Now look at this,

We have a token called “George Floyd Token,” or FLYD in crypto sphere, and this is the result of people taking advantage of this situation. So again, it attract more attention to Bitcoin, and we think it's good for free advertisement.

But when someone takes this to the next level and use George Floyd name and created this shady token, then this is something that we need to inspect as it will bring another negative connotation to crypto space in general.

I created a thead about it to warn people, [Warning]: George Floyd token FLYD.
5462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: House Edge -- Is It Really Required? on: June 07, 2020, 10:22:12 PM
This is not entirely my idea, so, as they say, don't shoot the messenger

Let's imagine an extremely wealthy casino whose bankroll size by far exceeds the bankrolls of all its players combined. Will this casino need a house edge to earn profits? As I see it, the house edge would make for more revenue flow, but it will still be making profits with a zero house edge simply because it will be able to stay in the game longer than any other player. Put differently, the sheer size of its bankroll will be the house edge on its own
I would say theoretically, the house can still make a profit if the game is 50-50. They can still "hold" base on the sheer volume of their capital.

I know every casino wants money, and it is unlikely we will see something described above in real life. However, it would be interesting to hear about examples which follow the logic of the bankroll size being a house edge in and of itself. If you know of such cases, especially when the advantage of this kind is subtle or even deliberately disguised, please share them with the inquiring minds here. Don't hide your knowledge under a bushel
You got me thinking as well, so I think of one game that could fit this "even-game" scenario. First that come to my mind is bacarrat, you just have to bet Player or Banker. But to make it even though, you have to strip it off with every side-bet, tie, super-six or super-seven, pairs, and that's where the house edge comes-in, to insure casino's profit. So I don't know if there are casino's that really has this so called "even-game.
5463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain benefits on: June 07, 2020, 10:01:21 PM
We are already in the future, we are already moving to blockchain technology 2.0. I don't know how you relate blockchain to making money because there's none. I thought you are reading about it, but it seems that you don't grasp the true meaning of this technology. On the contrary, blockchain technology is not for everyone, majority of people thinks that it will solve everyone's problem, it's not.

For every one that cares to listen, blockchain technology is the future, blockchain technology is not just about making money now, it is about building the future now.
5464  Economy / Economics / Re: What opportunity costs will governments take. on: June 07, 2020, 09:23:36 PM
Generally the development of the country overall is the "opportunity cost" here if you think about it funds will already be focusing on these pandemic rather than rebuilding or starting any kind of project during this time. So most likely we will still see a lot of projects to be either cancelled or postponed in order to prioritized the damage that this pandemic has brought to their national budget as well as their citizens. The postponement of projects and other developments is big since jobs and businesses will be also eliminated for the ones related to it so there will be a lot of sacrifices that will be made and we are still not experiencing it. Generally the country's economy is affected here both in the private and public sector.
Postponed or if the propose project are not going to be cancelled, their budget are going to be cut as countries need to shift their goal to help their population and get the economy to a slow start. I'm sure that there are financial packages being give out by government to help everyone but it is not enough.

And not just opportunity cost, but for me there are pressure to the government to understand what the trade-offs will be to make the correct decisions as they need to get everyone on the same page.
5465  Bitcoin / Legal / SEC asset freeze "Modern Money Team" on: June 07, 2020, 09:04:59 PM
SEC Obtains Assets Freeze in Cryptocurrency Mining and Trading Schemes

Quote
Litigation Release No. 24829 / June 5, 2020
Securities and Exchange Commission v. Daniel F. Putnam, Jean Paul Ramirez Rico, Angel A. Rodriguez, MMT Distribution, LLC, R & D Global, LLC, No. 20-cv-00301 (D. Utah filed May 7, 2020)
The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that it has obtained an asset freeze and other emergency relief against Daniel F. Putnam, of Utah, Jean Paul Ramirez Rico, of Colombia, and Angel A. Rodriguez, of Utah, who allegedly defrauded investors of more than $12 million in two cryptocurrency-related schemes.

The SEC's complaint, filed under seal on May 7, 2020, charges Putnam, Ramirez, Rodriguez, MMT Distribution, and R & D Global with violating the antifraud provisions of Section 17(a) of the Securities Act of 1933 and Section 10(b) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rule 10b-5 thereunder. The complaint further charges Putnam, Ramirez, and MMT Distribution with violating the registration provisions of Sections 5(a) and 5(c) of the Securities Act, and names Putnam's father, Richard T. Putnam, as a relief defendant. In addition to the asset freeze and other emergency relief obtained, the SEC seeks permanent injunctions, disgorgement of ill-gotten gains with prejudgment interest, and civil penalties.

https://www.sec.gov/litigation/litreleases/2020/lr24829.htm

The name of the business itself sounds like a Ponzi scheme. And it is a allege that the money raised didn't go towards any mining asset but directly to the wallets of the accused. And that the Bitfinex account that Ramirez controlled has only 50 BTC and not 260 they initially reported.

