Bitcoinmagazine.net and bittalk.tv are down, and Matthew is nowhere to be found!  Shocked

*FLAIL-FLAIL-FLAIL!!!*

I paid for the mag 9 days ago, and was just wondering how to get the digital version Tongue

By the way, I never implied that this was a scam. Matthew is way too open for that. I'm just flailing around for no reason, and being too demanding in jest. Servers do go down.

I think he has a new mission in life--seek out and exploit contests and donate the spoils to Bitcoin 100. Pretty neat idea, if I may say so myself. Thank you kindly, Kluge, for all your efforts and recent contributions.

~Bruno~

Yeah, but until these donations actually go anywhere, Bitcoin100 is still just a black hole with no one owning or having rights to its contents.

P2Pool & cgminer is the best way to "solo" mine
5445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Win 100 BTC by becoming the first Satoshi Superstar! on: February 11, 2012, 07:28:17 AM
Earlier in this thread it was said, TWICE, that only judge's votes will count. Anyone else sending in satoshis will be throwing their money away.

Finally reconciled the financial sheet http://goo.gl/Mk3hp
I really shouldn't let things go for too long, and really need to clean it up to make it look better. Still working on moving coins from BTC100 to the new MemDealer addy (getting help from another furry)
5447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rashid Temuri (Chicago Cabbie) asking about Bitcoin on Twitter on: February 11, 2012, 04:23:53 AM
Could this be the new face of Bitcoin?

Rashid checking the balance in his Bitcoin wallet?

Those are EPIC sideburns!!!  Shocked

Not as much fun without Atlas here though  Tongue

If I shaved, I would look like you. And if I shaved down there, I would look like your coffee table. I hope you did well in your classes, otherwise this community will kick you in your furry ass. Thank you kindly for keeping up on the books. How long would it take to hash this vanity address?: 1ChiCab1(any small case letter).... It'll be for Chicago Cabbie. I'm planning on seeing him next week to present to him his free leather Bitcoin wallet.

~Bruno~

I think if you let your body hair grow all out all over the place, you'd look more like my coffee table. Won't be done with class craziness until I'm all done in May. The first few classes were just a bit overwhelming.
Will probably take half a day or less to hash that. You sure you want me to do that though? If you give him that address to use, you won't have any guarantee that I don't have the private key any more other than my word.
5450  Economy / Services / Re: Introducing the Bitcoin 100: A Kickstarter for Charities on: February 10, 2012, 05:24:45 AM
Added profile picture to get +1 to my legitimacy stat Cool
Was rather busy rebuilding my server at home, so didn't have access to private key generation in a while. It's all set up now, so I'm hashing out a 1MemDea1 addy for Roger, so I can finally move his donation into his own private address, and update the financial tracking sheet. (that, plus been super busy with work and new classes starting up, otherwise I might've considered joining that Satoshi Superstars thing)
5451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Win 100 BTC by becoming the first Satoshi Superstar! on: February 10, 2012, 03:57:52 AM
Matthew isn't Korean, either, so... well said!

*7* blocks in one day. That definitely covers the unlucky streak Cheesy

This is a bit OT, but, isn't it much much much cheaper to pay to buy Litecoins directly than pay for electricity to get them now?
5454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Happy Satoshi Nakamoto Day on: February 08, 2012, 11:29:44 PM
We need more holidays not near January 1.  I like the day the paper was published.

For now, I'm leaving Dec 12th in my calendar.  I'll try to hold off on the fliers until we come to more of a consensus...

I chose June 7 in honor of Alan Turing's death: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Turing

That's not really something to celebrate. May 15th, Jerry Falwell's death, I could see, but...

The 0.0011 were donations from Gavin to make up a mistake with transaction fees in a beta build of bitcoind. He rounded them all up to that to be nice.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=61429.msg722975#msg722975

That was a long time ago.

In other news, we had 6 blocks today, at a 1 per hour average.

Maybe someone added a 500Gh/s server farm, and has been extremely unlucky for submitting P2Pool shares (keeping visible P2Pool hash rate low), but extraordinarily lucky for submitting shares that are valid overall? Smiley
5456  Economy / Services / Re: Introducing the Bitcoin 100: A Kickstarter for Charities on: February 08, 2012, 06:38:31 PM
I know some people at the ACLU.  I talked to them about Bitcoin and they seemed interested if it would actually bring in a good amount of money.  Would you guys be interested in donating to them?

I would definitely support this

Sorry, I said government, as in specifically within the government, as in "in the government offices and buildings." Not that it is blocked by the government for everyone living here. I can see how it's confusing Cheesy

O/T: Hey Rassah, are you one of those "spooks" who gets paid in Bitcoins?  Grin

Noooo, I wish. Just a financial analyst for a pretty obscure state department.

many financial firms handling forex and algo trading already buy locations as close as possible to major trunks just to gain a few ms in response time.
One Wilshire ftw.
I think, well, if someone makes a simple guide for beginners ..with pictures.. . like this. I did it in Russian. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=62698.0

Lol! imageban.ru is blocked in US government for "pornography"  Grin

Um, not it's not.

It is in MD Tongue
Likely still not.  States don't block webpages (yet and hopefully ever). Are you sure its not your office or DNS or ISP?

Dozen issues is rather expensive cost-wise. Not very polite to volunteer others to give charity :/
By the way, why didn't you use Google Apps for your site? You could've used the bitcoin100.org domain name while having a Google Sites site, with Google Docs forms, and Gmail for e-mail accounts to send stuff out of, and besides the domain name, it would've been all free.
