561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could a coin price be locked in place? on: April 02, 2019, 04:56:08 PM
The value for anything is always determined by the market.
Stable coins are stable because they have a equal number of currency stored as a escrow that can be changed in and out to maintain the price of the token.
There are concept of rise only markets, all of which have ended in scams.
562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's value vs Ethereum on: April 01, 2019, 05:37:34 PM
One of the reasons why the value of these coins are going on a reciprocal direction is them being the 2 most used base currencies for cryptoexchanges and both being the largest stored non fiat based currencies. People are converting in and out in them to tap the profit from the price fluctuations.
563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Knowing when to sell off your crypto investment on: April 01, 2019, 02:16:59 PM
The thing with buying and selling is most people gets emotional while trading. They are excited on rising market and panics in decreasing market.
If you really want to earn from trade, you should be controlled by a formula. You should be able to sell 50% or more of your holdings for the first 10-20% of price fluctuations. Or stick to a formula you make to cashout profit and mitigate loss.

565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HODL&CALM on: January 13, 2019, 03:56:05 AM
The future is crypto but not necessarily the crypto you hodl.
With current market trend and the continuity of it for over a year, I'd say it would be wiser to active trade if you want to make a profit from it.
Who knows? this actually might be the real price of crypto and would remain similar for years to come.
566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hardware wallets to store altcoins - too expensive? on: January 13, 2019, 03:53:06 AM
Hardware wallets do have an added layer of security but if you are cautious and aware of what you are doing, you can easily secure it.
For larger balances and for storing a long time, I'd always recommend paper wallet. You can just print the qr code from any generator and store it in a vault.
Crypting the private key with your secret algorithm would take any bearers 1000s of year to crack it.
567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another Phishing Attack through Emails - Blockchain.info (BEWARE) on: January 13, 2019, 03:49:14 AM
1.) Blockchain.info, MyEtherWallet, MyCrypto, [...] will never send you any E-Mail as they shouldn't even be in possession of it (You never had to enter it except you subscribed to any newsletter)
2.) Always validate the Sender-E-Mail (header) - in this case it's not even a spoofed mail but rather a @yahoo-address.
3.) DO NOT open any links from unknown senders - fortunately the chance is very low but it's still possible getting infected without downloading and running a file (0day-exploits, exploit-kits)

And do verify the proper url of the site you are entering your login credential into. Also look for a valid SSL certificate.
Only enter your password or private key if you intend to make a transaction. For checking balance, the wallet address is enough for most address you bear the private key of.
568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 4-year market cycle approach on: January 13, 2019, 03:42:45 AM
The 4 year cycle model is partially true for every economic sector not just the crypto market. But yet there are many complications. Such as the crest and trough not getting the similar value even after a few 4 years. And the economics of crypto is fulled by quick earning mentality and 4 years are just a lot of work for many of the investors.
569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What does KYC gives you ? on: January 09, 2019, 04:45:13 PM
It gives a peace of mind for legit projects. Providing themselves enough information to stay out from any AML investigations.
While it provides a secondary income for scam projects selling identities on dark market.
Anyway it's a bad option for the investors that risk their identity in several ways.
570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: pos coin or pow ?? on: January 09, 2019, 03:33:51 PM
POW is hard on already limited energy.
POS does the work of POW as effectively and as safely without a large consumption of energy.
That's why every of the new coins are either POS or changing to POS though the POS systems also are of diverse types.
One being completely different from other.
571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: the true crypto alternative to government money on: January 08, 2019, 02:56:31 PM
The crypto solves some very drastic flaws of digital money and is much more customization and openly auditable. We are sure to see a lot of fiat crypto in the developed nations controlled by the local governments. While the under developed corrupt governments would try to stay away from transparency.
572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We Have a lots of Platfrom Coins. Well, Which One? on: January 04, 2019, 03:39:24 PM
I'd rather call Ethereum the Prince (Crown prince) of crypto as it's soon going to become the next king.
On other hand new platform coins are also coming up with attractive features and specialty and not necessarily are competitor of each other.
573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Ethereum Gained 80% in 30-Days & Outmatched Ripple on: January 04, 2019, 03:37:17 PM
Strengthening of Ethereum is a positive set for crypto market. Ethereum price boost would also increase the value of tokens based on the platform as most of them are placed order against Ethereum. And are also a good new for ongoing ICOs and the ones that just ended.
574  Other / Meta / Re: Who really owns this forum? on: January 03, 2019, 04:01:52 PM
Sirius was the founder of this forum. https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Sirius

Cobra and Theymos jointly owned this domain the last time I remember. But Cobra was asked to step down for his extreme responses to bitcoin forks and community. Don't know if Cobra is still the forum co-owner, he isn't active since April 2017.
575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will it be a battle for Ethereum and Ripple all throughout 2019 for second spot on: January 03, 2019, 03:25:36 PM
There are several reasons for Ethereum to sustain its position but Ripple too is working hard to be established as a inter bank token with a global reach. So, we'd need to wait to see how things turns. If we are going to have a bull this year, Ethereum would surely keep the lead.
576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bull Run on January, February or March? Your Predictions please...... on: January 03, 2019, 03:23:35 PM
With current trend, it's getting unpredictable. And in my personal opinion, regular bulls and bears are not going to be good for crypto.
All we want is a slow progress towards a stable market with new gen coins and global adoption.
577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: An audited stablecoin on: January 02, 2019, 03:42:35 PM
As far as I know almost all of the so called Stable coin are supposed to do an independent audit and all of the popular stable coin like Tether and TrueUSD do have a regular and independent audit. It is absolutely needed to confirm that the project has funds to forfeit the value of coin.
578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum is about to take back number #2 on: January 02, 2019, 03:26:29 PM
It has already got it's 2nd place back and let's hope it would be able to keep it's place and rise to the 1st position rather than falling.
Ethereum is still the leader as a sidechain platform and growing more than any of its competitor and it's only problem of scaling is being eased.
579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ETH founder Vitalik Buterin about to join Waves Platform? on: January 01, 2019, 01:54:05 PM
Vitalik Buterin is a free thinker and he doesn't limits himself as a Ethereum founder. And it would not be a surprise if he joins another project or a new one.
But for waves, he did once met with waves founder but that's it. It's funny even to think Vitalik Buterin to join Waves Platform. If he goes for something new, it would be better than Ethereum not inferior.
580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to protect the market and the investors from manipulations of the whales ? on: January 01, 2019, 01:46:55 PM
It's real that human have nature to earn more in short time doing nothing. And if we are not regulated, we seems to go beyond any ethics to earn more than others.
So we need regulations and the only power than can implement it is our local government. So we have reached a position where we need to work along the interest of governments to save cryptocurrency.
