5481  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🤜 GamblingBro.com 🤛 Honest crypto casino reviews ✅ Tested with real deposits ✅ on: May 02, 2022, 12:58:37 PM
That link of yours doesn't work. There is an additional "h" in the https part that needs to be removed.

About your latest review.
Personally, the slow withdrawals wouldn't be too big of an obstacle for me. Especially because they are free. Most crypto casinos charge their players withdrawal fees. But that's not the case here.

I agree that information about a slot's RTP should be visible on the casino, but are the rates verifiable by players? If the casino says their slot has an RTP rate of 97%, but it's actually 92%, can you verify this for yourself? If not, they can claim whatever they want to.

The problem with VPNs is that you might be asked to undergo KYC because the casino wants to know who you are and where you are from. You might be suspected of multi-accounting if many people use the same free VPN. Even if you don't reside in a restricted location, some games might not be accessible to you because of your VPNs IP address and each game provider has their own sets of banned countries and territories.
5482  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Never store your coin on exchange!!! on: May 02, 2022, 12:34:56 PM
Normally, it doesn't really matters storing coins in exchanges.
Yes, it does. There is not just the risk of getting hacked and having your coins stolen that way. The owners can make exit scams and steal the coins themselves. The exchange can freeze your assets and ask you for the origin, source of the money, KYC... Their ridiculous "taint" algorithm can result in your funds being frozen or confiscated if they came from addresses or sources that particular exchange considers dirty and illegal. Regulatory frameworks can change for your country stopping you to use those services.

Because without the help of most exchanges, i dont think it will be easy to buy any coins.
Buying and selling is the purpose of crypto exchanges. Storing your coins in their wallets is not the way to do it because they are not yours anymore.

Crypto traders have no choice but to leave their fund on exchange for trading...
That's OK. But you are not trading with your entire portfolio. Therefore, the coins you plan to hold long-term should be stacked away somewhere safely.
5483  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some annoying things that beginners do (but also some old members) on: May 02, 2022, 11:34:46 AM
To extend on the "Using the Quote" option part, I really hate to see when someone quotes the entire OP when replaying to the thread starter. I know what I wrote, you don't have to quote me. Especially not for a thank you or this is very helpful type of posts. There is no reason one should do that, but if you do, at least remove the images from the quoted OP.

Not using punctuation
I    am   allergic when isee  people post  like  this. I also hate to see an empty space before a punctuation mark .

Some beginners also often don't know how to trim long posts in quotes so they have to quote whole posts just to add some unimportant words.
We also shouldn't forget that the forum isn't well suited when posting from a phone. Imagine having to remove big parts of a post just to quote a few sentences on a phone. Instead, they just do what is easier. That's still not a reason and justification of why you should do it.
5484  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The reason people join bitcointalk forum on: May 02, 2022, 11:07:19 AM
Everything falls in the bracket of either "knowledge" or "money" but then again this is the central place where you are guaranteed of get the correct information  related to bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as there isn't any other.
This is one of the oldest Bitcoin forums and the only one I am personally active in, but it's not the only good source of Bitcoin-related information. Stack Exchange has plenty of knowledgeable individuals who can also help those who run into problems. When searching for solutions to some issues, I have often found that the information on Stack Exchange is very good. Google positions them quite high in terms of search results as well.

I don't know if the altcoin section is the best place to discuss alternative coins and the technology though. Maybe someone could name 5 great posters with extensive knowledge of altcoins? Whoever is active in the Bitcoin discussion boards wouldn't have any issues naming knowledgeable individuals there and would certainly receive any help needed.
5485  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Support type for the passphrase on: May 02, 2022, 10:53:10 AM
Overdoing it and overprotecting yourself can have negative consequences. A pen and paper does the trick most of the time. Just make sure that you have multiple copies in different locations and that no one who isn't supposed to know has access to it. If you get robbed, your seed shouldn't be somewhere an intelligent thief would look. Obviously, I am not going to tell you where mine are. Grin

I also like certain ways of hiding the seed in plain sight. I won't go into more details about that either. The idea is to not draw any attention to yourself.
5486  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stability of bitcoin on: May 02, 2022, 09:59:30 AM
Not even stablecoins are stable even though their name suggests they are. They lose their peg, but there are mechanism to secure the price again and bring it back to the stable values. Like it or not, most investments in Bitcoin are of speculative nature. People purchase at a price they consider low and they expect the value to increase. Very few are in it for the technology or because they want an alternative payment method that is decentralized and censorship-resistant.

