhoni.
I said this in this forum, if Sanju Samson was not selected in the match played in Kerala the entire team will be booed and on top of that they lost the match, just imagine the response they got and my friends were in the stadium and i knew they were planning to boo Pant and Kohli and the team management if he was not selected and so is the reason i predicted that here in this forum  Cheesy.

this is where i predicted how the fans will behave .
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5102095.msg53291165#msg53291165

But this may harm his chances further, right? Kohli was very upset after all the booing and chants that were directed at him and Pant. It is no secret that he prefers Pant over the other potential keepers, but this particular incident will make him even more insistent on the choice for that slot. Meanwhile the Ranji trophy season has started, and for now Samson should concentrate on that.
5429  Economy / Economics / Re: stupidity is so close to poverty on: December 12, 2019, 02:55:38 PM
The answer is partially yes because stupid people can make inherit money/properties/assets or win a lottery but there are 99% chances that the money shall soon leave them or they shall soon loose all the money to the wiser  folks.

Nowadays, a large majority of the billionaires are those who inherited their wealth. Examples range from Mohammad bin Salman of Saudi Arabia and Gina Reinhart of Australia to the current president of the United States (Donald Trump). A few such as Mark Zuckerberg and Sergey Brin have managed to make a fortune for themselves. But the number of such individuals are not increasing.
5430  Economy / Economics / Re: Who is the richest person? on: December 12, 2019, 02:46:59 PM
This is not fair to state that richest people are not interested in bitcoin or blockchain technology. Rich people must be aware of this technology and somehow linked with it. Even facebook CEO launched his own crypto coin which clearly shows the interest of billionaires in this technology. Rich people are the ones who need decentralized system the most so that they can have all control over money.

We may never know whether they are investing in Bitcoin or not, due to the anonymous nature of cryptocurrency. Only a few of the large Bitcoin holders have come out in the open about their stash. And that said, there are billionaires such as Mark Zuckerberg who want to create their own cryptocurrency. But I have a feeling that this is doomed to fail, as they will never get the sort of user base or trust from the ordinary people.
5431  Economy / Economics / Re: Don't spend bitcoin. Not now. on: December 12, 2019, 02:32:06 PM
There is no point in advising Bitcoin users to hold their coins indefinitely. Unless Bitcoin becomes a global currency that is accepted everywhere, at some point in the future you may need to convert at least part of your coins to some other asset (preferably fiat cash). And I have to admit that a lot many of the users are getting impatient now.

India always had an issue with the bowling department. They never had good strike bowlers as in India kids prefer to bat more than bowl. You will always find plenty of spinners but rarely you will find a good medium pacer or a fast bowler. I think they should give more chance to Md Shammi.
I am sure you are talking about your own experience when you were a kid that you prefer to bat rather than to bowl and so does majority of the kids but when you look at the current Indian team they have the best bowling line up, in T20 they might go for runs and they have the batsman to back the bowlers and the last match against West Indies was a prime example.

In T20 even the best bowlers can go for plenty of runs, and you can't really blame them. If it is 90% skill and 10% luck in the ODI format, in T20 format it is 50% luck and 50% skill. So if a batsmen is lucky on a given day, he may smash the best T20 bowler available for more than 20 runs in an over. qne unfortunately none of the Indian bowlers can be considered as T20 specialists.

Booing the players during the game is not something I would condone. I had condemned similar behavior by the English fans when they booed both Steve Smith and David Warner during the Ashes. And more than a decade back, I was disappointed by similar behavior by the Indian fans, during a World Cup match against Sri Lanka. Let's keep the sportsman spirit by removing these hooligans from the crowd.

Marnus Labuschagne continued his form and scored his third consecutive test century which is incredible and both of those innings were above 150 runs but short of reaching a double century and now he has the opportunity to improve that and reach his first test double century if he is able to play the entire day tomorrow and if he is able to play by each sessions then he will accomplish that and unfortunately Smith got out to the trap set by the New Zealand bowlers.

What a time this player is having as making third consecutive century is a achievement and truly having best of the time in batting it’s seems . Though Oz have lost 3 wickets but scored 220 runs and averaged wins quite slow which is little lower than 3 per over .

Labuschagne is going to become the backbone of Australian batting in the near future. He is just 25 years old, and has another 10-12 years to make a few batting records for himself. And let's not forget the fact that Labuschagne was born in South Africa, and he decided to shift to Australia due to the racial quota policy in South African cricket. South Africa's loss is Australia's win.

I can't agree with your post. India right now has one of the strongest bowling attacks for any of the teams, and the bowlers have performed even in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah. Don't you remember what happened when South Africa visited India? The maximum number of wickets were taken by Mohammad Shami, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav.
5436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 11, 2019, 06:27:13 PM
Pollard's wicket was the turning point of the match as there was still a chance when he was hitting those massive sixes, good thing is that even after seeing 240 target, West Indies didn't hesitate to attack from the 1st over. India was the better team today and won the series.

Not much can be done when the required run rate is more than 12 runs per over. And West Indies had the worst start that any one could imagine. They were 3/17 after 3.1 overs, with Brandon King, Lendl Simmons and Nicholas Pooran back at the pavillion. And that was when Kieron Pollard joined Shimron Hetmyer at the crease and stabilized the innings.

Quote
Everyone is here for the money and sports people have a small window to make money and hence you cannot tie anyone up in my opinion.

That's really a skewed way to put it. Money is not everything. Ask people who have got the money and they will tell you otherwise. There are more valuable things like Happiness, personal development and so on. "Sports People (Athletes)" often have long carriers lasting at least a decade and they make a fortune no matter what sport they play in or whatever their intention might be. So yeah it's not all about money always... The are other factors in play.

Oh... common.... for once we can think rationally and get out of this moral highground BS. Playing cricket is like any other profession, and there is nothing wrong in changing your job in case the new employer is willing to give you a 100% hike. The only thing is that the old employer should not feel bad and he should be compensated for their loss.
5438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 11, 2019, 05:36:03 PM
They lost the match by a massive margin (67 runs). It is equivalent to losing an ODI match by more than 100 runs. Throughout the series, the West Indies bowlers looked outclassed. A lot was said about Jason Holder and Hayden Walsh, but both these bowlers fared miserably. Only Sheldon Cottrell could contain the Indian batsmen to an extent, but he was also smashed all around the ground during the 3rd match.
5439  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 11, 2019, 03:37:02 PM
I think this was the most one sided T20 match involving India, that I have ever watched. Just when I thought that Sharma and Rahul destroyed West Indies, Virat came to the crease and removed whatever vestiges remained of the once great West Indies team. The so called T20 super powers are now reeling from the onslaught from Sharma/Kohli/Rahul.

Sanju Samson fans are about to get ballistic, as Rishabh Pant failed once again.  Grin

Rishabh Pant got out for a duck, and irrespective of whatever support he has from the captain and the coach, it is going to be very difficult for him to remain in the playing XI anymore. He was given so many chances and in the recent history no other player got this many opportunities. But even after that he has failed to perform in a big way.