For sure those criminals are going to the jail for this, $12 million is a huge money that crypto investors lost here. I hope that by freezing their assets, the victims can get some refunds.
5466  Economy / Scam Accusations / [Warning]: George Floyd token FLYD on: June 07, 2020, 11:46:16 AM
Just a heads-up to everyone, it seems that scammers has already ride on the current George Floyd movement across America and has created this so called FLYD token.

We all know that this is a hot issue, but I have a feeling that those behind this so called project to help George's family is a scammer. So we should not be carried by our emotions here, and we need to think logically. We have seen this kind of stunt being pulled by cyber criminals with Covid-19.

5467  Other / Beginners & Help / [Warning]:Kupidon ransomware on: June 06, 2020, 08:04:44 AM
There is a new malware that everyone should be aware of, it is aptly name Kupidon. And what's more scary is that it is not just targeting corporate and businesses, but personal users, just like you and me. Mode of attack is what we have know all along, don't click or download anything that you see online.

Quote
Once the threat actors gain access, they manually encrypt the files on the victim's computers. When encrypting data, it will append the .kupidon extension to the file's name.

In each folder that a file is encrypted, the ransomware will also create a ransom note named '!KUPIDON_DECRYPT.TXT.'

Depending on whether the victim is a business or an individual, the ransom notes dropped will be slightly different and contain different ransom demands.

So the ransom will be ask depends on the victims, if it is a corporation, they will ask for $1200 or equivalent in BTC. And then for a home user, as big as $300 or equivalent in BTC.

Sample note:

Although there have been a decryptor before, we really don't know if this is effective as this malware could be a new variant.

5468  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ATTENTION - Fake miner and scammer from Instagram on: June 06, 2020, 07:15:23 AM
It is apparent that this is scam just by looking at the investment offers, there's no way that a mining pool can give you that exorbitant returns. Also by looking at the domain details, this company is fairly young, the website was just created 67 days ago.

So there's a lot of red flags here, that's why you should always research before investing anything in crypto space. Let this be a lessons learnt on your part.

5469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao Might Fight Golovkin on: June 06, 2020, 02:51:06 AM
I'm one of those who voted that GGG will win. I'm a big Manny Pacquaio fan, but here is my reasoning.

First, GGG is too big for Pacquiao as Manny says. He fought Margarito at a catch-weight, and then Margarito rehydrated to 170++ lbs if my memory serves me right. And for me that fight really 'soften' Manny. He received a lot of body punches that time and Manny admitted that he was really hurt during that rounds. So think of GGG, one of the best body punchers out there could do to Manny.

Second, Pacquaio is almost on the downside of his career. It's hard to accept that fact but sooner or later he will face a boxer that could retire him and it's possible that it could be GGG.

Not unless that Roach saw something in GGG that he seen from Oscar, "he can't pull the trigger anymore". But I think GGG still has something in his tank.

5472  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / The stair-pattern in time-locked Bitcoin transactions on: June 05, 2020, 01:58:51 PM
I don't know if this has been tackled already, so pardon me if it is and point me to the right direction. I'm talking about the the supposedly bug in 'timelocked' transactions. It was exposed by supposedly by a German freelance developer, 0xB10C.

https://b10c.me/mempool-observations/1-locktime-stairs/

Quote
Conclusion
Some bitcoin wallets reduce the profitability by time-locking transactions to the next block. This appears as a stair-pattern when plotting the arrival time and the locktime of transactions. The plot reveals transactions with locktimes higher than the current block height. These should, usually, not be relayed through the Bitcoin network. This leads to the discovery that a large entity transacting on the Bitcoin network does not properly set the nSequence field of their transaction inputs. This allowed for the off-by-one-error in the transaction locktimes to remain unnoticed.

As per my understanding, timelocked transactions, is like a locking mechanism we found in banks, it is design to prevent or accessed a bitcoins until a certain number of blocks are added to the ledger.

