5561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Abu Dhabi T10 League 2019 on: November 25, 2019, 04:28:58 PM
But Maratha Arabians won the series, because of Deccan Gladiators has not got a good start with their opener's and middle-order batting line-up collapsed so they have given the target of 88 runs to Maratha Arabians, it was too easy to chase for Maratha Arabians and they did.

Pathetic batting display by the Deccan Gladiators. I expected a lot from them, given the recent form of Mohammad Shahzad, Shane Watson and Kieron Pollard. But McClenaghan and Malinga put them in pressure from the start. They could manage only 87 runs and it is never going to be enough in T10 format. In the end, the final turned out to be very lop-sided.

Deccan Gladiators made a mess out of it and it turned out to be the most boring and disappointed final. I was not favoring any team but i did wanted to see a close final and it was one of the most boring match of the tournament. Having the low score to chase Maratha Arabians started fearlessly and easily managed to chase the target in just 7 overs.

The match was essentially lost during the first 3-4 overs, when the Deccan Gladiators run rate dipped to unsustainable levels. After 4 overs, the DG total was 27/3 and by then their three most important batsmen were back in pavilion (Pollard, Shahzad and Watson). Bhanuka Rajapaksa hit a few big boundaries.. but he didn't got as much strike as he wanted.
5562  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you use cryptocurrencies in your daily life? Are they useful? on: November 25, 2019, 03:54:16 PM
No, I do not use cryptocurrencies in real life, because in my country it is impossible, there are no appropriate services and infrastructure. I hope in the future the situation will change and people in my country will use all the advantages of cryptocurrencies.
It is normal for most of the countries in this world to not have enough places that accept cryptocurrency as a mode of payment. They are still skeptical with the cryptocurrencies because they believed that it is more on the side of liability rather than an asset because of the volatility of the market. In the future, as the cryptocurrency will be known worldwide, I believed that it will be accepted as payment option like how people accepted and uses credit cards.

Even in the developed nations, stores that accept Bitcoin are few and far between. And unfortunately, there have been hardly any growth during the last two years. Some of the stores and merchants that used to accept Bitcoin have removed the option recently (examples are Stripe and Steem). And in the developed world, in many of the countries making payments with BTC is not even legal.
5563  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Are Women Slowly Leaning On To Crypto Trade? on: November 25, 2019, 03:46:34 PM
Talking about gender, race, religion.etc is illogical while dealing with a decentralized asset such as Bitcoin. With BTC, you are on your own and no one can make things easier or difficult for you. So discrimination or bias does not comes in to picture. Women face no additional barrier in being cryptocurrency traders and therefore I don't think that threads such as this one makes sense.
5564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: November 25, 2019, 03:39:08 PM
Australian team is a team in true sense while Pakistan team is always like this, only one or two players perform and others just come to show their existence. With Australia, every single member fights but cannot say this for the opponent. Still, the team is a very unpredictable one. Calling for the whitewash would be a little bit exaggeration. With these results, Pakistan will definitely prepare well for the remaining match.

Look at the victory margin. If this match can't be considered as a white-wash, then we need to find a new definition for that term. IMO, there was no positive points for Pakistan from the match. All of their players failed miserably and none could score runs against the main bowlers. Only when Marnus Labuschagne was bowling, some of the Pak batsmen looked comfortable with batting.
5565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sell your altcoins and tokens TODAY, save yourself the frustration on: November 25, 2019, 03:04:31 PM
Well... it is up to the individual to decide whether they want to sell their altcoins, or hold on to them. In my case, I had sold most of my alts in 2018. Back then, I was a bit reluctant as the prices were really low. However the decision to sell the coins was the right one, as their prices went down even further during 2018-19. But this is my experience and the outcome may be different for others.
5566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is this still possible today? on: November 25, 2019, 02:56:43 PM
I just find out that some coins might start with very low volume and marketcap and end up growing big? true or false? i tracked back some old coins that start with trading volume around 6k and end up in millions, is this still possible today?

