There was a small bump in the price after the announcement was made that both India and South Korea was willing to allow Bitcoin to be used in their country. The "use" was not unrestricted though, because it looks like this would be accompanied with a lot of regulations to restrict Bitcoin users and merchants to strip pseudo anonymity. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) India are predominantly a country with a large amount of people that are living from hand to mouth, so I doubt that there would be millions of poor people buying bitcoins. The people that should be buying bitcoins are the workers from India, working in other countries and sending money home to their families. <Now these families can pay directly in bitcoin, because more and more merchants would be allowed to accept it and there will be no need to convert it to fiat to do so.> ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Glad to see Freebitco.in supporting the Signature campaigns on this forum now, ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5230893.0 because they are using the forum to verify random winnings of the faucet and also using it as a platform to communicate with their users. Did you announce what option the previous winner of the Lambo draw took? Did he/she take the BTC or the car? Crazy to think that the next draw will be in less than 50 days from now. ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) The site that keeps on giving.. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Bitcoin has been used for porn for many years already and there are nothing wrong with that. Why would it give Bitcoin a bad reputation, if these porn sites used Paypal and Credit cards before that? The problem come in when Bitcoin and other Crypto currencies are used for child porn and other illegal material, like snuff films. ![Angry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/angry.gif) Most of these sites are using some kind of payment processor and that is stripping all anonymity from these transactions, because the payment processor is a 3rd party <centralized service> and they record all the transactions that are done on their servers. ![Angry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/angry.gif)

I do not know about World Peace, but Bitcoin can help to have a more transparent voting system and it might help to reduce the impact that a corrupt government might have on a country. When you have transparency, you have accountability to your voters and that is what most of these governments needs. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Bitcoin can also help to make tender processes more transparent, so there will be less corruption in the whole procurement and payment process <Blockchain transparency> and this will put more funds towards projects that would provide services to the citizens of that country. < The funds will not be stolen and redirected to government officials pockets.>

You are wrong about one thing, not everyone come to this forum to earn money. I started posting on this forum, because I Googled something related to Bitcoin and I landed on this site. I saw the forum was very active and I had many questions that needed to be answered. The "money" thing is an added bonus that happens way later, when you know enough about Bitcoin to post constructive and quality posts. There are also a lot of rude and impolite people on this forum and some of them are also earning an income through this site. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) This site should not be seen as a second job, but rather as a library with a wealth of knowledge and a good opportunity to acquire a new skill/hobby. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Now why would the spread of the COVID-19 virus to Italy, have such a impact on the Bitcoin price? China is currently one of the largest economies in the world and when the Corona virus was first announced, the Bitcoin price went up. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) People are looking for answers for the latest drop in the price, but the price fluctuation cannot be explained with the behavior of the historic events, because it is not reacting in the same way it did, when this announcement was made in China. Large investors will look for safe havens and I doubt if they are moving funds towards Crypto investments, because the price volatility is scaring them away. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Ah, thank you very much for these links, I did not know about them. You should give these handy guides to the support personal to give to people if they ask about this. It would be nice if the chatbot could have a automated response to display these links, if you ask about this on the chat screen. < The problem with this is the bet requirements to enable you to chat or to ask for help there and also the hostile response you might get if you did > ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) It is nice that the tutorials are provided on your own forum and not external links to other sites, because that would open up a whole can of worms, if you get redirected to malicious phishing sites. @DarkoReborn these are really helpful tutorials, and I’ll be honest I too didn’t knew about these tutorials before. @Kakmakr I’ll agree with your recommendations of automated chat bots giving out these tutorials, and it’ll be really nice if Stake can test it and implement it. As said previously, newbies might not meet the minimum wager requirements to access the chat section, so they will not know about it, if it was enabled there. I think a better suggestion would be to put a small "?" next to each game and then to link that to the tutorials on the forum. Some of these tutorials are also a bit complicated, so I would suggest that it might be made a bit more "newbie" friendly. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) < Hint - Sports betting > You can even add a "tutorials" tab at the top of the page, next to the casino / Sport betting tabs to give quick access to those tutorials. In any way, Stake.com is still a work in progress and a new site, so we might be expecting too much, too soon.

It is strange that this is getting media attention, because people are getting robbed every day and it is not getting special attention. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) I guess the fact that they thought that this guy is having $10 000 worth of Crypto currencies on his phone, makes this news worthy. ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) A lot of us are walking around with mobile phones, linked to Banking Apps that gives robbers access to all our money in our Bank accounts. So it is not just Bitcoiners that are vulnerable, because the money in your Bank accounts are just the same. These criminals will cut off your finger to get your password and there are not a lot you can do about that. To prevent large losses, rather keep a high percentage of your coins in cold storage and do not talk about it.

