Can you explain in more details what exactly happened and perhaps post some proof of the scam according to the Scam Report Format or in any other way you think is better?
You deposited your BTC into an address they provided you with, and after that?

You have very good points but Binance could pay its users back because they didn't really leave the exchange behind due to lack of better alternatives and since they weren't still enforcing KYC like they do today. So they could continue making money and paid them back slowly.
Another point worth considering is how much was hacked and stolen in relation to the amount the exchange earned at that time. Even though Binance lost $40 million worth of crypto, they make much more than that and can afford to pay it back from their own pockets. If the stolen sum was something crazy like $400 million worth of BTC, we would maybe have seen a different ending to that story.

...it is possible he is a Muslim himself that's why he never talks about Islam.
Maybe, but I don't think he is because of that post above where he accuses blacks of robing white people through Bitcoin. Muslims aren't exactly white. If you think or Arabs and Turks, you don't picture a white person. Some European Muslims are white like Albanians or Bosnians, but the majority isn't. Even if you go further up to the ex-Soviet countries to Azerbaijan, for example. The people there have a more Asian look than a Caucasian one. A very interesting blend of Russian and Asian to be precise. Anyways, it doesn't matter, he needs help.

niggers thieves and corrupt shts are ready for bitcoin to be closed off from humans  You arent going to be allowed to rob white people anymore and violent war is coming
The truth has finally been spoken. I see it so clearly now. Satoshi was a black thief who created Bitcoin to rob the superior white race off its riches. Damn those blacks and their evil Bitcoin creations taking all our money. It has to stop!

On a serious note. This person really shouldn't be here. His suffering is more than just mild-mannered. Isn't this the same guy who not only hates blacks, but also Jewish people and Indians? I don't remember coming across any Islamophobic comments from him (yet), but I see no reason why he shouldn't discriminate against Muslims when he has a problem with everything else.
5547  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: [VELIKA LISTA] Hardverski novčanici (80+) on: April 24, 2022, 04:38:22 PM
<Snip>
A ako izgubiš seed naravno izgubio si i kripto. Grin

A kako onda uraditi wallet recovery iz te datoteke ako jednog dana OrigoKey prestane pružati svoje usluge i proizvoditi hardverske novčanike? Taj dio nam nisu objasnili.

https://netzpolitik.org/2022/climate-measures-behind-closed-doors-eu-officials-talk-about-banning-bitcoin/

Quote
If Ethereum is able to shift, we could legitimately request the same from BTC. We need to “protect” other crypto coins that are sustainable. Don’t see need to “protect” the bitcoin community.

...those who own Bitcoin are aware of the currency’s large price fluctuations. „Do not need additional protection measures.

5549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Behind closed doors, EU officials talk about banning Bitcoin" on: April 24, 2022, 09:10:33 AM
Somehow after reading this piece I have a bad feeling. It's a different kind of feeling compared to the usual FUD and silly attempts and opinions we see by those in power. The truth doesn't matter. If they get enough scumbags to pursue this dream of their... who knows what can happen. If you read the article, you would see that no one mentioned that it would be desirable to have miners who use fossil fuels switch to cleaner energy sources. Wouldn't that be proof of caring about the environment? Compare it with old diesel cars in Germany. There isn't an outright ban on all cars, just those below the EURO 5 or EURO 6 standard.

If their goal is reduce emissions from fossil fuels, make it more affordable to acquire green energy. But that's not going to happen.
They need to get enough support from the biggest mining centre (the US) to be able to drastically change anything. I doubt and hope they won't.
5550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where have you saved your bitcoin keys? (satoshi saved it in cd rom! allegedly) on: April 24, 2022, 08:37:55 AM
Whoever that is on the conspiracy forum, it's surely not satoshi. Satoshi didn't write nonsense like that. He is/was most probably a native English speaker. That post was written by someone who isn't. CDs are unreliable storage mediums, and they are digital. I have music CDs who have stopped working for no reason at all.

No digital or online copies of your seed and private keys are recommended. All physical ways to do backups work. Some are better than others. A piece of paper is OK. A laminated piece of paper is better. Engraving your words on stainless steal is even better. Engraving and hiding your steal backups in places people would never look is a whole new level. You could also secure your seed with washers.
5551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I lost my bitcoin on: April 24, 2022, 08:21:16 AM
I've got a feeling that you never owned any bitcoin to begin with, considering you claim that you have met a completely random person on a "hookup app" and they created everything for you including your bitcoin wallet!
You may only had a watch-only address that contained some bitcoins that didn't belong to you (you didn't have the key to from the start).
It wouldn't be the first time something like that happened. But let's say that John really purchased those coins for him, he didn't get scammed, and the whole story is true. His house burnt down destroying his backup. The best thing that can happen is if John has a copy of the seed/private keys and he managed to get hold of him. Doubtful. The second-best thing is if the coins are stored on a centralized exchange where OP underwent KYC and he can get back into his account by proving who he is and restoring the password through email.

When we are on the subject of KYC, did you have to do identity verification on the site where you bought the coins or did John maybe ask you for your personal documents?
5552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unregulated Trading Platforms on: April 24, 2022, 08:09:30 AM
3.  No authorities will help not even Coinbase where the transactions were wired from.
I don't know why you can said this, but technically it's possible since Coinbase can freeze someone funds.
The coins he sent are not on Coinbase. He deposited on some fake trading platform that was advertised to him over WhatsApp. Coinbase can only take action if assets are located in their wallets. Centralized stablecoins can be frozen by the issuers controlling them no matter where they are. Both on private wallets and on exchanges.

