Hi guys just send some money with Armory 0.94.1 and got this error. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2F16NywHi.png&t=663&c=hzjwrqsMwaoUdA) The Error is "Invalide Tx" If the money now gone forever?? Ok. This is what happened. The transfered money is where it should be! and already got over 20 confirmes, but I still cant see the Details or even open the transaction at https://blockchain.info as I cant see any details of the transaction. Even deleted the DB twice just to make sure the DB is builded correctly. Now my friend confirmed the money is at his account but the fact of this Errormessage and that I cant see any details of this transaction bugs me quiet a lot ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) Is there any solution for this problem? Thanks in advance! That's a known bug and should be fixed in the next version, 0.95. The money is not lost, as the transaction has confirmed. Just go to Help > Rescan Balance and follow the directions of the dialog. It will rescan the blockchain for your balance and you should see the Bitcoin there.

maybe the message you are trying to check is wrong. here let me give you an example: --snip--
That is not an encrypted message, which is what OP is asking about. That is a signed message, they are different things. Electrum has the option to encrypt/decrypt messages right under the option to sign/verify them. They are two completely different things. OP, can you show a screenshot of what you are entering?

Did someone here manage to compile the update on a Raspberry PI or a banana PI? No problem with the older builds but when I try with 0.13.0 it stops after ~30min
Interesting. Try opening an issue on the github page. Also, have you tried using the new ARM builds?

The 76a914...88ac is the standard form for a pay-to-pubkey-hash output script. When you sign a transaction, the output script goes into the scriptsig, hence that format there. You will notice it down below by the outputs. As for what Electrum is doing, I'm not sure, It doesn't seem like it should work, my best guess is that it's something internal to help it figure things out. I suggest taking a look through the source code ( https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum) to see what is happening.

Oh ok but how will the new Update-System work then?
Don't know yet, it isn't really a priority right now.

Thanks for the reply! Sorry but all this Armory things are pretty new for me. Could you pls tell me which directorys/Files I have to delete? Running Windows 10 x64 Enterprise and had the normal installation (no custom settings/paths).
For you, it should be %appdata%/Armory Delete the folder named "databases" and then start Armory. What is a 'phone home code'?
Phone home code is any code that communicates back to a server controlled by the developers (i.e. it phones home). Oh thats sad. where can I find the latest stable version of Armory? Is it this Link https://btcarmory.com/releases/ ? Or is there any other link for stable versions? That is the link. All releases will be announced there with links to the downloads. Is there any option to change language?
Working on it. It will likely be available in 0.95.1. If you want to help with that, we have a Transifex project open at https://www.transifex.com/bitcoin-armory/public/. You can help translate the project to another language.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I just upgraded to 0.94.1 from 0.93.3 (old Website) and had to rescan and rebuild Databases to make the programm pass the Step with reading the Header.
Yes, the database format has changed so it is both much faster to rebuild and rescan and much smaller than the original. You should delete the old databases to free up a lot of space (several 10s of GBs). If you delete the databases folder inside the data directory, it will remove the old databases and the new ones, but don't worry, the new ones will be rebuilt very quickly. Now it all works ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) but I cant find any update function anymore... is it gone or is something at my programm wrong? No, that is how it is supposed to be. The updater stuff was removed since the announcements server is no longer working, the development has changed leadership, no announcements server is set up that we can use, and we don't want any phone home code. It may be reintroduced later if we decide to.

I want to ask the tech guys here a few questions
I use for my all desktop wallets a password which is 13 character long and it consists of 2 words which only make senses to me and 2 number plus one special character, letters are small and capital ones.
If those two words are words in a dictionary, then it is significantly easier to crack since dictionary attacks are very easy to do. However if they are not or are in a different language than english, then the difficulty for cracking goes way up. Even with word mangling and some extra numbers or special characters, the password could still be vulnerable to a dictionary attack. How long would take from state sponsorship attack to bruteforce it ?
That's hard to say, especially without knowing what the password is. What about if I put this password to a RAR file which I keep all my documents and seeds encrypted , how much time if state sponsored attack have my file ?
In that case, it also depends on the encryption algorithm. Also, since you are reusing the password, if it is compromised in one place, then the time to crack it somewhere else is 0.

You don't get it. If the hacker was able to change the email address instantly like what happened to us here then we "instantly" don't have and can't access our accounts anymore.
If he can't change our email address instantly, then the account won't do him any good.
In some cases like what you're stating before, what if both account and email was hacked? Then that's where the 24 hour process comes in.
Let's say you can't access your account so you use your email to retrieve it, (you can still retrieve your account using your old email because it takes 24 hours to update your profile) but what if the email was hacked as well, then you have 24 hours to retrieve your email before everything goes into shit.
It's very easy to retrieve email accounts as long as it's really yours.
If both your email and your Bitcointalk are hacked, then the 24 hours doesn't help you at all. You won't be able to access your email either so you can't fix anything.

24 hour process until the user's account is updated with the newly registered email address.
That is not a good idea. What website takes 24 hours to update an email address? There are very few cases where this would be useful at all. It provides no security to do that, and may be even more insecure. The security is in requiring users to confirm that they are changing their emails, not having to wait for the change to happen. I think people aren't dumb enough to use one password for all his accounts.
You'd be surprised, but you really shouldn't be. A lot of people use the same password or some variation of the same password. Once you know one of them, you can get the rest. Common word mangling makes that very easy. Just google it, there are tons of studies of how people reuse passwords, use simple passwords, and are very vulnerable to dictionary attacks.

