561  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Options for portable homemade DIY hardware wallet (no commercial wallets)? on: April 02, 2024, 03:50:43 PM
Have you ever used one of those tiny Ledger screens where you have to scroll through an address to make sure its right? Tiny screens are a safety issue, in my opinion.
I don't agree that they are a safety issue. It's not difficult to group the characters in your head and remember the last character of the previous screen before you switch to the next one. I find it easier to verify a bitcoin address on my Ledger Nano S than on my Trezor One. Ledger divides it in three parts, and the characters are bigger on screen. The Trezor One shows everything at once, but the size is quite small and I have to strain my old eyes. The new Trezor update will divide the addresses into groups of 4 characters I think. That's going to be the best option in my opinion because it's easier to verify group by group.

@zabzob
I don't think airport security will be able to recognize that your Maix Amigo is a hardware signer. But I understand your concerns. The Seedsigner and the Jade can work in stateless mode. So, even if security were to ask you to unlock the hardware wallet, or turn it on, there wouldn't be anything on it. You can always say it's blank, you are bringing it to a friend, etc. They surely don't have the knowledge or time to look for your xPubs and addresses to see how much bitcoin is on them.

---------UPDATE-------

I just recorded a gameplay video where you can see the 4 games in action.
https://youtu.be/J8Ad0-v5JkI
I just took a look. I guess you know that the audio and video are out of sync. You can hear the reel starting to spin before you actually see it. That could be something you can fix in a future update for an even better user experience. The sound looks ok in the other games, though. Only the slot game is affected.

Unless... a simple fleeting thought that I still have to take a deeper look at, but currently I think blackjack.fun can actually raise a level 2 or 3, a breach of agreement from the ToS side, as below, which he violates when he deliberately use the bug for his advantage [a petty revenge to other user] and effectively [3.10.] manipulate the market or element of the service in bad faith [the petty revenge] and/or [4.1.5.] disrupt and affect the activities of other customer and BJF's service, and [clearly] didn't make them whole with the whole accusations JPR made inside and outside the forum
His word means less than shit at this point. Even his explanations and reasoning that he only wanted to help the casino fix the bugs in its games can't be trusted anymore. A scammer is a scammer, regardless of the amount. If he can't scam you for $600, he will gladly take only $24 from you to satisfy his sick and pathetic needs.
564  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Buy passport or coldcard on: April 02, 2024, 03:15:14 PM
As for receiving the package, in my case, everything is delivered to the doorstep, and all costs are paid to the delivery person (cash/card), although previously it was necessary to receive appropriate notification from the customs administration and then take a picture and send all the information so that they could issue a delivery authorization with an invoice for tax payment.
It depends how the company sends the package and if you have an option to choose between regular post and some type of express delivery. The cheapest post deliveries might not be delivered to your home in cases where you are required to pay import tax and customs duties. You might just receive a letter with instructions where to pick up your shipment and how much you owe.

Considering everything, the best option is to have a physical store that sells HW and where you can simply pay with cash.
That protects you from the possibility of suffering from data leaks, as seen with Ledger and Trezor. But it introduces slightly greater risks that someone manipulated the devices physically.

<Snip>
I am sorry you fell for his impersonation tactics. Did you ever speak to the real Noah over Telegram? If you did, and neither you nor him deleted those conversations, they would have just continued if the real person contacted you. In comparison to that, a brand-new account would also mean a completely blank conversation history.

Just to inform you, jackpotracer has been asking me to remove nutildah from MetaWin campaign which I denied and even I didn't share with nutildah either. He threatened me that he will reach MetaWin if I don't remove nutildah. He reached MetaWin on Friday or Saturday. I had to face few questions from MetaWin rep. This is ridiculous.
I called it a week ago. I knew he would attempt something like that. I am pretty sure he asked icopress to remove me from the campaign as well. It was back when he still claimed to have respect for icopress and tried to sweet-talk him. When that didn't work, he probably got in touch with Jambler, asking to have us both removed.

This is a very malicious individual out for blood. He will be happy with any harm he does to anyone that gets into his way. It stopped being about him vs. Blackjack.Fun a long time ago. His frustrations kept rising after nothing went his way, starting with the $24 that were left on Blackjack.Fun.

@Everyone that doesn't agree with him, be ready for anything. He might even try to set someone up for something. I can think of several things but I am not going to give him any ideas.

