561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this a good advice? on: November 20, 2023, 09:54:19 PM
I keep seeing gamblers advising themselves that you are one step closer to winning the jackpot when you quit too early,  it's sad that they strongly believe this.

Is this true?
To some extent, YES!!
For the fact that it's not guaranteed doesn't mean it ain't happening... That's why most time, I'd always wanna say gambling is more of luck to skills and experience - mind you, I'm not saying skills & experience isn't good to have, but sometimes they don't even matter..
Quote
This advice is actually making gamblers believe that they can win when they spend a lot of more time in the casino, they strongly believe that not stopping or taking break will bring them closer to their jackpot.
That's actually why isn't called " gambling"

To be technically correct, satoshi never posted on Bitcointalk. He was a member on the bitcoin forums that were hosted on bitcoin.org and sourceforge. Satoshi disappeared before Bitcointalk was created with this domain. All his/their posting was done on the old forums.
Actually, that's true.
Come to think of it — I wonder how long Bitcointalk would've survived if it wasn't for signature campaigns? Activity wouldn't be this big if it wasn't for bounties.
bounties plays a big in the forum's activity ratio; it's not been the same overtime... If you could observe, the level of impression created by the forum has been high off ever since the merit system was created; people have gained so much knowledge in here, though (sometimes, they may be told about the benefits from bounties and that could be Thier motivation) but I can bodly say Bitcointalkforum is a solid 35% influence on the awareness created about Bitcoin...
so sig campaigners are basically like paid tech support?

i like that
If that's what you're comfortable calling it.

Trading is a NO NO for me... Atleast for now.
I've lost alot of money through that route and I think I've just been too much in a hurry - that infact, is something I won't wanna try again. I'd also wanna increase my HODL overtime too.

uhmmm ... Your name gives me too much concern and it tells alot about your reputation - you got registered the same year like me too but what happened all of a sudden?? You lost your interest? Wouldn't that be the opposite of the reasons why you made up this post??

In addition to what you said, I don't think peeps are usually smart enough when they begin to entertain discussions on social media platforms or wherever - to the point that they're eventually lured into something they won't wanna do but, for the sake of the friendship that's been built and nutured trustwise overtime, they are already into it.
You can also be a cyber security to yourself and resources - I mean you're in the best position to secure your funds, not anyone else... It's best to erase any erroneous mindset of money doubling on the net - I'll call it LUCK if you eventually fall for a Ponzi scheme ( cus sometimes, you might miraculously get paid ones or twice), but the worst part would be sending your coins without any traces.

565  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to verified My Binance Account? on: November 17, 2023, 08:17:04 PM
Mhann, there's only one way to verify an account on binance - create an account and follow the processes... You won't be allowed to trade or fund the account until the first verification is completed - it'll definitely include informations from your local bank and IDs... That's obviously a "KYC process" which you can't escape.
Aside that, they've made a particular video that pops up like an ad or something everytime you log in - in the video, you'll be shown your way around... It's more like a FAQs( in a video form)

I didn't even have to read your content; I just went straight ahead to the first response you got and I understood everything was wack..
How do you claim to have 200btcs currently in your custody without any prior knowledge on how to sell 'em out?.. wait, where did you put them coin in?? A basket at your home or what? Cus you don't even sound like you've got an idea about crypto-based wallets and centralized exchanges...

Everything in life is risky... Including life itself - you just need to learn to do things the right way, just like everyone else. We've got alot of successful Bitcoin holders - does that prove the fact that Bitcoin is as risky as what you claim? No!

sometimes, the mind becomes your greatest adversary - doubtfulness and spitefulness could also debarr you... I like the fact that your topic didn't bear a rhetorical question.

That's the reasons why some of my post has got limited lettered words..
I believe the little I convey through my writings is just enough for the wise ones..
Newbie's be taking it really personal these days to post - saying this in response to what the first reply was all about...  there's time for everything ... A time to learn and a time to execute your thoughts as it'll be very helpful....

Uhmmm, some peeps are naturally extravagant... It don't mean they can't just adjust buh, they've been used to wasting resources and that's definitely what defines them at some point in Thier lives...

I'd like to add this... You can't pretend enough when it comes to things done within your closet (gambling) - you may try to act wise for some few moves with your bankroll but trust me, someday, you'd wager everything on it and it'll just be an experience to share to others...
Well for the wise one, they can actually be disciplined enough not to use more than the desired for a day or two.

Can a gambler become a good trader? Yes. If he learns how to trade. He has little to read about risk management and he should still know that he should trade with the amount of money that he can afford to lose.
No!!!!!!
I see the opposite of what you said... Why would you expect someone that gambles all the time to be able to have the resilience to trade?? Talk more of observing the risk management proceed and accountability?
It's funny cus he's definitely gonna trade just the same way he gambles; selecting them lot sizes for multipliers and also getting into the market when he feels like... I'm not disputing the fact that he's gonna have the techs to analyze and use modest strategies, but he'll definitely lose everything and hope he gets back to his feet someday.

