Listen kiddo, you aren't Warren Buffet and you must show your constituency that you take great care and pride in your work, and that includes having a serious website. Do you plan to show up to the debates in a suit made out of duct tape to show us that, in addition to being a 1337 console h/\ck3r, you are a 1337 clothing h/\ck3r?

Get a grip and show some damn respect for the voters. That website design, the "server" running it, and your attitude are absolutely disgusting.

But really, my website isn't the prettiest, but it isn't THAT bad.  It's actually pretty similar looking to this Bitcointalk forums site.

Yeah, I've been bitching about this site and it's lack of video or tweet embedding for like 6 months now. Of course, forums aren't supposed to be pretty but anyway, it was just the first thing that came across my mind when I viewed your site. http://www.tom4michigan.com/ is a nice looking site and has all the bare essentials. Hopefully, you and Tom will become colleagues shortly. Smiley Of course, Tom is a neanderthal since he hasn't heeded my words to accept BTC.
5542  Other / Politics & Society / Obama seeks $500M to train, equip Syrian rebels on: June 28, 2014, 09:56:21 PM
Quote
President Barack Obama, under pressure from some lawmakers for greater U.S. backing for Syria's opposition, asked Congress Thursday for $500 million to train and arm vetted members of the Syrian opposition Wink, as the United States considers options to stem an ongoing civil war that has also seeped into neighboring Iraq.

The military training program would deepen the Obama administration's involvement in the more than three-year conflict between rebels and forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. If approved by Congress, the program would supplement a covert train-and-assistance program run by U.S. intelligence agencies.

Obama has been under strong pressure from some lawmakers, such as Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona, to increase assistance to the rebels in Syria's conflict.

Deja Vu. Mental patient McCain is back at it again trying to arm and train the same types that are now causing all the shit in Iraq. That way, keep the terrorists in full gear and ammo to keep stirring up shit to make the case for the neocons wanting to go back into Iraq or where ever else in the future. And, it's all in plain sight. Angry

Quote
The White House said the money would help defend the Syrian people, stabilize areas under opposition control, facilitate the provision of essential services, counter terrorist threats and promote conditions for a negotiated settlement.

"This funding request would build on the administration’s longstanding efforts to empower the moderate Syrian opposition, both civilian and armed, and will enable the Department of Defense to increase our support to vetted elements of the armed opposition," the White House said.

The Syria program is part of a broader $65.8 billion overseas operations request that the administration sent to Capitol Hill.
We send more money overseas than the total GDPs of multiple westernized countries. Glad to have Bitcoin in my life.

There's definitely a market that needs to be fed in terms of offering suped up/encrypted phones that have a normal price range. I'm sure there's some BTC startup thinking about such a service.
5545  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-06-28] Congressional Candidate B.J. Guillot talks Bitcoin and Politics on: June 28, 2014, 08:46:12 PM
For such a computer guy, his Congressional website is shit. The current rep is a democrat who narrowly escaped being deposed last time. It does look like BJ is out there campaigning attending republican events and such so best of luck.
.  For modern campaigns, the actual websites aren't as important as social media sites like Facebook and Twitter, so I didn't want to spend an undue amount of time or money spiffing up the basic website.
It's perception, brother. Mediocre websites belittle one's candidacy even though I agree that social sites are key.  Any other republican competition or are you setting your sights on the general already? Also, what kind of republican would you say that you'd liken yourself to. I saw on your FB page some ode to Bush the 1st.

5548  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Greenwald 'imminent' NSA release (Jun 23 2014) Vote predictions! on: June 28, 2014, 06:38:43 PM
My vote would be for US Supreme Court Justices. On one hand they twisted the tax language to make it (Obamacare) normal and not a mandatory purchase of something since it's merely a tax plus all the pro-state decisions up until recently when they ordered that police must have a warrant to check someone's smart phone like it's a home record. Every decision prior in recent times indicated a leniency towards broader governmental police powers then all of a sudden they slap this one down. Something fishy going on up on the high court.

5550  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Mexican Military chopper opens fire on US Border Patrol Agents on: June 28, 2014, 05:32:43 PM
These border posts usually have what, a couple handfuls of agents on at any one time so it's not like any group of them is a force to be reckoned with. A couple years ago I was going through the steps to become a Border agent but backed out as I saw the Fast and Furious heating up. What I can say is, these agents are not hardcore kind of people for the most part. Outside of learning Spanish fluently, the other main aspect of testing is being able to run 6-9 miles so many of them have slender builds. I'm sure they all can shoot proficiently but they aren't gritty in the sense of the term. Plus, I can imagine all the politics that's been going on that many of them are aware of and morale can't be good especially if the US govt is hanging them out to dry all the while facilitating easy illegal entry into the country and jetsetting them to other locations. The govt's behavior is so brazen on all of these corruption aspects that the people are gonna be in a populist minded position come the next few elections at least.

