5501  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: John Mcafee & Bitifi launch the first 'unhackable' hardware wallet on: June 23, 2018, 10:04:25 AM
I'm pretty sure that this claim is just pure marketing.Nothing is 100% unhackable.I'm actually curious if the 1 year warranty means a warranty that the wallet never gets hacked or a warranty for the device like warranty of phones/computers etc..
If it wasn't McAeat-himself, I would have believed it.
That guy has been using his social-media celebrity status as a Marketing tool for ICOs and crytocurrency-related stuffs, yeah right, who wouldn't.
5502  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Finding my wallet on Windows on: June 23, 2018, 09:51:01 AM
If the executable was lost or deleted, the data including the wallet must still be intact in the default location as long as it is not a portable (removable disk) version.
Just install or open another (Stand-alone version) Electrum wallet and it should open to the default location which is your %appdata% directory.

Or just browse to this location: (Windows Disk)C:\Users\(Your Username)\AppData\Roaming\Electrum (hidden by default)
Then look for wallet_1 / default_wallet or your wallet's name (that should be your wallet).
5503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: B3 Owners - Let s make a class action against BITMAIN and BYTOM on: June 23, 2018, 07:06:26 AM
  • BITMAIN made a premine with the new created BTM chain.
Uh not that I'm depending Shitmain but, while the current events suggest that this might be true, there isn't any strong evidence that supports this claim.

I'm sure you will waste your time on filing a case against a Chinese company where almost all knock-offs came from and can get away with "They aren't the same".
B3s however, was advertised as it is and you got the actual product, nothing seems to be wrong unless all of the evidences are strong.

I'll just leave it here  Wink:
Haha wow, not only is Bitmain pumping out ASICs for every algorithm out there, they are now also CREATING coins that they can sell ASICs to in the future.
5504  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to sync the Bitcoin Core wallet where I've moved the 'blockchain' folder on: June 23, 2018, 05:14:11 AM
Using Windows?
If yes, create a shortcut from the Bitcoin-qt.exe then add -datadir=(your preferred location) to the target file.
Example: "C:\Users\(username)\Desktop\bitcoin-qt.exe" -datadir=E:\BitcoinData

Then use that shortcut to access bitcoin-qt with the new data directory.
5505  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Can I use my Electrum 12 word seed to gain access to my BTC on another wallet? on: June 22, 2018, 10:25:47 AM
So, this thread suddenly became "which has the superior mnemonic phrase" thread?  Tongue

My question is: what happens if something goes wrong with Electrum, what if they close down or just disappear for whatever reason and switch their servers off, what happens to my BTC then? Can I restore on another wallet using the Electrum seed?
No it can't be restored to other bitcoin wallets, but...
Don't worry, Electrum has a great number of userbase,
if the developers somewhat (unlikely) abandon the repo and delete all the related source codes,
[1] someone else will create an open-source recovery software, I bet.

And Bitcoins aren't stored in Electrum's servers or your hard drive, it was recorded by all of the nodes.
As long as you have the mnemonic phrase, lost most of the backups like wallet files private keys, etc., there's still a good chance to recover your private keys from the SEED alone even without the actual Electrum source code because repeat [1].
TL:DR: It's incompatible to other wallets.
5506  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Is there anyway to send a transaction in electrum without a fee? on: June 22, 2018, 02:42:55 AM
I might have to downgrade a bit if there's no other solution.
Downgrading your Electrum wont help,
his 0.15 link points out to Bitcoin's repository URL which means that every node that runs a v0.15 client wont relay any 0 byte fee transactions.
5507  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Need HELP on: June 21, 2018, 11:23:51 AM
I hope I'm not messing anything up by posting this on here but -snip-
Anyone can get to that link by browsing the site, what's the difference?
It's privacy matters, now that you've posted it, address 1GH729nVR5w6SKfwmUCPyvFfbVCQ1s7XJD is now known as user kzj32jaka of bitcointalk's bitcoin address.
That's it.

