GA doesn't feature any backup though so the moment you lose your phone, you're screwed.
Yup if you are lazy and careless you are screwed. Just as you are setting up your 2FA, They provide recovery codes but people always ignore the code. They come in handy when you need to recovery your account if you have lost your phone.
5582  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What exactly is Bitcoin Core? on: February 24, 2019, 02:44:45 AM
To add on o_e_l_e_o's point, Bitcoin core also acts as a bitcoin wallet that fully verifies transactions. It therefore has better privacy and security attributes never seen in ordinary lite wallets.

Originally it was also called Bitcoin just like the network but the name would later be changed to Bitcoin Core. It is also known as the Satoshi client, perhaps in tribute to the original publisher of the software Satoshi Nakamoto.
5583  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 420 ETH transaction FEE on: February 20, 2019, 11:21:55 AM
You can move it to trade discussion board as no one has come out yet and claim its scam.
By the way it could have been either some glitch or someone purposely just carried out weird transactions... Because those transactions seem to be made between specific wallets.
5584  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Yanubuks - FAKE TEAM | stock photo on: February 18, 2019, 11:17:40 PM
Great job @tvplus006 upon netting these scammers.
We really appreciate you effort here, Hopefully i also get to catch one real soon with my beginner skills  Grin
5585  Other / Bitcoin Wiki / Suggestion regarding Bitcoin Wiki on: February 18, 2019, 11:11:47 PM
Wouldn't it be okay if we had an organized a sticky on the bitcoin wiki board with a few guidelines and details about what one should do in case they want to contribute something?
 Like,
- What is required. Is it free to edit a wiki page or payment is required?
- Type of content needed?
- Privileges etc

I have seen some many people post in there, and they all seem as clueless as me, as am a first timer there.
5586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's angel in disguise on: February 18, 2019, 10:51:22 PM
Come to think of this saying " What doesn't kill me makes me stronger"
Bitcoin had been announced dead so many times for the last 10 years but it's only show more and more strength at staying afloat. Negative talkers some times are a necessary evil. They do the advertising indirectly  Grin
5587  Economy / Speculation / Re: A chance for Bitcoin to rise! on: February 18, 2019, 10:38:06 PM
Yes, thanks for reminding me this one. I’m more confident now about my knowledge and I know how to be more patience this time.
Don't worry mate, everything has a beginning and an end and just like this bear market. It will also end at one time and as you emphasized all that matters is patience.
5588  Other / Meta / Re: This is not fair, moderator deleted my post. on: February 18, 2019, 10:28:25 PM
It's just a post having 2 sentences. Move on. It happens here time and time again that one's posts will at one time get deleted. So there is no need of creating a thread and whine over it.
5589  Economy / Speculation / Re: A chance for Bitcoin to rise! on: February 18, 2019, 10:10:14 PM
Don't be just so excited yet, it could drop back any time soon probably by Thursday since it's just a minor price rise. There  seems to be a major resistance at 4K. You should start getting excited when it goes 5K and above.
5590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Question About Golden Visa - Invest with BTC on: February 18, 2019, 10:06:37 PM
I don't think it's that easy to get a golden visa to a country especial European countries just because one just made a transaction in BTC or other cryptos. Cryptos haven't yet been widely accepted. Unless if the country is really in a bad state, they wouldn't care about issuing visas. Maybe in future when probably countries or governments own their own cryptocurrencies.
5591  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk is Dying? on: February 18, 2019, 09:58:51 PM
Some of the argument might be true but where do they go when they leave, Do they have close alternatives?. Other options may not serve the same purpose as bitcointalk but project team lately dont think they can have that size of investors like in the past. I can deduct this by the renewed approach and reward for social campaign for their projects than for bitcointalk. People are not spending time reading the forum post like before and searching for news, bounty hunter had taken over the forum just posting or rather spamming.  merit is still considered as important but other benefits should be attached to the forum and more or higher financial implication should be attached to getting forum membership to control spammers.
It doesn't necessarily mean they have somewhere else to go. Most of those get-rich-quick scheme people could have probably decided to log out of the forum and move on with life having realized that it's not possible as they thought back then when the bull run was crazy.
5592  Other / Meta / Re: Got my bitcointalk account Hacked on: February 18, 2019, 09:35:16 PM
Since this is one of the biggest forum for crypto community the security should be much better Sad I have been a member since 2014 and really sad I lost my account.
You haven't lost you account, just follow the newly provided procedure and you will get it back if you have enough proof. I have seen so many people regain back control of their accounts lately after many months. Also, are you in control of the account's original email?
5593  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk is Dying? on: February 18, 2019, 09:29:07 PM
Based on forum stats:

Average online per day: 178.41
Not true at all. The reality actually is after the introduction of the merit system, most spammers and account farmers left.
This has been coupled with much stricter forum rules lately like negative trusting misbehaving users and also the bear market.