Can I tell on blockchair if they use a centralized exchanges or custodial wallet, i can see my transaction on blockchair i think it is the same because the date, time and  the amount transferred is very close ?
You can follow the money trail on a service such as Wallet Explorer. Check where they are moving the coins, maybe they will end up on a centralized exchange where they went through KYC. Doubtful but possible. Even if that happens, you can't just contact the exchange and ask for information about account owners. No one is going to give you that. Unless you are planning to take legal actions, you should just forget about it.

So is this a website where they made you believe that you can trade and be profitable? If that is the case, you really need to use common sense and think logically before you believe in things like that. Do you even know how to trade? Can you read charts, recognize patterns, etc.? Before sending your crypto anywhere, do some research on what you are doing before it's too late.

Perhaps they have a way of communicating with them something like a customer service, I believe all trading platform should have this (except this was mainly designed to scam people).
The entire system is set up to scam people. Those running the site are behind the scam. It makes no sense to contact customer service on such platforms.
5553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I lost my bitcoin on: April 24, 2022, 07:47:23 AM
So John gave you the paper, which means that he was the one who generated the wallet and wrote down the recovery seed or the private key. If that is what was on the paper. Or was it maybe login details to an exchange (a username and password). The only way to regain access to your coins is through the seed and private key.

Before your imprisonment, did you ever check that the coins are there?
You said you met him on Tinder, can't you find him there any longer?
What about his full name, you surely know that if you call him a friend. You shared a home with the guy. have you tried looking for him over social media?
5554  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Features - Less is More on: April 24, 2022, 07:17:39 AM
You are not accepting that this topic is about electrum's security model and not about mine. In your opinion I should mitigate all vulnerabilities and flaws that electrum has and will ever have.
You are welcome to take your suggestions to Electrum's GitHub, explain your reasoning, and propose new solutions. Anyone can create a new issue thread. Who knows, maybe you will even get some support by the community. I remain skeptical, but that's just me. Maybe the Electrum developers even have a way to check how often a feature of their software is used. Although that would look like spying on their customers. Ask and see if there is any data that can back up your theory of unused and unwanted features.

Mt. Gox is a very peculiar case and I don't think we will ever find out the entire truth about what happened there. Was it only a hack or was it an exit scam? Was it a combination of both, where we first had a hack and then the owner took advantage of the situation and stole some coins as well? Who knows. But Mt. Gox is a good example that even the best and most popular CEXes can break overnight. CZ is a businessman like any other. He certainly doesn't put his customer's interests above his own, but by refunding millions of dollars worth of BTC, he has placed himself in a position where people will gladly return and use his exchange instead of something else. That doesn't have to mean anything, but still.
5556  Economy / Gambling / Re: RTP Rates from Slots Crypto-game Providers (The list and the infographic) on: April 24, 2022, 06:55:41 AM
I was wondering whether if there is a slots out there that has 99% RTP I am not really sure about it since I am not familiar with slots but is it possible that they offer 99% RTP?
They are very rare, but you can come across older slot games with RTP rates above 99%. For example, there is a game by Playtech called Ugga Bugga. It's RTP rate is 99.07% If you try it out for free and play a few spins, you really don't notice the higher returning rates. Visually, it's not very appealing either. The most old-school kind of slot where you are actually presented with a slot machine is Mega Joker with an RTP of 99% This is a game developed by NetEnt.

You can find several other examples by doing a Google search for "slot games with the highest RTP" or something like that. Here is just one example.

@Pmalek, Seems like you haven't noticed the recent created topic of user ‘bitcasinorank’. Here is it: RTP Rates from Slots Crypto-game Providers (The list and the infographic)
I didn't come across this thread yet, so thanks for making me aware of it. Yes, it's a good source of information for source games. I have included it in my collection. I wish the table was actually posted on Bitcointalk instead of on a Google spreadsheet. That would have made it even better. At least we can see the average RTP rates in the OP though.
5558  Economy / Gambling / Re: Pmalek’s Collection of The Best Gambling Threads and Discussions on: April 23, 2022, 06:58:53 PM
Sorry don't get me wrong. I was not suggesting those threads. I was telling about my experience on the Gambling, Gambling and discussions boards.
Don't worry, I understood what you were trying to say. I was also just explaining my reasoning why certain discussion threads aren't included. When I think about it, it would be better if I removed the word "discussions" from the title altogether. The threads aren't pointing to discussions in that sense.
5559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Paradox of Gambling behavior on: April 23, 2022, 06:50:39 PM
Most gamblers have an addiction they don't even realize they have. It seems to them that they can give up gambling very easily, but in fact it is not so since their mogul is used to receive incentives when they win.
That's because people believe that admitting they have a problem or a disease is a sign of weakness. But it isn't. In a moment of weakness, you became addicted. That's not good. But it's worse lying about it and not being willing to accept that situation and show a desire to change.

One thing that you can hear is that gambling addicts will try to tell you how they are not addicted, they are just playing because they like it and they can stop anytime. The thing is, that time never seems to come...
5560  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Features - Less is More on: April 23, 2022, 06:36:25 PM
To answer your question: Just as an example... Maybe a future (or present) feature can be used to activate the (built-in Wifi) network adapter of my device which I carefully disabled? Maybe it works as a trigger for other software or even OS components to start the network adapter? We will not know it until the day it actually happens. That's what they call vulnerabilities/exploits.
That's the problem and the point I am trying to make. You are not supposed to have network adapters and WIFI cards present in your airgapped system. They should be physically removed. If they aren't there, a bug, vulnerability, or malware can't activate something that doesn't exist. That's why I said properly airgapped device.

Unfortunately, we are going back to your security model again. If your security model mitigates most attack vectors, you don't need to worry what is going on with the code in the features you aren't using.
