5521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling becomes popular on: May 16, 2021, 02:47:53 PM
But what made me curious about the chart is that the rise was only short-lived. Why was it just like that, just a single spike? There was indeed fast growth but then it also quickly fell down to the normal level. And that went on until today. Was there something about crypto gambling which made a lot of newcomers left after becoming curious and even started to play with it? Why does the chart says that the rise was not sustained at all?

We can only speculate unless somebody posted a survey why it is so, the surge at the height of the pandemic because the majority of workers are at home and some physical gamblers are playing here, but now that restrictions have ease up it's back to business for them, many countries have opened up casinos and recreations but the Crypto gambling industry is till doing great.
That peak also called my attention. Of course a kind of hype was created on July 2020, but just lasted shortly. I believe it could have been due to a heavy advertisement marketing strategy of some casinos that made so many people interested in online gambling at same time. However, as we can see only bitcoin and crypto gambling searching terms kept rising during the following months.
Probably people started looking for online gambling and ended discovering crypto gambling more attractive after all, as all these searching terms are related, but bitcoin/crypto gambling is a kind of evolution compared to the first one.

Elon has Autism Asperger's. Its a mentally disorder of the brain.

It is known that some people with autism have the highest intelligence IQ that looks kind of Hidden behind the disorder. Symptoms are lack of social interaction and problems with communication.

Autistic kids has a fascination with 1 particular thing or field. Maybe as a kid Elon fascinated about travelling and going into space that's always on his mind.

It is also known that autistic kids can sometimes move on very quickly from something that they were interested in into now something new.

Ditching Bitcoin and going into Dogecoin because it has a cool picture of a dog on it is behavioural example of autistic Asperger's kids changing interest very quickly.

But I doubt autistic people have memory problems like Elon totally forgot about Bitcoin Energy consumption then realised it months later.
I could be wrong, but I don't buy this. His mental disorder is more like a superpower then, because I don't see autists speculating money so smartly like him. People with mental disorders have many difficults in life due to their unstable behavior, especially in financial life. It's common to speculate wealthy and excentric people have some level of autism, but in every cases I have seen, it's nothing more than speculation.
Elon Musk didn't reach to the top 2 of richest men of the world being a fool, so it's really interesting how he made his business accept bitcoin as payment, but some days later he retreated and said bitcoin is harmful to the environment. Of course there are informations behind the curtains we don't have access.

If bitcoin price keeps increasing like the last 12 months then it would become costly for freebitco.in to keep running the faucet.
The money users can get via faucet is fixed in dollars not bitcoin. The base reward is always 0.002 dollar.
Given the minimum withdrawal limit of 30,000 satoshi, the rise in bitcoin price makes the faucet even less costly.
The current base reward is only 4 satoshi. Even if you never sleep and claim the faucet 24 times a day, it takes 312 days to reach the minimum withdrawal limit.

Just using freebitco.in for the faucet is not really worth it (applies for all faucet sites). I do claim the the faucet from time to time but I use freebitco.in more for the betting, the yearly interest you can get, the WOF and the FUN tokens.
The faucet is worthful too, because although you get few satoshis on most claims you still have a chance to get 200$ or the intermediary prizes for just one click hourly. For investors it takes less than one second, as they don't have to complete the captcha. The faucet is also a good way to introduce new people to bitcoin and a smart incentive to make people start investing in Freebitco.in.
5524  Economy / Speculation / Re: i think we will see bitcoin 44k sooner on: May 15, 2021, 04:52:48 PM
I think we are seeing the size of Musk's influence on the market right now. I don't expect bitcoin will fall too deep, because the currency has grown to the level we see nowadays without his help, so it will survive and continue thriving without him anyway. The currently correction is a normal effect of Musk's fans cashing out their bitcoin investments and consequently influencing some other investors to do the same (the domino effect), especially the big speculators. I still fully believe in bitcoin and I'm sure if there is so much misinformation about btc, like the one Elon Musk throw on his public, it's because there are many people avid to buy bitcoins for a cheaper price.
5525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto-Casinos and KYC on: May 15, 2021, 03:53:59 PM
2-  Do you feel safe giving out your KYC to online crypto-casinos?

My opinion: After the documents are sent, they go through a number of people and online casinos keep changing their staff from time to time and in some case, if a staff member knows my address and in case I am a high-roller I would be in some serious trouble because the staff member can track me and even blackmail me to some extent. I am ok with giving my identity to known sites like bet365 or williamhill but I am still not comfortable verifying myself at a lesser-known crypto casino.
When a casino asks for documents it's because they have to follow this regulation to operate their casino services legally. If the situation you mentioned happens and a high roller start being blackmailed by a staff member, the gambler can contact the responsible authorities and they will go after the casino and deal with the issue properly. On the other hand, in some cases the high roller wants to hide his winnings from authorities and this fact can be used by the casino to take advantage of the situation. In this case the gambler can't do anything, because he is also wrong and the blackmailers know about it.

