561  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to join best bounty and earn money? on: August 29, 2023, 07:39:40 PM
I don't understand there are so many bounty in bounty section. Because a YouTuber made video and I saw. He says make account and than earn money with bounty and I don't have knowledge?

You should ask that YouTuber about it. If you are looking for ways to earn money, better skill up first. There is nothing free in this world mate except dust. Most of the altcoin bounty is a scam and only waste your time. There is a paid signature campaign but it will be extremely hard for a newbie like you to rank up and join one of those pretty soon. So it is up to you but my advice will be don't waste your time looking for money here instead use that time to learn something and in the meantime use your free time to spend in the forum in case one day you rank up and join a btc paid signature campaign.
562  Other / Meta / Re: Request: Disable JayJuanGee in the Wall Observer thread on: August 29, 2023, 07:31:10 PM
Lol.

I can see that as there are several WO regulars in this thread, it is becoming a WO-style one and not a typical Meta thread, because of the overquotes for example.

I am the only one who misses JJG writing a couple of short paragraphs as is usual for him on the topic here? He hasn't even written in the other one, of which this one is a parody, I understand.

They are arguing with each other. Maybe it will be better to do that in WO as well.

I do like how JJG is super active in WO but I do not like his long neck post. His post is usually way too large to concentrate though I always got interested in reading those. Sometimes i enjoy watching some of the merit farmer's dedication to get JJG's attention in case he got a merit from him. I think it's the only board where serious people stop being serious and enjoy with each other. I am against disabling JJG's in the WO.
563  Other / Meta / Re: Whats your take on adding 2FA key as a Bitcointalk account security features. on: August 29, 2023, 07:22:18 PM
The Captcha bypass code lets everybody, well, bypass the Captcha test, so it will be easy for bots to come in and try to brute-force your password because they won't need to solve captcha after each attempt.
That doesn't make it "easy" to brute-force your password, if you use any decent password they'll never be able to guess it (at 1 guess per second).
Besides, I'm kinda hoping theymos added some additional rate limit to the captcha bypass link: it would be good to show a captcha again after entering, say, 1000 incorrect passwords.

It's safe to use a decent password for your account but how many users log out from their account and again log in every time they use their account? Most of them just log in and forget about it. So if someone uses a unique logged password what will happen after a few months when he forgets his password? He needs to reset it with his mail. So if someone uses a short password and there is a 2FA feather he uses no one will be able to access his account even if they know the password.
564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who Drives Crypto Prices? Is Crypto Really Being Adopted by Society? on: August 28, 2023, 07:00:30 PM
It doesn't matter who controls the price of bitcoin the real deal about bitcoin is its acceptability in our society increasing day by day. There was a time when people used to call it scammer coin. Most of the user of the Bitcoin network was miners, gamblers, hackers, and drug dealers because of its privacy and decentralized manner. Now the situation has changed and it has come to the national level. Some small countries have already declared bitcoin as legal tender and some wanted to. Countries like Bhutan wanted to mine bitcoin because they didn't have much income source for their country. A few years back no one even thought there would be govt backup Bitcoin mining firm one day. Now many will call me mad but I will not be surprised if in the future the world will use Bitcoin as one of the research currencies for the bank.
565  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just Learnt About A Major Risk Involved In Stable Coins on: August 28, 2023, 05:24:56 PM
This forum is really helpful I must confess. I never knew about Pegging and Depegging. But after my previous post on whether to save in stable coins or my local currency, I got to know that even stable coins have their own risks involved, in which Depegging is one of the major risks

I'm very happy I asked the question and other users really responded very well. All the responses were really helpful. I think other newbies like myself learned a lot from the replies.

We do understand how grateful you are to the forum members. Thanks for the appreciation and good luck with your journey in the crypto world.

Stablecoin may not be always stable but it provides traders with speculative opportunities. Those who exchange their fiat or other volatile cryptos for a stable currency have the intention to rebuy volatile crypto assets or they want to provide liquidity in any DeFi application. In most cases, this is the fact. People do not want to keep stablecoin in their portfolio because it will not grow. If you haven't done anything bad like hacking any protocol your assets won't be frozen I think. It is not like they freeze your stablecoin without any reason.
566  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is DeFi an aging, over-hyped mess or a great thing? on: August 27, 2023, 01:16:40 PM
Hi all, I've been reading here for a while and decided to join your busy place. What do you think about DeFi for the next several years. Will it fade away, like most ICO's, stabilize and get much easier to use, or continue with wildly volatile tokens and hot new projects that keep getting major hacks? I love the subject and think the short and sweet DeFi is a prefect name since the whole internet population is used to WiFi.

