5461  Economy / Economics / Re: Which is better, staking or investing? on: June 23, 2020, 04:09:13 PM
I think it makes no sense comparing staking to Investing since staking it technically a form of Investing. Probably if you're comparing owning masternoods, staking or buying alts then it would be more realistic since that's what most enthusiast consider to be the difference forms of investing comparing to typically owning bitcoin.

Staking isn't that bad but a very risky form of investment especially when you don't carry out proper research and invest in a worthless shitcoins that's just been hyped and when that hypes dies down they give poor ROI as a result of the price of the coin declining massively.  Also you should rethink the mode of staking your investing into as giving your coins to a third party or not owning the private key to the wallet the coins are been staked in is as foolish as storing your coins on an exchange.
5462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New documentary: Bitcoin Revolution in Africa on: June 23, 2020, 01:25:40 PM
Saw the title and was doubting if it'll actually show the real deal but since I saw Luno in support of the video, I can vouch for the documentary to be worth watching. Luno has done so much for the industry in a very short period of time that no only company has been able to do. Prior to Binance introduction their support for fiat withdrawal in Nigeria, I have been benefiting from withdrawal from Luno effortlessly without much issue. Some months ago they even upgraded their processing time that it makes it easier to get your withdraw within minutes of withdrawing the your Local currency.

I haven't watched the documentary although I'm not planning to do so either. I think we have a long way to go in regards to bitcoin addition in Africa, we still don't have steady light, water or internet connection at the moment and for most areas where those things are available they're costly.
5463  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What is currently a good place to trade Bitcoin? on: June 23, 2020, 01:09:18 PM
Why so concerned about their KYC or are you planning on storing your coins on the exchange (if you're then you should rethink that decision). Most exchanges let you trade without completing their KYC verification so why bother about their KYC rules and also since your capital isn't that huge, you're unlikely to encounter any issues. Lets assume you trade and make some much profit that if you're to withdraw at once you might encounter some security issue, you can easily avoid that by withdrawing in batches to stay under the radar.

There are other popular exchanges that are similar to Binance in terms of liquidity, popularity and user experience that you can research more on, here's a list Top cryptocurrency spot exchange.

5467  Economy / Economics / Re: Very strange most people like to buy with bitcoin , but using altcoins very few on: June 20, 2020, 09:18:55 AM
Not all altcoins are cryptocurrency as some are utility tokens (when they operate on other blockchain) or utility coin (when they operate on their own native blockchain) and a perfect example is ethereum and Binance coin. So when you ask why people don't used alts compare to bitcoin, you should also understand that when you use utility tokens as currency you're using them wrongly. Ether wasn't meant to serve a currreny like bitcoin.

Irrespective of them been cheaper in regards to miners fees and probably more faster via transaction confirmation speed, you don't expect them to be used for something they weren't created for. The trust and popularity is also another factor you should put into consideration as bitcoin is the most trust/popular  cryptocurrency of them all and all enthusiast both buyer and seller would prefer using the most trusted of any technology.
5468  Economy / Economics / Re: A very positive sign: 39% of companies now have blockchain in production on: June 20, 2020, 09:02:33 AM
It doesn't also translate to the adoption of cryptocurrency or bitcoin in be specific. The blockchain technology has evolved to the extent that it can be adoption without adopting bitcoin I cryptocurrency in general like what most early enthusiast thought. Ethereum has made it even very possible for the technology to be easily implemented in most field of life like the transport sector, Power sector etc.

Even before this report you speak off, it was clearly obvious that most big tech companies are developing something as from time to time we saw news of big tech companies carrying out research related to the technology or appointing previous workers of a blockchain project in their company. It's just a matter of time before the technology goes viral as all companies begin to accept/adopt it which will indirectly create awareness for rge cryptocurrencies.

Just curious has payment for round 3 been made?

Edit: Just needed a simple and direct answer, if there's anyone I trust 100% on the forum is obviously @Hhampuz 🤗 not part of the campaign anymore so just thought the ANN was forgotten and since I'm not much in contact with my old wallet to confirm if payment has been made, was just curious.

Small delay as I am waiting for vipgame to refill the wallet.

No worries thanks for the reply.
5470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: June 18, 2020, 08:51:12 AM
I don't understand why they did not start the 2nd half with a 1-0 score for Sheffield. The refs must have known that it was a goal during the halftime.

Is it safe to say this was a fix match that was meant to end in a draw because that's how I see this scenario. It's very disappointing when we were all anticipating the resumption of the league and they welcome us with such unprofessionalism.

