When ASICMINER gets 50 TH up and ready through, solo mining looks like a better idea.

Hmm.. maybe porting over the bitcoin testnet's "reset difficulty to 1 if new blocks haven't being mined in the past X time" is a good idea?
i guess this could be an idea, maybe not downgrading as far as diff=1, but somehow based on the time taken to forge the last X blocks Halve the difficulty every 8 hours without blocks?

Mosper defaults? What a surprise!
Try CoinLenders. You won't lose bitcoins.

That's cool for a project like folding@home, but there is really no way to do that without centralization.

Hi. I delved into the world of crypto-currency about a month ago and can't get enough of it. I'd also particularly like to throw my two cents into this discussion about C3 bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=166498.40.
If you're not whitelisted yet, send me a PM and I'll post it there for you.

The ads are updated now.
You didn't comment on my thread about the same issue, but would you consider pulling your BFL ads, at least for until we know if the company is legit or not, or are you just happy that you're getting paid regardless of if the customers are getting screwed for thousands of dollars? Even if the specs are correct, the delivery estimates almost certainly are not. [edit] Don't mean to sound like it's an accusation, more of a suggestion. You say that as if there's any reasonable doubt that BFL is legit, which there never has been. There never has been? Hmm? Were you around when they announced FPGAs?

@DeaDTerra
What's with the doubling of shares issued from ~540,234 to ~1,034,273. Halving all of our profits, and you making a quick buck on selling them all, whilst also driivng down the price of the shares for everyone else.
Care to make a statment on this, what seems to me, exploitve action of yours?
Wow.. at this person who is advertising a spammy search engine in his sig (On my first read, I actually thought Erik dumped 14% more of SDICE on mpex or something.)

It would be wonderful if people realized that Ripple is worthless as a currency and payment system, and is only useful as a centralized "decentralized" exchange interface.

my wallet had an encryption pw on it too....no idea how someone hacked that and stole my .dat files
Read this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=167866.0If your wallet is sync'd then you are not hacked. You have multiple addresses, including the ones that are not displayed (change addresses).

Don't complain about it, cause you're getting banned if you say anything bad in chat.

The first few people to start mining must have gotten upto 50,000 each and are holding on to em. Not a premine, but it's not exactly good distribution either. It presents just the same dangers to the currency.
Not everybody has all day to click refresh on the crypto board or have a nudge from someone. There was something like a 12-24 hour window and that was that.
It was a premine, Bryan Mills "Maria2.0" started mining hours before announcing.

the premine was kinda "hidden"....
what I heard was that reward for first 1000 blocks was 5000, then 500, then settleing down to 50... no one except the developers got in on the early early coins i believe... but i'm going off memory here and don't have time to find posts atm, but it in the Bytecoin main thread
That's mincoin. -- Bytecoin had discrete premine IIRC.