It would be nice if you could link the down votes to a automatic deletion feature, that way undesirable content gets deleted automatically, if the community does not like it. It will also create less work for moderators to police content that are in bad taste or even illegal content like child pornography. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) The site gave me some "Error 522" - connection timed out errors at first, but I think it was a problem with my link, I rebooted the computer and router and everything was fine. I think the Copy righted material issue is of no concern to you, because you are not providing it for payment. If someone want to reward someone for posting something nice, it is not for payment for that content. <It is more like a finders fee> ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I wonder why there has been such a significant reduction in the total Lottery prize money, since it was launched? The natural answer might be that less people are buying lottery tickets, but I think a lot of people might have decided to stop playing it, because the win percentage are very low? We used to see first prize Lotto winnings of 1 to 3 bitcoins.... now the first prize is way below 0.5 BTC. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) Alternatively, more people are channeling their money towards the other games that were added, like the Lambo draw and also Sport betting now. ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) It feels like a anticlimax, to win only 0.2 or 0.1 for a first prize in a Lotto draw. How can they boost the Lotto to draw more people back to it?

I think it is for me, all about the community and the experience. I like it when the gambling site has some kind of communication channel for the gamblers to interact. The chat should also allow for some tipping service and good moderators, because winners need to motivate losers by being generous and tipping people. The moderators must be strict when it comes to begging, to get rid of the people who simply spoil the channel with all their begging and negativity. < swearing and bad behavior should also not be tolerated > I like to put my bets on "auto betting" and then just sit there and chat away with people that are doing the same in the chat screen. I do the same kind of thing, when I visit the brick n mortar casinos, because I like the interaction with the people and also sharing gambling tips and stories.

One sure way to protect your bitcoins or Alt coins is not to store them in large quantities on online services. Your storage strategy should allow for you to hoard most of your coins in Paper wallets <offline> or hardware wallets and only storing a small amount of coins in these online wallets. < A 95% cold storage / 5% hot wallets might be a good strategy if you want to reduce your losses > Also, using case sensitivity and symbols in a short password has shown that it is still more vulnerable than using a long password that are much harder to Bruteforce. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Also using Password managers for passwords related to your Crypto currencies, are not a good idea. Several people have reported that some Password managers was exploited to get people's secret passwords.

Ok, I learned something new today, I usually just updated the Electrum version that comes with Tails and then clean boots with that, but I kind of agree with previous posters that it defeats the purpose of a clean boot, if you want to use a persistent volume. The hackers just target the data that does not get wiped, when the OS is rebooted. One advantage of using Tails is the fact that hackers usually target Operating systems with a large user base, so something like Windows would be targeted a lot more than Tails. < I am not saying Tails is not targeted, but it is less likely >

One thing I noticed on Stake.com is that they are not giving tutorials or manuals, explaining to new users how their games work. So, if you are new to say Sports betting, you will not know what to do. I approached their support staff and they acknowledged that and said that they are willing to teach new people how to use the different games, if they get stuck.
I think that takes away support from people who actually have game based problems and a quick tutorial on each game would not take a lot of time to implement. What do you guys think.... should they create tutorials for every game for the newbies?

Please give the proof that investments in traditional markets are moving to Crypto currencies. All the large Stock exchanges have limited platforms where traders from institutional investment platforms are able to shift large amounts of funds to Crypto currencies. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) If this was true, you would see a global increase in Crypto currencies and not a drop as we are seeing now. Bitcoin is definitely not very attractive as a store of value now that the price is dropping. <More then $1000 in less than a week> ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) Threads like this just fuel fud and confusion, when it is not backed by fact. ![Angry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/angry.gif)

From where are you sourcing the geographical co-ordinates you will be using?
- the poc recommends using map data.
Due to the movement of tectonic plates, global co-ordinates do not remain static over time
- true, you would need to choose a bigger search radius or recover from the old map data. I would not recommend it for long term storage anyways.
There is no substitute for writing your seed down on paper.
- it is true that it wont allways prevent humans from losing their keys. Either cause they cant remember or they choose a really weak password and a very popular location that an attacker might target. So basically it wont prevent people from being stupid, how could it. However if you are in risk of losing your paper wallet for example in the refugee case, carrying it on you physically might be a bigger risk than forgetting it. If you would burry a treasure in meatspace would you hide it at a popular place with weak access security?
Is the geographical co-ordinated just a random location or can this be a specific location that you pick? When I first read this wall of text, it looked like you are giving the co-ordinates? Reason why I ask, is the security issues if it takes your physical location, because it will compromise your actual location and then make you a target for a physical attack, if someone was able to track you down from the co-ordinates provided. Also, hiding a broken up Private key online would not be a big deal for me, if I had to flee my country. I simply store pieces of the whole Private key in different online services that nobody would be able to decipher. The refugees could have done the same, if they just knew what to do. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Satoshi Nakamoto's vision was for Bitcoin to be a global alternative payment option (P2P) and nothing has changed since then. The only thing that might have changed a little, was that some speculators entered the scene and they started to use Bitcoin as a commodity. This was also as a direct result of the US Government and also some other countries, defining Bitcoin as a Commodity and not as a currency. ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) The big shift came after 2017, when Bitcoin reached a ATH price of over $18 000 and it peaked the interest of commodity traders. The old school Bitcoiners still promote Bitcoin as a currency and I have personally applied a strategy to use 20% of all the coins that I acquire to support this. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