If the price was stable and we didn't have the speculators who expect to profit from the price movements, Bitcoin wouldn't be where it is today. It would just be an interesting type of e-money used by a very small number of technology enthusiasts, privacy advocates, and similar.
5487  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Old, formerly used keys / seeds should always be saved, not disposed on: May 02, 2022, 09:47:45 AM
Private keys would only take up bytes on a memory stick, there would be no need to delete them.
I hope you aren't relying on your USB drives when it comes to storing the keys and seeds for your more important coins.

If you have ever generated a seed, received coins to that wallet in the past, it doesn't hurt to save it. You don't have to go through the trouble of laminating the words, using steal plates, or whatever other methods of seed storage you like, but it takes just a minute to write it down somewhere in a notebook and keep it there.

Keeping all generated seed words is especially important if you create them often for whatever reasons. Testing new wallets or new features, or maybe even creating wallets for your family or parents. I gifted Bitcoin to a friend not that long ago, but I generated and funded the wallet on my end. I gave him the seed and informed him I am keeping a backup. He had a choice to ask me to get rid of the backup or keep it. He didn't mind me keeping it.
5488  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do not use a wallet that do not bring out virtual keyboard on: May 02, 2022, 09:24:00 AM
I think I have turned all those predictive text suggesting thingies off when I initially set up my phone. But I just wanted to test it out on two different mobile wallets to see what will happen.

I used Electrum mobile and Coinomi since they are installed on my phone already.

Electrum gives you a 12-word seed. You have to write it down because the wallet doesn't allow you to copy-paste and save the words digitally.
For verification, the wallet displays a virtual keyboard. All good. The only time you use your phone's standard keyboard is when you set up a password.

Coinomi is a bit different. it generates 24-word seeds and the app gives you an option to copy and paste these words during the wallet creation process. Not good. When you want to verify the seed, you don't have to type them in. Instead, the wallet displays all of the words randomly and you have to click on them and place them in the correct sequence. The password is also typed in using the phone's standard keyboard.

In both cases, I wasn't able to get the phone to predict the seed. I tried typing them into Viber one by one, but nothing. I typed the seed words as my password using the phone's standard keyboard. Went back to Viber, but no text predictions.
It would be good if the article mentioned a few wallets without a virtual keyboard that could be vulnerable to this.
5489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is your bitcoin hero (excluding Satoshi)? on: May 02, 2022, 08:48:53 AM
I have bookmarked this thread and I am going to read through it as soon as I have some more time, thanks!

I love how Vitalik destroyed him in this discussion. I think I get what happened now. According to Gavin, he has no doubt that craig is satoshi. At least, that's what he thought back in 2016. He apparently signed a message of Gavin's choosing with a private key that only satoshi could possess. Gavin doesn't mention verifying the signature though and nothing was posted and proved publicly. However, the two of them want to convince the world that it happened and we should just trust them without trying to verify anything on our end. Because that's the point of Bitcoin, blindly trust don't verify. Roll Eyes
It's funny how Gavin says that craig (satoshi) is a very private person and wants to remain private. Well except the whole I am satoshi, look at me drama.

<Snip>
I get your point and I understand what you are trying to say. However, I hope Wasabi will lose their customer base and people will switch to other services, which won't cooperate with blockchain analysis firms of their own free will. Let them turn into a service for institutional investors if they want, who cares.
5491  Economy / Reputation / Re: Wow, I have also heard about this issue SPAMMERS on: May 01, 2022, 07:30:23 PM
I don't think Admins have been involved Wink If two of them are banned, all that's needed to get the rest banned is finding evidence of ban evasion.
If they reused the same addresses or social media accounts in bounties in the past, that shouldn't be too hard with Ninjastic.Space.

So you are saying that I can create alt account and post exact same sentences or posts, and this won't be considered as plagiarism?
If the account is a known alt of yours, I don't think that would get you banned. But it probably goes against rules such as spam and low-effort posting. Low effort because all you are doing is copying your own posts and posting them again. If no one knows the other account is your alt, it could get banned if reported and admins decide that's the correct punishment.

Wikipedia definition for plagiarism is saying that even using other people language, thoughts and ideas can be considered as plagiarism.
Yes, but the emphasis is on other people's. Stealing other people's posts, ideas, thoughts, etc. If those accounts are alts, they aren't taking anything from other people.
5492  Economy / Reputation / Re: Wow, I have also heard about this issue SPAMMERS on: May 01, 2022, 01:46:20 PM
Actually, that's not the definitiont. Not all copying is plagiarim.
By definition plagiarism is presenting someone else’s work or ideas as your own. If they're alts, it can't be plagiarism. Just a regular shitpost.
We don't know they are alts either, it's only suspected based on the registration dates. But I understand your point. And since they haven't been banned yet (except two accounts for a different case), the admins seem to agree with you as well.

