Since we're all sharing updates...

AFCON promo: Outlay 1 mbtc on Senegal. 1 win, turned 0.2 blackjack into 0.4mbtc cash.
AO promo: Osaka's second win today, so 0.5mbtc freebets already, the minimum as Trofo said should happen (but I'm sure we can squeeze another!). Freebet dead yesterday, today we shall see.
Afcon 4-3-frees: $60 in freebets. All dead Wink

I have one AO outright on Tsitsi so still got skin in the game. Medvedev special yesterday was SO close. He needed to win straight sets and 6-0 on first set (ended up 6-1).

5522  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 19, 2022, 11:48:30 AM
yeah, I use to-do list (do not use mobile app, just website), did not had issues earlier
but, pretty sure that this one was not on my list, nevertheless, it passed good

Betis smashed Alaves last night, as expected, and Cadiz draw with Espanyol, more goals than expected

Barca is postponed, but Valencia is playing Sevilla, expecting good match, that can go on any side

I did expect the win, but didn't expect that kind of margin. Still feels so wrong that 1-0 and 3-0 get the same points in this Superbru system, but whoever got the Cadiz draw, well done. you're pulling away at the top, casper, hope we don't have same prediction on Sevilla Wink

Barca would have been in my pick but acca on Celta and Sevilla should net me some solid wins right? (I say this to convince myself anyway).
5523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 19, 2022, 11:20:54 AM
@leea Rafa isn't loved at Everton the club, but believe me, he'll be fine. The city he already loves and is part of a lot of things there, long before he took charge of Toffees. He'll be fine;)

Brighton were the better side for me overall, and the point was deserved. Tuchel is got some real work to do.
Brighton is a serious club and they always defend well. I expected this to be though for Chelsea but still I picked 2:1 win for them.

On another note, will Burnley ever play a match in Premier League or are they waiting for relegation? If I am counting ok they now have 6 postponements. Really getting ridiculous in some cases. Imagine a situation where Bunley brings a couple of high profile players during this transfer window and then wins all those postponed games. Totally irregular, but not gonna happen.

They were, weren't they! That guy Lamptey on the wing and the big hair guy on the left, they made things look exciting, they even had crisper passing at times than Chelsea, and they deserved a win I think. Lukaku disappointing, they got their goal from a long range effort that probably should have saved.

Burnley 6 postponements? They may find the time but will their opponents?
5524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌍⚽Sportsbet AFCON prediction pool discussion thread on: January 19, 2022, 09:31:55 AM
Yeah, guys. I only bet on them on day 1, and then still put a few of them on accas but not serious money. The 0-0 and 1-0 scorelines scared me off, and yes, while they've found a way to score many more goals, the quality is still lacking, and so these games still end up being tight af.

Comoros scoring 3 goals when they couldn't score before. First win at their first appearance? Should have counted on them eh.
5525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 18, 2022, 07:59:03 PM
regarding tonight matches, Burnley is postponed
so, Chelsea only, and they should win after all (would be interesting to see do we have 95+% consensus in a pool for this, because the odds are @1.75)

Would have gone against them if against a top team, as I did with City, but this is Brighton. A good team, and capable of taking points off Chelsea, but they're probably not good enough to get a clean sheet -- despite Chelsea's issues, I think Lukaku back on the starting lineup puts pressure off the other attackers to create.

Match starting, I won't mind losing this prediction to see a high-scoring draw. Just in that kind of mood.
5526  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 18, 2022, 04:28:08 PM
I thought that having half the pool missing their prediction for today's game was gonna be a good chance for some of us  to get some good points and get closer to those near the top of the leaderboard, but i guess the yellow piss submarine Villareal had other plans and decided shit the bed against relegation fodder... so unlucky, but at least nobody predicted the right outcome so all stays the same

yeah, I missed to pick this one, although I was sure that I have pick for it
I have put picks for AFCON, and had all green places within all pools, so did not looks closely, in the end, Elche was missing

nevertheless, Villareal save our asses, with their play, and Elche won in the end, everything good

Lol Casper, but at the very least, it's taken a default pick off those who didn't pick, so wasted pick for zero points maybe?