I don't know if they have grounds to change result at the half time and nobody likes to make decions like that on their own. Why take responsibility if he was covered by the tech? I can understand his point of the view as well.

I think they should have the ground since I have watch matches that had penalty awarded after the break of first half that had the foul committed before the first half break, lol (no joke here).
5471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: June 18, 2020, 08:39:50 AM
I have never thought that Napoli can win against Juventus in the final match. It is a surprising win of Napoli even they made it in penalty shootouts. Who knows the defeat in Coppa Italia is a signal of the end of Juventus domination in Italy over nearly one decade. The race to Serie A title is so tight between Juventus and Lazio, let's see.

Well, they didn't actually win, though. They did exactly as they have done throughout the campaign, try and wear down bigger opponents and settle for a penalty shootout. They got to the finals by drawing too. Ronaldo and Juventus have been poor in several games now (relative to what they should be producing).

Juventus has lost two finals with Ronaldo automatically making him to loss two consecutive fginals for the first time ever. As a fan, I'm beginning to think it was a mistake for him coming to Italy. Before his arrival, Juventus has been very dominant so either the problem is from him (Ronaldo) not fitting well into the playing system of Juventus to bring the best out of him or Sarri bad luck has followed him back to Italy.

Sarri isn't known for winning medals, Chelsea (hazard) single handling gave him his first title then he taught he could get more by joining a dominant club lol.

You guess that right although I'm not the original creator, seen CZ (Binance CEO) used it numerous times especially when he's trying to sell the Binance goals lol.

Thanks to all the congratulating message as it was awesome seeing this amount of well wishes from the community although, the journey just began as their are other goals I'm interested completing both on and off the forum and hopefully I will do them in the soonest time possible.

PS: You need a laptop now :-P

I really do but not in a rush as I just don't want any laptop but the one of my dreams and I'm very positive I'll get that soon. Started saving towards it.
5473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: June 17, 2020, 10:01:25 PM

I hope to see much better football in City - Arsenal game.

This was also a boring supposenly big team opening match which I regretted watching. I didn't bother watching the early game but the controversial disapproval of the goals got my attention from the highlight which was displayed before the kick-off of the Manchester city vs Arsenal game.

If other games would be like the Man City vs Arsenal game (just one sided and boring) then they should just end the season lol. Anyone else feels that, the 5 substitution rule is just too much, it didn't feel like i was watching a competitive game instead a club friendly.
5474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: June 17, 2020, 09:46:11 PM
It's so far Manchester City 2:0 Arsenal. Substitute David Luiz taking down Arsenal Single-handedly  Grin
After coming on in the 24th minute due to an Injury to Pablo Mari, he makes a blunder that leads to a goal in first half. As if that was not enough, he then makes a foul that leads to a penalty and earns him a red card 5 minutes into the second half

I get it when there's failure we always look for someone to put the blame on. Luis played badly no doubt but arsenal as a team where just poor and couldn't match city's determination to win the game. City miss many chances and could have easily scored more goals than the number they scored in the first half.

Even after Luis recieved the the red card, arsenal game didn't improve irrespective of them been at disadvantage of one man. They would had atleast show so fighting desire but that wasn't seen which resulted to the three instant change.

Even when the players on the field were even as a result of one of city's players getting injured and no room for substitution they (Arsenal) still couldn't get themselves on the scoreboard, which was a poor performance.

Forgive me for my topic title but it seems I couldn't find a better title, so decide to go with the very first idea that comes to mind then remembered this experience (qouted below) like it happened yesterday.

Your Activity dropped from 336 to 170, which means you've done some serious housekeeping. And you've dropped the bold font! I'm glad to see some people are willing to change their spam, so keep going like this Smiley

For the Christian on the forum, the famous qoute by Jesus "Go and sin no more" anything he encountered a sinner was exactly how I viewed this encountered by @LoyceV. Without this encounter probably I would had still been one of the less productive users of the forum. But since that day, I noticed my progression on the forum, from having just 10 airdropped smerits to earning my first 100 smerits, ranking up to full member and now I'm having over 1000 smerits plus just achieve the Legendary rank status.

Just had to celebrate myself because it isn't easy and I couldn't have done it without the support of all those that found my work worthy of encouragement. Guess it's no longer a news that what ever you set your mind to achieving, you can do it whether it's on the forum or in the real world. This thread should serve as an encouragement to the noobs on the forum, not to give up on themselves and be willing to accept correction and improve and also to the higher ranked/experience members not to give up on helping the new member so we can keep on having a progressive forum.

Thanks
I'm Legendary 🙏

Just want to pause and bring the awareness of those that'll be viewing this thread to the initiative by @Royse777 called Project Covid-19, and this initiative is open to suggestions, support etc that'll help make it become a success in regards to exposure, funding through sponsorship or donations etc.

