5441  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2020 Halving on: March 05, 2019, 05:50:20 PM
Logically speaking, after every halving, there are less number of bitcoins that can be mined which means the supply is going to exhaust.
If the supply is exhausted then there will no new bitcoins that can be sold. Hence the demand will increase over the time.
So logically, every halving should increase the price of bitcoin creating an increase in demand and I hope the same happens in 2020.
5442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: “Cryptos” - A new tv show about cryptocurrency on: March 05, 2019, 05:36:42 PM
Don't get me wrong, but I expect bullshit.
It is like movies about trading. There are 2 kinds of movies:
1. Where some genius trader forsaw a market crash and shorted everything.
2. Someone found some insights about some companies and tried to get some easy money.
Both cases have almost nothing in common with trading.

I bet that something similar gonna happen again. They will show how some guys are getting free money in the bull market for early investing and how they are using this wonderful opportunity to make their movie, become financially independent and many other good things that many heard about.
I bet you didn't even bother to open the given link. The storyline says the overall plot of the show which seems decent to me.
I can't predict if the show will go good or bad but reading the storyline tells me that the show can go pretty well or will at least receive good support from the crypto community if cryptocurrencies are portrayed in a positive way in the show. Anyway, since it is still in the development stage I just hope that the show comes live some day and should not screw up somewhere just to end up not being telecasted on TV.
5443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cross Blockchain Interoperability using Lightning Network on: March 05, 2019, 02:44:47 PM
Just thinking about the Lightning Network made me think over its possibilities. I have 2 more questions to ask and I don't want to create another thread for it.

1. If the LN supports cross Blockchain interoperability through Atomic Swap or any other medium, is it possible to use the LN to send altcoins like ETH from one address to another ?
Example: Sending ether from one address to another using Lightning Network

2. Although I have read that LN requires to open a channel between two nodes to make transactions but is it possible to use one channel to make transactions from multiple nodes.
Example: Starbucks opening a channel while the customers use it to make transactions instead of every customer requiring to open a channel with Starbucks.

If any of you guys think that these questions are silly then kindly drop a link below to a thread/article that has a detailed and easy understanding of the LN.
5444  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Automating freebitco.in through Selenium Webdriver on: March 05, 2019, 01:56:17 PM
You might get more helpful answers in the official thread itself.

But it seems to me, you can't "play without captcha" unless you unlock the no-captcha bonus at the site, which can only be done by either buying lottery tickets or playing the dice game there... both which require you spending some deposits.

There are two methods through which we can 'Roll' on freebitco.in . The first method is to choose any option from their list of things to do for playing without captcha which includes depositing a certain amount or buying lottery tickets and the second option is to click on 'Play without captcha' button on their homepage. The second method deducts 2 reward points from your account and enables us to click on 'Roll' without solving any captcha.

I did find all the elements through xpath and I have also given a wait time of 5 seconds but still the error exists that the element was not found.
Would you mind sharing your code with me through PM?
Sure. Done PMing you the code.
5445  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: small gains but cant make it big on: March 04, 2019, 03:09:04 PM
Been involved in the crypto market about 18 months and getting back into it this year after not doing much at the end of last year. I am trying to figure out the best straggly for building my portfolio with the aim of 20x my investments is euro terms by year end by trading, long term investments or staking
Since doing more trading in the last few months I have noticed a pattern. I seem to be able to double small investments in shit coins quickly like in a week or so and get 30-50% gains in a few days but cant compound that long term or with higher amount of cash. When I say low amount of cash I mean like 50€. I have one investment of 50€ and based on current estimates I should have doubled that in a few days
Now obviously if I could compound that weekly or monthly it would be amazing but cant do it. Heck even if I could double €1000 every month and remove profits it would be life changing.

Any advice on moving to the next level or what I need to look at in order to reach my goals
Did I read 'Staking'. Is that even alive yet? You gotta invest some huge load of money if you think Staking should earn you a good profit.
I was done with staking 2 years ago since I found that my investment won't get me a profitable amount.

