What a start form Indian team openers they are making four's and six's rain there already scored 108/0 runs in 8 overs it looking Indian team going to give very big target for west indies well going Raul and Rohit.

Absolute mayhem out there and India has scored 132/0 after 11 overs. None of the West Indian bowlers have escaped punishment and it looks very likely that India may amass another 100 to 120 runs in the remaining 9 overs. We can expect a total of 230 to 250 and all that West Indies can do now is to pray to the god and hope for the best.  Grin

Follow up news in India's ODI squad against the Windies, originally it was posted in T-20 thread but new update is regarding ODI so posting here.

Mayank Agarwal is replacement of Sikhar Dhawan in ODI but nothing to excited about i guess, We already know what happened to Samson who was T-20 replacement for the same player (Sikhar). he's warming up the bench.

Some of the Indian fans misbehaved with Virat Kohli during the second T20I (which was played at Trivandrum, Kerala). I agree that Sanju Samson is a good player. But you can't really misbehave with the team selectors or team captain, if your favorite player doesn't get selected. I think Virat was also quite irritated by the crowd behavior and I am sure that this incident is not going to help Samson in any way.

Srilankans are in trouble 129/4, Pakistan have bounced back hard in the second session picking up four wickets. Now SL have to find a solid parternship from this point. If Angelo Mathews and de Silva are gone, then I believe, Pak will win this match.

It is a home match for Pakistan, and yet they have refrained from making the pitch pace-friendly. Their pace bowlers were struggling (especially Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah). But to their credit, they prevented the Sri Lankan batsmen from building big partnerships and the Lankans were unable to convert 40s and 50s to three digit scores. But there is big question about rain. We can expect rain interruptions for the next 2-3 days at Rawalpindi.

West Indies looking really clueless out there, and India has scored 44/0 after 4 overs. Both Rahul and Rohit are slamming the West Indies bowlers all over the park. Even the reliable Sheldon Cottrell has gone for a lot of runs, and I won't be surprised if India builds a score in excess of 220 or even 240. This is a repeat of the recent T20 series against Bangladesh.
5445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats the future of Altcoin on: December 10, 2019, 05:54:31 PM
Regulation will help altcoin to increase and with regulation fake Altcoins will be weeded out and market for altcoins will turn and bounce back normal

Regulation alone won't do any wonders. Altcoins will survive if and only if they can have some real life usage. Right now, less than 1% of all the circulating altcoins have any practical usage. If they can't be useful in real life, then they will obviously die out very soon. There can be a few exceptions such as the DOGECOIN, but such coins will be few and far between.
5446  Economy / Economics / Re: Does China Control Bitcoin? on: December 10, 2019, 05:48:09 PM
In fact, this issue is quite controversial. But in my opinion the Chinese still hold a lot of bitcoins but they are not really controlling the market. The majority of bitcoin mining locations in China are owned by foreign investors. Therefore, you can see that when it is bright in European and American countries, the market is always very volatile. This proves that people in Europe hold more bitcoins. right?

The mining pools are competing with each other and therefore they don't have any collective bargaining power. Else, they would have formed cabals among themselves, and started blackmailing the Bitcoin users for higher transaction fee. There were some attempts in this direction during 2017-18, when some of the mining pools refused to include those transactions which paid a lower tx fee in the blocks that they mined.

Does anyone bets on Ranji Trophy matches too? I think they are too boring and unpopular to bet on? But would love to know from anyone about how they place their bets in such matches and what are their strategies because I think most of the players are unknown and quite inconsistent too.
I am sure there are betting lines for Ranji trophy matches, you could see betting lines for private cricket tournament in major sports book and if you see those betting lines then it will be a surprise if Ranji matches does not have betting lines. I have not placed a bet in these tournaments but serious gamblers will be looking at these tournaments to make money as it is easily to manipulate these matches than international matches .

