Oh God, Bitcoin is dying!!!
5582  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 06, 2015, 12:28:32 PM
it is me or bears are starting to feel uneasy?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRKhTvUUYMI

I fear that the only thing they worry about is that they can only drag this mofo $276 more down. They will never have another 2014.

You still short fatman? That is so 5 January Smiley
I don't short and I don't trade.

I don't think the stamp thing will make much of an impact on the price. They handled it in a professional manner so far and the loss is manageable. After Gox nobody is suprised that this things could happen.

Banks have security breaches regularly. I hope stamp learns from this, but they are still probably the most competent in the field.
5585  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 06, 2015, 10:37:34 AM
So is there a rational explanation for what's happened here?

1. 19k coins have been stolen from stamp (how?) and were sold forcing the market to unprecedented lows.
2. Stamp has to buy these coins back.
3. Stamp is pulling a potential gox and is insolvent?

What's going on?
I think this was a timed incident to make Bitcoin look bad for World of Bitcoin. Stamp is very unlikely culpable.

Cut off the head and the body will die. It is not unimaginable that Kreml or Berlin had something to do with this. But I fear it's a couple of geeks in Bratislava or Sofia who now can retire at the age of 33.
5586  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 06, 2015, 10:07:27 AM
you guys lose money first on mt.gox, than you lose money second time on stamp, how many more times you need to lose money to learn that online exchanges are scam to take out your money? you can quote me on next exchange scam.

Is this turd lambie or a new breed of turds?
5587  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 06, 2015, 12:57:03 AM
If this happened in the real world it would be serious but its a Bitcoin Exchange so everyone just sits tight like its normal.

It is normal. Heck! It's a bloody tradition by now.

I don't give a sh#@$t about Bitstamp, but I would prefer that their implosion doesn't send Bitcoin further down the drain.

Why not? Cheap coins Grin Grin
I mean, bitcoin won't die does it? Please,... tell me it won't die.
please

please!

Wink

Bitcoin won't die, but it will be a lot less useful. The infrastructure around it will probably die. And I respect you too much to tell you where you can shove your cheap coins.

Bitcoin will finally separate from fiat, will become much more useful, and its price in USD will have no significance.

Although I have said "TO DA MOON!!!" quite a lot myself as well, I don't actually live on the moon; yet. Until then, fiat matters.

sheesh thats one dumb ass comment after another...
But something was missing, thank you for bringing the Mojo we needed.

Bitstamp Claims Roughly 19,000 BTC Lost in Hot Wallet Hack

http://www.coindesk.com/bitstamp-claims-roughly-19000-btc-lost-hot-wallet-hack

So it was true, still not a huge blow.

Nejc handled it well. Hope they learn something out of it.

Mind providing the source from where the statement initially came from?
Stan Higgins @Coindesk

Weird silence from stamp. Statement to journalist speaks to me they were pressed for answers.

If you're having security issues you might want to wait till they are all plugged before you tell the world about them in full.

If the Bitcoin economy survives we are going to have the toughest security systems on the planet. Stress-testing of banking systems? Blah! Try doing anything in bitcoin and you will see how tiny your nuts are.

do you think it is better to change in ripple/altcoins?

They are dying faster than Bitcoin. If Bitcoin has no value then the altcoins definitely has no value.

Market is being buoyed by Coinbase buyers switching to BFX and/or just somebody trying to put a floor under this. That said, the bottom is clearly about to fall out. Mining has accelerated so that miners can get new coins and sell them at this price before the price falls to the single digits. Then it dies. The end. Nothing else to say. The s--- has just died. Period. Death.

Enjoy the bloody sharts over the next few days.

... ?

That makes no sense whatsoever.
5599  Economy / Speculation / Re: Automated posting on: January 05, 2015, 09:23:45 PM

Stamp needs to get online and give us some numbers soon, or this mofo is going to sink like an anvil.

I'm very happy to only have 0,07 BTC over there which I received for trading some worthless shit ripple I once got in the past for beta testing.
Since I had to verify I went to finex, fuck that shit.
I'm happy to trade on finex and btc-e

Never lost a coin on any exchange other than making mistakes with trading Smiley
Overall profit ofcourse