It was possible earlier. I can give you the example of Ethereum. It's ICO price was $0.31 per coin and now it is trading at $147 per coin (the ATH was $1,400 which was reached almost two years ago). However, if you ask me whether such ICOs are possible now, then my reply will be a big NO. Because most of the ICOs are overpriced nowadays and they go for listing before the final product is ready.
5567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Useless altcoins must remove from the whole crypto market on: November 25, 2019, 02:50:17 PM
I agree with you. I was once a victim also of transferring altcoins with the same code and thinking that it was the coin that I have and sent it to the exchange only to realize it was a different coin. What a waste by losing the coin that way. This confusion is indeed bad for crypto.

In this case, this is entirely your fault and you can't really blame the shitcoins. The "Contract" hash will be unique for each of the tokens, even if the names are similar. In your case, you sent the tokens using the wrong contract code and that's why you lost them. How you are going to blame the project for that? Anyway, I hope you learnt your lesson. Please be careful in the future.
5568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICOs really DEAD or simply cleared a path for better projects? on: November 25, 2019, 02:37:38 PM
The problem is that most of the projects that go for ICO now are copycats. Most of the good ideas already have several existing projects, although many of them are either dormant or dead. We had somewhere between 5,000 and 10,000 different ICOs during 2017-19 period and for the same idea there may be dozens of existing projects. And this is also one of the reason why the user interest for ICOs is at all time low.
5569  Economy / Economics / Re: You want to get rich, don’t pay taxes, don’t get married, don’t use bank, and... on: November 25, 2019, 02:31:04 PM
Here is my response to your advice:

Don’t pay taxes: Not practical. If we don't pay the taxes, then we'll get jailed. So I would rather use loopholes to reduce my tax bill, but would pay them on time.

Don’t get married: Here in India, unmarried couples are frowned upon. So I didn't had any other choice. However, for now I am facing no issues in my family life.

Don’t use bank: Well... I don't use banks to store my wealth. I receive my salary in my bank account and I use that money to invest elsewhere. I never keep large amounts in banks.

Don’t invest: Right now, most of my portfolio is composed of Bitcoin. So I guess it is OK.
5570  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you use FB's Libra? on: November 25, 2019, 02:25:06 PM
Like the games that we play on Facebook will start accepting payments in Libra and all the other money dealings will be actually carried out with the help of Facebook’s very own digital currency. The bill will be passed. The coin is highly centralized and utilizing it does not make sense at all. Anyone who loves his freedom and privacy, will invest in bitcoin or ethereum. But this kind is again a rare one.

Even if they accept Libra, they will be accepting the other payment modes as well (such as PayPal, Visa, Master.etc). So my question is how they will make the users prefer Libra over the other options? Libra is a new payment method and at least initially the vast majority of the users may not be comfortable in using it. So unless they give some good promotional offers, no one is going to use Libra.
5571  Economy / Economics / Re: Who is the richest person? on: November 25, 2019, 02:18:26 PM
I know Jeff Bezos is considered the richest known person but there is a lot of hidden wealth in the world.

I've heard the following people may actually be trillionaires:

Putin
Oil Saudis
Rothschild family

Putin's wealth is grossly inflated and his real wealth is rumored to be a few million USD. However, the Saudi Royal Family effectively controls 90% of the wealth in that country, and that amounts to at least $2 trillion. I am not sure about Rothschild, but he controls a large number of banks with hidden wealth and he may be even richer than the Saudis.

5573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: November 25, 2019, 02:03:21 PM
I don't think they are capable of winning match in New Zealand seaming and bouncy conditions, they really don't have test level batting capacities. Their batsmen habitual of play so many shots and in test cricket is not about playing so many shots but playing safe shots.
May be but I am still triggered to go with England again in the 2nd Test too. Let's see how they perform. 2019 is a lucky year for England and I am sure before the Christmas they wil have another lucky winning and this could be the next Test.

