5501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Are There Many Projects Like This? on: February 17, 2019, 06:34:15 AM
Don't you know that most of the ICOs from 2017-2018 were scam and it is now to identify a scam ICO. As you said that one of criteria for the ICO to be identified as a scam would be that it would not have much of valuable information in it's website and thread. Despite this there are many who still invests in such ICOs and get scammed. I have personally left investing in any ICO. Even if it is a genuine one I tend to buy the tokens only when the tokens is listed on an exchange.
5502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: New Exchanges vs Old Exchanges on: February 17, 2019, 06:14:53 AM
I don't thinks so that everyone knows about Nauticus. Does anyone there who have been using that exchange? Coinbase and Binance, yes they are both popular and everybody knows about these exchanges but with Nauticus? Nope, I don't think so.

I see some of your posts from the past years relates to Nauticus so I think you are part of them. And you want to give exposure to this exchange by giving that kind of opinion that it's included and comparable to Binance and Coinbase/Pro.
I have been an ICO investor for Nauticus. I was really happy when I saw cointelegraph advertising it. I thought it would be the next binance and it could still be.
I won't deny it since it has the potential of being the next binance. But after the ICO was completed the team said that we will have to undergo a KYC process.
I was  very disappointed by this decision and I didn't have any option to other than completing the KYC in order to claim my coins.
5503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Change Of KYC Pattern on: February 17, 2019, 06:06:35 AM
There have been so much issues arising from bounty hunters doing kyc. So many bounty hunters are against it. Also looking at what kyc means, it means know your customer and bounty hunters are not customers.

So my thought is this: if there must be kyc , it should be done before the start of the bounty. If you pass the kyc, you start the bounty but if you fail, you just leave it and look for some other promising bounty.

What do you think about this?
Yes, it is definitely an issue for bounty hunters since what most ICOs do is that they announce the bounty campaign without any information or announcements of the KYC.
After the bounty campaign is completed and when the time comes for paying the rewards to the bounty participants the ICO team announces that they will have to undergo a KYC process to claim the bounty rewards.
While most participants don't do the KYC and hence loose the rewards others try to claim but get stuck somewhere between. Some don't get qualified under the KYC process and eventually loose the rewards.
This way the ICO team cheats their bounty participants. They can announce the need of a KYC process earlier so that the bounty participants can decide whether or not to participate in the campaign or not.
5504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A world of opportunities for freelancers on: February 17, 2019, 05:21:23 AM
Part of the problem is that nearly all firms would have to buy bitcoin to
pay a freelancer who then would most likely convert the bitcoin bact to FIAT.

Firms can use paypal as mentioned and can use SEPA bank transfers
to send FIAT.

We are still in the early stages of bitcoin usage, it can get better but
unfortunately it would take regulation so firms can avail of tax breaks.
Why is paying in bitcoin a problem ? If bitcoin is being used as payments then why do we need to convert it to fiat at all. We can just keep using the bitcoins online for payments.
Besides that paypal will then only allow a handful currencies while bitcoin being accepted as a globally accepted currency will eliminate this hassle.
5505  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The public are always wrong on: February 16, 2019, 03:38:12 PM
If the so called "Public" is 'always' wrong then how do you think that there people becoming millionaires by investing in bitcoin.
It's obvious that not everybody is a millionaire but some are. So it depends on a person on how is he investing and at what time.
If the strategy is right then he will surely gain profits. There is no perfect trader and everybody has failed at some point of time.
The 'public' might be wrong some time but learning a lesson from failures and trying until we succeed is a thing that real trader does.
5506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Facts about the next bitcoin halving (cool infographic) on: February 16, 2019, 03:06:57 PM
I am just waiting for the time when the price starts hitting high because the history of bitcoin has shown us that the price of BTC has grown before every halving.
I just hope this time the price indeed grows real high so that those people who lost a bankful  Tongue of money in the last dump can recover at least some portion of their lost money.
5507  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATMs doubled every year since 2014 on: February 16, 2019, 03:01:23 PM
To be honest, I do like the fact that crypto ATMs are being installed over the world and I am more than happy now to find out that amount of crypto ATMs has been doubled this year.
This will create more awareness of crypto among the people. But if we see through Satoshi's vision then there is no point of installing crypto ATMs.
His vision was that bitcoin should be accepted as a globally accepted payment and that is possible only when bitcoin is accepted worldwide.
In his view people should not be selling bitcoin for cash and used that money for payments instead they should use bitcoin itself for payments.
5508  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: “Blockchain and cryptos are here to stay”, insist business advisory firm as it b on: February 16, 2019, 02:50:24 PM
“Blockchain and cryptos are here to stay”, insist business advisory firm as it begins to accept Bitcoin

Skoda Minotti has announced that it’s now accepting Bitcoin for its services… by Manoj Sharma for CNR Multiple service providers and businesses have started to accept cryptocurrency payments...