Here is what I said last week:

Having said that, I am not going to answer any of your other questions in this thread.
Why? Because this is what your fragile mind has conjured up: You couldn't get me in trouble with icopress, so you tried to get icopress in trouble with another campaign he manages. Because that failed, you have now slightly changed your tactics. You are going to try to present icopress and myself as bad images to Jambler, hoping to provoke us into saying something nasty or not knowing/wanting to answer your questions. After that, you plan on asking Jambler why they would want us in their campaign and that it would be best to remove us because of how terrible we are.

Did I forget something?
Go away little boy, no one is interested.

Do you mind to create a thread on scam accusation board about this? So it will be well documented and, upon supported by evidence, he can be tagged? Lest other campaign manager fall into the same situation.
I don't think he has any evidence. It's Telegram, remember? Any side of a private conversation can delete the whole history without the other party being able to do anything about it. But yes, a thread about the incident should still be created. It wouldn't be enough for new tags from an objective point of few, but it's good to have it out in the open.
566  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Buy passport or coldcard on: April 01, 2024, 03:46:06 PM
However, there are people who will never consider buying such a device for the reason that it only supports Bitcoin, and on top of that, it costs a minimum of $200 for those in the US, and a minimum of EUR 250 for those of us in Europe.

For many, the price comes first, then the appearance, and only at the end the technical details.
The price is a big factor when you buy anything. Especially when you are just starting out, investing around $100 or €250 is very different. One should never cheap out on security, but there are always good alternatives. I am not a fan of buying from resellers and particularly not from non-official shops. If I were to order the Passport from the US, I would be looking at an expensive shipping fee + import tax and custom duties when it arrives in the EU. On top of that, I will probably have to go and pick it up at a post office somewhere because they will want the fees paid before I get my hands on it. It all depends on what they use for shipping.
567  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger - checking up on status, and then disaster on: April 01, 2024, 03:38:01 PM
FYI - I just got a scammer DMing me, telling me to enter whatever words I know of the seed phrase. The user is dj6230. Hope nobody falls for this kind of stuff.
He is a known scammer as you can see by looking at his trust rating. Adding new negative feedback to his profile isn't going to make much of a difference.

Just thought I'd let people know. Is there a better way to report this?
Scams aren't moderated on Bitcointalk by the admins. So, reporting it won't do much. And as I said above, he already has several negative ratings. Scammers like him always prey on possible victims. Never share any sensitive information via PMs. You can report the PM to the mods if you want, but nothing will happen. Maybe, try writing unsolicited messages + phishing, hoping that will do the trick. The admins will then see the content of the PM he sent you. The report button is below the PM you received.

I asked you several questions in my previous post trying to help, did you look at them?
568  Economy / Reputation / Re: Standing Strong Against Unjust Attacks: A Call for Community Support on: April 01, 2024, 03:27:18 PM
You know what? After taking a long break and revisiting this thread, I think there is something fishy here. You were right!

[CC: Pmalek]
No praises yet. Let's wait and see.
Regarding the license, I don't consider it that important of an issue to negatively tag someone for it. It's misleading and deserves a neutral tag at worst if you ask me. If, of course, they lied about it. The major concern is whether a casino is or isn't scamming its players. That's why I am not asking about the license issue anymore, like JollyGood is.

On a different note, has this degenerate now started scamming people? Little Mouse posted unreferenced feedback that he scammed him out of $600. I am guessing on Telegram or some other chat service where you can easily impersonate anyone.
569  Economy / Gambling / Re: ❤️ Cryptos.Host ❤️ Be the house! - 🎰Slots - 🏇Derby - 🎲Dice - ⏏️Plinko on: April 01, 2024, 03:15:38 PM
To register the account you only need a username and a password, the EMail is optional for those who want to test the password recovery feature.
OK, that's good to know.

If I'm there when you register just say hello in the chat an i will send you some balance, that way you can test it.
Oh, so it's not like a demo mode in traditional online casinos where you can play with fun money that gets added to your balance with the click of a button. Perhaps, you can add that feature to simplify things on your end and not have people bothering you to add some change to their balance manually.
570  Other / Meta / Re: Adjustments to Merit calculation on: April 01, 2024, 03:07:59 PM
Great changes theymos! I can already see the results, and the forum looks much cleaner now than it did before 1 April.
Btw, is the fee to buy merits from you same as before? This won't affect our business, will it?
571  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: April 01, 2024, 03:03:44 PM
Not really sure how it can be 2x on your end but I dont think it is related to our account activity since my last bet in this site was few years ago (2021).
That's it then. Because you made a withdrawal before, the minimum withdrawal amount on your account is now 0.00035 BTC. Since I am using a throw-away account that has never deposited or withdrawn anything, it's 0.0007 BTC on my end.

