5441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Someone please make a steem clone on: August 25, 2016, 04:13:27 AM
Steem just opened up a successful front that entices people to open up their first CC account, and you're like, "Hey, that's working! Let's try to minimize its effectiveness with another project, but this time will make it extra decentralized so varying factions can quibble on the most effective means to spend their marketing budget (or not spend any of it with chants of "HODL!").

It took me awhile to see why steem's distribution makes sense (or more sense), but when I did  Shocked

could you explain to us? because i dont see it... right now a few whales control the platform and generally they only upvote sh*t post(i'm not saying one o mine should be upvoted, i'm saying i've saw good writers there getting 50+ upvotes but only a few bucks for that, and other posts, with less than 10 upvotes being paid 1000USD+)

one vote from ned and you get 1500+ SBD. that doesnt make sense to me.

It's not about good writing (most people rarely even understand great writing, so intimidating noobs away is hardly a good idea--see Nietzsche). What you want is fun posts that invite people in and get them thinking, "I can do that?" You also want post that further implant the meme of cryptocurrencies into the social consciousness (see gateway drugs), and you want established players in content creation to prove that the platform works. And finally, you want to represent different clicks of ethnic, social, and cultural backgrounds.

*a few BOOBS don't hurt either.

As far as the whale factor--you're going to see lag. What's important is that the big markets get addressed, not that quality content is rewarded, that will be addressed by sub-communities who will be better arbiters of what is good for the community and what is quality--see poetry section (a poem that used a double "that" final end-rhyme got the highest payout of $2,700, a reputable poetry forum wouldn't let that happen--but that takes time.). If you look at the financial and cryptocurrency sections, you'll see that the quality, for the most part, is superior than the other sections, mostly because we have a community already established in cc and hundreds of articles waiting to be discovered by people outside our community.

Thank you for a good explanation. The sad part here is those who share their mind blowing posts and originals might get copied also. That will be stressful for the user less payed and someone stole your idea. Ergh
5442  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin can not replace fiat on: August 25, 2016, 04:02:39 AM
Replacing fiat is unreal for bitcoin in reason cause goverments of different countries will not get any profit from bitcoin, so for them better not to accept bitcoin.

Yeah, fiat will keep alive and bitcoin can't replace it, but i think bitcoin can go along together with fiat, so bitcoin will not replace fiat.

Bitcoin is the digital currency which is gonna the future currency world and most probably US only adopt this currency instead of dollars and world will use bitcoin as money as well as transaction mode.
europe and america has shown their support for existence bitcoin and they are know bitcoin can solved some problem they know can't solved by bank maybe can't replaced fiat but all countries accept the existence of bitcoin as a currency.

There it is. The good answer so far. Providing convenience is the key factor for bitcoin to be accepted by those countries. Not change the way they use to be but upgrade it. Make it more easier, faster. We know there are a lot of people who are traditional and just cant change that instant.
5443  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of the paper money on: August 25, 2016, 03:59:13 AM
Paper money already begins to not eistt as poly materials are used instead of paper.
A digital currency by the state would be less open to fraud and would be easier to be controlled (as some people can currently lie about the taxes they need to pay).

The abolishment of ppaper currency and coins is really unlkely to happen as not everyone uses the internet. However, in around 80 years, that would definitely be a good solution.

But we cant see that anymore unless they found a way to make people immortal.  Grin We have to thank those who created this paper money. Without them. We might be bringing stones in our backpack and will be hunchback for just a couple of years.
5444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Two things are certain: Bitcoin and Taxes on: August 24, 2016, 02:39:59 PM
to me if state impose tax on bitcoin its mean that they have accepted bitcoin that will be really a good decision, and it must be in favour of bitcoin, through this bitcoin will become more popular in the people.
I think it is impossible for the government to be giving taxes to the bitcoin users. bitcoin users have many ways to avoid their taxes.
they can use a mixer so that they can not be detected by the government. I think giving ideas for bitcoin enacted tax is a strange idea

Those greedy monsters will do something to create a tax. Maybe not now but they will specially when they see a lot of growth in price of bitcoin. They will make a law someday that will be about taxes when it comes to online currencies.
5445  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is unpredictable job. on: August 24, 2016, 02:36:49 PM
There are many people who lost their money on trading, because trading is unpredictable job, in my opinion i need:
Method ( i must have system trading)
Money ( i must have management of money and risk)
Mind ( i must can control my emotion)
Tell me your opinions?