Have said before that if you use the Dashboard you see rightaway which picks need entering, but I guess you'd know anyway whichever page you use? But these games definitely switched into the round suddenly as I made my picks very close to time too.

GL tonight, gentlemen, I smell some upsets.
5527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: January 18, 2022, 12:34:59 PM
Yeah @bbc.reporter posted while still in the 1st. T.J Watt caused a penalty late in the game to cost them a 1st down from what I remember as buwaytress was right, most were still at the end of their glasses by the time the 4th came along.

@ralle14 I am with you on the rams as I think they will have a high scoring match against the Cards even though they have their own J.J Watt back in for this game.
Good luck to us who are backing L.A in this wild card match up not to miss.

Don't know what I was thinking, taking Cardinals last night and hoping for another mild upset. Told myself I wasn't going to bet anything more until Packers play again but ignored my own advice.

So at the moment, if they win Superbowl, I actually make a bit of money (had them on 8.5 odds) but I'm now tempted to just put a final bet on their next game so at least if they win I come away with "worthwhile" profit, or a hedge in case they actually don't make it.
5528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 18, 2022, 11:23:45 AM
Ouf, missed a really big special earlier with Medvedev. Needed him to win straight, but also the first set 6-0, as I suspected he'd go for a strong, strong start. Won the first set but 6-1, so missed out.

So far no surprises in either men's or women's to my untrained eye.

FYI there's a good Bitsler promo on 12 market. Lead by 4 games at any point and your bet refunded if your pick loses.
5529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: January 18, 2022, 10:35:51 AM
@tokes I'm always laying into Fred but he seems to be a tick or two better under Rangnick? My imagination?
There was a match he looked good but all in all it’s Manchester United.  With their financial muscle and the prestige I think they could easily acquire better players for the club.  City has way less prestige but they were able to do it.  United should hire a guy who’s good to handle the transfer market just like what City has in Txiki.  If they keep leaving that job to Ed Woodward, they won’t go anywhere.  But I guess that’s why they brought Rangnick in for an advisory role after the season.

To be fair, that's all United's been trying to do, buy prestige with the Ronaldos, de Beeks, Sanchos, Varanes, Sanchezes... and it's not quite worked out post Ferguson (who was really lucky to do it with a final prestige buy in van Persie). City's got a lot of money too but they've kept buying just below prestige level and worked to build them up.

Also, you can't really force a marriage for transfer policy with club playing style (IMO). If United want to modernise their transfer policy, then they have to modernise their playing identity first too. Ferguson built a club that relied on the van Persies, Ronaldos, Rooneys, Cantonas, to do the job for them at the front. They have to dismantle that first.

Oh, sorry, I forgot you're new. I'm "Sojourner" on Superbru. .....]
Ohhh, I just saw your rank in the pool, now my challenge is to beat you and Trofo since there is no star prize for the winner, Trofo leapfrogged me in the second round, and I'm only a few points behind him now.

You're welcome to beat me, I'm only 12th in the table. These tourneys are always tough to predict (UCL shows that, and we had pools in the last World Cup with similar seeming random outcomes) but if there's one thing I know from history, you never give up until QF/SF!

Wondering now if I should pick a few upsets, Morocco perhaps who don't need to win.
5531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 17, 2022, 03:37:57 PM
It was all heading so well, 6 correct outcomes out of 6, and I dared to think that perhaps maybe, finally, the elusive 3 slam points for 10/10 was en route. And then the biggest shocker of them all, a scoreless draw on the home ground of Serie A's 3rd highest goalscorer vs the leagues highest scoring team. 4-4 rdbase, you're really on some kind of roll over there Wink

Abberations, huh guys?
5532  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2022 bear market? on: January 17, 2022, 02:31:47 PM
Predicting the market from BTC point of view is becoming less significant. Recent trends have indicated that BTC movement now goes in opposite direction against some altcoins. Therefore, the market may not follow the existing circles which are derived from the influence of BTC over altcoins.