The amounts have been updated for all casinos. If you spot any mistakes, don't hesitate to let me know!
572  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: March 31, 2024, 08:20:22 AM
• The min withdrawal limit has changed on CryptoGames (0.00035 BTC)
Can you tell me where you saw the 0.00035 BTC amount? Is that what you see in your account? I see 0.0007 BTC on my end. But I remember that CryptoGames had a unique system before as well. The first withdrawal from the casino had to be 0.001 BTC in the past and then all subsequent ones could be a minimum of 0.0005 BTC.
573  Economy / Gambling / Re: ❤️ Cryptos.Host ❤️ Be the house! - 🎰Slots - 🏇Derby - 🎲Dice - ⏏️Plinko on: March 31, 2024, 07:21:52 AM
It's always nice to see something different, for a change. It reminds me of the old 80s/90s vibe and the way the games looked like in that era.
I thought I would be able to play a few rounds to see how it is in demo mode, but it didn't work. The page requires that you register an account.

Good luck with the project!
574  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: SafePal X1 Edition USDC - Unboxing on: March 31, 2024, 07:10:48 AM
It looks a lot like a Coldcard, but probably not as feature-rich. The X1 is the closest Safepal model that Wallet Scrutiny came to verifying its source code, but they still couldn't do it.

Were they just giving these away for free (minus the shipping costs) to everyone or did you have to be a previous owner of a Safepal?
What's the deal with the USDC branding? Just marketing, I assume.
Did you have to undergo any sort of KYC to get that 10 USDC refund? Seems like a very cheap trick to connect a real name to a Safepal buyer, even though they already have all that on file if you purchased it with fiat and had it shipped to your home address.

577  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano S - Lost all hope on: March 30, 2024, 10:23:19 AM
So, you'd have to use Ledger Live to install Ledger's Bitcoin app on your Nano S before Electrum can recognize it (but you probably need to then quit Ledger Live before launching Electrum).
Yes, you can't have Ledger Live and Electrum open and accessing the Ledger HW at the same time. After OP installs the bitcoin app, they need to check their portfolio and find the bitcoin account they want to recover in Electrum. Then, take note of the derivation path and insert it into Electrum when the software asks for it. To connect your Ledger with Electrum, you also need to open the bitcoin app on your device before running Electrum and trying to make the connection.

E je*iga sad... Gdje si bio kad sam kupovao novi hardware wallet i odlučio kupiti novi Trezor? Grin

$8 wrench attack, zbog inflacije. Grin
579  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger - checking up on status, and then disaster on: March 30, 2024, 08:00:55 AM
@ContourCool

You have multiple bitcoin accounts at different derivation paths. Maybe you also have bitcoin on different address types, depending on when you first set up your Ledger, created the first bitcoin account, and generated an address. I am knowingly using the term "bitcoin account" (which is wrong) because that's what Ledger calls them.

If you connect your Ledger to Electrum, Sparrow, or another compatible client, you have to point the software to the correct derivation path. I guess that you only pointed it to one of the paths leading to only one bitcoin account you used in the past. You need to do that for each and every one if you created multiple ones. It looks to me like you did.

When you open Ledger Live and go to the Accounts tab on the left, how many different bitcoin accounts do you see? Unless you changed their names, they should be called Bitcoin, Bitcoin 2... You can click on each of those, to see their individual transaction histories. When you open an account, click on the settings icon (the gear icon on the top right). A new window will open where you can see basic information about that account. It will also show your derivation path. That's the path you need to point your software wallet to. Each account will have a slightly different path.

Since you are not actually sure what you did in the past, you might have other bitcoin accounts that are not currently displayed in Ledger Live. If I was you, I would delete my bitcoin accounts from Ledger Live's portfolio and let the software re-scan everything. It will then go step by step and re-add all accounts you created in the past. Who knows, maybe you missed some.

I meant Segwit vs Native Segwit (or did Ledger use Wrapped Segwit before adding Native Segwit?  I don't remember).
Yes, Ledger used all three address types in Ledger Live.

I am glad that it turned out to be such an easy fix in the end that only required a fresh software installation. While we are on it, was the firmware on the device outdated anyways and you installed a new one or did you install the same version you already had on your Jade when it all went tits up?
