5463  Economy / Speculation / Re: How will you celebrate when we surpass Berkshite Hathaway Class A shares? on: August 04, 2015, 11:36:15 PM
I would like to celebrate with the people who will stand till that date you mentioned.

But unforuntately, I will sell all my stash by that date, by 2020-2025 as what I'm working on is to deliver a good and healthy life for my parents in life and and after.

By that age, they will be around mid 70s and I can't wait more to afford them what I will be able to afford in 2020-2025.

After that, I don't know what I will do, but I will always be here, I'm growing with you and I ask God to end my life with you.

Sorry for the much drama, but I wrote what I felt.

Thanks so much for your postive and bullish topic, OP.
5464  Economy / Speculation / Re: $500,000 per Bitcoin, baby. The math behind it. on: August 04, 2015, 06:37:28 PM
Thank you BurtW for elaborating this for me, but I've a question if you don't mind.

Quote
So, in order to keep our power consumption under about 2% of world wide power production, we cannot/do not want the price to get to $500,000 before era 6, which is about 2033 or so.

1. Why would we keep the power consumption under 2% of world wide power production ?

2. Why we cannot/do not want the price to get to $500,000 before era 6, which is about 2033 or so ?

3. Can we reach $500,000 in era 6, which is about 2033 or so ?
5465  Economy / Speculation / Re: $500,000 per Bitcoin, baby. The math behind it. on: August 04, 2015, 07:27:26 AM
http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2014/04/02/bitcoin-price-to-1-million/
The guy from Xapo predicts 500 to 1 MM. I can definitely wait 10 years for that and be a happy man. I hope he is right, and his prediction is accurate. One doesn't make such predictions unless you aren't 100 convinced that it will happen, because making wrong predictions hurts your business and he has a Bitcoin business.

10 years means 3 more halvings, which means the 30% of global electricity estimated to be necessary for 500K today would be down to <4%.

Plausible.

Could you elaborate more on this please.

Thank you.
5466  Economy / Speculation / Re: hodlmybtc speculation thread on: August 04, 2015, 12:27:35 AM
I don't know if I asked you this before or not hodl, what is your medium and long term sentiment ?
5467  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 04, 2015, 12:05:28 AM
I thought the final US marshals auction would be the last big auction on the horizon. However, Italian police have just shut down another copycat site and confiscated US$1 million worth of coins. Whether the Italians auction the coins or sell them some other way is debatable, but they'll dump them sooner or later.

Who gives a shit? That's peanuts compared to previous auctions and ultimately I'd say they had a positive effect when they clearly went into the right hands.

How is that mand, this will dump the price if I'm not mistaken.
5468  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mass adoption? Seriously what would price be? on: August 03, 2015, 09:59:46 PM

Why do I feel you are becoming bearish, mand ?

I'm still neither. A 50,000 Euro valuation is still a tiny amount in terms of global turnover. The world economy would have to be a smoking wasteland to be small enough to be running on BTC at that value.

Totally agree.
5469  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 03, 2015, 09:56:36 PM
get well soon, jimbo and dont forget to rest...

Thanx. Resting is all I'm doing.

Had to cancel out of a campground gig on Saturday that I was really looking forward to, after spending Friday in the hospital on IV antibiotics. Seems what I thought was toker's cough was pneumonia. Gave me a chance to follow the Blue Jays' flurry of trade deadline acquisitions though.

Since then I've been mostly sleeping, absorbing antibiotics, and watching the Jays climb back into a post-season spot.

My bitcoins are doing just fine and are the least of my worries at this point. If we're still under $290 when I get my strength back and get out, I'll buy a few more.

Forgive my ill-mannared acting by not asking about you and wishing you a speedy recovery and all the best Jimbo ?

Welcome back to the bitcoinland and I hope that you will always be here in our long journey.

Take care dear Smiley
5470  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 03, 2015, 09:46:48 PM

Bullish ?
5471  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mass adoption? Seriously what would price be? on: August 03, 2015, 09:43:42 PM
I once read an article stating that if mass adoption was a fact and the world economy would run on bitcoin, €50.000 would be a rough estimate.

If you shut down well over 95% of global trade and destroyed even more wealth then that valuation is absolutely spot on.

Why do I feel you are becoming bearish, mand ?
5472  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much do you think 1 Bitcoin will be worth in 2020? on: August 03, 2015, 09:16:52 PM
It's funny how most of the posters who say something like "it can't get to 10k, that's too much" simply because they think it's too much, not because they have valid reasons why bitcoin will fail are also the people who tend to write illogical sentences with horrible grammar.

I mean if you have valid reasons for why bitcoin will fail, great. Bitcoin is an incredibly risky investment, and there are many problems that need to be solved before it can go mainstream, that is completely true.

Otherwise, saying that bitcoin will remain a few hundred or a few thousand simply because your little brain cannot comprehend the possibility of its price going up is quite laughable. In what scenario will bitcoin be worth $200-1000? If everything else stays exactly the same? That's a ridiculous assumption. Either things improve and bitcoin improves, thus increasing in price many-fold, or nothing happens, in which case people will start losing hope and price will go down. The chances of bitcoin staying at a price that's not so low it's basically dead, and yet not high enough to be relevant in the real world is very, very low. Not impossible, but very low.

I'm willing to bet that every single person who says bitcoin cannot reach 10k in this thread (other than people who thinks it will fail) did not do ANY critical thinking, and only looked at the current price and thinks 10k is too far off. Learn to think critically, people.

Respect !!

Edit : Beside what you said, Satoshi even said it

Could we hear more about you regarding BTC Smiley
5476  Economy / Speculation / Re: PnF TA on: August 03, 2015, 07:57:18 PM
that long term bull trend line really added some colour. Might be the line to watch now.

TPTB so you see gold stay low tilll March next year?

I'm inlcined to see it your way. Can't see bitcoin go up massively if gold is going down.

Great discussion everyone!

this is a curious thing to say

2015 tells a different story.  Orange line is XAUUSD

What you want to say brg ?
