now a reliable supplyer for second hand machines in portugal is overpriced as fu....  like an s17 pro cost 3000 euros wili in china cost 700 USD
Um, welcome to the world of economics? Resellers have to pay for the miner + import taxes/VAT, shipping, etc. + make some money otherwise what's the point? Since you don't live in China that's just how the world works.

Is there any change that I could use psu for s9:or to each of these two miners?
You cannot do that. All modern miners are using integrated PSU's which are directly controlling the Vcore level supplied to establish the string voltage that the chips need. The PSU output is set by the control board and can vary quite a bit depending how you have the miner setup.

Older miners like the s9 used a 2nd stage regulator located on each hash board to take the incoming 12vdc and step it down to the Vcore level they wanted. Losing that 2nd regulator stage is just one reason modern miners are more efficient.

ok but my bad im sorry for that but i also requested some other trusted vendors thats why the post
Can't say I know of any that are Official distributors and as is also true with Bitmain, Innosilicon, and microBT (Whatsminers), you REALLY need to buy ONLY directly from the manufacturer or through any Official distributors that those manufacturers list on their websites.

Why? Primary reason is that the miner warranty is valid only with the entity that 1st purchased it from the manufacturer. It is NOT transferable. That means that when buying from some random 3rd party all warranty service MUST be handled through who you bought it from. That is most likely going to be a big problem... Only the Authorized distributors are allowed to have you directly have you get the miner repaired under Warranty though do still have to start the Warranty process with the distributor 1st to keep the paperwork straight. .
564  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon A851 software on: October 10, 2022, 08:30:54 PM
The old Avalons are very friendly to tweaking. For a start, refer to HaggsFIN setup/repair guide for them located here. Somewhere around there should also be the testing parameters I played around with for the 841's. The commands for all of the Avalon 8xx are the same. I'll try to find those posts for links.

As for running on just 1 side, just connect the power to the 1 side of the miner and it will be happy.
The controller sets the pool you use and all miners connected to a controller will use that pool. The controller cannot run miners on different pools at the same time.

Technically, yes you *can* download and compile Canaans software to run on a PC BUT it is a royal PITA to do so. Far far easier to use Canaan's pre-built software loaded onto a Raspi 3B (not B+ which does not work).
565  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Will there be more efficient mining hardwares? on: October 10, 2022, 05:14:36 PM
... it looks like alt mining is dead right now, look how silent this section have come out to be after the merge...
Er?
This BITCOIN area is as alive as ever. Being dedicated only to BTC topics, anything regarding alt shitcoins are OT here so ja, nothing to be found here for them...

As for the altcoin areas -- folks in this section could care less what happens there.
566  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: is this store safe? on: October 10, 2022, 02:58:01 PM
This has been answered several times over the past few months in different posts so if you would simply take the time to look around this area of the Forum you would find that yes, that is Canaan's official store site...
567  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: The effect of the new U.S sanctions against China on ASIC MINERS. on: October 09, 2022, 02:21:24 AM
Nope.
The aim of the restrictions is primarily to slow down the evolution of China home-grown microprocessor & memory production, both of which have military applications. China has recently finally built a Foundry that can produce chips at what was the 10nm node which is about as far as they can easily go without relying on advanced double-patterning lithography and for that they will have to design & build their own systems and create their own in-country supply chain for all the materials used.

Even them attempting the 7nm node will be one helluva challenge considering that all advanced lithography gear is made by a handful of companies in the West. As for nodes under 7nm which requires using EUV - only 2 companies make it so China is screwed on that.
568  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 90% of bitcoin is owned by 2% of user base on: October 07, 2022, 11:56:58 PM
Considering that over 19million have already been mined I have no doubt that yes, there are some entities that are holding or controlling vast amounts of BTC. Thing is, using terms such as "2% of user base" is meaningless without also stating what the (estimated) size of that user base is.... In other words - it is pure meaningless marketing spin speak that is worded just for shock value.

Even using a ridiculously small user base of say, 1million users, 2% of that means 20,000 users. Not exactly a small number.
Consider there are considerably more than 1 million BTC users, well...  Roll Eyes

I'm not so familiar with braiinsOS logs would you mind switching it back to stock firmware?
Then post the kernel logs here.
..
Also a key missing point is, did you ever run it with the stock FW and if so -- did it work?
If the stock firmware works then this is an issue that is best addressed in the Braiins thread...

