561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Synereo, Rchain, Ethereum -- How do they relate on: February 23, 2017, 01:27:06 AM
On paper it is RChain which is the best. But the problem is they is is all theory so far, they are have many amazing features:

- Sub-second block confirmation time? Seems too good to be true.
- Limit of 40.000 - 100.000 transactions per second? I wish to see that in action.

Until I see working blockchain with all these features and upgrades I refuse to believe in their vision. Deliver first.

562  Economy / Speculation / Re: THE DUMP on: February 23, 2017, 01:12:41 AM
Heed the news, gentlemen, there won't be price decline anymore, definitely not before 11 March.
Traders are waiting for SEC approval of the Winklevoss bitcoin ETF COIN, chances are less than 1/3 but even slight hope is enough to keep price high.
Until then no one will liquidate BTC position knowing that soon we could see strong boost to demand for the cryptocurrency.
563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make governments accept bitcoin? on: February 23, 2017, 01:01:55 AM
Yeah, but bitcoin is not anonymous. All transactions with bitcoin are registered. And transfers between addresses can be traced backwards.
States do not want any system they can not get tax.
You can evade tax with cash money as well. Bitcoin is not some holy grail for tax evaders as typical bitcoin's layman may think.
If governments fully legalize and embrace BTC, then it will only help them gain more profits.
Today BTC is kinda in grey area for tax payers, no one is paying any tax, people either don't know if that is needed or just refuse to do so and nobody cares.
564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Going Mainstream Banks Are Disappearing on: February 23, 2017, 12:49:31 AM
Printing thousands of simple 1 page papers explaining Bitcoin and giving to people.
And what will you tell people when they ask why their transaction is still unconfirmed after 10 hours, even when they included 'right' fee?

Currently we have almost 100.000 Unconfirmed Transactions and average number of transactions per second is 2.58 now.

It is not even the limit of bitcoin capabilities, it can process up to 7 transaction per second in ideal conditions.

FYI Paypal can do more than 100 transaction per second. VISA more than 8500.
565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Monero on: February 22, 2017, 12:57:56 AM
Monero is more anonymous than bitcoin, which is only pseudo-anonymous, that is a fact. But do you seriously need more anonymous coin?
It won't be ever pushed to the level of acceptance bitcoin received, not when we are still obliged to follow legal rules and subjugate ourselves to AML/KYC law.
But if you want to use Monero as Dark Market token, yes, it is better than BTC for that purpose.
566  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen 9th march ? on: February 22, 2017, 12:42:56 AM
Can you explain exactly what ETF is ?
ETF is exchange-traded fund in this case we are referring to - Winklevoss Bitcoin Trust COIN.
Normally ETF keeps assets such as stocks, commodities, or bonds (in this case Bitcoin) and trades them.
We all are waiting for 11 March which is the deadline for SEC, they will either give ETF stamp of approval or disapprove it (again).
567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: eBay / Paypal / Bitcoin Scam!! on: February 22, 2017, 12:31:28 AM
AFAIK it is against eBay ToS to sell bitcoin, or any form of cryptocurrency, Op, you broke their rules in the first place.
This rule is set exactly to avoid this kind of situation where PP or Bank users will reverse transaction after receiving the coins.
It is impossible for anyone to prove that scammer ever received the coins.
He would deny that he traded anything, as his BTC address and TX ID has no value as valid exhibit, they can't be linked to him directly.
There is no court which will listen to you Op, your coins are lost forever.
568  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin reach 2000$ ? on: February 21, 2017, 01:01:59 AM
According  to this website - http://www.alfaquotes.com/ Bitcoin 'fair' price is currently $2.136
But there is very little known about the formula they are using to determine that fair price.
All they said - it is a mining-based formula and it takes all aspects of mining into account.
569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Becoming rich owning all altcoins in 5 years? on: February 21, 2017, 12:21:37 AM
Hahahaha good joke buddy. If you're buying an ICO shitcoin AFTER the presale, more often than not, you're just throwing money away. You should absolutely not divert serious amounts of funds into ICO coins after they've already been listed on exchanges. With that being said, non-ico shitcoins or shicoins currently in ico are still fair game.
It is the harsh truth about ICOs.

After initial phase of ICO when there is no hype anymore and pumping is done,
then it is you best chance to sell off every token and forget about this coin.

The best and quite recent example - Zcash - right after the end of ICO period was over price of 1 token was around $1300 for a few days.
And now Zcash is worth $30.
570  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Block Chain has a new look! Nice and clean also easier on the eyes! on: February 21, 2017, 12:13:53 AM
Ah having seen another saying the same and it is nice change
it is good they stopped the constant ticker of transfers happening cause it was a waste of bandwidth for anyone going to their launch webpage.
Maybe that ticker used some bandwidth but I can't imagine it was even remotely expensive to keep around for big company like Blockchain.
I liked that feature very much. Even as it wasn't useful for any particular reason.
But it looked 'nerdy' and was catching eye of bystanders when I was opening my wallet in a public place.
Now main page of Blockchain.info is not as interesting as before IMO.
571  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have found a wallet with 40 BTC on: February 20, 2017, 11:50:40 PM
Please consider donating to projects who supports the community, they really deserve this, and without them, bitcoin is nothing, and you wouldn't be able to exchange, trade, play, gamble ...
I wouldn't exactly say that donations are pillar of any community. Especially cryptocurrency community.
It doesn't' work like that, any form of donation is an optional goodwill manifestation and shouldn't be viewed as compulsory payment.
There is always that feeling of uncertainty when you have no idea how your donation is gonna be used. I don't like that.