Read more:   https://www.trackcoinmarket.com/en/crypto-news/33990/blockchain-cryptos-stay-insist-business-advisory-firm-begins-accept-bitcoin
I would like to ask, is this website reliable ? Have you done research over this news yourself ?
If the news is true then I more than happy because the more firms accepts bitcoins as a payment, the more adoption takes place and the higher the price goes.
Ultimately, Satoshi's vision of bitcoin being used as a globally accepted currency might come true some day.
5509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Deep Web on: February 16, 2019, 02:38:31 PM
So im literally a curioused person which wanted to have more informations about Deep Web and its wierd and creepy videos and stuffs. So I recently streaming youtube for a couple of hours, so basic compared to what deep web has, but after about 10 videos,i found this gem.

https://youtu.be/rEtGb4Eenp0

So for those who have no time watching a 14:27 minute video, ill make a summary for you.

So theres this youtuber who wants to access deep web, just a curious guy like me. Then after a boring introduction, he finally opens the site. So to make the story short. He finds all illegal stuffs like hacking, buying other peoples account including paypal and even bank accounts perhaps, steps on how to do illegal things and a bunch of drug dealers all for suprisingly low price. Whats surprising is this.

MOST OF THE DEALS ARE CAN ONLY BOUGHT BY BITCOIN !!!!!!!!!

WTF. I really stumbled that even the dark webs and illegal organizations only accepts BTC because of its anonimity.

Heres an interesting topic for you guys. Lets discuss about this and maybe you have a lot information than mine.
What world are you in mate ? Bitcoin started with this and in fact the dark web was the place from where bitcoin took the rise.
The price has grown high due to the criminal activities and drug dealing happening at that place and they accept only bitcoin because of it's anonymity.
But the time has changed now and the speculators have more dominance over the bitcoin community.
5510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Validating vs mining nodes, really a myth ? on: February 16, 2019, 02:33:04 PM
Hey guys,

i was pretty sure that validating nodes give us some kind of security even if they don't mine.
But now i got into a lot of discusssions with these BCH/SV guys and not 100% anymore Cheesy How does a full node prevennt double spending, its accepting the longest chain no matter what no ?
What else are they validating. Does a node operator has to do manual auditing of blocks to confirm no double spend happened?

so what is true or wrong about this article from this Faketoshi Craig ?

https://medium.com/@craig_10243/the-myth-of-the-full-validation-node-d7db52748649

pls not (only) hate, give me some answers i can learn from to understand it better.

