561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Locking Heavily Premined Coin Threads? on: December 27, 2013, 03:40:37 PM
Do you think staff should lock all heavily premined coin threads in order to protect new members from being scammed?

It just seems a little unfair that you get scammers on here with heavily premined coins, and new members come along and put hard cash into buying these new coins thinking they are getting a bargain. Next thing you know the coin is dead and all their money is gone. That sort of thing will put you off ever using cryptocurrencies again (if you are new to the whole thing, which 99% of people are).

Can we stop bumping this and move on? It's a scam coin. Honestly. Staff should lock all threads that are premined coins to prevent their new members being scammed, especially those of you that put in hard cash.

If you have that much then why not buy some basic computers and high powered graphics cards and mine all the new coins?

If you only want to spend the money then I would spread it out over several coins. It's good not to put all your eggs in one basket. Who knows who will make it. The only coin I can see doing ok in a few years from now would be Peercoin. There are many other coins that look good, but who know if they will be one of the alt coin winners in the current war.

lol, fail. I had a go at making a coin and the quality seems way off and the logo just doesn't seem to fit in my opinion...

I can't do graphic design as you can tell but I though i'd have a go anyway to try and get the ball rolling. Is there anyone here who can actually do graphic design? I'm not sure about the current logo. It would be nice to have a symbol logo in my opinion like $/£/BTC/¥ etc

Good trader. I sent full Bitcoin amount first and he followed up with immediate Xivra funds. Trusted.

I sometimes trade in new coins that are not yet sold on any exchange websites.

This thread will help my buyers and sellers prove my legitimacy. I think a good 2-3 pages of positive feedback should be good enough to show I am not a scammer, added to the fact I have been here since early 2011 with no problems from staff or any members.

Ah, it's not transparent Sad. Do you have the transparent version? or even the original photoshop file? Smiley. If not then no worries, but it's impossible to work with that as it has a solid white background.

The client has build in language files for the whole client but something's don't make sense in a few languages and refer to "xxxx coin" and not Xivra as I was told.

Currently I have updated the Chinese language file and will update the Russian, German, Dutch in the upcoming days.

As for legitimate ..  honestly I don't know, but I have been contacted through pm and by email by several Chinese persons (who are way longer members then tomason) .

Although I do not know what the outcome of this will be, it is the reason I worked on the Chinese language first.

Thanks for the reply. I'm an idiot, I didn't know you could change the interface language for the qt wallets! Tongue.
Well then would it be difficult to set Mandarin as default upon download (if you get what i'm trying to say)? If you are Chinese and don't speak English then you won't be able to go to setting > options > change language etc, because you can't read English.

It would be nice to have a default Chinese version with a Chinese splash screen and for someone who speaks it as their first language to post a thread with an explanation and the download in the Chinese section, and on other Chinese virtual currency websites. The same applies to India as there is a growing market there that will likely count towards a large part of the digital currency market.

Thanks for the work so far Axio and everyone involved.

Also, do you have a png file for the logo used on the wallet?

Tomorrow Dec.27th a new client (version 0.8.6.2) will be released . This update is highly recommended although the new version is not mandatory.
With this update of the source and client I consider Xivra ready for an exchange. Of course a new website is in the making to make it more attractive for new and existing users.

Changes : New pnSeed added, Checkpoints and CheckpointData updated, dnsseed added, credits towards litecoin updated, splash screen updated, minor changes where client relates to bitcoin/litecoin. Chinese language files updated on request for Chinese promotion.

Releases : Windows QT and command line client, Linux QT client, Mac OS 10.5+ QT client.

Since there will be a promotion of Xivra in China there will be also a release of a separate Chinese client, identical as the normal client but an updated Chinese splash screen when client loads.

Much needed I feel. We should have 3 clients to start with in my opinion. One in English which we already have, one entirely in Mandarin, and one entirely in Hindi (not just the splash screen). This would be easy to modify/change the text in the qt for anyone who spoke these languages. If anyone speaks these languages then please post the translations as we can go ahead and edit the qt and post another version up. Also if someone doesn't mind spending money you can hire a translator on fiverr.com for $5 who could translate the basic words.

Dear Mr.Axio,

-snip-

Is this legitimate? Did you speak to this person Axio or are they just trying to pump the coin? Smiley.

I take it the staff here don't care about their members being ripped off..

If it's not a scam then why not do this through staff? Do you expect anyone to send a random member with a few posts, thousands of coins?

Anyone fancy drawing up a logo? I would but i'm terrible at graphic design. I'll maybe try one tomorrow.

How is this coin fairing now? I remember spending hours on release to mine absolutely nothing, has anything changed?
574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XIV] Xivra launches at 20:00 CET Dec. 18th on: December 22, 2013, 10:22:13 PM
Yeah I have noticed after mining it take around 12 hours to be confirmed. It should show up as unconfirmed in your pool though, what pool are you using? I have been using cipherpool with no problems.

Also, still looking to buy in case there is anyone here with a folding farm looking to sell a load.

Will pay 0.002 btc per 10k. I think it's a good price at this stage.

The dev's really need to provide valid links to -qt and stuff. someone posted a dropbox link, which is seemingly very gracious, other than the paranoia which prevents me from being to......handy, I hope that the dev team is serious about trying to make this coin a valid release.

You can't put everything on the dev you know. It's a community coin so if you want something done then do it yourself. If we all work together then we can do something, if you want the original creator to work for you when they have an equal share in coins, or perhaps even less then that is a terrible attitude to have. This isn't a company and you are not a share holder, lol.

Chill guys, the premine is going to be used for the coin's promotion.

Wow, people still fall for this? lmao.

It's a scam coin mate. Glad to see some people are waking up to these. Pre-mine is never, ever a good thing.
580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the story of EarthCoin? on: December 22, 2013, 04:32:27 AM
It is so blatantly a dump scheme. How can some of you not see this? They pre-mined 2% of all coins that could ever exist with this currency...
