5501  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Alt-Coins on: December 23, 2013, 05:09:17 PM
Actually, mining DOGE and exchanging it to BTC is more profitable than mining BTC, even if there are fees for the exchange... At least for me it is.
So basically you are saying that is easier to make money mining doge than any other coin. So why shouldn't we all starts begging because it is easier to make money this way rather than working?

Just because doge is more profitable to mine with your mining equipment it doesn't make it any better than btc
5502  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Your view on shale gas exploration ? on: December 23, 2013, 05:00:30 PM
....

Another 122,200 acres of Amazon forest gone. And more than 600 species of fish will become extinct.
....
Just curious.

How does putting about a 14x14 square mile piece of land under water kill off 600 species of fish?

It will destroy the route of migrating fish and you can't compare the lake that will form behind the dam with a river. Some species will lose their natural habitat forever
5503  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 23, 2013, 08:54:06 AM
To be this quiet they must be planning something big.   It feels like they more worried  about the competitors finding out what they have then informing the customers the specs. But I guess they lied to us so I'm not expecting any surprises.

It feels more like they are worried about the police finding out about their scheme and they are planning one big escape with all the money
5504  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-12-21: Chinese Bitcoin Exchange OKCoin Accused of Faking Trading Data on: December 23, 2013, 08:50:37 AM
First we should congratulate the law enforcement authorities. This is not the first time that they are acting against those scammers who con Bitcoiners. Only a few weeks ago, they had arrested those criminals behind the GBL scam.

If they really start acting against scammers that lurk in the bitcoin community it's more likely that we will see this community getting decimated. Just check out the scam section and it's size.
5505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi has how many Bitcoins? on: December 23, 2013, 08:44:18 AM
Yes, "the BTC community", whatever that means, has jumped to the conclusion that Ulbricht = DPR, essentially just on the fact that the FBI has alleged this. I don't consider that to have been proven yet, though.

But the FBI also seized falsified identification documents from him (such as driver's license and SSN). Do you still believe that DPR is someone other than Ulbricht?

I believe it's possible.

We haven't even heard his side of the story yet.

And who are you going to believe, a man that is already known for using falsified documents?
5506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: December 23, 2013, 08:40:46 AM
So, did we finally get rid of the coin that wasn't actually a coin ?
5507  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-12-21: Chinese Bitcoin Exchange OKCoin Accused of Faking Trading Data on: December 22, 2013, 09:41:31 AM
I'm so glad this China hype or more China nonsense is fading away.
China , who controls it's yuan and tries everything to keep it undervalue would adopt bitcoin !!! And people believed this !

Yeah , they will kill their economy based on exports to promote financial freedom. =))))
5508  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Dangerous to invest in new Altcoins? on: December 22, 2013, 09:31:48 AM
I think there are a few good alts out there at the moment - Anoncoin looks very promising and I have a stash of them waiting for the price to skyrocket.....

Oh really , and why would it skyrocket?
Any solid arguments?

Sorry, the ...... after skyrocket was meant to imply that I actually have no idea  Smiley

I was 99% sure of it , but i like to test people that believe every insertnameherescamcoin is the next big thing.
5509  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is it Possible in BlockChain ? on: December 22, 2013, 09:28:34 AM
Blockchain doesn't offer this feature on their website but since you have all the transactions of address A , you'll have all the transactions between  A and B listed.
You'll need another tool to extract only what you search for.
5510  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is it Possible in BlockChain ? on: December 22, 2013, 09:06:50 AM
Either go to the main page and insert the address in the search tab or

https://blockchain.info/address/inserthere
insert the address you're looking for in this link and you'll see all the transactions that have been made from and to this address.

Like:
https://blockchain.info/address/12QdKoqx9CEAeSakfXxrkw2ym6KZT4zQYc

... no they don't. They usually beg.
5513  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is it Possible in BlockChain ? on: December 22, 2013, 08:59:22 AM
I have the sender's Bitcoin address and receiver's Bitcoin address. Now can I track all transactions between these 2 addresses on BlockChain.info ?

Yes.
5514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When SHA-256 is compromised on: December 22, 2013, 08:57:37 AM
1) SHA-256 compromised as in there is a quick way to discover the nonce required to produce the valid block hash.
Assuming the discoverer is malicious and stupid:
2) Attacker zip through blocks, providing instant confirmation for his malicious activities.
3) Attacker tries to sell all the coins.
4) Exchanges freeze.
5) No one needs convincing that the hashing algorithm is really broken.
6) Bitcoin algorithm switched
7) Everyone agrees to rewind to a block before the attack
8 ) bitcoin continues.

Assuming the discoverer is malicious and smart:
2) Attacker zip through blocks at 5 minutes interval to avoid detection.
3) When this has happened for a while, more and more people will become suspicious
4) 5 - 8 will happen.

Assuming the discoverer is benevolent:
2) Research claims SHA-256 compromised
3) demonstrates this by zipping pass a few blocks.
4) 4-8 in the stupid attacker case happens.

I have left out the other serious implications of the complete breakdown of SHA-256.

4-5 would be too hard for it to happen.
Another coin would replace it that uses different security.
A coin with more security like Quark Coin would most likely replace it or another alt coin that uses another security.
The general public would not be able to trust Bitcoin again even if 4-8 happens.

Kermitcoin? The mother of all scamcoins ? Are you serious?
5515  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Satoshi is dead at this moment? on: December 22, 2013, 08:54:16 AM
We should be more concern if he's not.
At least if he's dead he can't come back with a nsa badge to laugh his ass out at our faces Smiley

5517  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin life depends on China on: December 22, 2013, 08:44:04 AM
Bitcoin doesn't give a fuck about china.

And stop looking at those prices and measure bitcoin true values by it.
5518  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Alt-Coins on: December 22, 2013, 08:42:11 AM
EAC looks promising

Basically anything that aligns with the central banker-created Earth Charter as signed by nearly every country (i.e., central banker lands) on the planet in 1992, will make money, because 162 privately owned central banks create the worldwide societal paradigm and are rarely wrong.

To summarize:
  • animals are equal to humans (DOGE aligns)
  • the Earth's privately owned resources are privately owned and therefore populations must be kept in check (EAC aligns)

Any others?

How about creating androgynous coin (ANDC), to better control population numbers?
Managed society coin (MSC)?
Tavistock engineering coin (TEC)?
Bred for passivity coin (BPC)?
Lemmings perfected coin (LPC)?
Fake perpetual crisis coin (FPCC)?
Bank for International Settlements is God coin (BISGC)?
I live in a fake paradigm coin (ILFPC)?

Change it to FAPcoin and would be a success Smiley
5519  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 22, 2013, 08:39:09 AM
I guess there will be no Christmas miracle this year. Gotta tell the children there's no Santa Claus.

Maybe John will send us all a lifetime subscription to animalfisting.com or heavybenders.org and we can just accept that as compensation. Your San Francisco Santa is on his way...

PS:  If Batch 1 BJ's ship and work, and Hashfast doesn't crumble into dust, I may be in the market for a couple of upgrade boards.  Payment in USD. Amount TBD based on date of availability.

I knew it was too good to be true ... none of those websites actually exist  Smiley

I had my doubts about btcchina with their trade volume and this only adds more

http://mm.btc123.com/btcchina.php , zoom to 100%

What's wrong with it?

Do you see the amounts?  with a total of 4000 bitcoins for sale and bids for 10 000 (and this includes the ask and bids at 4x or 0.25 the value) , how can it even dream of a volume of 15k/day?