Cheers  Grin

The double spend can happen in a PoW system no matter what happens because the system is designed in such a way. Although there is a huge possibility of double spending, there is only 0.1% probability of his attack to be successful.  A transaction needs 6 confirmations to be validated and probability of all the 6 confirmations to happen simultaneously is very very low and even if it does happen then the there will be at least a difference in confirmation time in the next block and hence the block with faster confirmations will win the race and will eliminate the other chain of invalid blocks. Hence the double spend attack won't be successful.
5511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It seems luke-jr is ready to make his own shitcoin forked version of Bitcoin :P on: February 16, 2019, 05:05:36 AM
LOL  Grin Why don't the big people give us a chance to stop laughing  Grin We can see such shitcoins everywhere and yet there are people who want to create more.
I must say that all the forked coins from bitcoin are nowhere near bitcoin right now while most of them are similar to dust.
There are only a few coins which have even crossed $10. There is no chance that any more versions of bitcoin will survive in the current crypto market.
5512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Venezuela - communists are falling, so might btc on: February 16, 2019, 04:57:50 AM
I don't think that if Venezuelan public will start selling all their bitcoin's at once. There are many reasons as to why this will not happen.
If at all the political problem get resolved, we are not sure that it will even create an impact on bitcoin's price since the Venezuelan dominance over bitcoin is not so great.
Besides that bitcoin's price is already low so do you think people will start selling all their coins at such a low price when they bitcoin can grow so huge in a short time.
5513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Community Is Now Dominated by Speculators Not Criminals!! on: February 16, 2019, 04:44:33 AM
It is definitely true that the bitcoin community is now dominated with speculators rather than criminals/terrorists/drug dealers etc... The dark web used bitcoins for criminal activities but the time has changed now.
The rise of bitcoin's price was due to the criminal activities, drug dealers etc.. but over the time the bitcoin community has grown well and now there are more number of speculators who dominates bitcoin's price.
5514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN GLORIOUS DAYS MIGHT JUST BE HERE on: February 16, 2019, 04:27:05 AM
Whenever there is a financial crisis, I think bitcoin's price will hit the top since people would rather invest in a developing currency rather than a weak currency.
If the content in the OP is true then there are very good chances that people will adopt the Bitcoin technology and will buy bitcoins when US dollar falls in price.
There are good chances for bitcoin to go to the top in future since financial crisis keeps happening from time to time.
5515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Positivity is necessary in the cryptocurrency space on: February 15, 2019, 04:01:26 PM
By positivity I believe you are speaking about the positive news that boost the rise in price of cryptocurrencies. Yes positive news are absolutely necessary in the crypto market.
Right now we are waiting for such positive news which will boost the price of cryptocurrencies. Although positive news are much needed for crypto it sometimes acts as a bane.
It might result in a loss is your targets are short but the price keeps rising. So we have to strategize our trades according to trend of the market.
5516  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is the coming halving our last hope? on: February 14, 2019, 05:29:34 PM
I guess once the time for the halving arrives the price of BTC will see a significant pump since similar pre-pumps have happened in the past.
Besides that bitcoin is here to stay for long and as long as bitcoin doesn't go to zero which it will never will, there are chances that it will rise again.
So there is always a hope for bitcoin.  Wink
5517  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading tips and suggestion on: February 14, 2019, 05:22:54 PM
The recent market trend is very volatile, and if you are a good short trader you can earn at least profit and a great experience. To those who want to become successful on trading here’s my short tip to you;

1 . Keep on working - You cannot get something from nothing, just like in trading you cannot master trading in just one month, or less because its a long process. It will take sleepless nights, and a failure on trading, or even a big loss on your money, just continue because it will build your character.

2. Never skip the process - Some may look for an easy money but later on they will just failed because of not enough experience and knowledge. This can be related to your patience which is very important in trading right now and in the future. Take easy steps to become better in trading.

3. Trade like a pro - Never underestimate your skills and potential, always do your best in trading and you can be more successful. Newbies should not depend to anyone, trading is all about hard work, do it with passion.

Always be profitable in trading, that's our goal and we can achieve it!
Any additional tips for everyone would be much appreciated, let’s continue to help everyone so they can succeed also.
Never giving up should be another tip that people should acknowledge. Most of the times I have noticed that after loosing some continuous trades people tend to give up on trading.
This should never happen and you should try not to quit or give up so easily. You might loose in the beginning but once you start earning profits this will boost your confidence.
5518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dominos now accepts Bitcoin via LN on: February 14, 2019, 05:14:15 PM
I still highly doubt if the news is legit or not. I will only believe it if the news is directly from Dominos themselves.
The website also doesn't look genuine to me. I definitely think it is just to spread a FUD in the market.
So I would suggest you to stop spreading this FUD and do a research yourself before posting such posts. Try to post a proof next time and a link to it.
5519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Union Bank of the Philippines Launching Cryptocurrency ATM on: February 14, 2019, 05:01:42 PM
Well this sounds like a good news. Philippines is a huge country and it supporting bitcoin is a really good achievement.
I just hope that there are no legal issues that it has to face since launching a crypto ATM involves legal jurisdictions.
Once the launch is successful, I guess that many similar crypto ATMs will be launched and this will motivate the other countries to do the same as well.
5520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Sent Offline! on: February 14, 2019, 04:49:05 PM
but he is not sending bitcoin! he is sending the private key. it is like giving someone key to your home and to the safe in the wall so that they can go there and take the money you left them there. well that is not sending bitcoin.
additionally he is using shortwave radio so i wouldn't call that exactly "offline", that is just another digital form of transferring data. not to mention this whole thing is super risky since it can be intercepted in the middle.
+1
Very well explained.

I have always thought that internet is always needed to send bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies. It's my first time learning that it could be done offline.

Check this article https://www.cryptovibes.com/crypto-news/bitcoin-transaction-shortwave-radio/
The transaction was anyway broadcasted on the blockchain by the receiver. Eventually a person does need to have an internet connection if he wants to broadcast his transaction on the blockchain.
Second thing is that brainwallets are riskier and should be avoided since a slight memory loss could result in loosing your bitcoins forever.