No it is never 'ok'. Those who are corrupt should always be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Period.
571  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience has a new stickminer that does 300+GH on: October 07, 2022, 05:06:09 PM
Vcore is set by the regulator on the stick. It has nothing to do with what the stick itself is fed (5v from the hub).
Kinda hard to see in that picture but the flat side of that very tiny pot on the right side of the stick looks to be in the wrong spot. As I recall it is usually lined up with the long side of the stick...

Vcore can be measured on the back side of the stick, opposite where the chip is on the other side.
572  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [Guide] Solo mine testnet bitcoins with bfgminer, Bitcoin Core, and a CPU/GPU on: October 06, 2022, 01:20:15 AM
You really should mention that by design the Testnet coins have ZERO monetary value. Purchase and sale of them is strongly discouraged as Testnet and its coins are for testing software -- not making money... Mining them and holding them is also pretty pointless because the Testnet chain is periodically forked to render previously mined Testnet coins unusable.

After a development project is over it is expected that all Testnet coins mined during testing are to be donated back to the Faucets.
573  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining BTC with gpu on: October 06, 2022, 12:53:41 AM
~snip~
You can still actually get blocks in Bitcoin testnet by solo mining with a GPU as the difficulty resets to 1 after 20 minutes with no new blocks. More details here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5415861.0

do you know why miner dont start?
"it said not warm enough to start mining 25 from 40 degree"
The reported error says it all -- the miner is too cold to start.
The operating parameters of all semiconductors (as in chips) change as their temperature changes and most if not all ASIC-based miners are designed to run best at fairly high temperatures. The end result is that they need to be well, warm, before they will even start their normal warmup routine.

Soooo, 1st question is: What is the ambient temperature where the miner is? Ideally it should be 20c or more. Per the error msg seems they want to be at at least 25c...
575  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Newbie to mining on: October 05, 2022, 02:33:59 PM
Hey,
I saw your instructions so when I open up bfgminer.
For URL I enter: stratum+tcp://btc.f2pool.com:1314
For username I enter: my F2Pool username login (not the worker name)
For password I enter: my F2Pool username password

Is this correct? How does F2Pool know my worker name if I don't assign one? The app is working fine for me in terminal and I can see it is finding new blocks but f2pool doesn't seem to connect to any of it so I'm not getting credit. What do you think is my issue?
For a start, one issue is running bfgminer...
Who's instructions which are located where?

Using bfgminer raises the question of what are you trying to mine with? A GPU?(if so - wrong area as GPU's are beyond useless for mining BTC but can work for some altcoins) Some very very old ASIC-based miner that requires an external controller?

We don't have crystal balls to know what hardware you are using and something like that is rather vital information you need to provide...

Hell your TV at home has ASICs in it…
Even that is still a higher-end and complex product using them. You want real mass-market dedicated uses, think even the simplest 1 button remote controls, interactive toys, ear buds, etc.
577  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 3Ph 600v stped down to 3ph 240v on: October 04, 2022, 02:29:07 PM
You normally only see oil cooled transformers on the Utility side of the power feed where the *possible* fire hazard remains outside of the building and the transformer has to be sealed against the elements as well as handling the multi-kv feed from the Utility. The user side of power distribution is almost exclusively air-cooled dry transformers. Ja they can buzz and definitely get rather hot but that is just the nature of the beasties,
578  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Intel ASIC / Bitmain 19s Pro on: October 04, 2022, 12:25:03 AM
Miner prices have always followed what the majority of the Market is able/willing to pay. In this market (partly thanks to the massive sales of gear to mega-farms) that means Bitmain et al have once again been forced to cut into their previously huge markup to far lower prices. At current pricing they are no doubt still pulling in at least 30 or more % over all in manufacturing & marketing costs but before it was more like well over 100%
579  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Russia to Supply Electricity to Kazakhstan’s Cryptocurrency Miners on: October 03, 2022, 05:21:25 PM
Well, if done properly so it also covers Kaza's non-crypto mining loads it's obviously good for crypto farms there. The main down side is that it of course gives Russia a non-scantionable source of income... The other drawback is that once the power start flowing it makes a large leverage point to make sure Kazakhstan tows the line towards Russia.

Thing is, as I recall many of the farms are/were located far away from Kaza's grid and were using power from local coal-fired plants. They will either have to relocate to where there are ties to the grid or someone needs to run transmissions out to those remote areas...