There was an influx of all sorts of people in the forum towards the end of 2017 due to the bull run where the were seeking airdrops, bounties and ICO of which many have since starved off now due to the lengthy bear run.
5594  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have achieved 500+ earned merit. (Motivational) on: February 18, 2019, 09:21:47 PM
Congratulations upon achieving your new milestone... This very encouraging and shows how rewarding it is to help the community and also keep it clean by fighting against spammers and scammers. I for sure do not know if i will ever be able to attain Legendary status, let alone Hero status but i will keep trying.
5595  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Full Node vs Light Node on: February 18, 2019, 05:29:28 PM
Full node client vs Light node clients would be a much better title since your focus is on wallets.
Also since it's a "vs" thing, summary of info link the pros and cons of each type of client alongside examples of full node and light node clients would really be useful.
Thanks for your effort thou
5596  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is this the beginning of the arrival of a bull run? on: February 18, 2019, 05:22:01 PM
we need to just pretends it to be,to bring the real bull run on. Cheesy

It is good to see that market is green with all the cryptos and most importantly ethereum is bumoing which may bring the ICOs again to the drama.
By the way, have you noticed that Ethereum, Bitcoincash and EOS have the biggest gains so far in the top 10?
Do you know why it's so?

I have been observing this for weeks in this bearish market. Lately when there is a bear trend, EOS, BCH and ETH seem to drop the hardest... When there is a short bullish trend, the three again seem to have the highest gains.

Here is my theory: Hardest drop in bear trend = the Highest gains in bullish trend and vice versa.
So just be ready in-case the prices drop, the 3 in the top 10 will drop hard again and ethereum could temporarily lose it's second spot on coinmarketcap to XRP as we have already seen it multiple times.

Ethereum high gain could also be related to the upcoming fork.
5597  Economy / Digital goods / Re: bitcoinvideocasino.com CLONE SCRIPT on: February 18, 2019, 04:56:50 PM
And does anyone say who has a Bitcoin Blender ad in the profile of her profile which is pretty big scam?
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/8mmxb9/warning_scammed_by_bitcoin_blenders/
Am pretty sure you didn't read the whole thread. All you ever wanted to do was to save your ass here. Starter of the reddit thread got himself phished by a fake website and then goes ahead to blame the genuine site for getting phished and claiming that all the websites are the same and are scam... all this with no evidence at all connecting the site. He also admitted to getting phished later on.

It's like me getting phished and scammed by a binance clone site, then I take it on to the genuine binance support team and accuse them of scam. How stupid.
5598  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Be Aware of those Dodgy Exchanges Support telegram account. on: February 18, 2019, 04:34:45 PM
Aside from scams, it has these security and privacy encryption technique - secret chat functions, large data storage, fast messaging services, and so far no advertisement.
Telegram used to be so good back in the day before it airdrop craze and Pump and Dump groups came in. One very interesting feature was anonymity
which has seen been revoked after the telegram team succumbed to pressure from governments.

I still haven't got round to looking at telegram - is there any advantage in using it? All I ever see are scam reports.
Support of most projects/exchanges is much easier and quicker to access through telegram compared to the email or ticket system, I guess that why most people get in there in the first place.
Also, so many projects/exchanges do not have forums so most members of a common community create groups to connect... Scammers then just come along.
5599  Other / Meta / Re: List Of Most Deleted Posts/Threads For The Most Active Profiles on: February 18, 2019, 04:19:05 PM
One thing I would love to understand is, if a thread you replied in is deleted, does your reply as count as deleted?
5600  Other / Meta / Re: my merits disappeared on: February 18, 2019, 04:13:22 PM
A few weeks ago I have received two merits from somebody. Now both merits have gone. What happened? Is it a glitch in the forum or my merits disappeared?
Maybe if you have just decided to contribute something more useful to the community rather than spam a given thread with you alts, you would be having much more merit to notice that 2 merits where missing.
