I noticed that in this thread many posters are writing off Kohli in ODI but IMO he's a GOAT in this format. In modern cricket, no one comes close to him so I'll bet on him without any doubt.

I would rather say that Kohli was a GOAT. Look at his stats for the recent matches. For the year 2022, his batting average stands at 18.90 (189 runs from 10 innings). The last time he had a batting average of more than 50.00 was in 2019. Now let's look at the T20Is. His batting average is good, but the same can't be said about his strike rate. For the last two years, his strike rate has remained below 140.00. Now compare this with someone like Suryakumar Yadav, who is having a T20I career strike rate of 180.97.
His playing style is entirely different from that of Surya, Kohli's responsibility is to anchor the innings till the end which he always does and the average speaks of it. Surya's responsibility is to provide the pace which he does. Also we all know Kohli was in a bad form before the Asia Cup and he hasn't played a lot of ODIs after that. There are always highs and lows in careers of players see Sachin's career during 2004-2008, but he did comeback and so did Kohli. Moreover if you see all over the all formats there is not a batsmen who can come close to that in all three formats.

PS: GOAT means "all time", you can't see recent stats to declare someone's not a GOAT anymore.

Interesting statistics, especially on the layoffs, there is absolutely zero buzz about so many employees being laid off by these big exchanges, reasons are obvious, these are hired in bullish times when volumes on exchanges are high and therefore the work is too much as well, infact most of them are on bench as exchanges are earning good, once the earnings of exchanges go down and the quantum of work goes down these staffs are laid off.
563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Create wealth first before the use of bitcoin on: December 09, 2022, 04:58:37 PM
I have always come across people giving stories to promote bitcoin or give awareness of bitcoin in rural areas. It is a very nice job to tell people about bitcoin because it is the major currency in the world.  In this rural area how can bitcoin be used when majority of people in the the town are battling with poverty,  and how can bitcoin be used when majority don't have access to Internet.  I think people in rural area needs to be financially stable first before knowing bitcoin.
Why so? Why can't both things go side by side and hand in hand? I mean people are under poverty even when they are using fiat instead of Bitcoins. They can be the same and use bitcoin. I think a better preposition instead is to teach them ways on how to earn bitcoins or introduce them to other currencies as well. You also have to accept the fact that not everyone will become financially stable, there will always be a few people who will be unstable due to some or the other reasons.
564  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Long term Crypto winning strategies on: December 09, 2022, 08:03:32 AM
Dear All

There are two bodies in crypto, Traders, and investors. Today's topic is for investors. Specially very longterm investors. There are investing strategies for everyone. Share your ones.

Most common and sometimes I adhere

Collect BTC  at Deep Dips. (recently FTX collapsed)

Collect potential Alts Bear market.