If the casino is regulated and KYC is needed, users must also use the regulations in their own favor.

So much possibilities on why Elon Musk retreated... I ask myself if he is trying to gang up with the beautiful people after going to that comedy TV show. He is blindly repeating the eco-terrorist speech that many of those celebrities globalists' sockpuppets repeat in sensible marketing propagandas full of catchphrases while ignoring the facts and the reality.
The guy was a bitcoin adopter and supporter, but after few days he is already spreading misinformation about the crypto currency. My only certain right now is that Elon Musk isn't a trustful individual.

Elon Musk is anything but an eco-terrorist. He is just a clever businessman and want to use the cryptocurrency sector for his own benefit. For all these years, he never cared about the environment. Now all of a sudden, he becomes concerned with the electricity usage of Bitcoin mining pools. I am not sure whether he is going to stick with Dogecoin for long. I have strong suspicion that ultimately his aim is to come up with his own shitcoin. Those who accumulate Dogecoin due to FOMO are going to regret about it later.
At this point I don't doubt he comes to twitter and start badmouthing dogecoin anytime. Maybe he really has future plans for his own crypto currency, as his goal is to colonize another planets, the appeal used to call the attention of investors may be that he is going to create the first Mars' currency or the first interplanetary currency.
Anyway if I were one of those whales following his tweets like they were sacred words I would be very careful, because to follow an unstable influencer like Elon is similar to investing in ponzi schemes.

Check this site for more informations: What Happens If A Result Changes After A Bet Has Been Settled?

Once the official game result is announced and the gamblers who made the correct predictions are paid there is no turning back. The result may change later due to an issue like cheating, but the prizes won't be paid to the real gamblers winners and the bookmakers won't get the money back from the previously paid gamblers.

In horse racing there is a particularity though, because if the horse you bet is the winner, but for some reason the official result declares another horse as the winner you will still get paid by bookmakers. But the point here is that the official result comes after the results change. With cheating it's the opposite, the results change after the official result is released, after so much time of the race, so it isn't included on the particularity I mentioned and nobody else is going to be paid in this case anyway.
5529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling risks during coronavirus pandemic on: May 14, 2021, 11:53:52 PM
Usually people start to mess their lives after playing gambling using borrowed money, because gambling is not used as a source of income.
So it is very dangerous if someone forces to play gambling using borrowed money, I make sure that the person in the future will experience
very severe financial problems. Moreover, the person is addicted to gambling, using borrowed money will only make his life ruined, and it could
end that all his assets are used up to pay off debts. That's why playing gambling must have a separate budget and it comes from the extra
money we have.
In my opinion to borrow money to gamble is a big red line, a very strong signal the gambler is losing control over his hobby and that something really bad is going to happen next. There are evidences that during the pandemic people tend to do crazy things more often than they would do in normal times and gambling with borrowed money is included on these things.
I believe it's due to the fact people become too lonely, what lead them to become stressful and impulsive. Gambling seems a good antidote to loneliness at first glance, but without proper management it becomes unstoppable and at some point gambling's budget will be gone and a loan will be needed to keep the gambler busy and entertained with something. When it happens it's time to stop and find another hobby for a while. At least until next month, when gambling's budget can be renewed.
5530  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin decline is not related ONLY to Elon Musk! Binance is also related to it! on: May 14, 2021, 10:33:57 PM
Yeah, its not Elon Musk only. Various factors caused the price to fall. Starting from US regulators probably going to be more strict, with some countries imposing restrictions, the price was bound to crash. But, Musk did play a greater role over here. As soon as he tweeted about how "bad" bitcoin is to the environment, the price started to tank. When he said Tesla won't accept bitcoin, people started to panic thinking that eventually the whole world will stop using bitcoin based on how "bad" it is to the environment. And remember, there were many people that entered the market just because Tesla invested in bitcoin. Those people left as soon as teslas announced that they won't accept BTC. So yeah, Musks tweet did have a high impact on the current crash. Look at how Doge went up again as soon as he said he will be working with the doge dev team.
I agree with you. This time I think bitcoin fall was mainly due to Elon Musk. The effect was instantaneous right after his tweet and news about it were popping everywhere on google. Regulations are a constant threat to bitcoin, but a drop in btc price like the one we saw yesterday isn't constant, so the cause must be sudden and it was indeed Elon Musk and Tesla.
If Binance were considerably related to the fall I think BNB would be worse than it is now, already +7,67% during the last 24 hours. Doing really well if compared to bitcoin which has grown only 2,46% on the last 24 hours.
5531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Man lost £20,000 in one night after becoming addicted to online gambling! on: May 14, 2021, 10:06:44 PM
Quote
After becoming addicted to online casino games in March last year, he lost £40,000 in the space of a month, losing half of that in just one night.

