He had a heart attack (not a COVID-19 symptom) on the way to the hospital.

This says otherwise..

However, I am not a doctor, so would mostly try to stay away from this discussion.

You don't have to be a writer to discuss any movie script, just saying.

Just now I checked the schedule for the 2019–21 ICC World Test Championship, and was surprised to see that no matches were scheduled for April-May 2020. The IPL was supposed to happen during that time, and therefore the cricket boards decided not to play any bilateral matches during this period. But their calculations may get disrupted, in case IPL gets shifted to Q3 or Q4 2020.

Just to keep everyone update on this...

BCCI makes deal with the ICC and other boards, Its same business as usual as far as i know. In this deal BCCI gets open window for IPL, ICC gets big chunk of money and prominent boards gets money +commission + bilateral series on regular basis and on special cases in very suitable holidays. Ever wonder why Australia never visit any country on boxing day?
5583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 27, 2020, 11:48:07 PM
^ Morrison & co seems slow in this regard, recently one specific Australian cricketer (not good benchmark though)  made a remark on his last speech, where he was rambling about Shopping center-Shirt- lockdown etc in his long 20 mins speech. And authorities not even closing Airspace for overseas arrivals, guess they think they can manage foreign travelers situation easily by forced isolation.

The change is very dramatic. It was very quick and in around 20 days we are experiencing the opposite news now the media people are busy spreading fears among people especially those politicians in some of the countries. I hope everyone is listening qualified doctors and not listening the social media experts.

Surprisingly majority of Indian media house and politicians are acting very responsible in comparison of many countries (it gives some hopes) and they are avoiding unnecessary fear-mongering with one motto. "Take precautions but no panic"

^^^^ If they goes ahead with a mini-IPL , then it is going to be a historic blunder. First of all, many of the international players won't be available. And adding to that, the revenue will be much less than what they are expecting, since the duration will be curtailed. And additionally, any mini-IPL this year can have a negative impact on the revenues for next year (for IPL 2021). It's not rocket science. All Sourav Ganguly has to do, is to call a press conference and inform that the IPL for this year is cancelled. They need to reimburse the sponsors, franchises and the players. But given how vast their reserves are, I don't think that it is going to be a problem for the BCCI.

Yes, bad choice in terms of quality if they go with mini IPL. Some fans might be okay with it which i can understand.

About Financial loss and reimbursment ; I think BCCI already has some kind of insurance for this. Not sure or don't know any details but its very much possible.

This calendar looks very tight and the situation we are in now is going to change it massively to cope with the re-scheduling. Let's hope that we go back to normal lifestyle very soon.
Indeed, Jam packed.

T-20 World cup will be in 2021 as now its going to disturb PSL next year or may be played in February today check few talks about CPL as West Indies Cricket Board is still in limbo about this event but will announce all in next few days things are not good for this years IPL hopefully we will able to be normal in next few months.

Not sure about CPL as i don't know much about it but for PSL its early to say "PSL schedule clashing with T-20 WC".
5589  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: IPL Mutual Pool Discussion. on: March 26, 2020, 04:19:12 PM
or will they move it to 3rd or 4th quarter this year ?

Schedule of all T-20 Domestic leagues.

You can see other countries already has their own T-20 leagues to run and in between everybody has International / Bilateral cricket commitment as well. So i would be very surprise if IPL moves into Q3 or Q4. Its safe to say No_IPL this year.

Edit : And don't forget we have T-20 world too this year (Oct). Even WC could get cancel if situation gets out of the hand.

1) FOR HEALTH WORKERS

To protect the interest of health workers, the government announced a Rs 50 lakh insurance per health worker. Nirmala Sitharaman said safai karamcharis, ward-boys, nurses, paramedics, technicians, doctors and specialists and other health will be covered by this special insurance scheme.

"Any health professional who while treating Covid-19 patients meets with some accident, then he/she would be compensated with an amount of Rs 50 lakh under the scheme," the announcement said.

Besides this, all government health centres, wellness centres and hospitals of the Centre as well as state governments will be covered under this scheme. Under this scheme, approximately 22 lakh health workers would be provided insurance cover to fight the coronavirus pandemic.

2) FOR POOR

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that daily wages under the MNREGA have been increased to Rs 202 a day from Rs 182. This will benefit nearly 5 crore families, Sitharaman said.

As per today's announcement, 80 crore poor people will get 5 kg wheat or rice and 1 kg of preferred pulses for free every month for the next three months. This will be provided under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana. This is over and above the free ration that they already get under other schemes at present.

Besides this, under the PM Garib Kalyan Yojana, gas cylinders will be provided free of cost to 8 crore poor families for the next three months. During this period, a maximum of three gas cylinders will be provided.

5) FOR LOW WAGE EARNERS

Low wage earners in the unorganized sector are among the worst hit due to the lockdown and the resultant economic crisis. To help people who fall under this category, the government has decided to pay 24 per cent of their monthly wages into their Provident Fund accounts for the next three months.

"Wage earners below Rs15, 000 per month in businesses having less than 100 workers are at risk of losing their employment," the government said adding that the assistance would help prevent "disruption in their employment".

6) For senior citizens, widows and differently able

The government said there are around 3 crore senior citizens, widows and differently abled people who are vulnerable due to economic disruption caused by Covid-19. "Government will give them Rs 1,000 to tide over difficulties during next three months. Rs 3,000 crores has been provided for this purpose in the PM Garib Kalyan Package," the finance minister said.

7) FOR ORGANISED SECTOR

Nirmala Sitharaman said Employees' Provident Fund Regulations will be amended to include 'pandemic' as the reason to allow non-recoverable advance of 75 per cent of the amount or three months of the wages, whichever is lower, from their accounts.Cool For self-help groups

Women organised through 63 lakhs self-help groupssupport 6.85 crore households. "Limit of collateral free lending would be increased from Rs 10 to Rs 20 lakhs. This will help them by additional credit availability," Sitharaman said.

This means that freelancers are getting more income in these days when rest of the people are waiting for their business and offices to resume.
For the rest of us, would we be becoming bored by lockdown in home without any cricket to watch on TV ? I sometimes watch the old matches highlights of previous PSL and IPL but that's not that much entertaining.

I can't speak for other professionals but in gaming industry yeah fair amount of artists in my circle doing exceptionally well in this lock down.

Few suggestions from Haunebu and me....

I suggest binge watching TV shows on Netflix and Prime instead like me in recent times. These are the shows that I have binged recently:

- The Witcher TV show
- Elite
- Sex Education(Twice)
- You
- Umbrella Academy(Currently watching it) etc

Netflix and Prime are enough even during an apocalypse in my opinion.

Few suggestions from my side, related to Test Cricket ofcourse....

-Fire in Babylon ( Windies Cricket 1970s) Amazon Prime / Netflix
-The Test: A New Era For Australia's Team - Prime
-The Edge (England Team 2009-2013) - Prime
-Death of a Gentleman - Prime (edited) uk

Few Test match and ODI are worth it, list is long but mentioning only 3.

- 2005 Ashes (Best Ashes series)
- 2001 Aus vs India (One of the finest comeback story in World Test Cricket history)
- 3rd match of Ashes 2019 ( Best match in Ashes's history -Ben Stokes-)

Yesterday i watched 1 hour highlights of Aus vs Ind 2001 (KolKata Test)

Not planning to buyback unless it goes back to $4k which is pretty much impossible.

If you are even 50% sure about this scenario then plz buy some and forget about it, if not then Best of luck for your future endeavors.