I completely agree with what you said. Right now there is a lot of controversy surrounding a match fixing scandal involving the Karnataka Premier League (KPL). Some of the players have been arrested (Nishanth Singh Shekhawat, CM Gautam and Abrar Kazi) for match fixing and many more are being investigated. These players are very vulnerable, as their salaries are really low.

Ranji Trophy tournament (Indian 4-day domestic competition) got underway yesterday, and there were some notable performances in the first day itself. Rex Singh of Manipur took 8/22 against Mizoram and he was batting unbeaten on 58 at stumps. Ravichandran Ashwin bowled 21 overs in a single spell, to finish with figures of 1/68 against Karnataka. Robin Uthappa scored a century for Kerala, against Delhi.
Good to hear that, i did not know that Robin Uthappa was playing for Kerala in Ranji trophy as he was playing for Bangalore earlier even though he was basically from Kerala, i guess this is the first day and it is not that disappointing to see Ashwin not getting much purchase in the first day but the pitch will start helping the spinners by the third day.

That match (Karnataka vs Tamil Nadu) is probably the most exciting Ranji Trophy match ongoing right now. We have a number of star players appearing in that match, including Mayank Agarwal and Karun Nair for Karnataka and Murali Vijay, Vijay Shankar, Dinesh Karthik and Ravichandran Ashwin appearing for TN. And it looks as if Karnataka is having an advantage.
5449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 10, 2019, 05:29:55 PM
The problem right now is that there is too much talent waiting to get selected in the team and with the rotation policy the players warming the bench will not have any major match practice and it is good to see that the BCCI is allowing these players to have some rhythm rather than getting selected and not play any competitive match and for allowing them to play for their state team.

The quality of the first class matches in India is very low when compared to that in countries such as Australia and England. One of the reasons is that in India we have too many first class sides (38 as per the latest count). And among them are teams such as Mizoram and Sikkim, which regularly gets bowled out for scores less than 100. A major revamp is badly needed in the domestic circuit.
5450  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you use FB's Libra? on: December 10, 2019, 03:30:53 PM
I think if someone has Facebook account they will use it, me too, I'm curious how would it look like. However, it hasn't been launched yet so it's hard to say, it could turn out that Libra is completely unworthy of attention.

The chances of Libra getting released anytime soon looks very remote. From what I can infer from Mark Zuckerberg's recent statements, it looks like he is looking for a honorable exit. The technology and complexities associated with cryptocurrency was more difficult than he ever imagined and as a result he has decided to pause the project and move on with other priorities.
5451  Economy / Economics / Re: Coinbase Holds a Whopping 966,230 Bitcoin ($7B) in Cold Wallet on: December 10, 2019, 03:24:26 PM
If they hold that much amount in the cold wallet, then my opinion is that they should get some sort of an insurance, or get additional security measures. They should have hidden their holdings, as this news is definitely going to attract hordes of hacker groups. The amount stolen from Mt Gox was BTC650,000. And what Coinbase have in their cold wallets is even higher.

The series between Australia and New Zealand are always competitive and earlier Australia used to dominate every team but for a while they lost to India in their home soil and now they have bounced back and started performing well after the return of Steven Smith and Warner after suspension and the series depends upon which team is able to pick 20 wickets, both New Zealand and Australia have in form batsman and hence the bowlers are crucial to determine the fate of the series.

Australia is almost unbeatable at home. What India did was something unbelievable. But now I don't think that New Zealand stand a chance, because all the Australian players seems to be in good form. In addition to Steve Smith, players such as David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne are scoring well. And Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins seems to be on peak form.
5453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Super League (ISL) Football match updates, predictions and discussions on: December 10, 2019, 03:04:14 PM
Now all the teams have completed 7 matches each, and as expected the strongest two teams are on top (ATK and Bengaluru FC). At the bottom we have the three weakest teams - Kerala Blasters FC, Chennaiyin FC and Hyderabad FC. During their last match, Chennaiyin had a very good chance of getting 3 points, but they allowed Jamshedpur to equalize with just 1 minute to spare.
5454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 10, 2019, 02:53:56 PM
the problem with Chahal and Yadav is that they are sidelined for a long time and the lack of match experience will not make things better either.