For the latter part, you are being too optimistic here. I won't say you not to be optimistic but you must know that if you could earn huge profits quickly then you can also loose equal amount of money instantly.
It's you who should decide whether you should take the risk or not because nobody will tell you to invest more than you can afford to loose.
5446  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto companies complain they’re being shunned by most banks on: March 03, 2019, 10:36:22 AM
This is quite obvious to expect from banks because the reputation of Cryptocurrencies and ICOs has not been good over the time. Both of these have gained popularity recently.
Banks basically hate cryptos because they think it will disrupt banks and will take away their profits. Banks don't believe in ICOs because most of the ICOs in 2017 turned out to be scam.
Just as the ICO space was gaining popularity and growing in size they started scamming people. Many people lost most of their money due to this and hence the era of ICO was over before it could start properly.
Such incidents has created a negative impact which is why banks and financial institutions opt to stay out of it.
5447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Worst case scenario in the crypto industry on: March 03, 2019, 10:21:36 AM
So let me take you guys back to 2018, where many start-up projects after their fund raising scheme will not list on the market.

Many of this projects said they will list Q4 2018 because they too where expecting a bull run at the end of the year.

This show how unprofessional many of this guys are, they just wake up from nowhere and they lunched a startup of something they barely understand how it worked.

Now everyone got disappointed the bull disappointed them and now they frustrate the investors by listing below ico price

This guys are one of our problems in cryptocurrency, bunch of unprofessional lads wanting to see a bullrun and make quick cash and leave.

Once again I am happy the bull run has no specific timing, let's see who survives and who doesn't
How are you certain that all the ICO owners list their coins below the ICO price. I don't think this must be the case since listing below the ICO price will cause them a bigger loss than to the investors.
You must have heard that most of the ICO launches bounty campaigns and I know that once the ICO is complete most of these bounty hunters dump their tokens.
This is the reason that causes a price dump in the beginning of a token/coin getting listed on an exchange. The potential of a coin is only known after this period when the coin recovers.
5448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The misunderstandings in KYC (know your customer) on: March 03, 2019, 09:16:51 AM
I have seen many hunters talk about the kyc with utmost hatred. Many wants kyc removed, many thinks it's not fair for hunters, while some say it shouldn't be for hunters, because hunters are not investors.

But the point is, if the company or start-up project asks for kyc from hunters, they are not wrong in any way.

Kyc are not for investors only, as long as you will hold or holds a company's or start-up project equity share and have voting rights, you are a customer. What this simply means is that whether you bought the token or through bounty hunting but holds this token with the so called investors, there is no different between you hunter and an investor with cash.

Both of you holds the same token from this company and share equal right with them, which means that what an investor can do an this particular company, you as hunter holding the same token can do also.

The only difference is that the investors invested their cash and you invested your time and both of you holds the same token and shares equal rights.  So if you say that you can't pass through kyc because you are a hunter, then you are the cheater
I have seen hunters getting angry on ICO teams because of KYC verification and I do agree with them to certain extent.
The point is that the announcement of KYC is done after the ICO is over which I think is wrong. If an ICO wants a KYC then they should be announcing it before the ICO and campaign starts.
What is the point of announcing a KYC after the ICO is over ? It does feel like they are cheating us because many hunters don't like KYC or don't want to undergo a KYC.
Hence they loose their effort and time in the bounty campaign.
5449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do "premium" or "pro" antivirus help on transactions on smartphones? on: March 03, 2019, 07:47:37 AM
To name a few,

avast, bitdefender, mcaffe, ... etc..

As the subject says. do they really provide enough security with transactions especially in crypto?