It wouldn't be the worse thing in the world if we see a thread in Meta with someone asking why his priselive or paymentbit21 account got banned. On the question are the other accounts your alts, he says no! In that case, it would be plagiarism and copy-pasting.

Wow! This is the first time I am reading Gavin's blog post about craig being satoshi. I would really like to know what kind of proof he is talking about and what messages faketoshi was able to sign and with what keys? It's true that it happened in 2016 and the drama with craig's failure to provide the required cryptographic proof happened in 2020/2021. But it's still surprising that craig showed him enough for Gavin to believe he is satoshi. One can only hope Gavin has changed his mind entirely and doesn't still believe such nonsense.
5494  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: csgo500.com reinstated my account on: May 01, 2022, 01:00:40 PM
@UserU, @TheSuspect500,
It's commendable that you reverted the decision after you realized that you were wrong. But what exactly was the problem with this user's betting patterns? You mentioned organized groups. Do you believe that his betting resembles that of those who belong to criminal groups who fix eSports matches?
Is there anything else you can share on the topic?
5495  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Cloning Chipmixer with B cyrcle on: May 01, 2022, 12:46:13 PM
No one should be using google to find the clearnet site. At the moment, there is no clearnet site as it has been taken down by ChipMixer. If you want to mix your coins, use TOR and the onion version:

Important announcement

Chipmixer.com is no longer under our control. Do not use it

What is happening?
Chipmixer com domain is pointing to our IP.
Attacker server is responding to requests made to this IP.
Attacker used it to create new SSL certificate https://crt.sh/?id=6604573658
Attacker is using it to serve altered website that changes deposit addresses and also displays invalid onion address.
Chipmixer com has been disabled till fix is found.

This has happened before with different service provider https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1935098.msg58026067#msg58026067

Tor / onion service has not been affected.
Any data sent to and received from .com on April 24 may be compromised. Sweep your chips and do not reuse session tokens.
Contact us at chipmixer@protonmail.com if you have been affected.

If you google "chipmixer" in Chrome, the fake site comes up on top with the second search result being the dnstat site as shown on the picture. On Firefox, it's the other way around. the .xyz site is placed second and dnstat.net is on the top.
5496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is your bitcoin hero (excluding Satoshi)? on: May 01, 2022, 12:29:40 PM
If he has done something good in the past, then he threw it all in the mud when he supported Faketoshi in his senseless efforts to prove he was Satoshi. For someone who has worked with Satoshi, it’s really weird that he can believe such nonsense. I place him in the same category as Roger Ver, and these are ordinary Judas who never understood the vision Satoshi had.
I have to admit that I haven't followed most of those stories concerning craig wrong, I mean wright, so I am not sure what Gavin's part in all that was. I assume now that he believes craig to be satoshi or what happened exactly?
5497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 01, 2022, 08:16:09 AM
Tomorrow in Juventus-Venezia a young player called Miretti should play from the start.

They says he will be a top player, he is a central midfielder, keep an eye on him.  Wink
A great talent, but knowing how little trust Allegri has in young players, he might try to find a way to keep him on the bench. One reason to be optimistic that he will start though is that both Cuadrado and De Sciglio are injured. Therefore, Danilo has to fill in that role of right back. In recent matches, Allegri used him as a central midfielder, but the chance of that happening today is very low. Rabiot and Zakaria will play for sure, but I can also see that Arthur has been called up. I doubt the Brazilian will start from the beginning though. Another possibility would be trying with Bernardeschi in midfield, but lets hope he won't do that.
5498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Export private keys that had movement - Bitcoin Core on: May 01, 2022, 07:56:29 AM
<Snip>
It depends on how much activity and how many addresses OP has used already. He wrote that his walet.dat file is 1GB in size, so the number of used addresses is probably quite a significant one. If we are talking about thousands of addresses, he might experience problems importing all of them in Electrum. Electrum isn't really suited for such a load. But there are no limitations to how many Electrum wallets he can create, so he can work around that by dividing his private keys in two or more batches and creating a new Electrum wallet for each batch.

I to govori sve o manageru i njegovoj fleksibilnosti.
5500  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Novosti on: May 01, 2022, 07:31:01 AM
Bitcoin se u zadnje vrijeme ponaša kao i sve druge tehnološke dionice na glavnim svjetskim burzama.
Kada burzovni indeksi rastu, tada i btc raste a kada indeksi padaju onda i btc pada.
Čitava situacija je specifična i nesigurna najprije zbog rata u Ukraijinu. Dodaj na to svakodnevna poskupljenja i inflaciju. A sad Rusi još počeli zavrtati pliin evropskim zemljama što će dovesti do novih poskupljenja.
