About Ripple (sorry!): people should be aware that "the Ripple network" and "the Ripple coin" (XRP) are two very distinct things (unlike the bitcoin network and BTC). The banks are interested in the Ripple network, which is being designed for their use. The banks could use the currency XRP in that network, but do not have to. So adoption of the network by the banks does not imply that XRP will become valuable, or even survive. (That is what I understood; please correct if it is wrong.)
yes i still call ripple bs though, but my greed tells me to buy ![Cry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cry.gif)

It is currently the bulls that lose money.
Bulls are allowed to short too you know ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Defining a bull as someone who never sells is as extreme as defining a bear as someone who never buys. Bull and bear are temporal definitions - if someone is not interested in a market he is not a bear - but an outside observer. Bear is someone who currently is not holding the asset (or is shorting it) - but plans to buy it later. Bulls that hold shorts are just stupid (I guess there could be a legitimate scenario where someone was betting on volatility and holding both the asset and shorts on it - but it does not make sense in our setup). You can be bearish short to midterm but still bullish longterm. Its not mutually exckusive and can be incredible profitable ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

@oda.kell: think of it in another way:
If we assume that adoption drive prices, then a metric of adoption would be the price itself. This will tell you that adoption has not grown in the past year. If instead, we assume that adoption doesn't drive prices then the discussion is irrelevant for future prices.
Note that I intuitively believe that adoption has grown, but also that it is not linked to price at all.
Sometimes price runs ahead of adoption (and will eventually get back to reality). you mean speculators? ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

1 Ripple = 0.0175 USD.
Is it worth spending a couple of hundred dollars on Ripple incase it explodes?
Ripple consesus algo is faulty should be very careful That's stellar's not ripple's. Jed changed some code when he forked it.... The blogpost of stellar says something else though.

Huge storm happening in my town right now, if I go dark for a few days don't worry I'm not dead (but my electricity probably is)
~CryptAxe
hope its all good there ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) any profit from the supernet core, just wonder.
atomic will play a very important role in supernet because it will enable cross-blockchain trading between all supernet coins. that means that atomic will definitly have a secured profit source except in the case that supernet will not work (but chances for that are probaly less then 1%) ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) also supernet is just the first step, because atomic will be able to enable cross blockchain trading for all coins/assets that is based on blockchain technology itself!

I am excited about Open Bazaar too, but will they have the inventory of items that Amazon has? And Amazon is what mainstream people use, they will probably not trust OPen Bazaar.
Bitcoin is not for mainstream people, but for people who want to evade laws and regulations. It can be used with mainstream online merchants, but this is just a gimmick. Yeah, everyone posting here is atleast a tier 5 don of some international drug or human trafficking cartell. Back to reality dont you think btc would have easily broken the 10.000$ if that would be the case ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)