No bud. You are taking it all wrong. Firstly an antivirus is not at all necessary in smartphones since most smartphones these days are either Android or iOS.
Both of these Operating Systems are quite secure and doesn't get affected by viruses easily. So you don't need any antivirus for your smartphone.
Even if you install an antivirus on your smartphone it will not add any layer of security to crypto transactions.

For Desktop/Laptop PCs you can install an anti-malware application that can remove any malwares in your PC. Malware Bytes would be best one in this case.
Windows Defender comes pre-installed in Windows Operating Systems which as a pretty good security against viruses. So you would just need an anti-malware app for better security on your PC.
This will ensure that your PC is safe from viruses and hence your crypto transactions will be safe.
5450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Cross Blockchain Interoperability using Lightning Network on: March 02, 2019, 05:56:46 PM
I just read it on cointelegraph and was wondering if it even was possible to perform a cross blockchain transaction. According to the article a crypto startup TenX tested the use of its cross-blockchain interoperability protocol to exchange Ethereum’s (ETH) ERC20 protocol tokens for Bitcoin using the Lightning Network. This fascinated me and made we wonder if it is possible on the Lightning Network and on the bitcoin blockchain ?  If it was possible how would it determine the exchange rate ?

Drop in your commetns/suggestions.
5451  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: yobit about to take off ? on: March 02, 2019, 04:11:13 PM
Why would you even trust yobit ? I know my times when I started using yobit. It was all good but as soon as yobit started adding a ton of shitcoins I somewhere came to knew that this has to end.
The investbox feature of yobit was one hell of a thing. The returns were quite moderate and grabbed many traders attention. There are many pump and dump coins on yobit.
Yobit keeps adding shitcoins and keeps adding forked coins which makes the site look like trash. It was then that I decided to leave using yobit as I didn't find it trustworthy.
I knew that someday it is going to run away with everybody's money and I have to switch to another exchange before that happens. Currently I use binance.
5452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - the Chain of Knowledge on: March 02, 2019, 02:54:49 PM
I had some bad experiences too in the beginning days which lead to my account getting banned.
Welp! You're walking on thin ice there! Was the account temp banned or perma-banned? If it's later, then your this account will be questioned.

But the learning never stopped. I started earning bitcoin through faucets, campaigns, bounty, staking etc.. which then I reinvested in altcoins. This way I managed to handle my expenses and later started saving money. Bitcoin and Bitcointalk both changed my life for the good. I am thankful to my friend and to the people of the bitcointalk forum for giving me such a good opportunity.
Since I was blessed with such an opportunity it was my time to do something for someone. Recently I met a guy on some crypto whatsapp group. He was a beginner to bitcoin and needed money which reminded me myself from the past. I thought this the time I had been waiting for and  I started teaching him whatever I knew. Now he has started earning crypto too and he thanks me for that. I said him not to thank me and said him that once a person taught me to use bitcoin and earn money through it and I did the same to you. I said him to teach the same to others and I hope that this Chain of Knowledge never stops.
It's a nice story. We all had our learning phases and we share the same knowledge which is how this community has survived for this long. Keep doing te good work with adhering to the forum rules. Smiley
I was fortunate enough that it wasn't a permaban but since it was the first time I got banned I did feel like it was a permanent one.
Later, I re-read those red lines on top of the page and came to know that it was a temporary one.
5453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance DEX launching trading competition - $100,000 worth BNB for rewards. on: March 02, 2019, 02:41:27 PM
Am I understand it correctly that holding 1BNB coin will give you 1 Free test net BNB coin that will later be converted to a real one?
That's not correct bud. If you read the whole article carefully you can notice that they have said that holding 1 BNB will make us eligible to take part in the competition.
We will get 200 virtual BNB tokens on the testnet which we can use to test the platform. If we win the competition only then we will get the rewards.
5454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Binance DEX launching trading competition - $100,000 worth BNB for rewards. on: March 02, 2019, 02:30:37 PM
The most popular exchange Binance is launching their Decentralized trading platform Binance DEX and want some traders to test their platform.
They are launching a testnet trading competition to test Binance DEX and will reward $100,000 equivalent of BNB to traders who participate in it.
The competition starts on March 7 and ends on March 21 and every Binance account that holds at least 1 BNB will be eligible to take part in the competition.