so lets share your belives on strategies.
These very long term traders are generally just the big FIIs who have access to information which retail folks don't. These people generally just create groups of their own and manipulate the market to buy at the deeps and accumulate during bear markets. And they know how to pump the markets as well. Moreover the main thing is that they work in an ecosystem of media, social media, bankers etc. And all of them work as per their directions and help them in creating the wind that they want to about the market.
565  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading and investing, and still very broke.why? Is it spiritual? on: December 08, 2022, 08:16:38 PM
I sit-down to wonder why traders who are consistent in trading and also investing still remain very broke despite the effort they put to erradicating poverty, but it still seems like there is some sort of unforseen and spiritual forces controlling the physical.Or should it be foundational curse from the forefathers affecting the present circumstances?or is it that the poverty is inherited? Or is it a gene or chromosome?.These are questions that that I tend to ask.
Haha, I don't want to make fun of anyone but your question in itself is very funny. First of all investing cannot eradicate poverty and not even Trading can do that because for both things you require some basic investment from your own pocket to put in to earn well. Which obviously poverty sicken person can never properly do. So basically you are choosing the wrong way out to eradicate poverty, secondly, a simple way to eradicate poverty at least at the start is to look for a secure job. Give yourself some time to make a sort of emergency fund and basic capital for trading and then get into the trading business. Trading is just like a business only a few become profitable and rest will always be in losses and lose their initial capital as well.
566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: December 08, 2022, 08:09:22 PM
Bangladesh is showing a different picture of playing in their own ground. They have repeatedly beaten strong cricket teams like India in ODI matches.  Miraz and Mahmudullah are the keys to win the 2nd ODI for Bangladesh Against India . Both of them played very well and both of them scored 177 runs . Which gives Bangladesh another opportunity to beat India in 2nd  ODI match
Not only just this time they are playing good at their home ground I saw their previous match on their home play ground and what I've seen is that they've consistently done well in those matches except some few match. And I think with that consistency they were able to beat India and take the series in their favour. I also thought that they also hold the ability to win 3rd ODI  and make whitewash India.
I saw statistics in the match which showed that Bangladesh are actually the best-performing team on their home ground and they have outperformed all the other top teams in this. It's quite strange how a team performs so well on their home pitches and suddenly don't perform that well on foreign pitches may it be on the sub-continent pitches which are pretty same to their own pitches only. Maybe it's the factor of the support they get which keeps them going in these matches. Whatever it is this is actually a great defeat for India this time. Getting beaten by Bangladesh is embarrassing that also when you are sending your A-teams for foreign tours and they still manage to win but your Tier-1 team lost here.
567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks do not want bitcoin to become popular on: December 08, 2022, 08:02:13 PM
I came across this news on CNBC where standard chartered bank claims that bitcoin will reach 5000$. Being a bank, this can be their wish and not a reality. Banks do not want bitcoin to become popular and therefore they spread this negative information so people panic sell and do not adopt bitcoin.  Sad

A pro Tip: when you see banks and news channels predicting such things and putting it open right in the media and news, it's time to fill your bags because the bull run is about to begin. Basically these people have also filled their bags and are now spreading this news to make sure they can fill even more at lower values. It's always like this you see positive news from banks when bitcoin is at the top and absolute negative news when it's at the bottom and both of these are equally alarming as they mean that tables are about to turn now.
568  Economy / Economics / Re: From grace to grass:Reasons why a Well to do investor turned a nobody. on: December 08, 2022, 07:59:54 PM
So many times we see people who were financially bouyant and stable reduced to nothing in the society,is it because they failed to strategise well?or could it be that they no longer put in the much effort they put before that got them to the level they were?what can actually be the cause of the downfall of someone who was already stable financially?
I think 80% of these people lose it because of their stupidity and the rest 20% lose it because of their luck. Imagine if you are someone who just moved his savings to FTX to exchange some into some coin that you think will do good and the next moment you see FTX withdrawals getting stuck and going into bankruptcy. What can you say to someone who is in this situation? He didn't do anything wrong at all. He just wanted to move his coins to some other coins and then take them back to private keys, these type of people will fall in the luck category, rest 80% do things like buying shitcoins or NFTs which ultimately lose their values, basically making wrong investment choices.
569  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Im looking For good signals channels on: December 04, 2022, 08:06:01 PM
Im looking For good signals providers.
And Im ready to pay as long AS good signals.
Where Are those ?
Blockchain USA is good channel but recently not active.
When coin moves huge % then crypto could be full time income provider not just making income living but gives everyday enough money to live well.

I dont need your advice how dangerous those channels or groups are i know myself just Im looking For good pmpp channels. Yes they maybe buy b4 then give out signal i don't Care about that i'll make quick in quick out its still worth more then waiting like fool when btc start doing something Im here to make a lot money as possible with crypto dont really want to waste my days waiting for btc start doing something.