Short reporting clip from Russia Today on it:

Quote
Citing concerns over the NSA's wiretapping of Chancellor Angela Merkel and other top officials' phones, the German Interior Ministry announced Thursday that it will not renew its contract with Verizon to provide service for government ministries. As part of an effort to revamp its secure communications networks, the country will instead rely on Germany's own Deutsche Telekom. RT's Ameera David has more details on the announcement and its fallout.
Apparently, Merkel got herself a new 3400$ Blackberry w/ some special crypto chip in it so that all her communications are on lock down. I hope this is just a start in a world backlash against the NSA as well as continual and rising opposition to it from many her in America (notice I don't say the United States).
5552  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Karl Rove and the modern money machine on: June 28, 2014, 03:43:27 AM
you are actually trying to defend rove? rove's game, as it is obviously stated in the article, has been to inject as much money into the political game as possible. your party was behind the citizens united ruling. it's kind of funny how you treat any kind of criticism of the far right as "some conspiracy theory from the left," when all you need to do to hear crazy is tune into fox.
If defending Rove was what you got out of my paragraph then perhaps there's a communication barrier or something because I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire. All I was doing was partially showcasing exactly how the left operates in their media which is then used as talking points by the drones that listen/read it. I have family that regurgitate the same old nonsense when confronted about their peoples' policies which are indefensible. They immediately try to flip the script and deflect it by saying the Kock Brothers... fill in the blank bunk. I'm not saying Rove is wrong or is illegal in what he's doing. He's a consultant saboteur that is hell bent on driving the Chamber of Commerce wing of the GOP right over the grassroots/Tea Party/Liberty Movement base in nearly every instance. There's two main flavors of the GOP anti-est and establishment. The anti-est is made up of the former among others. The establishment likely has a few variations but typically have more tolerance for each other than most of the anti-establishment base.

The long and short of it is, there's division in the GOP because ideals and principles are at stake which makes the insider crowd having more in common w/ the left. The base has had it with the establishment insiders that spend loads of money in GOP primaries against their own instead of reserving it to go against the Dems. The base also calls out their establishment leaders like Boehner when he pushes through a debt limit increase or amnesty as an example. I'm not seeing the division on the left nor do they ever seem to call out their people or take them to task in any large manner. It's always the Koch brothers as a response instead of, "God Damn Obama/Pelosi/Reid for doing X, Y or Z" which doesn't happen.
5553  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Karl Rove and the modern money machine on: June 27, 2014, 11:34:23 PM
The piece paid lip service to this happening from the left but the main goal was to go all class warfare and focus on a biography of Rove and his links to Bush. The left covers their stances on the critical issues of the day by muddying the waters w/ Koch bros this and Rove-Bush that. That said, Rove's main goal has always been triangulation which means, govern as much to the left while maintaining legitimacy as a right winger. The only fiscal conservative aspect of the Rove's is their disdain for higher taxes on the 1% and less Wall street regulations. However, Wall street is tied at the hip w/ the Federal Reserve and consequentially the entire government apparatus so there is where the crony capitalism or fascism comes into play. These guys are no friends of liberty nor are their counterparts on the left. They grow govt like the left in different areas while throwing each other bones to keep the wheels greased in off-years. These neocon republicans need to be purged out of the party or at least put on the back bench and let Rand Paul reshape the brand back to where it should be w/ a populist brand of libertarianism. Once and if successful, we can't debate the concepts between minarchism and full ancapism.

Front and center on the Drudge Report which is one of the top rated websites in the Western world.
Quote
“The incident occurred after midnight and before 6 a.m. Helicopter flew into the U.S. and fired on two U.S. Border Patrol agents,” Del Cueto said in a statement to KVOA. “The incident occurred west of the San Miguel Gate on the Tohono O’odham Indian Nation. The agents were unharmed. The helicopter went back into Mexico. Mexico then contacted U.S. authorities and apologized for the incident.”

Del Cueto said four agents were in a marked patrol vehicle when they were shot at.

“They could say they didn’t fire at the agents intentionally. But for them to say that they were no shots fired within the United States, toward the United States Border Patrol, is a lie. They got in contact with our managers and apologized for the incident,” Del Cueto said.