Emotions are the very first thing I tried to control. I always wait for more when I see the price of an altcoin go way up. Being greedy is like a disease that is hard to stop, it is like gambling also. When you have that problem you have all of them in the list.
5446  Other / Archival / Re: Do you use bitcoin as currency or investment? on: August 24, 2016, 02:03:27 PM
Not only in dice its possible to loose in any game, as you can win in gambling only if your are possible and its simply impossible to be lucky every time.

Yeah, but because I do not understand very well about gambling in other forms so I do not dare mention. Since I have only ever played once gambling with dice and instantly my money ran out. If everyone is fortunate continues, owners will soon be bankrupt, pal.
I think bitcoin very multipurpose. bitcoin can be used for anything even you could use bitcoin as a currency in the gambling
and you should know that the dice and other games can give you a loss. so you have to be careful in the game in gambling.

If you want to use it in gambling then I think you should try your luck in sports betting as it can give you profits if you have a right strategy and knowledge of the game.

Yes I would rather pick that one too or poker. Dont go for dice it is just a 50 50 percent chance and sometimes lower than that. Plus it is a fast paced game and wont need knowledge but basically luck which is low die to house edge.
5447  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: August 24, 2016, 01:49:53 PM
For storing your money?

Let's not fool ourselves. Banks are infinitely safer at this point in time. Sure, we can all spread FUD about how evil and insecure they are, but in a bank, our money is Federally ensured regardless of the circumstance.

Tell that to Cypriot or Greek

My apologies, sometimes I forget this is a global forum.

I cannot speak for everyone on earth, but in the United States, your money deposited into banks are Federally ensured (up to $250,000 I believe). This is infinitely more secure than the 0 insurance associated with a Bitcoin wallet.

Actually I agree with you when it comes to security. Specially, those who are just relying in bitcoin wallets online. Those who dont have their own personal computer is at risk with their bitcoins all over the wallets. Even the known "put in many baskets" is at risks if a full blown downtime will happen.
5448  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the Future of Bitcoin ? on: August 24, 2016, 11:13:13 AM
The reason why it's getting most popular in the future because more people are using it and would definitely make it one of the better alternatives to fiat in years to come.

Yeah that is right. As a good alternative it is. As bitcoin produces more projects with the help of knowledgeable people here in the community then most likely in the future it will be known at its best.
5449  Economy / Economics / Re: Why have Bitcoin instead of cash? on: August 24, 2016, 08:30:54 AM
because the value of cash can decrease from day to day, but if you invest your cash in bitcoin the price of bitcoin is expecting to increase, therefore it is better to keep your assets in bitcoin instead of cash.
and it will be decreasing because there is more and more money being printed out, in my opinion bitcoins are way better because of that

Yes and due to what happened with bitfinex we still havent got back to the price in where it is from the past month, so it is now really the good time to buy. As days goes by we are gaining back those lost dollars with buyers getting in.

I think the bitcoin price will rise in the next few months when the people are moving away from the altcoin to bitcoin again.

That is hard to predict. This altcoins are strong when it comes to the trust of their users. They will not just move away to where they can more than bitcoin.
There is a lot of movement in altcoins and there are a lot to choose.
5450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling be considered a "high risk investment"? on: August 24, 2016, 04:30:24 AM
I know it isn't an investment, but in the last few years some "high risk" investment funds have appeared, and in them you can either lose it all or earn a lot of money.

Isn't this basically the same as gambling? Wouldn't it be faster to just deposit the amount in a casino? At least you'd be able to spend your earnings much sooner Cheesy

It will  be better at a "high risk game" where you just play. It is supposed to be like that, a game in which they make it more exciting by putting bets in it. But it had became much more that when people are trying so much to win the game.
5451  Economy / Economics / Re: If there was no fiat where will BTC base its value? on: August 24, 2016, 04:28:19 AM
I was thinking that every bitcoiner wants a world without fiat, only bitcoins. Ok, if there was no fiat whatsoever, then where do you think will bitcoin base its value? Will it be in gold? But how much?

How do we determine the real value measure of bitcoin in an economy that has been very dependent on fiat?

You already said the answer. Either it is gold or any other precious stones. That is the way they trade from the past and they see that this is stones is the way to make a faster trade. I think anything that glows in a person eyes is the one that is most precious to him at that time.