So tell me If you know any those Im looking For payed ones so i can be sure i get good one.tnx
There are no good channels Trust me, a lot of them might help you make some money in the short term but eventually you'll see them posting results but actually you are never  making money. These channels won't provide you with right signals at the right time and also they won't provide you with any guidance on risk management and position size management, you'll never be able to make Money until you learn these 2 arts as well.
570  Economy / Economics / Re: The U.S. Needs More Housing Than Almost Anyone Can Imagine on: December 04, 2022, 07:43:59 PM
Another problem i recently heard is that not only the buying a house is difficult in the states, renting a house in major cities is an equally challenge task, they ask that you should earn atleast 20-30 times of your Rental amount to be able to just rent the flat. Also the rental norms are so rigid that if you parents become your surety he'll have to earn double of what is the requirements for you. Which means not only buying a house but renting a house in the states is equally challenging.
571  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: December 04, 2022, 07:39:28 PM
Bangladesh won the match today with a lot of difficulty. I thought at the beginning of the game that Bangladesh will win the match very easily. But later I saw that Bangladesh lost 9 wickets and they were completely under pressure. But in the match, India played a great ball at the end. Bangladesh's batting.  The team was under a lot of pressure. But in the end, Bengal won. I enjoyed the game very much.
I am not agreed with you that Bangladesh won this match with a lot of difficulty because they have done amazing job specially Mahdi and Rahman both done historic job for their country within just 6 overs because after 39 overs Bangladesh were 136 for 9, and I was out of my room with Indian win but after 45 minutes few friends were come with sad faces because they lost big amount, and they were not expecting things like these 51 run partnership completely shattered Indian dreams by 1 wicket and take 1 - 0 lead in this series which is not going to be more interesting in coming matches.

Kohli again after having good time in twenty/20 matches back on poor run, hopefully selectors will think about this and give any other youngster chance for having good practice because now giving chances again and again to Kohli is not fair specially while you have a long list of quality replacements.
I think it was obviously not an easy win for Bangladesh but yes it was well deserved for sure. I think if you see the final scores, you'll see the few lapses that were done by India, if they would not have been done the story of the match would have been entirely different, I also think that one factor here could be the change of format, the main team is coming to play ODIs after a very long time maybe this could have been an issue for them as well. But yes now series will be interesting to watch.
572  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 15M BTC goes into self custody on: December 04, 2022, 07:32:47 PM
according to Glassnode on-chain data analyzed by Cryptoslate, leaving less than 22% of all mined BTC moving around and exchanging hands.

These indicators show that investors are starting to withdraw their digital assets away from the exchanges, whether using wallets or other methods.
Indices measure the movement of currencies as a function of whether the transaction is in cold storage or in a hot wallet.

Quote
Think of illiquidity as the point when Bitcoin moves to a wallet that shows no spending history, while liquidity is when BTC moves to wallets that have a history of spending such as hot wallets and exchanges.

Quote
The chart above demonstrates the amount of highly liquid and liquid BTC assets and shows the figures are currently 3 million and 1.3 million coins respectively. The data is clear that both liquid and highly liquid supply have been trending downwards amidst the current market turmoil

Is everyone beginning to understand Not your Keys, Not your coins , or is it temporary because of FTX?
Excellent infographics and I think these really actually depict what you are saying. This seriously means that people are taking things seriously and they are doing what actually they should have done from very start. Moreover obviously with the world's second biggest exchange going bankrupt like this it's obvious your trust on such systems goes very down. But yes you are eight it can be temporary as well because people really forget these things in long term when they see ease.
573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important is BTC to the Society? on: December 03, 2022, 10:27:48 PM
Have be thinking about the importance of cryptocurrency, especially BTC in our society today and the nearest future. And how is going to improve the Society especially our environment and economic.
Except for the fact that we will have more control over our money and probably the additional financial transparency, I don't see a lot of improvements happening in the society. Money will still be money and all social factors of the society are still going to remain same, only that cross border payments will become easier and biggest advantage that financial transparency will reach an altogether new level never seen by anyone so far.
574  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: December 03, 2022, 10:24:14 PM
India Pakistan politics and tension always comes in their cricket and that's why their matches are more like a cricket war . Why can't cricket be separated from politics and other tensions ?   How much players get affected by these extra tensions?
Now ICC should strictly deal this matter of Asia Cup and world cup and shouldnot come under pressure of any cricket board.
These all tension between these two countries is nothing new because it's all happening from the first day of Independence and in last three decades it's all having the biggest impact on cricket because in India recently we have big hype about cricket specially after introduction of IPL they are rich and having strong influence in ICC which is giving them good advantage and this is surely not favourable for the game of cricket because here if ICC use their power like we have in FIFA, FIH and other spots organizations, and they can ban these two countries from hosting these big events until they settle their problem and start playing like normal countries.

But ICC is really a crap, and they are not doing any positive thing for the game which is now creating more mess up which could be ended in negative for the game in near future.