You're not talking about a gambler but an addict. These are different. You can be a gambler and not an addict, and you can be an addict, but not a gambler. Wink
I wasn't able to decipher anything in what you said...
Did you actually say "you can be an addict but not a gambler"?? How's that possible?? I don't get..? What's the addiction about if not gambling??

it's also very abnormal to have such an ambition as an addict - no matter how interesting the idea might look, there's every tendency that the casino doesn't even last the next few weeks...

Have you ever thought of giving back to the community if you ever had a successful gambling run? One of those punters on X, who usually wins large sums of money from betting, is giving out about 25 laptops to folks who cannot afford them, and he recently paid for someone's cybersecurity online course. Do you think this is something that you can do—give back to the community from your gambling runs?
I won't - I'd rather use funds elsewhere to run projects like that..
Yunno why I said so? It'll be very insensible of me to give what can be taken away without my consent to the public, when I still need these funds to wager on more games (assuming I'm an addicted gambler)
It's actually a good thing to be benevolent.. there'll always come a time when you'll need the support of peeps around you too ...

Do owners of betting companies place bet on their own platform or is there a policy specific policy that restricts them from betting. Do you think that there would be conflict of interest or that it will be unethical if owners bet on their own platforms. These are the questions that I am seeking an answer to.
Mostimes, alot of gambling companies and sites are owned by chronic gamblers themselves. They won't dare wager into the company's funds as that would already predict the future of the casino; the more funds he utilizes selfishly, the more predictable the fortune of the casino is...
I worked as a cashier in a local casino house and I was later informed that the boss lost over 6 million naira on virtual games... Things like this happen but they won't tell you.

Whoever is behind the story fucked up big time to have allowed his parents notice his gambling habits... They may not be reasoning the same thing as you have but, Thier decisions would mean alot to them since you're only the "next of kin" and won't forcefully claim the properties to yourself except there is no will.
I would only beg and then try as much as possible to convince them that I'm a changed person and I'd wanna retain my new personality..

I'm just wondering how it works seriously.
Sometimes in the reality of this whole thing, it's almost impossible to convince and hypnotize a person to forgetting his gambling habits, talkmore of doing it online.. looks to me like something that's way too difficult to cope with.

well, it could as well be helpful since alot of peeps have given recommendations to it already... I'm not an addict but I understand how addiction can be very clingy.

576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Casinos with Online and Offline version, Are they the same? on: November 15, 2023, 09:29:23 PM
I’ve never heard the term offline casino before. I was wondering how an online casino could have an offline version but it seems as though you’re talking about an actual casino that exists physically. Very weird to refer to it as an offline casino. I think you may be spending a little too much time behind a computer if you refer to normal things in your life as the offline versions.
Hahahahahahahaha..!!! Exactly!
He actually meant to say "casino houses" but then, we all understood the massage behind the information he conveyed..

I think all of the casinos you mentioned isn't sharing any domian maintenance and operators.. 1xbit is managed by a different set of malicious techs and it obviously has a different brand name from 1xbet.. you can't expect peeps to condemn them for whatever atrocities ixbit has committed over the years now...

578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Luck and skill, which is more important for gambling success? on: November 14, 2023, 09:59:35 PM
I have the believe that success in gambling requires a mixture of luck and skill. This is opposed to some people that believe that gambling is entirely a game of luck and others who believe it is entirely a game of skill.

So I am tempted to inquire if skill is all that is needed to be successful in gambling or luck. Whichever be the option, which of them is the most important factor for gambling success?
What do you call a mixture?? Kind of a merge or something? That mindset is delusional bruh... There's actually nothing in your capacity to be done which would guarantee a win on your games... NOTHING!
Afterall, every speculation 95% of the times don't even fall in as predicted so what?? Lol.. I see it this way - luck is real... There's a woman that wrote out random numbers from a coupon, making a code from it - and what happened? It actually cut ! Mind you, she's got zero experience about gambling and how it works...

What percentage of bitcoin investors are gamblers ?  Where will this figure be if we consider worldwide users ? I think it will be somewhere between 10-20% ? Also, it is possible that most of gamblers are still not bitcoin investors ? I see  less chances of the later happening.
Uhmmm, the digital currency has had its way into the current renaissance globally - that, infact has been a "problem" and also a solution to different other problems...
I think with that little analysis, coupled with the fact that we've got new peeps evangelised on a daily, I'd say that atleast 68% of gamblers are crypto base. All the same, I think others may have a different view to it.

Computer-based games are usually rigged bruh... ain't any of those games get played luckwise... Alot of peeps would be so lucky in claiming 'em wins that a casino would fall and other would either plan on a retreat option or quit permanently...
They're also paying bills and making daily expenses; don't also forget in a hurry that it's actually a business, not a "fund raising program" whatever happens, know these facts and have 'em on your mind when dealing with casinos.
