561  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is done! Now this is what we are left with! on: July 14, 2023, 08:44:37 PM
This thought came to my mind today.

What if there's this news that says "Bitcoin mining is over. All the Bitcoin has been mined and all the leftovers are burned. We are left with what we have in our hand"?

If I ever come across any news like this I would be very surprised because Bitcoin is a Decentralized ecosystem and not under the control of anyone, so my question would go like this.  Who made that order or who made that happen to bring out the end of Bitcoin mining. And who would go ahead to burn the left overs, this happens mostly on project that is in the control of their team.

Infact this imagination or perspective is not possible so there is no need to.worry over it .
562  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: FG plans to give 8K to poor households. on: July 14, 2023, 07:43:49 PM
The federal government plans to use 500,000,000 billion naira to give people 8,000 naira as a one time payment, I think this is a very unthoughtful move and it shows the government has a shallow mindset for Nigeria and Nigerians.

Currently in the country 8000 naira is practically useless due to the bad economy and harsh recession the country finds itself in, I think rather we use the money to see how to make use of out natural resources and try as much as possible to be a producing country rather than a consuming country.
563  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you ever been scammed ? on: July 14, 2023, 06:48:57 PM
Getting scammed is not the end of the world in my opinion, because anyone can get scammed even the smartest crypto-currency enthusiast can get scammed, but the problem is that when you get scammed you should always learn from your mistakes and work on it. Where is would have an issues is when someone who got scammed repeat the same mistakes again and get scammed as a result of it.

As newbies you should focus more on this topic scam because it's one big problem we have here in the crypto world and we need to also try to protect ourselves against it.
564  Economy / Exchanges / Re: LocalBitcoins asking to verify account on: July 14, 2023, 06:20:05 PM
Even if you think it looks real and the message came from the original local Bitcoin address there are still chances of risks involved in it, hackers and scammers can actually tap into the server or even hack the email addresses for platforms like this and then use it to send phishing links to their customers.

I think you should be very careful about it and verify from you account without clicking the link sent to you from your email it's best to take the appropriate precautions
565  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympic Games, but doping is allowed?! on: July 13, 2023, 08:56:05 PM
I think who ever wants to go ahead with this should first get the decency to remove the name Olympic from their program, as an athlete your biggest joy is that you can work so hard and try to become the best at what you do ad not just taking the easy road with is doping

Also the program may have attention for the wrong reasons because it's easy for athletes or anyone else to die of doping overdose, so I do think this program to go on it would be a downgrade to the natural sporting competition we have grown to see.
566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: wBTC and BTC on: July 13, 2023, 08:20:16 PM
The point is, i didn't knew that WBTC was altcoin, I am being honest here. So, dear OP i have suggestion that you should then stick to the WBTC.
Now that you know Wrapped Bitcoin is fake and not Bitcoin, so it can be depegged and the people holding it will lose their real Bitcoins they deposited to receive Wrappped Bitcoins, why then should OP stick with them? There are enough good wallets to store Bitcoins, and if one wants to use a different blockchain, they should use their native tokens/coins and not risk their Bitcoins by wrapping it to become compatible.
What's the reason for anyone to get wrapped Bitcoin in the first place, I don't believe in that and also other Bitcoin fork s. It's risky, and definitely not Bitcoin, personally I don't see the reason why anyone would want a different Blockchain than the one available, everything about Bitcoin has been serving me properly and I don't have anything to look for things that has the name Bitcoin attached to them but not Bitcoin itself
567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thank you Bitcoin on: July 13, 2023, 07:43:14 PM
Well we are still learning everyday and if Someone has not yet told you, you can actually post Bitcoin related topics on the rightful Bitcoin discussion board, regardless you already here and it's not much of a big deal since you still developing.

Also we all have personal stories about Bitcoin, but some people have bad stories like the guy who sold his 10,000 BTC for a box of Pizza, so I think it's about your understanding if Bitcoin that can change how it affects your life and not Bitcoin just affecting your life regardless of your attitude, if things are put this way then we won't be having much cases of scams, lost Bitcoin and so on.
568  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: I don reach the final decision on: July 13, 2023, 07:18:28 PM
Good decision my brother it's better late than never, well to encourage you there have been members like you who had once been a bounty, hunter, spammer and something no one with positive mindset for the forum would be proud of, but guess what they succeeded in turning their story around and changing their ways, a good example is Ddmr Ddmr, according to him he used to be a bounty spammer but now he is amongst the top members of the forum.

I believe it's a good step for you and even though it takes time for you to actually see the results it would definitely show up.
569  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest in Marketing on: July 13, 2023, 06:37:42 PM
Marketing is one of the good strategy to lure people to buy your products or goods and services in the public domain. According to and economics expert, if a company advertised a product with a flayers and the total number of the flayers are 5,000, out of this 5,000 flayers, the customers that will turn up might be only 5 or 10 and the company should not stop the advertisement because f people turn up, indicates that more people will come in the next advertisement. So continue marketing your products online and offline.
I believe marketing is very important and marketing has actually helped lots of project achieve their goals and Target, that's what many companies and even Crypto-currency project are taking the opportunities they can get from marketing.

But don't be deceived marketing can just help a product get audience of large amount of people but before you can convince people to believe in what you are selling your product needs to actually be one of good quality.
570  Economy / Economics / Re: The new U.S.-China agreement is a "forced friendship. What awaits the world ? on: July 13, 2023, 06:04:34 AM

There are two questions:
1. Which country has become a bargaining chip?
2. What does the world expect in terms of economics ?
3. Joke question: Don't you think that the capital of the country of the "bargaining chip" begins with the letter "M" ? Smiley
Firstly I think we are trying so hard to see something that is actually not there and it's actually very crazy. I don't think there is any bad blood between China and the United States of America but also I won't say they are friends, I would rather consider it a relationship that is now built on respect, they understand their strength and would do anything to avoid a war between them.