As far as I am concerned, I believe the ICC is not doing a good job handling things as they should. They are obviously not interested in interfering in this matter between India and Pakistan. And another thing is that it almost always feels like ICC is in favour of India.

However, even if ICC does not intend that to happen, people will feel that way. Because ICC is obviously not doing anything to fix any problem for Pakistan. And India also makes the most money for the ICC as well.

So at this point, the intention of the ICC or BCCI does not matter. Because people are always seeking to implement weird theories and try to make it look like the ICC is favouring India in a lot of cases. I am neither agreeing nor denying that the ICC helps India. I am just saying that the ICC should try to keep that field event for everyone.

regards

duke
I think it's obvious that ICC is favouring India by being silent on the issue. But I would rather say that the problem between both countries isn't just limited to cricket boards, these directions are coming directly from the top government officials and have sovereign backing. It's not that BCCI woke up one day and decided on this. So I think even if ICC steps in, i don't see a lot of chances that this issue might get resolved.
575  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The patience to hold is a gift on: December 03, 2022, 10:20:37 PM
To hold especially for an average investor is a strong contention to deal with. Over and again we hear the echo of hold from every where around the crypto industry. Long term will always pay big someday but for the investors who have nothing to spare their investment could be tempting. The urge to withdraw will always come. Sometimes not for pleasure but to solve pressing needs.

If the bull run ever start again do you think it will be massive for small and medium investors. I mean those who start up their Bitcoin holding investment with an amount as low as $100. I have been trapped  having conversations involving Bitcoin investment and the major concerns of this folks has been how much their ROI will be if the invest. How long will it take for the bull run to resume and lots of many complicated questions. If I don't like overhyped discussions so I just tell them it is far better compared to having their money saved in the bank for 1 year doing nothing I do this to avoid been held by my words if things goes wrong.

Recommending someone to invest in Bitcoin is some how risky. If the don't have the patience to wait for the bull season to commence the might sell at a loss and but the blame on the introducer. And many likes attributing their failures to someone then their success to their personal effort. I have learnt from past experience that before I recommend Bitcoin to a newbie I will first ask how long the can hold for and that will determine if I will be willing to proceed with guidance or end it there.

Really very true. Patience to hold is the most important thing if you are in for safeguarding your money. Otherwise all you'll be doing is selling at the wrong times and buying at the exact top when it's actually time to sell. But the sad part is that this patience only gets developed with time. You cannot expect a new investor to be patient right from start, he'll go through many losses until he becomes this patient.
576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A single alt coin which gives you profit multiple times? on: December 02, 2022, 08:06:26 PM
For me AVAX (avalanche) Is the coin i got good profit in this coin by investing 5 times.

First two times i got huge profits.
But after that not huge but that was also the good profit by holding same coin.

Kcs is one of them. it's quite ironic but it's the one which has actually given me profit in the bull run. I remember it rallied from around 3$ to around 20$ during the bull run almost making my money to 10x and i also remember that then I used to trade this very coin only for next 6 months because it became my favourite but eventually the volumes on this coin dried up so I stopped to trade on this altogether.
577  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why We People Cannot Think Like Whales 🐋 whale 🐳? on: December 02, 2022, 05:50:40 PM
First of all many members will roast me and will say that where you got such idea, why are you bluffing but this is Bitcoin discussion, so I thought that I should share something.

1) Many Of Small traders always got into the Trap of Whales? Why?

2) There are Always Ponzi Schemes in All Bull runs like 2027 was ICO big Scam
And Now BIG crypto projects Got scammed in 2022 like Terra Luna, FTX, Solana, Serum etc. They are not just coincidence. These are preplanned Scams. And that. Sucks.
3) I think that Big Exchanges that are centralized are Big whales cause they know how much volume they have and how many longs and also Shorts. In this way they can Scam with many many wats. And also that is a small reason that we cannot outsmart Whales 🐋🐳.