Andy Adame, Border Patrol spokesperson, said that Mexican authorities fired two shots at the border agents.
“Two shots were fired from the helicopter but no injuries or damage to U.S. property were reported,”

I feel bad for all of those that live along the border in TX and AZ that have to deal w/ the spill over and all the rampant funneling of illegals into the country. There's a whole other list of stories to corroborate this on Drudge.

I figured that the money that Bitcoin Foundation was pooling was going partially towards protocol development. It would only make sense that some of this VC money coming in would be incentivized to go to solidify the overall system so all ships stay raised.

It's so great to see stories like this because the alternative for more adoption to occur would be for more people to log on to their computers, read up on Bitcoin and then get themselves an online wallet and figure out the rest. Keeping it simple and allowing people just to use their phone and link up at one of these ATMs (Bitcoin modules) is great for the future. Reminds me of parts of going into the future in the movie, "Back to the Future Part II". Grin

Since this is so new I'd suspect it would be wise to let some of these traders establish their brand before latching on to any one of them (there's very few providers at this point anyway). Something to keep an eye on tho.
5559  Other / Politics & Society / Former NSA Chief Goon Alexander Peddling State Secrets to Banking Cartel on: June 26, 2014, 08:19:36 PM
Snarky Lawmaker Reminds Former NSA Chief That Selling State Secrets Is Illegal
Quote

Cybersecurity firms and snake-oil salesmen promising protection from online threats are ubiquitous these days, and it’s hard to stand out in such a crowded field—unless you’re the former leader of the world’s best hacking outfit. In that case, the promises you sell carry more weight—and a higher price tag.

Which may well explain why Gen. Keith Alexander, the former head of the NSA and U.S. Cyber Command, has launched the consulting firm IronNet Cybersecurity. It also may explain why a congressman has reminded the former spy that selling top secret info is a crime.

To capitalize on his recent departure from military intelligence—Alexander resigned in March following months of revelations by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden—the general is offering his security expertise to the banking industry for the fire sale price of $600,000 per month after first asking for

$1 million.

There are threats everywhere, Alexander warns, and “It would be devastating if one of our major banks was hit, because they’re so interconnected.”

That may be, but Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Florida) is suspicious that Alexander has anything useful to offer at that price—unless, that is, he’s peddling national security secrets.
In letters sent Wednesday (.pdf) to the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, the Consumer Bankers Association, the Financial Services Roundtable and the Clearing House—all of which Alexander reportedly has approached about his services—Grayson made it clear to Alexander and those who might retain him that selling classified information is illegal.

“I am writing with concerns about the potential disclosure of classified information by former National Security Agency Director Keith Alexander,” Grayson wrote. “Disclosing or misusing classified information for profit is, as Mr. Alexander well knows, a felony.

“I question how Mr. Alexander
can provide any of the services he is offering
unless he discloses or misuses classified information,

including extremely sensitive sources and methods,” Grayson continued. “Without the classified information he acquired in his former position, he literally would have nothing to offer to you.”

Grayson’s staff says the congressman has not yet received a response from Alexander or any of the organizations that received the letter.

“The Congressman is very interested in what they have to say,” said Matt Stoller, Grayson’s senior policy advisor, in an email to WIRED.
Alexander could not be reached for comment. Roll Eyes

5560  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Vox, derp, and the intellectual stagnation of the Left on: June 26, 2014, 06:41:46 PM
Most of these doctrinaire liberal koolaid writers and drinkers are so against certain elements on the right that they fit their arguments (or whatever) around their perceived hate. When they know they have the lower hand on an issue, they immediately start talking about the Koch Bros and the money that they donate to Tea Party/Liberty republican types/PACs. And yes, the left is a phony mental disease society that plays down to the lowest common denominator w/o giving the real world facts to their minions to understand the big picture, hence destroying their premise to raise the min wage and tax the producing class more. Problem is here, the left has so destroyed the job market over past 6 years that untold millions are out of work and likely won't make it back anytime soon unless policy changes and the market loosens up. Formerly productive people are now unfortunately advocating for expanding entitlements just to get by in life and that's before we take into consideration all the illegals being shipped in and allowed to vote. If the traditional dem voting block (black folks) don't show up like they did in '08, then you get republican takeovers (US House) of 2010 and keeping it in 2012. The GOP is likely going to take back the Senate and keep the House here in 2014 despite the typical class warfare tactics of the left that has nothing else to run on...last of which is their party's current record on policy which has brought to where we are.

Finally, just think of all the drones in society that are just expendable parts of the bigger and bigger govt experiments and how if they knew anything about Bitcoin that they'd be much better off personally and also shutting down that which is strangling them.