It will be very risky to bet for England, given the thrashing they received during the first test match. New Zealand has traditionally performed better than expected at home, even against top teams such as India and Australia. One thing that could go against them is the injury to Trent Boult. But in case Lockie Ferguson comes in for Boult, then it is going to be really tough for England.
5574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is happening to new projects? on: November 24, 2019, 07:08:23 AM
Investors are now smarter about where to invest their money, if a new project is not too clear there will be problem in their fundraising, developers must go for extra approach when trying to make their project attractive to investors

You can expect the investors to be more careful and to take additional security steps to protect themselves from the scams. In many cases, the ICOs that go for listing don't have anything concrete to show to the potential investors. All they have is an idea and in many cases not even the preliminary phase of investment is complete. And in such cases the investors will be reluctant to pour their hard earned money in to them.
5575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Useless altcoins must remove from the whole crypto market on: November 24, 2019, 06:59:03 AM
If a particular altcoin is not good enough, then in due course of time it will be having declining trade volumes and in the end it will get delisted from most of the exchanges. That is the natural course. On the other hand, if we ask the exchanges to delist such coins, then it will go against the decentralized nature of the cryptocurrency market. Let the market decide the future of such tokens/coins.
5576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good trading volume doesn't mean a token is good on: November 24, 2019, 06:50:30 AM
Behold good trading volume doesn't mean a coin or token is good, i read in a thread where few people are saying if a coin has no volume means its a bad coin, well here we go, bad coins can have huuuge volume, you must have heard of bomb token? bomb token has good trading volume but guess what? it has no real use case, the volume comes from HYPE because its a deflationary tokens, people believed that the more a max supply of a token get decreased or burned off over time means they are GOLD tokens, it does bring profits to early adopters like they say but NO REAL USE CASES.

With bots controlling many of the smaller exchanges (and the DEX sites), nowadays it is not that hard to inflate the trade volumes. And on top of that, a higher volume can also mean that the promoters are dumping their tokens (especially if the exchange rate is lower than the listing price). Trade volume can be used as one of the parameters in deciding whether a token is good for investment or not. But it can't be the sole consideration.
5577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this really a good plan? on: November 24, 2019, 06:44:05 AM
Few of my colleagues told me they quit bounty because many new projects are finding it very difficult to reach soft cap and those who manages to reach softcap ends up listing on ridiculous exchanges because of listing fee, a part of me feels like they are right because if a new project fails to aim for top exchange its game over,  the question now is why promoting new projects then?

Well.. bounty rewards have fallen to all time lows and there is no logic in participating them anymore. I am someone who used to participate in a large number of bounties, right from 2017. Back then, the rewards were really good and on average it ranged from $100 to $1,000 for a signature campaign and $10 to $100 for social media campaigns. The current rates are less than 1/10th of this amount, and many of the bounty hunters consider themselves lucky if they get paid at all.
5578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sold my house for buying altcoins need your help on: November 24, 2019, 06:38:57 AM
There are better coins out there that spending 20k on ADA alone, it would have been good if you invest in bitcoin, bnb token which you already have, eth, hot, tron, pundix because they still have good roadmap ahead of them and they are very active, the only good ones on your list is BNB token, XRP and EOS

I can understand the nostalgia surrounding ADA. Back in 2017, it gave some of the best returns in the history for any cryptocurrency, when it went up by more than 100x. Technologically, it was regarded as one of the strongest cryptocurrencies currently available. But in the end a number of factors pulled it down, and what hurt the coin the most was the slow pace of development. The lack of availability of an online or lite wallet hurt the adoption a lot during the initial years. And the userbase had vanished by the time they came up with such wallets.
5579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need suggest invest in small amount on: November 24, 2019, 06:18:03 AM
Why don't you hold them, bitcoin and ethereum are good to hold for long term. Now I don't know if it still profitable in IEOs maybe in the big exchanges are still profitable in IEOs, you can try to invest if you want.

The hype surrounding the IEOs have vanished. The recent IEOs that got listed in exchanges such as Binance and Huobi gave mixed results for the users. The conclusion is that you can no longer blindly invest in any of these projects. There are still a number of good IEOs getting listed, but the guarantee is not there. You need to study the projects carefully before investing in them.
5580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: China vowed to "slash" crypto exchanges, bitcoin prices plummeted. on: November 24, 2019, 06:12:09 AM
News except China is a big influence on our cryptocurrency market. Many major cryptocurrency exchanges are based in this country. Do you think the market is too dependent on China?

Bitcoin is a decentralized asset and as such it is not too dependent on any single market. But the political developments in major markets such as China, United States, Japan.etc can have a large impact on the exchange rates. Also, there is another factor that chips in. The other markets may be having more long-term holders, but a large part of the day traders come from China.