It is hard to believe that someone posted private bitcoin keys on some forum and they lied there untouched since 2011.
572  Economy / Gambling / Re: [SCAM] mBitCasino just CLOSED my account after a 3.5BTC I TRIED TO CASH OUT!?! on: February 20, 2017, 02:26:06 AM
** No bonus wager requirements were active or used

This is the only relevant aspect.  If multiple accounts were made from the same computer and both used a bonus, it's reasonable to assume it's the same person attempting to abuse the bonus.

Are you positive that neither account had ever received any bonus?
Even if Op story is 100% legit, it will be very hard to convince the casino that Op is telling the truth.
If they have reasons to believe someone is trying to cheat their bonus, created multiple account with the same IP or display some sort of weird behavior.
But I don't think that grabbing winnings/deposit of the users is justifiable practice even then.
It is funny that they weren't investigating/blocking you earlier, but when you won, their security system suddenly woke up. Wink
573  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Best wallet to choose ? on: February 20, 2017, 02:18:19 AM
As a newbie in BTC Bitcoin world, im asking about the best wallet i can choose between those on windows :

1-Bitcoin KnotsBitcoin
Knots
2-Bitcoin CoreBitcoin
Core
3-MultiBit HDMultiBit HD
4-ArmoryArmory
5-ElectrumElectrum
6-mSIGNAmSIGNA
7-BitherBither
8-ArcBitArcBit
9-CopayCopay
10-BitGoBitGo
11-GreenAddressGreen
Address
 Huh Huh Huh
Where did you get this list?

This is the list of all types of wallets, you can find here full validation wallets like Bitcoin Core or Armory,
SPV wallets like Electrum or Multibit and wallets that will require you to share control over your Bitcoins with 3rd party, like - Green Address.

I recommend Electrum, it is a HD lightweight wallet (meaning that you won't have download whole blockchain) with good privacy and security options
(even though it relies on external servers to work).

574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Becoming rich owning all altcoins in 5 years? on: February 20, 2017, 02:03:50 AM
Ripple, Dash, Maidsafe
Ripple - are you really fine with a company which wants ultimately create 100 billion tokens while keeping half of it?

Dash - if you are into secretly instamined coins then Dash will be the best for you. /s

Maidsafe - this coin has great potential, if developers could deliver for once and fulfill their promises. Until then it is only forever Soon™️️ type of a project.
575  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Goodbye Bitcoin on: February 19, 2017, 04:05:10 PM
Ahh, I don't know how to say this, but I have to say the truth. Bitcoin is over. The 8 year experiment that was meant to change the world for the better
So you think that less than decade should be enough for Bitcoin to take over the world?
8 years to estroy all centralized competition: financial institutions, electronic payment processors and become pinnacle of evolution of currency?
It is not how development and progress works. World won't change over night, even with the most ground breaking invention.

Here, look at this map, it is the map of entire internet in 1969:

I bet if were developer of the internet network back then you would say something like this:
"oh, so after a couple years, internet disappointed me, it is a failed experiment. I can't imagine that people will ever be using it."
576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE NEXT BITCOIN HALVING on: February 19, 2017, 03:31:30 PM
People were also expecting that last halving would kill bitcoin due to the much smaller rewards, this didn't happen.

Bitcoin will have mining rewards well into 2100, by that time, if bitcoin is still around, solutions to this potential problem will have been found and accepted by the community. The ultimate idea is ofcourse that the transaction fees are enough to cover the lost mining fees (which don't need to be 12.5 bitcoin per block if price is sufficient).
Just like the bitcoin scaling debate is being solved as we speak? Until bitcoin community will unite and fix current bitcoin problems:
block scaling, transaction malleability, rising transaction fees, longer confirmation times (far longer than promised 10 minutes)
Until then I refuse to believe that any future Bitcoin's problems could be solved in a decentralized environment.
577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [vDice.io]►Ethereum Blockchain Gambling►►**New & Awesome Version of Site on: February 19, 2017, 03:13:42 PM
Is there any reason this thread is not in gambling section? AFAIK Gambling section is not limited to bitcoin only services but any crypto gambling.
I tried to search for active vDice thread in Gambling but I found only this: Decentralised Gambling Game vDice Announces Crowdsale

Crowdsale is now over so it will be wise to close that thread and create a new thread in Gambling section.
It will give vDice project maximum exposure.

You sure about the bolded part?

I am confused now, what do you mean by 'are you sure'? I couldn't find any recent vDice thread in gambling section.
It certainly didn't show among my search results, the thing you can never be sure with the way bitcointalk's search engine works.
So if there is vDice announcement in the gambling section, please share a link. If not - creating a thread there would help spread the word.

579  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you choose casino to play? on: February 18, 2017, 04:21:52 PM
What's the most important to you? Bonuses? Or something else?
If you are seasoned gambler then you should know that casino bonuses are usually tailored to bring benefits to the house.
In reality it is really hard to claim most of these promotions. I rarely pick casino just because they have interesting promo.
But yes, if promotion is straightforward and possible to claim, it is additional point for the casino.

Reputation, security, transparency and honesty of a casino operator - these are the features I am looking for.
But of course if website looks like it was made by a grade school kid then I am not even trying to register or play.
580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin segwit activation. What happened? on: February 18, 2017, 03:55:03 PM
The litecoin community has said that it will be surely activated because they were so sure at that least 75% of the miners will cooperate. What happened?
IIRC Same thing happened to bitcoin before.

Bitcoin community was euphoric about SegWit and everyone thought that LN and SegWit will be reality withing a month after signalling will start.
I suspect that it is tht bad press and propaganda of bitcoin anti SegWit front ebbed away that initial enthusiasm of LTC community.
Well, I thought that LTC users form more unitary community, maybe I was wrong.