One cannot think like whales because whales Don't do rational things. Like expecting btc to hit bottom after a bull run is rational but expecting that such a big exchange will go insolvent is not rational or thinking that such a big Cryptocurrency will see it's very basic concept flawed is not rational. These all might be planned but normal retail investors can't think of these and everytime it's an entirely new thing that they do. So I think one can only think like them if one becomes one of them.
578  Economy / Economics / Re: Can A Redesign of A Countries Currency Note Improve Its Economy? on: December 02, 2022, 05:46:19 PM
In recent news, it is the plan of the Nigerian government to redesign its currency notes. I don't know why such a project at this time is even mentioned, because other worst case scenarios that require redesign is left abandoned or nearly abandoned in total.
My thoughts is on how such a government at these time of flooding and inflation would think that by redesign the currency, such issue will be the remedy to the countries huge debt margin or natural disaster ongoing.
Do you think the effect of redesigning the nations currency note will be of benefit to the economy and nation at large?
Let's discuss!

https://nairametrics.com/2022/10/26/cbn-redesign-naira-notes/
It's like will repainting my house to blue colour safeguard it from Earthquake? Cheesy it's nothing but a remedy designed to disguise the common folks that things will b alright if we do this so we should definitely try this. Nothing other than that. It's more like making people stupid by taking their attention away from the main problem and a lot of governments have been doing this lately.
579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ponzi scheme scammer uses BTC to cover tracks on: December 02, 2022, 05:43:43 PM
I work in healthcare and one of my patients offered an investment opportunity to me.
Leaving any amount of money higher than 100 bucks untouched for 9 months, would result in a 600% return on investment.
Of course this is fraud, but I had to figure it out. It is a pyramid system in which withdrawals of people at the top, are funded by money from new "investors" at the bottom of the pyramid. My patient had made 2 previous withdrawals with success ($2500 profit and $9000 profit), and has now invested $10 000 expecting 60 000 in a few months.

When no new money enters the system, the bottom line of the pyramid loses their money and the creator of the scam takes it all.
The scammer asks to get paid in BTC, not in fiat currency.

Can his BTC address somehow lead to an arrest?
Ponzi schemes don't last long. And historically these people are arrested because the source of the money is easily identified.
Now with BTC I think it is much harder to identify the scammer and to stop the scheme. I think it's harder for any government to prove that there is a Ponzi scheme in the first place

It's difficult but possible. I mean if it's a pyramid scheme then eventually the root account can be identified based on the first transaction made to that wallet and that wallet might have had some fiat withdrawal or some sort of deposit which would have had KYC. I mean it's difficult and is more like searching in the dark but it's not entirely impossible if you ask me. With sophisticated computers this shouldn't be a long task but yes if he erases his websites and user databases then it will become very tricky.
580  Local / India / Re: is cryptocurrency being used to radicalize youth? on: December 01, 2022, 08:23:51 PM
according to our honorable hm it is..  Roll Eyes

read this: https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/use-of-cryptocurrency-virtual-assets-new-ways-to-radicalise-youth-amit-shah/articleshow/95600638.cms

i wonder something though, bitcoin was launched in 2009, right?

was there no terrorism before that?

why is it that crypto gets blamed for any and all bad doings now a days?
What else can you expect from people who are never went to real school and neither do they have knowledge of any ongoing affairs. All they know is how to fool people to garner votes and come to power. I agree it's convenient for terorists to transact in crypto as they have less chance to get caught but eventually to get real money they have to sell it in fiat, where you can still find them. Along with this anything these days which is non right wing seems to radicalize the youth of this country.

yes, this is exactly what i think.

even if ur able to transfer millions of dollars worldwide without anyone knowing.

the moment u go to convert it to fiat u will get caught, if u acquired the crypto with illegal means ie..

other than that crypto is just a cheap mode of payment without depending on third parties who charge a lot of money to transfer funds overseas.

the real problem is banks/financial-institutions who aid these criminals in washing their money.

like that lady in dubai? i think.. who bought a bank and then laundered millions of dollars.

but still they see no problem with the banks because it is a part of their corrupt system.
Banks obviously can't be a problem because they are their extended arms into the people's pockets, they use banks to put or take away as much money as they want from the system thus controlling the system in the way they want. Also with stringent KYC, SFT norms, etc. banks are almost obliged to share each and every things that happened in a customer's account if requested by any of the government's departments. Cryptos on the other hand don't give them this luxury, this is why they have even brought their own version of it.
