5581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin halving make cryptocurrencies reach all time high again? on: February 26, 2020, 07:16:54 PM

So, something not seen yet can be the reason why cryptocurrencies  can reach new all time high such as people anticipation. Like I am anticipating, I have invest in 0.4 btc. Some people will also do as I did.

This is what I think about cryptocurrencies  this year and next year because this process will extend to next year as I analyzed it. You people can also make contributions to know if we should invest more on cryptocurrencies  this year.

I think that Bitcoin still has its potential, and it definitely will reach ATH at some point within the next couple of years (5 maximum). However, I don't think it will bring other coins to their success as well. Times are very different than they used to be, the vast majority of the projects have disappointed their investors. Even the projects that received a lot of funding and where the token prices went up very significantly did not bring in the results they've promised. Surely, some have achieved something (EOS, TRX) or even a lot (Ethereum), but they have not done enough to boost the confidence of investors in the altcoin market back after the big surge of 2018.
5582  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving Could drop Inflation Rate lower than central banks on: February 26, 2020, 07:05:37 PM
How do you calculate the inflation rate of bitcoin. It is a currency with limited supply and the the supply will decrease at certain interval. How can the inflation is even 3.6%? It is a deflationary currency! Can you please elaborate?

The circulating supply is increasing as we speak due to the mining subsidy. Miners are creating about 1,800 bitcoins per day. Deflationary? I don't think so. Tongue

The argument that Bitcoin is deflationary only applies once users are losing bitcoins at a faster rate than inflation. You'd be hard pressed to find evidence that 3.6% of bitcoins are being lost annually.
While people often say that Bitcoin is deflationary, it's true that since the circulating supply increases, there's some inflation rate. As for how it's calculated and whether it's calculated accurately - that's also a question for me. And speaking of deflation, I believe that it's true that Bitcoin is deflationary, from a long-term perspective. Even the fact that the Bitcoin inflation rate is decreasing inevitably is supporting this idea. And eventually, once the mining's over, Bitcoin will truly be a deflationary cryptocurrency.
Furthermore, if we interpret these terms judging by the prices of goods (inflation if it increases and deflation if it decreases) which is also a common way to define inflation and deflation, then Bitcoin has shown to be deflationary (since one pizza costs less and less in BTC).
5583  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stock market CRASHING. How will this reflect on Bitcoin on: February 26, 2020, 06:27:58 PM

Is the stock market heading to a crash and recession?
Will Bitcoin follow?
I think it's no big deal. The stock market is down about 3%, is it a significant event? While I do believe that at some point in 2020 the stock market will suffer a huge loss due to another world economic crisis, now it is still early to say when it is going to happen and what will trigger it. As for Bitcoin, it's down 6%, and it's probably because of the FUD that emerges when people like Buffett decide to publicly undermine Bitcoin... As for the reaction of Bitcoin in case the stock market goes down, I think Bitcoin might go down with everything else for a while, but it will win from this situation in the long run as it could be a way for investors to save the remnants of their wealth.
5584  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ex-Coinbase CTO Argues Bitcoin Will Likely Hit $100,000 Using Coronavirus on: February 26, 2020, 06:19:04 PM

https://beincrypto.com/ex-coinbase-cto-argues-bitcoin-will-likely-hit-100000-using-coronavirus-spread-pattern/

Bitcoin to $100k (Based on Stochastic Model)
Angel investor, cryptocurrency trader, and former Coinbase CTO Balaji S. Srinivasan underlined this similarity between the BTC price and the spread pattern of coronavirus earlier today in a series of tweets.
I don't even know how to react. I think that it's good if it's a weird joke because comparing the virus outbreak and Bitcoin price is wrong on many accounts. First of all, there's no direct connection between the two. The outbreak might affect mining long-term, but mining does not have a direct impact on the price. Then, the number of sick people has literally nothing to do with the number of dollars per coin, and the very idea of such a comparison seems morally questionable to me. The only idea in the tweet with which I could agree is that with Bitcoin being $10k it is more likely that we'll see it being worth $100k than it used to be before Bitcoin cost that much.
5585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Take the latest Crypto Quiz and find out if you are the next Satoshi Nakamoto! on: February 26, 2020, 06:06:24 PM
Nevertheless, I have a couple of thoughts. For one, at the end of the quiz, it says 'well done sir', presupposing that the quiz was done by a man, whereas it's not always true, so makes it kind of offensive. Another thing is that I did not get why the highest price on the Coindesk index was $1165... Coindesk is still working, so it shows the current price of Bitcoin which is clearly more than that. I was looking for a $20k answer or something. Could you or anyone explain this one?