I have carried out some tasks myself;

5476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some of the benefits of Bitcoin ... on: June 17, 2020, 05:20:18 AM
Some of the benefits of Bitcoin ... Smiley Smiley

The reason why Bitcoin is becoming so popular all over the world is that it offers users many times more benefits than the currencies that are currently in circulation. For example, I can use Bitcoin to buy many things online. I enjoy many benefits by paying bitcoin. Nowadays it is becoming known as the ideal currency.

Many things online? Well this isn't an advantage over the traditional fiat currency, since we have numerous of them including the centralized digital currency providers like PayPal, Visa and Master card that could be used easily to purchase thing online but the advantage comes into play when you intend transacting peer2peer without involving an intermediate.

Bitcoin has improved on herself in regards to achieving global adoption but we're not yet close to completing that dream anytime soon therefore I don't buy into your idea of of people seeing bitcoin as an idea currency instead it's been seen mainly as an asset class use as investment to give profit.

In regards to the popularity, it's quite obvious since the evidence are everywhere. The mainstream media has the currency name on their lips almost every week and the government aren't shy of the name either although at the moment this advert are usually from the negative angle.
5477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin Is Old Tech But.... on: June 17, 2020, 05:06:43 AM
If Bitcoin is old tech, hard to scale,  and slow transaction speed, why don't we turn our focus to another cryptocurrency which solves these challenges? Is Bitcoin just enjoying the benefits of the first? How long would this be?

Other are just copycat and if we're to shift our focus to the so called better cryptocurrency that means we will have to keep shifting our focus as better and new ones will be developed daily per se just improving on a particular aspect of the parent cryptocurrency just to profit from the supposed hype that'll be recieve from improving on already existing technology.

We stick to bitcoin because it has proven without any doubt it's intention to make the currency Industry a more decentralized and better one and not been promoted by some selfish CEO like other cryptocurrency in the market. The technology is still under development and it's been improved in when the opportunity presents itself.

We're just into the first decade of the existence of the  cryptocurrency and look how well it has done in achieving adoption and price appreciation. Just keep believing in the technology and you won't regret.
5478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a Bad Safe Haven Asset on: June 17, 2020, 04:56:52 AM
Although in the current crisis, the trading volume of crypto assets is increasing, it merely compensates for the value of other declining assets, such as stocks

So which one among the two asset class you mentioned is a better safe heaven then, is it supposedly the stock that got racked with bitcoin (cryptocurrency) during the market meltdown and couldn't rise back up or bitcoin that went down but has surpassed it's previous highs before the pandemic?

When it comes to picking an asset as a safe heaven I think it basically depends on personal opinion, are you looking for an asset that won't or unlikely to depreciate that much in price when the market get affected or the asset that'll be the most likely to bring you high profit when the market conditions are favorable for growth?.

Personally, I will go with growth in profit instead of security in regards to stable price like Gold.
5479  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Project Covid-19 : An approach to support the Bitcoin community on: June 16, 2020, 06:04:30 AM
Guys I need a discussion to be made here to find a way to expose the project to more users. I have tried with:

Guess is time we try some paid promotion like signature campaign or getting an ad slot on the forum. The free ads got us this far and for we to get more audience we need better exposure which the above suggestion can get us. In regards to the signature campaign we can organize a campaign that'll focus mainly on certain boards like bitcoin discussion and other technical boards, trading/economy and gambling discussion etc and also the signature code should be a little more direct in the ads it displays. It should state clearly that their donation are needed to finance the project.

Unlike previous campaign this should be more serious and pay interest prompters like regular campaign but in a lower budget (we can discuss what the payout will be), no doubt we'll still have volunteers and in regards to getting a quality manager that won't be a problem since many would be interested in this charity and I'm also available to offer my services (obviously free).
5480  Other / Meta / Re: "Forum User's Day" on: June 16, 2020, 05:32:06 AM
In practice, this gives a huge positive result. Traffic on the forum is growing sharply and advertisers pay increased fees to advertise in this topic.

No offense but don't think the forum is that much interested in this. The forum was not meant to be monetize instead was created as a platform where enthusiast can discuss and interact with each other. If the forum is lacking finance or traffic, there are numerous ways they can achieve that but that's not their number one priority.

Why create a specific day for each user to answer questions which might turn into a burden to that user when you can get that for free everyday by members of the forum who're interested in helping other members out by responding to their questions, inquires and contributing to their topic of discussion without been pressured to do it, just kill the suggestion as it won't be productive.