But as per 0xB10C:

Quote
Some Bitcoin wallets specify a lock-by-block-height with the current height when creating a new transaction. This makes a potentially disruptive mining strategy, called fee-sniping, less profitable. Fee-sniping is currently not used by miners but could cause chain reorgs in the future. Since the block subsidy declines to zero over time, transaction fees will become the main monetary incentive for miners. If a recent block contains a transaction paying a relatively high fee, then it could be profitable for a larger miner to attempt to reorg this block. By mining a replacement block, the sniping miner can pay out the transaction fees to himself, as long as his block ends up in the strong-chain. The fee-sniping miner is not limited to pick the same transactions as the miner he is trying to snipe. He would want to maximize his profitability by picking the highest feerate transactions from both the to-be-replaced-block and the recently broadcast transactions currently residing in the mempool. The more hashrate a fee-sniping miner controls, the higher is the probability that he will win the block-race. Miners have the risk of losing such a block-race, leaving them without reward.
5473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] The Best Casino Promotions on: June 05, 2020, 01:29:40 PM
Free spin takes my vote here. Bonus money depends on how much your initial deposit is. Obviously, the bigger the better, but for average joe, it might not be the case.

As for free spin, this is where your luck enters, so for me this is is more exciting and see how it goes for you. So you could literally win big here if lady luck smiles.  Smiley. I think for giveaways not viable option, if you win, too much hassle, you need to send your info as to where the winnings could be received specially if it is a gadget or some physical gifts.

I am waiting to see the new landmark of having merit sources more than 100 soon.Actually applications who are pending should be accepted by judgement.

Again we need more merit sources who cares about Newbies and Jr. Member at least.
Because they know the value of Merits the best.
You just have to look at this thread, [TOP-200] Members who support newbies - Thanks!. Not just merit sources, but members who give merits to newbies that deserves it.

I think if there are no new merit source to replace Blacknavy, then merit allocations should increase specially for those active merit source for distribution.

It's just one part of the equation, but an effective one. You just have to look at the forum and see how many members are preaching this "HODL" attitude. And I do hope that we have one legendary thread about being a holder Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion.

And I do believed that big farm miners are holders are well, they know what the economics if bitcoin, and them as part of the bigger picture, and only make sense to be a holder.

Never tried greenspin.bet so far, but website design reminds me a lot on sportsbet.io
Is there any connection for this two websites or not?
I agree, the look and feel its similar to sportsbet.io. Obviously, it was about the green colors.

Surprise to see Tether though as one method to deposit on your side, but it's good.

I also noticed what @Kakmakr said, why is there a separate games of crypto?

5478  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Surge - What is happening? on: June 04, 2020, 06:59:11 AM
It makes a surge because someone makes a push on it.
And on the opposite, it drop because someone pull the strings. Tit-for-tat.

Yes, I read that S2F model, predicting that the price will surge ahead after hitting $10k.

But wait, did the model also pointed out that we are going to see a dip after getting into $10k?

My point is that we can't really be assure of the PlanB or PlanC of S2F model, however, we don't need to complicate things though, as long as you are holder and wait for 2024 to cash out and take your profit, then don't bother with this S2F model, just saying.
5479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PAGCOR waiting for the approval to reopen land-based casinos. on: June 04, 2020, 06:15:43 AM
PAGCOR already allows POGO to operate so I think casinos are asking as well for their approval so they can now continue doing business. We heard the news about the OKADA Hotel reducing their manpower because of no operation so if its continue to happen then we might hear a sad news from other big casinos. The risk is high on casinos, so it will depend on the gambler if they will go or not, for now think for your safety and health.
Yes, it was reported here: https://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Business-trends/Philippine-casino-operator-Okada-Manila-lays-off-over-1-000-staff

I don't think though that it is well-known in the Philippines, and as per article, it competes with Solaire resort, City of Dreams Manila and Resorts World Manila. So in a sense, even prior to the Covid-19, they might be losing big money to there competitor. Heard of Okada, but I haven't play their yet.

It is good to hear if Pagcor has the guidelines and that the government will approved it. I do hope that the management can really control the players as we all know that casinos not just in the Philippines are very crowded and everyone wanted to go inside and play whether you are just a average joe player or high roller.
5480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Betting this June? on: June 04, 2020, 05:55:07 AM

And as per Bob Arum, Arum On ESPN, Top Rank Return: If We F--k It Up, It’s Gonna Be Bad For Boxing. But I do agree, of course we wanted to see high profile fights, but in this situation, we need to see some test fight first, like scoring, network, boxing promoters, etc. So if organisations or fans look at this first fight during the pandemic and there are problems, then it's back to square one again. So Bob really need to do it right.
We are very happy to see that boxing is moving in this new norm.

But it seems that there are a lot of pressures on Bob's Arum shoulder to really make this inaugural event in this pandemic.

So yes, he really needs to do everything down to the very detail so that boxing will continue. Otherwise it will be a big drawback, and then reset probably in another month or two and correct the mistakes. So we will see, we do hope though that it will be a big success so that we can watch boxing again.