Thanks for pointing out the mistakes. We have rectified it. Please keep supporting us.
Oh, if these were mistakes, then fine. Yeah, the idea of the quiz is really cool, I think. People love these short interactive tests, and I don't remember seeing any about Bitcoin before. I am not sure this could help boost adoption since a person who does not know about Bitcoin probably would not take the tests, but it is a good reminder and a brain exercise for those who use it. And who knows, if these tests got popular, it could actually help to make Bitcoin more noticeable since people often share their test results in social media, thus challenging more people to try them.
5586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Simpsons talks about Cryptocurrency on: February 23, 2020, 05:58:50 PM
Te Simpsons is a visionary show.
They talked about trump as president before he was elected.

Thanks for sharing.
Even though I believe, like many others, that this show has degraded a lot, and its best times are deep in the past, it is still influential, so it's great that there was a talk about cryptos there. It's still watched by millions of viewers, so it's quite a big advertising for Bitcoin. As for that visionary stuff, I remember South Park did a whole episode on the impossibility of doing original stuff because Simpsons already did that. So my point is that there's been so much stuff there that some of it actually came true. It reminds me of "The Library of Babel" by Borges where there's literally everything that has ever been or will be written.
5587  Economy / Gambling / Re: ♛ Alpha.Casino | Crypto| Provably fair |ERC20 | Dice | Casino |👑 🎰🎲 on: February 23, 2020, 05:47:08 PM
I think the first post should be extended and include some information about the casino, its games, and features, perhaps a couple of screenshots.
I like the design, I'd say it looks above average. But when I clicked on the dice game, the log-in window popped up. I entered an email and password but received the following response:
Quote
These credentials do not match our records.
I get it, it's log-in and not sign up, but I think it should offer to sign up right away if a person does not have the account. I couldn't see a sign-up button in that window, and could not close it either which is also something to reconsider. So signing up is apparently possible only from the main page right now, but it's not very useful when it's like that.
Anyway, I signed up and received the free credits automatically. The roulette is really small, it's quite difficult to follow the ball this way. And I think it would be better to make "Alfa Bet" a link to the main page as well since now a person has to click on the logo for that to work.
Good luck!
5588  Economy / Gambling / Re: Opening a new gambling website 2020' on: February 23, 2020, 05:21:51 PM
Welcome to this forum! It's understandable that you want to advertise your website here, but you need to understand that even though our feedback might be harsh, we're trying to help you out.
First of all, op, please quote properly, without incorporating your answers into the quotes. It makes it hard to differentiate the questions from your responses.
Secondly, make a nice ANN thread, similar to those other websites have (with screenshots, links and stuff like that).
Finally, no offense but the website's design with winning opportunities and a creeping line don't encourage me to trust this website.
5589  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Main Club Partner of Watford FC ⚽ Fun. 🏀 Fast. 🎾 Fair. on: February 23, 2020, 04:32:39 PM
Watford down 1-0 at the half. Fernandes could have scored second in the last minute but missed.
Tough second half ahead as the Hornets have to open up which would likely result in United having even more chances on counter-attack.

The commentators said that Watford this season has scored just 1 goal (26 matches played) from set pieces which if it's true, is nuts...
3-0 is a serious loss for Watford... Manchester is a very strong opponent, though, something like that could be expected, judging by their game history. Manchester played 34 games against Watford and lost only 6 of them... The game could go in a very different direction but after that disallowed goal things went increasingly worse for Watford. In a tough moment like this, it's important not to lose hope and to support Watford. There's still a bunch of upcoming matches, so good luck, Watford FC!
5590  Economy / Gambling / Re: SATOSHI MINES on: February 23, 2020, 04:12:04 PM
Out of boredom I put his text into google translate to find out what happened.

Basically is saying that Satoshimines is scamming people and the FBI has been notified. Saying that they want the owner of Satoshimines arrested and it will make them very happy. Then something about finding the satoshimines cold storage BTC wallet and contacting their bank so they can get a refund. Saying that they have stolen of 1 million dollars since 2016 and crushed many peoples dreams. And by crushing peoples dreams you lose double or triple the amount of money you stole or result in death.