In addition, Info that you shouldn't share: MNEMONIC (SEED) Phrase, Private Keys, the wallet file, Master Private Key (xprv) and your wallet(s) passphrase.

I downloaded was Electrum 2.6.4 does it require me to update to the 3.1?
Yes, you really need to update your Electrum.
Your Electrum was totally outdated, even an earlier versions like 2.8 may find it hard to sync to any server.

Just make sure to download from the official site which is https://electrum.org/#download
5508  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info wallet big bug on: June 21, 2018, 10:44:57 AM
I am talked with support they cant help. I try to login with my first and second password after i entered both they redirecting me to main page without allow me wallet update. Does anyone with big reputation could try to login and check ?
Whoa, what took you so long to reply to this thread?

Based on this, I assume you still know your 17-word mnemonic case, right?
I think they just stole money from inactive account because i cant acces my wallet and i cant recover it because i have 17 mnemonic words but not 12. 17 mnemonic words they generate at 2013-2014 year.
First, do not send your seed to anyone including in PMs.

Secondly, nope, they didn't. They just stopped supporting the old wallet source code since April2016 and shifted to the current one which had broken the backward-compatibility but....
blockchain.info has provided a link where those old wallets can be recovered, here it is: https://blockchain.info/wallet/forgot-password
That's not totally "forget password" as the link stated, it can also recover legacy mnemonic phrases.

Lastly, I got a handful of responses received with the same issues and their answers from google-search.
5509  Other / Meta / Re: Image with link alignment problem on: June 21, 2018, 09:37:52 AM
Same issue as mentioned bu the OP: users will not easily distinguish real vs "fake" links (i.e: I always have a hand pointer over the whole image there is a real link or not).
Not at all, when users try to click the empty link, there will be no response.
But if they click on the right spot, they will be redirected to the correct url.

Now the different links work as intended. But yes, the cursor will always indicate that there's a link.

What he meant by that in the OP is, he enclosed the whole image in a [url][url] tag making the whole post linked to a single url.

This:
I tried to put link around whole picture - in this case alignment is ok, but now whole picture is a link, or it acts as link, and users don't really distinguish which are real links and which are "fake".

<Edit>
Never mind, I realized that it was slightly the same with Tryninja's reply.

<Update>
How about, make use of acronym tags to display a "hover info" to the real links whenever the mouse points to it.

Example: (Point your mouse pointer to any link)

5510  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Need HELP on: June 21, 2018, 05:16:45 AM
I have an option above details saying copy id on clipboard is this the TXID you want me to get for you?
This should be the the Tx ID, paste it here so we can check it in blockexplorers ourselves.
Take note: it's safe to share the TXID, it's just like a receipt of an ATM machine (privacy-related, not security).
or just the underlined part of the blockexplorer link or the url itself:

You may include your Electrum's version and the site where you'd downloaded it.
5511  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Bitcoins sent to an Armory wallet which was not yet synced to the blockchain on: June 21, 2018, 03:19:14 AM
Seems like it has the same issue with this old thread: Missing Armory Addresses
Check it out, the link already points to the best reply.

What is your Armory's version?
Did you downloaded it from the official site: btcarmory.com? the other site might be outdated.
Lastly, you may need to move this to Alternative Clients > Armory to find real Armory users and developers.
5512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: gpu with two different psu on: June 20, 2018, 09:31:40 AM
From an IT point of view it should not be a problem as long as you have connected in series the 2 Psu-s. Connecting in series mean to unite both psus with the green cable.
Please do not describe the tool that simultaneously starts 2 PSUs as "series" because it may cause some misunderstanding and might cause an accident.
I appreciate all your comments, the truth is that it remains unclear, but now it is not as simple as I thought.
Here's a conclusion:
It's unclear to you because the consensus here seemed to be divided to yes or no, but most of those who said yes are those who aren't sure themselves or just google searched the term for you.
I just found 3 persons who are using unrelated terms which strongly suggest that those must have been wrong.

