FK - rich list?   Huh

I am working on a custom made block explorer that will include a real time rich list - but it is probably still at least 4 weeks away.  Smiley
562  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Mining ASICs Technologies Promises 6TH/s Bitcoin Miner And 200 MH/s Scrypt Miner on: June 23, 2014, 12:01:23 PM
They claimed there was no need for independent verification because they were shipping to customers and customers would prove the miners. The last 4 times this has happened, its not ended well.

Dogie, you didnt receive unit? I think it expplains all, close the thread and ppl will not be scammed anymore.

Its not about receiving a unit, its the attitude which doesn't make sense. Every single post for 15 pages across their 4 threads has been about 'we dont think you're real', yet they don't believe they need verification. It doesn't make sense unless they have nothing.

My thoughts precisely.

They certainly are acting like scammers. Avoiding the real questions, providing no proof and insisting that they are legit and we are all just paranoid for asking for proof.  Roll Eyes

564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So, is this SwarmCoin IPO that's just about to start, legit? on: June 17, 2014, 12:45:30 PM
If it needs an IPO, it's worthless.

Facebook had an IPO? Smiley

Facebook was well and truly established before their IPO.
565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SWARM project will be livestreaming its crowdsale launch! Monday 6/16 8pm Berlin on: June 17, 2014, 12:25:13 AM
From the Swarmcoin website:

Quote
We raise 10,000 BTC, 1/3 to salaries, 1/3 to SWARM coin launch funds, and the rest to Swarm Agents and miscellaneous.

So at todays rates you are basically planning to pay yourselves around $2,000,000 in salaries.  Roll Eyes

Quote
Swarm’s projected 18-month expenses include developing the core infrastructure and usability to allow for the creation of new coins. With a full raise of 21,500 BTC, Swarm will be a true incubator, helping get projects and new coins off the ground.

So Swarm is raising 21,500 BTC to develop a platform that allows the creation of new coins?

Am I missing something here?
566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Did you think Dogecoin will be the next bitcoin? on: June 11, 2014, 07:32:17 PM
No - Dogecoin was and is a joke coin.

Though for a joke coin it did pretty well for a while there I must admit.  Cheesy

567  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official TerraHash refund request thread on: June 11, 2014, 04:48:12 PM
Did anyone successfully get a refund from Terrahash?

Or did they just walk away with everyone's money / btc scot free??
568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner on: June 11, 2014, 04:42:24 PM
I find the fact that Alpha are not making any effort to reassure people in recent days that everything is on track is highly worrying.

If they are confident why not relay this to buyers who are deciding whether or not to make their final payment?

If they are not confident, then they are just making things worse by not disclosing the fact.

Why would they disclose that Drexel will not give them any chips if they don't remit the rest of the payment for the development.

This is why successful ASIC development companies either self fund or offer full payment preorders with NO refund.  Alpha screwed themselves because they took only 30% down AND offered refunds.  That means that customers could opt out.  It was great at first when they were the only fly by night operation in scrypt asics but now a whole batch of them appeared with better numbers and now people are walking away from their orders.  That is not what AT expected.  They thought we will pay for development by milestones.  So they only took enough to secure development at Drexel.  Probably just 25 to 30%.  They figured a fat profit margin on units so 30% down was way more than was needed to fun the first and maybe even second milestone.  But now they are up shits creek because to complete the order and get delivery of chips they need to remit the rest of the funds.  That is why AT announced they have not received chips but require everyone to pay the remaining 70%.

Sure they have all the cases, sure they probably have PSUs and are ready to start assembly and shipping but without chips those boxes are worthless.  Because it only takes a few people to not fund their remaining 70%  nobody is going to get hardware.

AT will probably try to hook some customers who walked away by adding some more hashing power to the vipers, or try to pad the deal with a discount on the remaining 70% but if only a few people walk away everyone loses.  Better get a lawyer before the accounts start playing the shell games with the AT money.  After all that is the only thing they are good at... moving money around.

Starting to sound a bit like the Terrahash fiasco. In that they may have purchased many of the components but cannot get their hands on chips. This will mean at some point they will not be able to continue providing refunds as they may simply run out of money. Not good...

574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][NEC] Neocoin, an innovative coin (not a copy paste coin) on: June 07, 2014, 05:50:37 PM
My pool gets a lot of orphans, sometimes over 50% with maybe 20 orphan blocks in a row. Some of my miners have reported this is occurring in other pools as well. Block notifications are working correctly on my servers end so looks to be coin related. Any chance of some investigation into this or is NEC dev pretty much dead?

Yes, I am also seeing an unusual amount of orphans.

Bitcoin can be used for a lot more than just holding - no altcoin is even close to being as widely accepted as bitcoin at this stage.