5453  Economy / Economics / Re: Tell me your predictions about Bitcoin on: August 24, 2016, 03:17:15 AM
I thing in coming year of 2017 bitcoin become popular in allmost around the world. Bitcoin can move up fast because the miners increasing. So bitcoin can reach 1500$-2500$ in the next year this is base in my own and i hope that will be happen. But now bitcoin have stable price getting down but much it only a little.
Your prediction would happen if we can see some good price before the end of this year, $1,000 is a good price to see and I think it is hard to achieve but it is possible. With the current price, it is cheap so if my prediction will happen I would be earning a decent amount of money.

A lot of holidays will be coming and we still got 4 months before year end. I think there will a lot of spending thaf will happen due to those holidays and more also will buy if they want to use bitcoin as a means of payment. That would be a lot of movement for bitcoin price
5454  Economy / Speculation / Re: If bitcoin dropped to $1, what you do? on: August 24, 2016, 01:19:44 AM
I will kill myself.  Cheesy just kidding. Well it is time to let go when that happens. Just look for another investment. Move on with my life and pretend it didnt happen or just put it in experience to be more careful next time.
5455  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to motivate women to use Bitcoin? on: August 23, 2016, 02:46:02 PM
why do you need to know how to motivate women to use bitcoin? do you want to know because you want to impress them or do you think that only the man are into bitcoin? i think you need to teach them first all about bitcoin for them to have interest on it.

How about you? do you want to motivate women to use bitcoin? for what reason?  Smiley But anyway, you are right, it's a good foundation if they really know what is bitcoin and how they can use it... Coz if they only know how to use it, I doubt it if they will continue if their wallets were drained..  Smiley
If a woman is a business minded person it would be easy to motivate to use bitcoin but we cannot see women more often engage into business using the unconventional system, we are in the crypto world and majority of the members in the community are men.

not all woman whio have bussines minded will interesting to bitcoin, some woman who never touch in digital bussines will not interesting to know or using bitcoin.
Well that's true, but this modern days, I think everyone knows how to operate his computer and how to search the web... So probably those woman who don't use computers are professional and don't use computer in practicing their career,,,

Yeah. But there is a low percentage of those who knows nothing or just a little bit. Thanks to smartphones that are computer like. They can somehow have a start up in how to use a computer. It is almost like the same.
5456  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you do with your btc? on: August 23, 2016, 02:43:42 PM
It's very easy, cause you have no many options, just spend it or invest it, both of them is good Grin and you should just choose one of them or both of them.

What else could we done. Options are too much little and there are not much that can be done with it. Invest, trade and spend. That is for now. Making a business through it is risky like exchanging it for gaming prepaid. There is rise and fall. Like what is happening now. It is hard to conduct a business thinking the price is so low there is no profit in it yet.
5457  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people keep saying BTC is dead?! on: August 23, 2016, 01:09:35 PM
much people say this because is lost money in trade
bitcoin price down lost and reduce capital money is very sad agry so say this
you might be right, in my opinion bitcoin is never going to be dead ever because it is the best currency that has even been invented
Chances are very low to happen, bitcoin is at its progressive stage and will continue to progress due to the support of the adopters, I know this will continue in the future as we are still in the early phase and we can still see more room for improvement so it is far from dead.

Yes it is. Actually it is still at its young stage. There will be a lot that will be going on and I hope it will be for the rise. We arent even close at the last drop of every mined bitcoin.
5458  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you buying bitcoins? Why? on: August 23, 2016, 10:50:26 AM
Yes, because I see it as a great investment particularly right now when the indicators are all seeming positive for bitcoin. it's also a great investment in just holding them and can be easily be sold for their USD value.

Due to a lot of website exchange this became easy with bitcoin trading to another currency. Including the alternative coins they can also be transferred into Bitcoin with a faster way then back to USD. Actually there are some convenience stores that are now opening their ideas on using their stores as a means of buying bitcoin also.
5459  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you accept bitcoin as your salary? on: August 23, 2016, 10:42:04 AM
I would accept it and very much welcome it as a way to increase the availability and options to get bitcoin "now I have to spend effort to find exchanges to it", of course it needs to be more usable than now "can buy things with it offline".

Yes and if everything will just be used thru online then what if you really need it. That is why there is need to be studied first before going to a conclusion of using bitcoin as a means of payment for salary.
5460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who really uses bitcoin? on: August 23, 2016, 08:13:42 AM
I recall some researches have already been done and I participated in some of them but don't think they publically published the results. I think this would make a great research topic for those thinking about one and are fans of bitcoin.

Do you remember the title of the research or some hint that we could search for googling it? It might help the community, some could post it here just quoting it or giving them the credits to make them more popular so they will have more will to do it again.