These are the most valid answers so far:
-snip-
So can you? Yes.

Should you? I would rather not but I like to keep everything a bit organized. It would likely be fine for the short term but if it can be remedied in the long term best to get them on the same PSU.
Can you.... Yes

Should you.... NO!!

5513  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why is it more profitable for a node with more than 51% computation power? on: June 20, 2018, 06:58:04 AM
Thanks in advance for the clarification.
You're welcome in advance.

That incentive is the block reward and it's too easy to think of if you're a miner with a city-large mining farm.
Simply Solo mine using that hashrate and you'll definitely get most of the block rewards which is 12.5BTC approximately every 10minutes.

Is there any more profitable choice? 51% attack isn't easy and cheap.

Actually, I have store my all the data on my GoDaddy server
Does your VPS (hosting) plan comes with an unlimited bandwidth and storage space?
I don't know how big the current <Bitcored?>'s node is, so the problem might be the current size of your node on GoDaddy's server.
Or it may be non-compliant to their terms and conditions and they set a cap on your storage space.

Simply use the "report to moderator"  button on the lower right of the post/thread and request to lock it alongside with a valid reason or description.
That is more noticeable than posting a thread in the Meta board.

Example: "Please. lock this thread because the author is currently inactive and a new active thread was already opened as as a replacement."

However, if the reason is too vague, moderators will ignore it.
5516  Other / Meta / Re: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ on: June 19, 2018, 11:16:03 AM
Hello, I have my announcement post on Altcoin, I would like to inquire if adding extra information to my posted thread such as "our coin has been listed on XX exchanges" and " our coin has officially listed on XX ranking sites", this kind of additional information are allowed?
I hope my question is that silly to ask and looking forward to your response on this matter.
There shouldn't be any problem with follow-up information or updates in your own thread as long as you're the Author.
Post like those can count as a bump or an update and even "bump" word alone isn't counted as spam; however, one-word bumps should be deleted afterwards.

The problem is, if those were posted by questionable newbies and brand new accounts, it will fall into spam and the ANN thread will be flagged red by cautious members.

Take note: "our coin has been listed on XX exchanges" is good enough, but a well formatted and constructive update can be a good eye-candy to your potential investors.
5517  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there an only reason for the current market? on: June 19, 2018, 10:24:28 AM
Let's say, the 4th Quarter of 2017 bear market didn't take place, the reason would be the Regulations that the governments established to control exchanges and ICOs.
But the Governments established the regulation because of the "insane" response from the masses to the "new investment" which was the current hype at that time.
Manipulation? That thing happens all the time and like the others, it's just a small portion of the whole history.

So the most accurate answer to the OP is:
There is no definite reason to the current market, all things that happened had its own share to the current market.

TL;DR: No single (only) reason, same history guys.
5518  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: I have something curious about POW on: June 19, 2018, 09:38:13 AM
In my understanding, what OP's talking about "mining" is the Block Reward against the Max 21m Bitcoin cap that's nearly catching up.

Based on that, what they said was true
but as an addition, mining won't reach the point where transaction fees are the only reward during our generation or the next.
The block reward is designed to reduce by half in every 210,000 blocks, you do the math.

Even so, based on useability, transaction fees and satoshi as a reward can still motivate the hardcore or loyal miners of the network if Bitcoin still exist 120 years from now.
5519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [CPU][XMR] Monero CPU Miner on: June 19, 2018, 08:12:06 AM
How much is the devfee?

SSE4, so this can potentially make (E7+) Core2Duo's hashrate competent enough to earn a profit?
I'd love to try this with my scrap machines.

<Edit>
Waiting for a legit test response or a code review.
5520  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How Many Forks Of Electrum Wallets Are There? BTC, LTC, BTG, BCH, DASH on: June 18, 2018, 10:14:54 AM
Can you provide the link to Github of the list in the OP and include the quoted parts of the shared list of forks by others?
Because this could be a good reference for users who're looking for 3rd-party wallets that support Bitcoin Forks and Altcoins.
