5581  Other / Meta / Two questions related to Forum's history on: December 27, 2019, 02:30:53 PM
Today I was trying to find out the answers to some questions related to Meta. I found most of the answers, but there were two remaining questions that I still didn't get the answers. Does anyone know the answers to these questions below? Really want to know about them, those are certainly part of the history of this forum.

1. Who are the first 10 members registered in bitcointalk forum? Are some/all of them still active until now?
2. What post (thread/reply) got Merit for the first time? Please enclose the link as proof.

*Those questions might be considered unnecessary for some people but for me, it is quite important to know. Thanks in advance for your help.  Smiley

5583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / IEO's popularity is starting to slump on: December 27, 2019, 09:26:38 AM
IEO became popular at the beginning of 2019. Since investors lost their trust in ICO, they looked for alternative options to invest their money. IEO showed a promising future and provided a more secure way for them by listing on some popular exchanges from the beginning of the token sale phase. During that time, exchanges raised a good amount of money, especially in April. Unfortunately, the popularity of IEO was decreasing currently. Personally, I don't really know what happened in IEO and investors. I guess maybe some IEO projects also are starting to fail and get the same problems as ICO. Yeah, their tokens/coins are dumped pretty badly after the IEO phase. And it caused many investors to get big losses.

Look at the decrease of funds raised in IEO below.

                  Source: https://cryptodiffer.com/news/funds-raised-on-ieo-in-2019-since-november/

According to the chart, in October and November, IEO seems to start decreasing in its monthly raised funds. It means the slump of popularity.

*What do you think, guys?
5584  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Motivation BITCOIN4X] From Newbie To Senior Member & Now OTW to Hero Member on: December 27, 2019, 06:29:21 AM
-snip-I optimist next month later I will try maximum reach with Senior Member-snip-
First of all, I want to remind that it is better to set a reasonable target. I mean every member has different capabilities to reach their next rank. I don't want to underestimate you but I think don't expect too much for a new higher rank only in a month. You are better to focus on how you improve your knowledge and more active all year long.

I have some notes for you, buddy:

1. I see you ever didn't log-in to forum a few months. In the next year, you are better more active. It will make you have a higher chance to rank up.

2. Get more often merits before dreaming higher targets (become Sr only a month). You still rarely get merits.

*However, don't worry. Everyone has the same chance to improve their ranks. Good luck!!

5585  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Most people Enjoy Spamming on BitcoinTalk on: December 27, 2019, 12:37:38 AM
LOL, so, you want to say that people without paid signature can't be spammers? Interesting logic, but unfortunately you're wrong. In reality, big part of spam comes from Newbies who can't even wear signature.
Absolutely wrong. Even some signature campaigns (paid in BTC) have strict regulations to ensure the participants don't spam forum. And OP must know that the selected members mustn't spammers or low-quality posters since they will never be accepted.

Yes, in fact, most spammers come from Newbie ranks. They promote random projects or just reply with short comments. I guess they may feel have no responsibility or pressure from anyone.

Potential spammers:
-Newbie with low activity
-Members having many red-trusts
-Members who are frustrated with the merit system
-Members who are not aware that he/she are a daily spammer  Grin

UPDATE: Lot of spammer attacked to my thread bcz they dont like this thread and subject, this thread is aginst spammer. So I expect more attack from spammer in this thread.
Lol. Why do you act like a child? Are you still under 18 ages? Boy, please don't blind and assume everyone as bad men once giving suggestion/feedback to you. You don't know that they are good men supporting this forum existence.  Wink

*Boy, you did a wrong way to treat them. Now, everyone will ENJOY to attack you.  Cheesy
*Make it more specific!!
5586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Outside bitcointalk project exposition, on: December 26, 2019, 11:40:50 PM
There some options you can try to attract investors. Even if there is no guarantee to get a large number of investors, but I think these will be worth to try.

1. Try to make a local community. Commonly some projects created a local telegram group community. I saw it works quite good on some projects. Choose potential countries like Russia, Korea, China, Japan, Indonesia, etc.

2. Try to list your coins/tokens on top exchanges. This can give good effects yet some people believe that coins/tokens listed on top exchanges have a more potential future.

3. Pay some media to spread out your project information. This can make investors easy to find out information about your project.

4. Make interesting events that can gather many people. It may be airdrop, trading competition of your coin/token, or any other else.

5. Get a partnership with other crypto projects. Choose good or popular crypto projects that can make people more trust in your project.
5587  Other / Meta / Re: What if Theymos added new Rank after Legendary? on: December 26, 2019, 03:34:41 PM
-snip-
The "problem" is that many farmed spammers reached Legendary in the past, and despite many getting banned, there are still Legendary Shitposters. Maybe that can be a new rank Tongue
I agree. Instead of thinking for a new higher rank, we still have another problem that is more necessary. Not only Legendary shitposters, we probably have Hero and Senior shitposters or even there are many others (Full member-below). Why don't we focus on this problem firstly? Mythical rank won't fix this problem, on the contrary we may have other potential problems.
5588  Other / Meta / Re: What if Theymos added new Rank after Legendary? on: December 25, 2019, 07:44:20 AM

Those in signature campaigns perhaps. A new/higher rank could alter the payment rates in all or most campaigns. Legendary members who received little/zero merit/s might complain to the changes because they will find it hard to rank up and will no longer enjoy the highest rates/stakes.
Yes, it is one of the examples. Bounty managers may consider a small change in the payment rates. Mythical replaces Legendary for the highest rates. In addition, the payment gap between mythical and legendary rank may be quite big. So, legendary feel a bit uncomfortable because they get a smaller allocation then (I guess).

