5541  Economy / Speculation / Re: How are bitcoin and alt price charts connected? on: May 19, 2019, 11:45:36 AM
Before 2017, bitcoin had most of the cryptocap market share, something like 80-90%. When an alt pumped, bitcoin price typicially didn't budge. Now, when one of the major coins move they all move with it. My first question is how is this happening? when the demand for bitcoin goes up and the price goes up, why are pretty much the top 50 coins going up as well? Same with when the price goes down. I don't believe that people all of a sudden put money into all the coins at once, something else is going on maybe someone can explain?
The main point of concern I have is that if this continues, it's going to be hard to get bitcoin price into 6 figures because of all these stupid shitcoins that have to get dragged along with it.
How and why is this an all or nothing game? Thoughts?

You are asking a pretty stupid question. There are 3 answers:
1.All the traders have to buy altcoins with btc.
2.The crypto whales are pumping altcoin prices by buying altcoins with btc.
3.Cryptocurrency exchange platforms are pumping the altcoin prices by faking trading volumes and other price manipulations.
5542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the oldest bitcoin address you still have control over? on: May 19, 2019, 11:41:52 AM

I've posted a signed message with a bitcoin address here 3-4 years ago just in case my account gets hacked.
I'm too lazy to search for that post and I don't see any point.
I don't know if I still have control over that address, though.
5543  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Can $50 Million From Banks Add To The Crypto Industry? on: May 19, 2019, 05:28:47 AM
Time to time, we big financial players diving into the cryptocurrency industry, now big banks around the world want to invest $50 Million into cryptocurrency. According to this news... https://www.cryptoinformers.info/news/143-banks-set-to-invest-50-million-in-digital-cash-settlement-project

What do you think $50 million will add to this multi-billion industry?

With 50 million USD you could pump some penny altcoin price a lot and make a shitload of money.
I don't know about any other way to invest in the crypto industry.
Anyway,I think this is fake news and "digital cash" doesn't allways mean cryptocurrency.
They might try to create something like paypal, skrill, venmo, neteller, etc.
5544  Other / Off-topic / Re: Books or YouTube videos? on: May 19, 2019, 05:19:00 AM
For me,the content format doesn't matter that much. It's all about the quality of the content.
I would say that I prefer good videos and books rather than bad videos and books.
I know that most of the young people are too damn lazy to read books and articles, but I really enjoy reading.
5545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To bust Casino? Blackjack, myths and reality on: May 19, 2019, 05:15:30 AM
Why the hell are you writing (or copy pasting) such a long thread?
Nobody is going to read that novel. Grin
We all know that it's almost impossible to cheat a casino and it's 100% impossible to create the ultimate winning gambling strategy.Gambling is not about making money,it's about spending money(that you can afford to lose) for fun.
5546  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where's FOMO at? Tom Lee on: May 19, 2019, 05:11:10 AM
The bitcoin price recovered pretty fast (it's currently around 7800 USD) from the recent price crash and maybe Tom Lee is on the right track. We might be heading towards 10K USD,which is amazing.I though that we will reach 10K somewhere around the summer of 2020.
Anyway,I'm not that enthusiastic.I new price crash might happen anytime soon.

Bank of England’s Chief Economist Thinks Bitcoin Could Replace Cash

Andrew G Haldane, the chief economist of the Bank of England, said bitcoin is on its way to replace cash, according to an eyewitness’s account. The 51-year academic made the statement when he was interacting with an audience of students.

https://www.newsbtc.com/2019/05/18/bank-of-englands-chief-economist-thinks-bitcoin-could-replace-cash/

He was probably drunk. Grin
No central bank clerk is allowed to say that bitcoin will ever replace fiat money.
Bitcoin cold possibly replace cash after a few decades,so I don't see any point in the "could btc replace cash" discussion.
5548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Same thing happens to everyone who tries that! on: May 19, 2019, 04:57:43 AM
This message is to anyone who think being on a mission to kill Bitcoin is a "wise" decision. Use Craig Wright as a case study and compare it to the life he'd have if he were to focus on building his own platform and promoting it in his own way.

Secondly, take a look at all those so-called "Bitcoin killer coins" and look at their fate without Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is the most loved asset in this ecosystem and so it's meaningless to try to make it your hunting mission. Together, Bitcoin lovers are stronger than anyone or any coin.

So next time you think about killing Bitcoin, remember you'll be "dead and forgotten" before you even start.

Have a nice evening!!!

The bitcoin "killers",like Roger Ver and Craig Wright just wanted to create a better version of bitcoin(and they failed miserably).By the way,the forum members here can't kill bitcoin because they don't have the money, hashpower and influence in order to do that,so your post is kinda pointless.
5549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Tempted to market buy a boatload of $SHIFT right now! on: May 18, 2019, 05:08:57 PM
I am 100% sure that this coin will never recover to 10 USD.It might recover to $1 which is still a pretty nice profit,if you buy at 0.35 USD.
I'm currently looking at the Shift project website, and I don't understand their business.
Is it some kind of corporate consulting?

It seems dgtx wont join the bull of btc anytime soon. Expect this token to drop to 1 cent before adam and team delivers the product. Partnership announcement doesnt compensate the fact that you lied to your investors about bugs and videos shown not showing/telling us the bugs.

This is one of the tweet replies from the Smartdecteam tweet.I don't think that the guy,who posted the reply  is lying.
OP,you are advocating way too much on DGTX and I don't believe that the people will trust you about your statement that is not a paid post or advertisement.
5551  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-18] Bitcoin’s Rally May Not Be Finished Just Yet on: May 18, 2019, 04:43:37 PM
"Are you still holding that positive stance or already afraid that we are going back to the bearish territory?"