Question 1. There in none it's just a figment of people's imagination.

Question 2. Well if they move further than just mutual respect and actually work together I think the world economy would improve but it would give US and China great power over other countries .

Question 3. Still doesn't exist and we should try to see things from other perspective .
571  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin mining terminology and facts on: July 12, 2023, 07:23:24 PM
I am still searching for the fact in all of this? I think you should try to do more research about Bitcoin mining terminology and fact or better still about Bitcoin in general.

I think you still a newbie and you haven't yet understood the terminology yourself, I think you should take a break from lecturing and first start to build up your own knowledge and after that you can definitely do this sort of post but you would be doing it kore effectively.
572  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How I waste bitcoin on: July 12, 2023, 06:40:47 PM
Well firstly I think you should try to convert N100k into a more familiar currency like the US dollar, I think the N in the 100k stands for naira. This would be about $130 with the current market rate, well since this is about Bitcoin in the year 2011 I think you would still be good for yourself.

Well I think you friend did not do a complete job in telling you about Bitcoin, I have always advice that when introducing Bitcoin to newbies always try to tell them more about Bitcoin, how to protect themselves, the advantages and disadvantages of Bitcoin.
573  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: See Binance laughable tweet, but deceiving newbies on: July 12, 2023, 05:31:36 PM
Well if freedom is what binance aim to achieve all this while then for six years they have been successful at doing just the opposite of what they set out to achieve. The truth is that centralized exchange can achieve financial freedom for anyone, because they demand their customers to provide identification their by making centralized exchange a platform that doesn't support anonymity or privacy.
574  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why Crypto may go wrong for some people on: July 11, 2023, 08:41:30 PM
Well the truth is that crypto-currency is volatile and just because a coin has dropped in value doesn't mean all has gone wrong on that coin, being a long term holder is actually a good option it can help you understand the coin you holding better and help you make the better decisions.

But honestly what I do I try to focus more on Bitcoin, it's my favorite coin because there is a huge sense of positivity from Bitcoin that can't be gotten from altcoins. It has the largest market cap and it's widely used.
575  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost bitcoins on: July 09, 2023, 09:11:39 PM
Why should you rejoice over someone losing access to their Bitcoin, I think it's rather sad seeing that event happening and how can Bitcoin which can't be accessed be considered lost, I don't know so much about this logic on exchanges but if you have a private wallet and you can't get to it then I believe it's lost for good.

There are people who hasn't had access to their Bitcoin for years but when they check the address of the wallet they still see the amount of Bitcoin they own
576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My personal savings now I will invest in Bitcoin on: July 09, 2023, 06:54:13 PM
Firstly do you have another source of income apart from the work you said you have in the back which is $30 per year, because I find it hard to believe you get paid that amount and it amounted up to $1800 which means you successfully save all your earning from you job for five years.

I would really want more clarity before I can throw in my advice, if you had other things that sustain your living as it has for five years then I think you can put your saving in Bitcoin, but the choice is yours and you should know the market is volatile and can drop and rise but I am confident in the future of Bitcoin.
577  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What term to use? Halving or Halvening? Term history on: July 09, 2023, 06:35:19 PM
There are things called terminology, sometimes they do not fall in same connection with the English words or mean the same thing someone who isn't in that field understand as. We can see terminology in coding, military services and of course in Crypto-currency, that's why as a newbie your understanding about crypto terminology is very important as not to be lost.

Here is a helpful post on terminology.
578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodling Bitcoin on: July 09, 2023, 05:43:19 PM
However I did some research and discovered most forum members do a lot of Bitcoin transaction, and sometimes leaves them with little or no hodlings in their wallets. Of course Some on the other hand have most of their Bitcoins as hodlings in their wallets  although they still transact with Bitcoins .
Though hodling Bitcoins can be tempting to transact with sometimes
How did you manage to do this type of research, going by the number of members on the forum it would be extremely hard for you to carry out this research and then give your statistics on it, regardless your can never have an accurate results because an individual can have as many Bitcoin wallet as possible and then might only leave the address to one here and never make a transaction from that wallet to the rest of their wallet.

It's a fruitless research and one I think should not even be your business in the first place. People can hold Bitcoin and use it anytime the have a need to it's about the individuals choice. I am a holder doesn't mean if I am in difficult time or want something I can't make use of my Bitcoin.
579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Robert F Kennedy Jr a Bitcoin Holder on: July 09, 2023, 05:31:03 PM
BIT-BENDER holds Bitcoin, how does this sound well ordinary, nothing special right, yes that's how Mr Kennedy owning a Bitcoin is meant to sound, I don't care if he has a first name that's recognized, I don't care if in his case he is known and I am not the fact is that we should start seeing people owning Bitcoin as something not so special, that's how Bitcoin adoption can grow.
580  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I make an anonymous post? on: July 09, 2023, 04:39:55 PM
Firstly is a good thing we don't have such features anymore because I think it would give users the window to make spam post and even worse make post that can lead to a user getting scammed.

But the forum already protects your privacy, you are using a name you assigned for yourself when registering, no one automatically knows your identity except you want them to I think That's good anonymity, the only reason you would not want people to know it's your account when you make a post has a high chance of the intention being a negative one.