After losing that money too, he found himself in massive debt, and contemplated taking his own life.
https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/man-lost-20000-one-night-24067466

I don't know why they are caught up in this moment but I think people know the risks yet they still try. Was it appropriate for him to call the gambling firm wrong or he was right? (See the last part of the article or better read the 3 mins. article instead)

Gambling firms always gave a warning and so are the people who are promoting and involve in gambling even players like us are doing that, but he chooses to ignore it, when it comes to gambling it's always your personal decision, you win and you lose because of your decision, the guy loses a lot fo big money because he realizes he has no control on his action if he has control he should just allocate a portion for gambling and not deposit all his money.
The reality is exactly like you said, especially on this virtual universe, but at same time I understand the gambler because it must hurt a lot to lose thousands of euros in just one night, so it's normal that he becomes angry over the casino, that just called the police for him when he told about his desire for killing himself after the huge loss.
However there is nothing the gambler can do besides stop gambling forever, what I think it's the most recommended option for him, or he can learn how to control himself next time, although I don't think it's a good idea for him to gamble again, because someone who loses 20,000 euros in few hours has serious self-control issues. So it should be avoided at all costs.
5532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where to seek help if you need; concerned with gambling addiction. on: May 14, 2021, 02:14:26 AM
Please feel free to add sources according to the nation or locality. 🌞
I believe the best place to seek for help is at the respective public department of your city/province. I know it as social assistance or welfare department. The employees working there will guide suffering individuals to proper treatment, what doesn't include only gambling addiction, but also any other kind of addiction or social problem as well.
These employees are supposed to know better than anyone else what are the treatments disponible on the region and can also work as middlemen between the citizens and the clinics, spas and doctors.
5533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why the martingale system sucks! (doubling down on losses) on: May 14, 2021, 01:30:20 AM
I don't understand what can be discussed here again, Martingale does not work (like any strategy in a casino). This strategy is good only for creating some kind of illusion (given the fact that you start the game with micro stakes, you will be in profit, albeit small, but for quite a long time) that you can beat the casino.
Although it doesn't work on long run I don't know any better strategy that could be used to maximize the time a gambler spends playing games like dice. I've already tried an another one called Parlay too, but it was much worse than Martingale. I think when it comes to strategy gamblers don't have much to do besides playing Martingale variances.
The truth is that the goal of these strategies isn't to give the gamblers a guaranteed profit after a session of gambling, but to let them play for the longest time as possible without going bankrupt.
5534  Economy / Gambling / Re: Very immoral marketing strategy. on: May 14, 2021, 12:22:14 AM
Correct me if I'm wrong, but these streamers and youtubers' statistics will still be in loss on long run even if they are using fake money, unless the house edge is modified in their favor for marketing purposes. In that case it would be a very serious situation. However if they are just being paid to advertise the casino brand, playing by the normal rules, it's normal they aren't going to risk their own money, right? Otherwise it doesn't make sense.
I just think in such situations the streamer/youtuber must state on his video description that it's a paid advertisement video, so the public will be aware the casino is sponsoring the video, consequently it will be a partial video in favor of the house.

If people are still disturbed by this marketing strategy I suggest them to stop listening to youtubers and stick only with the house edge and impartial feedbacks from independent reviews sites when choosing a casino to play.
5535  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elom Musk is farting, the whole crypto suffocates! Is Elon working with SEC? on: May 13, 2021, 11:37:21 PM
I feel bad for what he has done. I thought crypto community could really count on him to help promoting it and engaging new people to crypto currency. But he actually managed to destroy all the good he has done for crypto in just one tweet. I don't solely blame him though, because crypto currency is all about decentralization and freedom, while what people have done was to idolize Musk and put him on a demigod position, going totally against what crypto currency was meant for. A man who has so much influence power over his kind isn't the root of the problem, but a consequence of the first, that is the idolatry and lack of personality of the masses.

It's shocking to see how people allow themselves to be manipulated. I don't know if others know this expression, but it's the called *cattle*: unable to think and act by themselves, always waiting for a superior command to go with the herd without questions.