Most likely google translate is not fully accurate however it seems that they were scammed a while back and for some reason come back now to get a refund. Pretty sure the OP of this topic won't be replying anytime soon. Sorry for your loss.
Wow, it's sad when an old website that's been around for years decides to scam people after all. The website doesn't load for me, so perhaps it's really down (although it doesn't load because secure connection is not established)... But perhaps the problem is that the website's down, the team moved own, whereas you can't really block your wallet so that people don't send money there... Maybe the website does load for some people and their transactions don't get processed. I could not find any data on Satoshi Mines scamming people before (only saw some discussions of the game being illegitimate, but that's different), so I think Cr1sis1000 should try to open a scam accusation (it probably won't do anything, but it might, who knows).
5591  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 KawBet.com | Anonymous Bitcoin Casino & Sportsbook [SOFT LAUNCHING] on: February 22, 2020, 06:57:56 PM
Op, since you're new here, I'd like to say a couple of things. Welcome to our forum, and thank you for sharing your project here. Anonymous casinos will always find their customers, I think since many people are strictly against KYC. The problem with such casinos, however, is trust. People are risking a lot by letting total strangers manage their money. So building trust would not be easy, but I'm not saying it's impossible. To do this, you should make the website provably fair (a good first step), and offer that nice life support on this forum in your thread as well by answering the questions and concerns that have been voiced here. A signature campaign is great for promotion, but it would not mean much if you spoil your trust on the forum.
5592  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why we have slow steps about convincing governments to accept bitcoin? on: February 22, 2020, 06:38:38 PM
today I read this shocking news:

Binance is not authorized to operate in malta financial regulator says

This means that the history of Malta being friendly with cryptos is far from being true, that is, we are still walking very slowly in relation to convincing governments to accept bitcoin. I wonder how this story will end?
I don't know, it seems really weird that pretty much the most solid exchange is based in a mysterious place. It was common knowledge that the headquarters were in Malta. It should be noted that the statement by the regulator does not deny it, it simply states that Binance is not regulated by it... I think we should wait for clarification from Binance before jumping to conclusions. As for Malta being crypto-friendly, this opinion has been undermined a couple of times before. Not everything is good there, see, for instance, this article.
As for the question that names the thread, I believe that only through small steps any progress can be achieved when it comes to governments because they are naturally cautious.
5593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A game that educates people about Bitcoin on: February 22, 2020, 06:21:42 PM
I don't think games are a good tool for educating adults about new concepts, they are time-consuming and distracting. You could use them to teach kids, but why would you want to teach kids about Bitcoin in the first place, it's not like they will be using it till they grow up.

Adults play games to relax and have fun, and educational games generally have poor gameplay, so I can't imagine such game being popular.
This might be a fair point, actually. At first, I thought it was a great idea, but if the game's heavily educational rather than a cool game on its own which somewhat touches on the topic of Bitcoin, it's not likely that it would become popular. When people want to learn something, they read an article or watch a video, but probably don't play a game. However, since Bitcoin is largely unknown to any sort of audience, the game could adjust to the academic curriculum and pushed as something that could be used in Economics classes in high school. The usage of games to make students interested is getting more and more popular (I, for instance, use Kahoot quite often as a teacher, and teenagers enjoy it), so if this game's education, it can fit right in. In that case, however, it should probably be more about different kinds of money, Bitcoin should not be a single topic. And it should be possible to play it for, like, 5-10 minutes in a classroom.
5594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto whales hacked, lost $15M BTC and $30M BCH on: February 22, 2020, 06:02:21 PM
Bitcoin dropped more than 6%, I wonder whether the main reason is this new hack (or information suggesting that it occurred). To be honest, I don't usually trust some Twitter accounts claiming that something happened, even if the accounts are not unpopular. I can see the webpage with transaction IDs, sure, but it does not itself mean that the money was stolen. It could be transferred for various reasons. Moreover, I noticed that reputable media wrote 'allegedly hacked' in their coverage of this story. So perhaps it did not even happen... Yet the FUD, in any case, was probably enough to cause a price drop. This SIM swapping stuff is very frightening, though, even if this particular case is not related to it.
5595  Economy / Gambling / Re: Here are some great promotions for all of you! on: February 21, 2020, 06:52:37 PM
I think it's a cool idea to collect promotions and update the list on a regular basis, this could be useful! It's sad that what I see is largely unpopular websites, and not that many promos at all! Keep an eye on Bitcasino.io and Sportsbet.io, they often have some promotions! And please respond to the stuff others wrote about something not working, you making too many threads, about it being an affiliated website, etc. If you want it to be useful to gamblers, you gotta do it right, so that everyone's happy. Of course, we can understand that you need to make some profit as well, but these things should be revealed at the beginning.
5596  Economy / Gambling / Re: Need 2 casinos recommended on: February 21, 2020, 06:34:21 PM
im highly recommed you to play with sportsbet but unfortunately the casino has terms&condition for asking KYC. they have such fast deposit and withdraw.
They can ask for KYC, that's true, but it's not like they always (or even usually) do that. They reserve the right to ask for KYC, and I don't see how else fighting money laundering or some people who are involved in other sorts of suspicious activity. I think it's pretty common for solid companies to have such KYC policies, and they are rather mild IMO. I would recommend this website because it's reputable, has everything one needs for good experience, and the team is really cool with all sorts of promos on regular basis. A friend also says they have, like, one of the best options there are online to play poker.
5597  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Visa approves Coinbase as Principal Member - big step for mass adoption? on: February 21, 2020, 06:16:37 PM
Quote
The leading cryptocurrency exchange in the United States, Coinbase, has been approved as the very first “pure-play” crypto-related company to become a Visa principal member. Supposedly, this would allow the exchange to further improve its customer experience.