What do you think, are we looking at a passing fad, something that gets "re-branded or re-invented" after the hacks settle down, and/or is DeFi currently on a path to keep getting stronger?

Comparing Defi with ICO is like comparing a high-speed train with a horse carriage. When one is getting more innovative day by day other one just fades away for not being so innovative. While having a bank account from opening till using it can take several days, your grandma can use a defi application without any hassle. You can do everything that a bank can do with less energy and time consumption, less fees. It's not like the use case has been shifted towards something more innovative.

After so many Defi hack, exploit, and rugg pull we are still here and people are using it. That means there are still so many uses in defi and people find it convenient for them to use it. It is not going to fade away at least if there isn't anything more secure and user-friendly than the current Defi application and services.

567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: invest what you can loss. on: August 27, 2023, 11:38:32 AM

Always invest only what you can loss l have said this on this platform a million times. when people cry to me about loses in BTC and other crypto's, I remind them that wailer are usually people who invested more than they can lose. his principle is the key to life.
whether you are investing in BTC ,or other crypto's,  only invest what you can afford to lose.

What do you think about it

No one wants to lose anything. People know about the risks of investing in crypto yet they do not fear to do it because the reward ratio is so high that no other investment can match it. Everybody wants to be rich in their early life so that they don't need to work in their old age. And if you are risking something then early life is the best time don't you think? If you break you will have more time to rebuild which you will not get at old age.

Every investment has a level of risk and taking risk is in human nature. It doesn't mean you will throw away your money into anything. Take risks with knowledge.
568  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Here is a tight slap to bitcoin haters on: August 27, 2023, 10:34:56 AM
LOL is a kind of FUD that is deliberately spread to influence the market price, so that those behind the FUD news get bitcoin at a low price.

This has become a fairly common practice and is often found anywhere.
This means that Bitcoin will die, but in reality, Bitcoin continues to strengthen and become the most popular decentralized digital asset.
It has even been adopted in several countries as a legal tender.

News about the death of Bitcoin will increase, and even people who are skeptical about Bitcoin will give mixed responses.
Bitcoin will never die and even continue to grow. Expecting the death of Bitcoin will only be a waste of time.

Some institutional paid news media spread rumors like binance fud, huboi fud and most of the negative news so that institutional investors can earn money by opening short positions and buying more bitcoin cheaply from the spot market. In crypto market money is power and if you have money you can control media, and influence who can drive the market as you want. The bitcoin market has been facing this type of issue from the beginning.

570  Other / Meta / Re: Request: Disable merits in the Wall Observer thread on: August 25, 2023, 07:18:15 PM
Some of my local board members rank up pretty fast. it was hard for me to believe how they did it when i saw the way they posted. When I checked their source of merit i found that it was WHO. They just keep posting memes and sharing tweets. Some even got merit by saying a joke when i haven't found any logic behind them. If getting merit is that easy then it will lose its value.

You're somehow right that there are many members of the local boards that rank up pretty fast, but that doesn't mean that they get all of the merits from WO thread because some of those members also get good amount of merits from their own local boards. I don't think that they're getting those merits easily. Even in WO thread there are many members who won't get good any merits even they create more than 10 posts a day, but there are only a few lucky ones who get a dozen of merits when their post is liked by @El duderino_ and I think those guys are very lucky because @El Duderino_ is known for his attribute of distributing merits to the posts he finds worthy of getting merits. That doesn't means he gives merits to all those craps the members are posting on WO thread, but to the only ones that are somehow related to Bitcoin.

Even the ones posting memes may get some merits from WO, but that really doesn't mean that those members aren't putting efforts in getting those merits. In fact they're trying their best to find those memes and post it on WO thread to get those merits, and that's the main reason that @OP of this thread wanted the merit system to be disabled on WO thread. Even-through their approach also requires some efforts, but they aren't learning anything in the process and such members won't be able to create good quality posts even if they receive so many merits in a short span of time.

