Ok what is causing this???
Yes it has been going down fast, but this is insane!!!!!

Praying this is manipulation so the biggest whales can get cheap coins and now it will rebound to over 300.
Who is praying with me?

Less praying, more buying. I don't think Bitcoiners are much in favor if He must pick sides.

Am I the only one worried about a flash crash here?

Worried? How can it get flashier than this?

2500 BTC in 15min on stamp. I wonder if this will be a ripple thread when I come back from work.

This relentless downward spiral sucks but we HODL.
Nothing else we can do.
I'd rather lose everything than sell now at a loss.
Damn straight

Praise the Bitcoin Jeebus!

Funny how some bulltards vote that we will not go below 250  Grin

It's pretty retarded to call them bulltards then.

Time to bail, folks.  The third largest pool couldn't be this unlucky...very unusual.  2, 3, 4, 6 and 7-hour blocks in regular succession.

What are you suggesting is happening?
5467  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 13, 2015, 08:10:03 AM
man this downward spiral has been going on for a year already. another year, and how many more will still have faith in BTC?

Well, at least we know that it won't drop more than $250 from here.

*wake up see that there's been 30 pages added to this thread*

"oh fuck, something's happened."

Balls of steel is the term.

I, personally, would be happy for all the get-rich-quickers to leave us alone.

Coins worth hundreds of dollars is enough for me. Once again, I doubt I will ever sell my BTC. I will only spend them if and when I can.

Don't worry, I think it's mostly get-poor-quickers left.

I sort of hope we get more real life users soon, rather than just waves of speculators. But I guess that's just me.
In many countries those decisions are up to the lawgivers.

In most countries it is up to Bitcoin companies creating solutions that people want to use.
In China and Russia you cannot purchase anything with bitcoins. Australia has forced an exchange to move to the UK. Many USA bitcoin devs have left the country due to shaky policies..

That is 4 countries out of 206.

But 3 of the biggest economies. China and USA together are bigger than the rest of the world together...

No, roughly a third. The EU and Japan are almost as big. Then there is still a third left. And it's not like the US and China have zero bitcoin activity.

Anyone who knows if this would be a good time to temporarily or permanently jump off the pool? Or will they keep running the gear for themselves?

Somebody wanted to pop Bitcoin's ATH myth like it was a virgin sacrifice. Big deal. Now they are afraid to drop it below the previous bubble's low or $60. I want to see them drop 8000 BTC on stamp in one sell order to get it that low.

They are not afraid. They are waiting to see how the market adjusts. If there is still no buying pressure they will drop the price to ≈$200-220. And if it's still no buying pressure they will drop it to ≈$150-180.

Nice little chart if you want to explain Bitcoin to anyone.

Yeah. Would say that many are mining with loss by now. They simply mine and hold hopping the price will go back up.

That would be silly. It would be better to switch off their equipment and buy bitcoin at that point (and arguably better just to switch off their equipment)

If you rent space to run the equipment or pay for a hosting service, that might not be a good option.

Poor Lambie, even he must get tired of these boring little drops. How much more can he take before he will grab his vaseline and go back to pleasing old men for a living?