I know Coinbase is a centralized crypto wallet provider and bla bla but here are some facts to consider:
1. Coinbase is the first ever crypto company to manage such approval.
2. Visa manages a market cap worth $466 billion
3. Visa is the largest payment settlement provider in the world based on volume

Do you think it is a great step towards mass adoption? Will it be a positive or a negative?

News ref: https://cryptopotato.com/visa-approves-us-cryptocurrency-exchange-coinbase-as-principal-member/
It's surely not something for everyone, but it does work with Bitcoin (not some centralized token or whatever), so I think it's still a good step toward adoption. I think it's a big step because it means that one way or another Bitcoin can be recognized and supported. I think we should also consider the country. If this happened in Switzerland, I would not be thrilled, but the US policies on BTC are rather tough, so it's good to see some positive moves. Sure, it's centralization, KYC and stuff, but IMO it's still way better than nothing or even than Libra.
5598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin The Best Safe-haven In The Wake of Financial Crisis? on: February 21, 2020, 05:58:58 PM
In September 2019, Gallup released a poll in which 49% of Americans believe the U.S. economy would fall into recession, 9% higher than the one polled before the 2008 financial crisis. The world situation is turbulent after entering 2020. US-Iraq conflicts continue, the China-U.S. relation on a tight rope, coupled with the broken out of regional financial crisis over the years, the public’s fear of recession is growing. The rising price of insurance assets also indicates that more people are preparing for the financial crisis.
The biggest impact of the outbreak of financial crisis on people is not only the asset depreciation caused by inflation, but also the decline in employment. It is not enough to simply choose a safe-haven to deal with financial crisis, we need to ensure our source of income. VDS turns interpersonal relationships into cash flow through the Trust Stamp System from which we can obtain a steady stream of revenue. Or we could build super master nodes to provide network service to earn profits. In response to the centralized financial crisis, a decentralized Bitcoin may be the best choice as safe haven. VDS brings decentralization and freedom back to Bitcoin and boost potential appreciation. These two march together and complement each other.
I've been thinking in a very similar way. I am not American, but I do believe that the world economic crisis is on its way, and this one might hurt more than the previous one. I think it might even bring the end of fiat with the dollar collapsing and major currencies following shortly afterward. If this happens, all of the assets and currencies might be down for a while, and I am not sure Bitcoin is an exception. In the aftermath, however, Bitcoin might be the savior for reasons you've covered (mainly since it's not susceptible to hyperinflation as it doesn't have an unlimited supply). In that situation, however, a solution to make global adoption truly possible would have to come asap.
5599  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 0.28 bitcoin to be in the 1% of richest bitcoin holder on: February 21, 2020, 05:48:17 PM
To be part of the 1% of the richest in the world when it comes to Bitcoin you only need 0.28 Bitcoin . - According to Jake Levison

Yea, in BTC terms. I honestly don't think that statement means that much because it's probably only relevant if Bitcoin actually reached far far greater heights in terms of adoption. I'm personally also a long-term bull and I completely get what Levison is trying to say, but idunno. It's not safe to assume that some people are already assuming that they're going to be one of the future world elites if they own 0.28 BTC. A slightly negative comment to balance things out a bit I guess?  Tongue
To be honest, I don't understand how this number is calculated. I had a quarter of BTC, so I was pretty close to this one, but why is it 1% richest holder? There are 18 million BTC in circulation, so it's really hard to believe that such a small number could make a person a part of 1% richest holders. And from the data I've encountered on the richest BTC addresses, they have quite a lot of BTC. If there're 42 million wallets, then the one owning at least 0.28 BTC should be in 420k of the richest ones, right? If what AsusPower wrote about 720k addresses with 1 BTC or more is right, I don't see how the math can work out here.
5600  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks are killing us! Fund a pilot project (no ICO) completely in BTC??? on: February 20, 2020, 05:32:59 PM
I think that raising funds might be an option, but I would not set the hopes high. After all, there've been and still are too many scams. And besides, why would people want to invest in an ATM project? There are some ATMs out there around the world, and I've never seen anyone raising money to put another one. You could try to raise money on Kickstarter, I guess, but there's a very tricky part here: investors would be interested in withdrawal fees being very high since it would mean bigger profit for them (or not?), whereas potential users would not like it and ATMs are in fact famous for overly expensive fees. Since this is mainly the community of potential users rather than investors, it would not be easy to find sympathetic people for this project, I believe.