Says someone whose Avatar text talks about... fourth generation blockchain. At this rate, we might see 8 generations by next Bitcoin halving.

Like it or not, crypto is a Bitcoin point of view. Which recent (long-term) trends can you produce? Alts and deficoins getting ATH anytime in the last year is thanks to the (ongoing) rally of Bitcoin.

You'd have to be really stubborn to think otherwise.
5533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin payments decline as other cryptocurrencies grow on: January 17, 2022, 12:07:16 PM
Oh but of course, if people stop using BitPay, it means they've stopped using Bitcoin altogether now.

Coinspaid claims 2021 was its peak, growing each year in terms of Bitcoin payments processed using it. I guess they're lying.

BTCPayServer has been getting better and better, and merchants who pass through the hurdle of self-learning are saying they like it. But I guess they're lying too.

MisterTango, Coinpayment, Bitkassa are just some I've used in the past, and I know they're still developing new stuff. Would they be doing that if usage was not growing? Or are they part of the lie?
5534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌍⚽Sportsbet AFCON prediction pool discussion thread on: January 17, 2022, 10:24:23 AM
So anybody got any points from Ivory Coast and Algeria matches? I expected those two "known" teams to have an easy way out of the group and then to decide who is first in the last game. As it stands one of them could be out of the tournament very soon. I think there are some 3rd placed teams going trough so maybe there is still time.

Killed my tickets though, screw them.

Fat chance for me. Day 1 I tried some upsets, but missed all. Day 2 I thought I got smarter, but nope, favourites/strong teams screwed me. Day 3 I'm probably just going to go for favourites again and try to hit exacts. This should be the time they go for broke, or so my flawed logic tells me.

So long as I get another Senegal win, I guess I should be happy to try recoup the 1 mbtc from the outright. Have to feel sorry about anyone taking Algeria... heh.

Nice yellow cap CLS63!
5535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: January 17, 2022, 07:14:58 AM
Steelers are leading after a T.J Watt fumble recovery to slide it into the endzone, literally. And for his first career touchdown at that since he is on the Defensive line.
They were @5.80x to win prematch so maybe it wasn't such a crazy bet to take afterall.
Mahomes is looking bad and the old timer is showing the young gun what post season is all about.

Well, that didn't last long, did it? Ha. Weird that I wake up real early where I am and the games are all just about done. People probably still partying (or mourning into the bottom of a bottle).

@bbc.reporter Anyway, was fun all the way, and I might still squeeze in a bet or two here and there, but for now, looks like the only ticket I got left is the Packers outright.

5536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: January 17, 2022, 06:23:02 AM
I can say, with almost certainty, that maybe the 5 teams from Africa, can't beat (in a normal situation) almost half of the teams from Europe.
And I say more, not even these 5 can win the 5 best in Latin America (in a normal situation).

Of course they have little money and end up having little influence in FIFA, I totally agree. But even so, sportingly speaking, they still have a lot to grow. Look, I see a lot of African players playing in Portugal, and most of them find it difficult to assert themselves in big teams. We found good players, but they are very few, for the amount of players available.

They have to improve their training a lot! But I agree that FIFA should help more in this regard.

I wouldn't be so quick to pull out my guns and put convictions behind African teams not being able to beat European or LatAm teams. FIFA rankings already provide a picture of who can beat whom -- there are plenty of minnows in Europe, or in the Caucascus or in Central Asia now playing in Europe but also having low quality.

What to good teams have in common? Good long-term footballing infrastructure and investment. Bad teams? The opposite.

It's not just about "improving their training a lot" my friend. Look at Egypt, one of the best teams in Africa. A typical footballing career for a modern footballer for a big club there starts with training school that is in the city -- several hours drive from any of the villages a young talent would come from. Who's going to pay for that? Parents, we hope. Then there's the issue of school -- how do they go to school and train unless only on the weekends?