Try finding it with the element’s xpath. You can get an browser extension that gets any button’s/element’s full xpath, so it won't miss it.
I did find all the elements through xpath and I have also given a wait time of 5 seconds but still the error exists that the element was not found.
5456  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin - the Chain of Knowledge on: March 01, 2019, 05:50:42 PM
This was during the days when Facebook used to be a hit and most of the people used to stay online for hours on Facebook. It was the first year of my Graduation and coming from a middle class family I had little to no pocket money for my expenses. I used to search for online jobs but as you all know 99% of them are fake. I had met this guy on Facebook and we became good friends. He introduced me to bitcoin and the bitcointalk forum.
I was fascinated by bitcoin and the blockchain technology. As I was a beginner to bitcoin I had many doubts related to many things and my friend taught me most of the things. I learnt many things from this forum.
I had some bad experiences too in the beginning which lead to a temporary ban . But the learning never stopped. I started earning bitcoin through faucets, campaigns, bounty, staking etc.. which then I reinvested in altcoins. This way I managed to handle my expenses and later started saving money. 5457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy FB Cryptocurrency on Popular Exchanges on: March 01, 2019, 05:27:35 PM
Why don't you post the link to the site from where you read the news ? A link to the original articles always helps people to understand the given content with higher accuracy.
It also acts as a proof of what you are posting. The thing you are saying involves highly reputed company and this cannot be spoken just like that.
Besides all of this, your post is a little ambiguous as there is no mention of when the coin will be launched, where will it be initially released etc..
Kindly post the link to the original article so that we can understand the context of the news.
5458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Steve Wozniak former Apple ceo is asked about his view on bitcoin on: March 01, 2019, 04:51:15 PM
While talking about facebook, AI and future technologies the reporter asks his view on bitcoin and this is what he has to say
It begins at the 4 minute mark if you just want to skip to that part of the interview.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2f55VpFC5o

He was wanting to own some was for experimental purposes and not to make any financial gains from purchasing it. He sold before the price went up so he didnt make anything from his holdings.
But he says he sees it as the worlds single currency one day.
Steve Wozniak must be a pretty unlucky person for having to sell his bitcoins for no profit price. Although he bought it for experimental purposes, it surely didn't make him any profits.
Besides that, I wonder what experiment did he wanted to do with bitcoin  Grin . His insight to see bitcoin as an only global currency is far too beyond in the future.
I think he could have been a little more realistic before making such statements.
5459  Economy / Service Discussion / Automating freebitco.in through Selenium Webdriver on: March 01, 2019, 09:27:28 AM
As you all know that freebitco.in is a faucet that gives few Satoshis for visiting the site and clicking on the Roll button.
I tried automating this process through Selenium Webdriver and reached to the poin where we have to enter the captcha. Since entering the captcha wasn't feasible I tried clicking on 'Play without captcha' but the code fails there. The reason being that the  browser was not able to find the element. I did check it again and the element was still present.
I tried this just for fun but am curious now why did the code fail. Does anyone here has the knowledge of Selenium and can help me fix my code ?
5460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not intended to be a stock. Blockchain has nothing to do with price on: February 27, 2019, 05:29:19 PM
You are absolutely right mate. Bitcoin is not being used as a technology but is being used as an asset. There are a lot of speculators in the market now.
We can say that the majority dominance in the crypto community is filled with speculators. Well it's not bad because bitcoin is growing eventually.
But the fact that Bitcoin is not being used as a currency and is being used as an asset/stock to trade in the market.
I guess when wide adoption of bitcoin takes place and there are large number of stores accepting bitcoin then BTC will be used more as a currency  and less as an asset.