5589  Other / Meta / Re: DefaultTrust changes on: December 25, 2019, 06:59:17 AM
Theymos had a very difficult job in protecting this forum.
Absolutely. But I think he doesn't protect it alone. Besides Cyrus, mods, and staff, You and I must support him also, right?  Wink

He wanted free speech and anonymity but needed a system to balance it based on trusted people.
That's why sometimes it is needed to evaluate the current system. I think he has already many good men to help him considering an ideal system.

Unfortunately, drama is now the main topic of discussion around here.   :/
We will always see drama everywhere. It is something unavoidable. We only have a choice to deal with it.
5590  Other / Meta / Re: What if Theymos added new Rank after Legendary? on: December 25, 2019, 05:55:05 AM
If he do, what could it be called? I'm thinking Mythical which is same with the Mobile Legend Final highest ranking.
I ever saw this rank on another forum. Looks cool but I think it is no need to add on bitcointalk forum. We have already had Merit system, newbie to legendary level has been fit on it. If we add Mythical, I am worried that it will cause noise and jealousy. Finally, it will lead to another drama among high-rank members. However, everything will depend on how theymos considers the need.

*Sorry if I have a different view.
5591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Holiday Merits] - Post Your Favorite Altcoin Post of 2019 on: December 25, 2019, 05:15:19 AM
Another merit giveaway. Looks pretty fit with the happy moment today. I love every member that has a high concern to others. @CryptopreneurBrainboss is another kind member that I ever knew. Thanks to @tk808 and @CryptopreneurBrainboss, I will try to find a proper member, especially members from Indonesia.

*By the way, we know that we all are brothers in this forum. Help and care to others are absolutely needed.

5592  Other / Meta / Re: FREE MERIT COME FAST BEFORE I RUN OUT [Happy Holidays] on: December 25, 2019, 04:46:25 AM
Always happy to spread Christmas cheer. I am always on the lookout for merit worthy posts, even if I don’t have time to be as active anymore.
An example of a high-rank member with great dedication and kind to others. @Quickseller, @suchmoon, and @Hhampuz, you are like heroes for merit hunters. Thanks in advance.  Smiley

Happy holiday from Indonesia.
5593  Other / Meta / Re: Session timed out while posting? on: December 25, 2019, 04:29:30 AM
I'm guessing when you log in you don't change the "time to stay logged in" it's defualt is 60 minutes.
I have done it, buddy. Usually, I changed to 300 minutes.

I will take a look at the video. Thank you to share it with me.  Smiley

My home pc is secure so I use really high number 6000 minutes.
It can still make the error.  but it seems to not do so as often.
Maybe I need to follow your habit, sir. Nice idea.  Smiley

1. Always click on Preview button in order to have a back up of your post in draft page. You can see more in my topic - Draft page - Pros & Cons
You are right. Yeah, it is one of the solutions got from the previous thread discussing about it. If we clicked the preview button, it will have a backup on the draft page.
5594  Other / Meta / Session timed out while posting? on: December 25, 2019, 03:25:54 AM

I have tried to use the search feature to find out the explanation of this case. Unfortunately, I just found out a single thread that was discussing it. To be honest, I am still not satisfied with that discussion. So, I still have a few questions related to this problem.

The questions:
1. Is this a common problem happened to everyone?
2. How long we should finish writing a post, so the notification does not appear?
3. What causes the problem exactly?
4. Does forum have a plan to remove the notification?

Related thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1025824.0

*Sorry If this is a very fundamental problem. Honestly, I want to know clearly everything about this problem.

5597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are investors pulling out of Libra? on: December 24, 2019, 11:30:05 PM
Who’s pulled out so far?
--snip--
The first time hearing about a number of partners in the Libra by the Facebook project was indeed surprising. Because, a few months ago, Libra became a very convincing topic of conversation to become a top coin. What's more with the joining of PayPal, Visa, eBay, Stripe, and others. However, when they finally decided to resign, this became a big problem for Libra. In fact, it is very influential in the future and also the development of the Libra coin itself.
The question is, is Libra able to attract other big partners to convince the market that Libra is a promising coin for the future?

Libra’s Future
Why are investors pulling out of Libra coin?
--snip--
Related to the future of Libra, I am also curious whether this coin is able to overcome various negative news and responses. And make potential investors trust the coin again by gaining various partners who are very influential.
What's more, lately we hear negative issues related to data leakage by Facebook which certainly makes Libra's image increasingly declining.
5598  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [LOG] List Rank Up Member Indonesia (Member - Legendary) on: December 24, 2019, 02:48:30 PM
-snip-
Berikut adalah hal penting diketahui supaya bisa rank-up.
  • 1. Jumlah posting mencukupi
  • 2. Aktivitas  mencukupi
  • 3. Merit mencukupi
-snip-

**Seperti skill menulis, cara mengembangkan ide/opini, metode pengumpulan data, dsb. (dihubungkan dengan teknis memposting)

-snip-
5599  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do Spendable Merits expire? on: December 24, 2019, 01:19:17 PM
Spendable Merits expire?
sMerit = not Spendable Merits but sendable merit.

Meaning there is no such policy which says they will expire?
You have seen the policy wrote by @Coyster above. But it seems still not implemented all this time. However, it may be implemented in the future as it is already stated by forum.
5600  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins getting delisted on: December 24, 2019, 01:13:42 PM
I'm not surprised if many altcoins are delisted. We must know that Bitcoin dominates crypto market while altcoins are far away from their season. Moreover, altcoins always depend on Bitcoin value. This situation makes investors afraid to invest in altcoins, they prefer to invest in Bitcoin. Even they invest in altcoins, they only choose the most recommended ones like Ethereum, Ripple, BNB coin, or other top altcoins. I am sure those delisted coins have low transactions (buy-sell), and getting worse day after day. So, it makes sense if they are delisted by the exchanges.