Salah famously commuted 8+ hours a day on something like 10 different buses just to go to train. Yes, he was committed, but you cannot blame 1000s of other kids who chose school or to help the family instead of training to go to football.

Compare this to say, even Netherlands on the fringes of European elite leagues, where every neighbourhood has a football pitch, every small city has a well-equipped, well-funded club and training grounds. Any kid who wants to play football has to walk not more than 15 minutes, gets sporting scholarships, help with education, etc.

Of course we don't need to talk about politics, economics, social structure etc. But it's really, really not just about training hard. That's a little disrespectful to African footballers (or anywhere else for that matter) who must not only try to play football, but to deal with all kinds of hardships along the way.

Does the GB on GBfund stand for gamblingbad? It sounds familiar for me because there is a bitcointalk username namely gamblingbad who claimed to be one of the investor in bit-exo and he lost a lot of money due to the scam by exo.

Well, I was quoting the guy saying it was him. I'd always known that name on the leaderboards, didn't realise it was him. GB's been around a lot, has been in every dice site I know. Kinda miss him and the bit-exo days. I was pretty sure he used a diff nick in BV though.

Hopefully it is fixed completely and no more complaints about empty hotwallet. I also hope lightlord is getting better now, it would be nice to see him back and back to actively updating his own thread.

Yeah, can we stop talking about LL, so this thread doesn't get hijacked by shitposters again? Have to remember what this thread is for.
5538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: January 16, 2022, 05:54:09 PM
Yeah, rd, yikes Patriots. Absolutely trouncing at the hands of Bills, so my parlay died early. Didn't expect them to go down without a proper fight, but there you go, I guess. Feel like I ought to just double down and bet on Steelers to make it through this, but as it stands I only have Packers left, but at least is Steelers make it through, I'll have won a big game with odds like this, and hedges my Packers outright heh.

So Steelers @6.50 is my pick.

Remaining pre-season picks:
Steelers @91 > 251 > 201 > 71
Packers @8.5 > 4.60

^Need to see the keeper you guys are talking about, he that good eh?

I didn't see your name in the pool and was curious as to where you stood on the leaderboard and why you didn't use your full name. I'm watching every game with a heavy heart, hoping that the playing style will change, but nothing has.

Oh, sorry, I forgot you're new. I'm "Sojourner" on Superbru. My forum nick is actually a nonsense name I only used as when I first signed up, I thought it wouldn't be for long so used a throwaway account. Ironically, my actual forum account made a couple of years before I totally lost, can't even remember the nick, so stuck to using this Wink

Is there any CAF news on the game that concluded in the 89th minute the other day? And what about the Ghanaian team's misbehavior the other day? More dramas will ensue if they let everything slip and no one takes responsibility.

Yeah, extended Tetteh's ban, so he won't see 3 games, if they even get that far. I get why they were incensed, but you know, just can't expect sportsmanship from all teams these days, and you're naive if you get punished for expecting it. I think the whole team should have been fined though.
5540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 16, 2022, 03:38:45 PM
Phew, wasn't such a bad game to watch actually. First half looked nervy but for some reason Brentford look subdued after the restart. 20 shots on goal, 10 on target before we got the second goal, so I'd say well worth the win but should have got more and it'd be fair (and remember we went 3-3 on the first meet). Nice to see Ox get his goal after so long, not nice he seemed to get injured soon after. Even nicer to see our man Bobby totally unselfish, insisted Minamino to score, and then piggybacked him on the celebration. I love this team, have I mentioned? Haha.

Even Wolves disappointed me, when was the last time they scored 3 goals in EPL? And see, we need to lay into Adama Traore hard, so he scores!
From what I was watching on some reviews of the match I believe they said 1974 was the last time they scored so many goals in the match.
This total was 70% of the goals they had scored in the EPL this season. If that isn't a statistic to laugh at.

Wow, almost 50 years then! I know they've been an attrition club for a bit, but talk about tradition, had no idea it stretched back that long!

Meanwhile, we've just had another manager casualty in Rafa Benitez. Norwich sure took him out.