Now I really don't know what is the catch of Elon Musk. Or he is a fool, an irresponsible, a sockpuppet of globalists, or he is a very machiavellian person, just playing with prices to see how powerful is his influence on the market and of course, to buy the dip. I can't believe a guy like him didn't know about the sustainability of bitcoin mining and operational costs stuff before he started investing and promoting it on the social medias.
5536  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you guys happy if bitcoin will dropped to $10k? Why? on: May 13, 2021, 11:16:18 PM
There are advantages and disadvantages in bitcoin hitting 10,000$ and I really can't think if I would be happy or not for that.
why ? your supposed to know your self more . at what rate you accumulate or bought your btc . if its under 10k , its still an advantage for you to sell when price drop at 10k but it will be a disadvantage to buy
Well, as a holder it's always sad to see bitcoin falling, and on the other hand, as a potential buyer, bitcoin near 10,000$ is a great opportunity to buy more coins. The point is that in order to purchase bitcoins, investors like me need to have fiat disponible on that exact moment, what isn't a guarantee. In this case it would be a wasted opportunity. So I really don't know if I would be happy.

this market's season also causes a lot of bad news about crypto currency and many investors are discouraged to invest in bitcoin, what prevents the called mass adoption from happening, may also slow down many crypto projects, while bankrupting others.
bad news popped up recently but last time we are full of good news and they are bigger than bad news that we recieve . those that leave can come back , adoption and crypto projects can continue .
In the first post I'm saying about bad news that appear during bear seasons and impact bitcoin much more negatively than those bad news which appear during minor corrections and bull runs.
5537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling risks during coronavirus pandemic on: May 12, 2021, 07:29:05 PM
As we stay at home more it is inevitable that we will spend more time online, on social media, and online games. Several research studies have demonstrated that online gambling companies have benefited greatly as a consequence of this.

Yes, they are, but as responsible parents and family members we should know our limitation, we are in a pandemic and the economy from almost all countries are not doing good, and there's a possibility that we can get CoVid and get you hospitalized you should still limit the time and the money you allocate this is an uncertain time and a perilous one.
The problem here is that, most of the gambler didn't share to their family members that they gamble due to their personal reason so it is still a must to have self-control and always be responsible as a gambler, online gambling makes us more prone to addiction because of its accessibility. This pandemic makes a lot of changes into our lives, but it doesn't mean that you need to gamble that much, stay focus and always have limitations.
Unfortunatelly many gamblers who don't share their hobby to their families are the ones who suffer from addiction and will hardly be able to control themselves and be responsible when gambling. This situation is boosted by the pandemic and becomes worse as social interactions become less frequent and people tend to stay at home isolated also from their family members.
Those guidelines provided by OP are very important and I think it's already a matter of public health. Instead of forbidding gambling, governments should be working with public campaigns to promote those hints and advices to the population in general, so such informations can reach to problem gamblers who are not active in forums like this.
5538  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you guys happy if bitcoin will dropped to $10k? Why? on: May 12, 2021, 06:55:44 PM
There are advantages and disadvantages in bitcoin hitting 10,000$ and I really can't think if I would be happy or not for that. The point is that you can see the bear and the bull market always in a positive way if you think the glass is always half full. It's possible to benefit yourself from an expensive bitcoin price, by holding or selling and from a cheap bitcoin, by accumulating more coins.
On the other hand, a bear market isn't totally positive. You can buy cheap coins and that is really good, but this market's season also causes a lot of bad news about crypto currency and many investors are discouraged to invest in bitcoin, what prevents the called mass adoption from happening, may also slow down many crypto projects, while bankrupting others.
5539  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin for everyone on: May 12, 2021, 05:14:06 PM
year 2050:

some if's and assumptions:
 *99.9% of population has access to electricity and internet;
 * robots almost ready to do all the dirtiest and manual work for humans;
 *humans do mostly intellectual work, craft, art, etc.; they still can do manual and dirty work though, but only if they want to;
 *energy is clean, unlimited and practically free;
Who would need bitcoin or any other kind of money in a world like this? It looks like people would have everything they need to live confortably, without even being necessary to work in order to survive and thrive. Since most human's necessities would be supplied freely, financial trades become near to useless. If it really happens someday the last of your worries will be bitcoin and this extreme equality mania.
5540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What have you bought with Bitcoin? on: May 12, 2021, 03:55:54 PM
It's quite hard to buy something with bitcoin for me right now due to the lack of sellers accepting it as payment method, but the most notorious item I have bought with btc so far was in fact a bitcoin hardware wallet. Cheesy
I felt really glad to be able to finish this purchase with bitcoin and I would like to do this more often, paying with bitcoin for another products.