A lot of users have been hacked this past few days, weeks or months. I'm not sure. I'm one of those who have been recently hacked. And thanks to Cyrus and Theymos i managed to get my account back. The things is i don't want this kind of thing to keep on happening! I don't want this to happen to other users and i think my idea would be a great leap to our forum's security.
So here's how it's going to work. Most of us that we're hacked weren't able to regain access on our account because our email was changed. What if every time a user wants to change his email he needs to authenticate that request using the current email address registered to his account. And after authenticating the request there will be a 24 hour process. The user can still cancel it within 24 hours if he change his mind.
24 hour process for what? You have to wait 24 hours to change the email? That's just plain stupid. What if the hacker got into your email as well? The only good idea here is to validate that the email or password was changed. Unfortunately that isn't going to happen since a lot of users here just registered with a fake email address. I also think that it would be great if we add the service like Cloudflare to completely secure our forum. Of course all of us should be a part of this. We should all contribute on this. We should build a donation address for this plan.
No. This has been discussed before. Cloudflare does not provide any additional security whatsoever, in fact, they actually reduce your security. Cloudflare acts as a man in the middle, they can see all of your communication in plaintext, not encrypted as it should be. This opens up a whole other attack vector and a bunch more problems. Let this post serve as a petition to make our forum more secure and greater than before!
The forum is already very secure; it's part of the reason that the SMF version hasn't been updated, many many changes have been made to significantly increase the security. The problem is when people fall for phishing scams, use weak passwords, or set a security question. There is only so much the forum can do to protect you from yourself.

the Bitcoin application folder will be newly downloaded, no other wallet. What about mone received tot he wallet after last backup date? These will be lost or no?
If you are requesting a new address (as you should) for every receive, then it is possible that you will lose money. If you use Bitcoin Core 0.13.0+, then you will be fine regardless as long as you don't change (or add) a password. If you use older versions of Bitcoin Core, then after you have used 100 addresses (can be either from requesting new ones or change addresses), your old backup will be useless.

That's dynamically generated by javascript in the browser so chrome is not going to cache that. I think you are out of luck on this one. I suggest writing it off as a loss.
Damn ! i was hoping that Chrome Cache the Pictures from the QR Codes or the Text File or any other Windows Process maybe use the picture and temp or cache it anywhere, or the JS File with the "Data" they was shown to me ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) It's unlikely that is cached. I was unable to find anything in the chrome cache that had anything that bitaddress generated. Try looking through the file history again. If it did backup wallet B before you overwrote it, you should be able to still access it. Otherwise, the file is lost and unfortunately you won't be able to access your Bitcoin again.

Everything tasted of the tips above - did not help Who dig deeper wallet.dat file? send someone? We are pleased to share 50/50 with the successful return of BTC
DO NOT SEND your wallet.dat file unless you absolutely trust that person. Your wallet is not encrypted, so whoever you send it to could steal your Bitcoin. Can you please repost your debug.log? The link seems to be down. What exactly have you tried in order to recover your Bitcoin. Don't just say "everything in this thread", please list them out (some of the things said in this thread are stupid and others you do not seem to have actually done).

Ill try it again :
Yesterday i visit bitaddress.org and generate a Paperwallet. I overwrite my old Desktop Note with the Address and the Key off the new Address. Yesterday i send 3 times from that Wallet and today also 2 times Coins out.
One Hour later i needed the old Wallet Address i have replace and was searching for a way to get it back... I found the Windows Filre Replace with old version off it, so i replace the Desktop Note and get the old one from yesterday day back.
In this case the File was replaced to the old one, and the new data disappere and i dont save it -.-
So you have wallet A originally. Then you overwrite that with wallet B. From wallet B you have sent and received coins. Then you overwrite wallet B with wallet A. You now need to get wallet B. Yes? If that is the case, you have sent and received from wallet B. In order to have done that you needed to have imported it into a wallet software. What did you use to send the Bitcoin? Now im looking for a way to maybe recover the old/new file but its the same name like the new one: C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Sticky Notes\StickyNotes.snt
When you create a Paperwallet on bitaddress.org you get the Text (Address,Key) and 2 QR Picture for every Wallet you generate... Maybe there is a way to find the pciture it in the Cache/Temp from Chrome ?
I don't think so. I'm pretty sure bitaddress does stuff to prevent things from being cached.

|
It was only a TXT File where i save the data and send the txid's in raw out.
Maybe anyway to see the QR-Codes again ? or find the File in Google Chrome Cache/Temp ?
Then what does I use it yesterday 3 times and send some coins out mean? Did you send from the address in question?
|
|
|
In order to have sent from that paper wallet, you need to have imported the private key into a wallet software. Do you still have that software? The private key should still be in that wallet.

The other day somebody in the Armory subsection helped me update
I can't find the instructions to do that anymore, what do I do when I go on the page? There's no download button
Click on one of the links to download the file of the same name. Choose the one for your OS. The zip and tar files are either just the binaries or the source. If you want the installer, download one of the other files (dmg or exe).