Of course, this rally is not yet done. Just another temporary hiccups as the price of bitcoin is already recovering, volumes are still up and more people are on the FOMO phased again.

Coordinated selling, way to term 'price manipulation'.  Grin. Some goes to the entity who bought $100 million after April fools,  Grin

That price manipulation managed to succeed only for less than 24 hours. Now the price of bitcoin is 7300 USD
which isn't bad.I wonder how selling only 5000 btc can influence the entire market that much.Maybe there was a "snowball" effect that triggered panic selling for a short time.
5552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you are regretting not encashing read this ' on: May 18, 2019, 04:39:56 PM
What "major companies" are you talking about? Can you mention a few?
I don't care about what german politicians think about bitcoin.Even if Germany and the EU ban bitcoin, there's is still the rest of the world that embraces btc.
I'm still hodling my bitcoins and no price crash will convince me to sell.
5553  Other / Off-topic / Re: What can we do for living long life? on: May 18, 2019, 12:06:19 PM
The quality and meaning of our lives are more important than years.
I long but tedious, meaningless and boring life is way less valuable than a short, but meaningful life.
Anyway, avoid all the nasty addictions and stress, have a purpose and you'll be fine.
5554  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Message to all Brits who voted for sovergnity, you are damn idiots on: May 18, 2019, 12:01:52 PM
you will lose more sovergnity and democracy then ever before althoug you voted to leave for sovereignity and for democracy

the more you are dropping our the more you will realise what a worthless junk democracy is if your currency is worth nothing,

you are so damn overdue to get that.

have fun learning

Will Britain ever leave the EU?I'm not quite sure that they will leave.
They will postpone Brexit and the negotiations for a deal will continue forever.
Many people from England realized that Brexit was a mistake.
5555  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Blockchain Domains and their Use Cases on: May 18, 2019, 11:38:45 AM
I've been hearing about Unstoppable Domains recently and wanted to know the reason behind putting domain names on the blockchain. The use cases are pretty relevant to UX issues- first being the intimidating cryptographic characters associated with a address. The domain would allow the user to have a simple human readable address that could connect to (BTC, ETH, LTC addresses)

The other use case being a website that the user owns and is free from censorship since they own their domain name and address.

To my knowledge no one is doing this but I do like the use case situations

Owning a domain name and address doesn't matter, when it comes to censorship. It's all about the internet service providers (ISP) and how neutral they are.
I like the idea of connecting domains with bitcoin addresses, but it simply won't happen, because we are used to the current long and ugly addresses.

Bitstamp Starts Investigation After Large BTC Sell Leads to $250 Mln Liquidated on BitMEX

Bitstamp reported an execution of a large sell order in BTC to United States dollars (USD) on its platform today, as the exchange wrote earlier today.
While the company has not specified the details of the transaction, the price of bitcoin had plummeted about 20% from around $7,800 to as low as $6,250 in less than 30 minutes earlier on the day, according to data from trading analytics platform TradingView.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitstamp-starts-investigation-after-large-btc-sell-leads-to-250-mln-liquidated-on-bitmex

There are two possibilities,I guess:
1.Some big crypto whale is selling all his bitcoins.
2.Bitmex are selling their bitcoin reserves.
Let's hope that the bitcoin price will recover from this mass selling move.
5557  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Important - Why localbitcoins.com removed all card payment type . on: May 18, 2019, 11:18:44 AM
Can someone please tell me why localbitcoins.com , a p2p platform has removed all card payment modes like amazon card , google play and other. i believe platforms like coinbaazar.com ,and paxful.com are still open for people.

Localbitcoins.com have recently updated their privacy policy and all their users are obligated to accept that update. It's not a secret that Amazon,Google Play and iTunes gift cards are used for carding and other illegal activities for years, but why those major corporations don't just stop selling gift cards?
Anyway,it's a good move from localbitcoins.
5558  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does a modern woman marry for love or for securities(money and the likes)? on: May 18, 2019, 06:32:44 AM
Marriage these days have been hitting the rocks, hence the need to investigate the real cause. Anything built on love is known to stand the test of time, but these days, nothing lasts. Please share your opinion, i will like to be educate, so i can make a better decision before i get married. Thanks.

Women are designed to chase men with more more resources, because this can guarantee their future generation. This is pure biology and genetics.
For me,love is overrated. Two people have to be in a relationship because they have similar goals, views, interests not because of love.
Falling in love can be quite delusional sometimes.
5559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum will Boom ! on: May 18, 2019, 06:27:50 AM
According to announcement of chain link, the decentralized oracle provider will launch on the Ethereum mainnet on May 30th.

And other side market cap is also $25.80 billion, which good thing.
So I think price will go up for surely.

Guy's,  what do you think about this ?

Chain link will have some positive impact over the ethereum price, but I don't believe it will be enough for the price to "boom".
The thereum market cap amount by itself isn't a good thing or a bad thing. It is just what it is and nothing more.
I don't get how chain link works. It says "monetize your data feeds and existing API by selling them directly to smart contracts".What does that mean?
5560  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Question for more experience traders! on: May 18, 2019, 06:21:20 AM
For those who trade both crypto and stocks. Which market is more predictive and easier to trade?

I guess you mean predictable, not predictive. Grin
No market is 100% predictable, because if it really was predictable, all the traders will make profit and nobody will lose, which is an impossible situation.
Crypto is way easier to trade and kinda predictable(but not really),because of the price patterns and how all altcoind follow the price of bitcoin.