Kuldeep Yadav played only two matches in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (Indian domestic T20 competition), while Yuzvendra Chahal participated in almost all the matches involving his home team (Haryana). So it looks to me that Chahal is better prepared. But I can't guarantee the quality of the matches, as some of the matches Chahal played were against teams such as Mizoram and Meghalaya.
5455  Economy / Economics / Re: Malaysia to Limit Cash Transactions in 2020 on: December 08, 2019, 05:51:32 AM
I have been following this news for months now, the truth is we will only find out more next year, this sanction was actually placed this year somewhere around March but the only people affected was just the minimum wage earners, big time businessmen was not affected but again we will see next year how much they push it, for crypto adaptation in Malaysia, it is already becoming a big deal, there are new people joining the crypto family from Malaysia but the second issue is that many of them have no experience and jumping in with two feet and i think that might be a problem because lots of them might fall to crypto scams and this will also cause negative effect in the community, i would advise more awareness be created for new crypto users in Malaysia for more understanding.

I don't think that this will be successful. A lot many countries have tried to limit the circulation of physical cash, and none of them become successful in doing it. Even here in India, the government has been trying the same since 2014, but still there are no concrete results. Most of the transactions are being done in physical cash. And now I guess they have stopped encouraging digital payments as well.
5456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 08, 2019, 05:43:25 AM
It should be a real test of characters and the players as both team are the best in their own way and with return of form of Warner the OZ team will also put up the best fight against the good NZ pacers attack. It should be a real fun and exciting cricketing days ahead.

New Zealand is one of the teams that has improved their quality of the game over the past few years. Perhaps they are the only team outside the Big 3 to have managed that. Although a part of the credit should be given to South African-born players who now plays for New Zealand (Neil Wagner, Colin de Grandhomme, BJ Watling.etc). I give 50/50 chance to NZ to win this series against Australia.
5457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 08, 2019, 05:35:32 AM
Who do you think will win today's match between India. And West Indies.

Last match was the best match when India set a new record of chasing a big total.
Both teams have a brilliant batting line up and the game changer was Kohli' s batting last time.

Unless the Indians get overconfident and complacent (which happened during the second T20I versus Bangladesh), they should win the match. West Indies team bonding is still not there, and they need to concentrate on their bowling. All the bowlers apart from Cottrell failed last time. Walsh, Holder, Williams.etc needs to give support to Sheldon Cottrell, if they want to defeat India.
5458  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-12-02] 5 Small Chinese Crypto Exchanges Shut Down in November 2019 on: December 07, 2019, 07:03:49 AM
Although competition is a good thing, what happening with the exchanges is not something that is advisable. There are too many of them out there, and many of them are being operated by individuals with shady credentials. I think we'll be better if there are a few dozen crypto-exchanges out there, instead of the current number of a few thousands.
5459  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is absolutely not good for India Bitcoin community! on: December 07, 2019, 06:49:39 AM
Is India want to ban crypto again? Did they know that real ban is impossible?

I don't think that they are going to ban cryptocurrency. The former Finance Secretary of India (Subhash Chandra Garg) had suggested a complete ban on ownership and trading of cryptocurrency in India, making it a punishable offence with up to 10 years in jail. But he was fired from his post and kicked out before he could implement his plans. Now let's see what Shaktikanta Das will do about it.
5460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Getting scammed on: December 07, 2019, 06:43:38 AM
The best solution for this is to complete the KYC process before the start of the bounty. But the campaign managers and the ICO promoters don't want to do that, because they know that they can scam the bounty hunters and get away with it. At the most, their bitcointalk account may get tagged as scammer. But it is OK, since the accounts may be relatively new.