Yeah, especially those board who has their merit source. When i visit some of the local boards it seems they send merits to every new topic. It is very easy to get merit in the local board if your board has a merit source i think. Especially india and pakistani board members are very generous towards their fellow comrades. I have no idea what is happening around here. Lol
571  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are there crypto related freelancing sites around? on: August 25, 2023, 07:09:18 PM
please I will need guidance on how to get started with freelancing but will prefer if there are crypto based specifically Bitcoin as main payment option. I am a complete novice as regards freelancing and will like to know how best to set up a catchy profile that will be outstanding and unique one that will make my skills more marketable.

Without skill in any specific category, you will not be able to find any job for you. Build up your skills create a portfolio and gear up your linkedin profile. These will help you to find a job and These are some online platforms that allow users to withdraw their earnings in bitcoin:

1.upwork
2.Blocklancer
3.CryptoGrind
4.Coinlancer

Always read the terms and conditions before making any withdraw. Some of these site are sensitive and your account can be disable.

573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A creative way to introduce BTC to newcomers on: August 25, 2023, 03:11:01 PM
One of the biggest issues that I find is that Bitcoin seems to boring of a topic for most people...technology, money, socio-economic issues...
So for the past year and a half I've been working on this piece of art that turned into a newbie-friendly, fun and colorful mini movie,
that takes you through the roller coaster ride of bitcoin's 13-year history Smiley

https://youtu.be/Fvt1Ma1Nep4

I hope you enjoy it, and please help spread the word!

I love the way this video was presented. Animated explanation video always gets interesting for many people. Who wants to listen to an hourly lecture from an old man? It will not be enough to learn everything about bitcoin but it can enhance interest among the newcomers.

The ending was great in how you show the rise of Bitcoin in price. I was expecting a breakdown of supply and demand theories as well so that newcomers get well know about the reason behind the positivity in bitcoin price.
574  Local / India / Re: Which Indian crypto influencer are you following? on: August 25, 2023, 02:35:19 PM
There is only one influencer that i follow from india. Sumit kapoor's way of making videos is quite different from that of other influencers. Most importantly he shares the strategy that he follows. Most of the influencers do not do that instead they share something from the internet. Though i do not follow his portfolio management stratgey but i do like his entry and exit strategy.
575  Local / India / Re: what do you think about pi? on: August 24, 2023, 07:17:10 PM
I came across the project pi, my neighbors. friends are talking about pi, mining pi, pi is easy money, etc.
what do you think about this project, is it a scam? or another shit project.

many peoples are revealing their identity by sharing their documents by doing kyc,

is it worth spending time and energy on?

https://minepi.com/

From every possible angle, it looks like a scam. But some people do not care about it as long as they are making money. That is the reason there is still some demand of PI in some P2P telegram groups. If you got some PI free and it is transferrable then sell them to grab some free money. PI isn't a project to keep holding their coin. Most of their users are from Asian region so they will not get much attention in the west.

577  Local / India / Re: Polygon MATIC Co-founders are Indians! on: August 24, 2023, 07:05:29 PM
Actually you all must be familiar with this project Polygon Matic but do you know that master mind behind this project are Indians too? Unfortunately, just like, most of them great Indian moved to better country for various reasons. And founders clearly mentioned POLYGON IS NOT AN INDIAN STARTUP.

You can find the names here : https://polygon.technology/about

Kind of shocking right or at least to me because I never knew that. Most of the time, You can find the cryptocurrency projects coming from India is nothing but obvious scams, but this kind of good to hear and can say we are also involved in the development of crypto projects from time to time.

Yeah, they are indians and it is not shocking at all. If you look at most of the big projects you will see multi-national people in their team. Indian and Chinese origin people are common in crypto projects after all they share a vast number of people combined.

Scammy project is easy to identify. Most of them are copycats and team members are nowhere to be found on the internet. Its easy to identify legit team members if you check their LinkedIn profile.
578  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: They believe that Bitcoin is outdated due to a misunderstanding. on: August 24, 2023, 05:15:34 PM
After reading this post what i can see the OP is getting his knowledge from Peter Schiff or his followers. A lot of misunderstanding about Bitcoin and its technology. The technology you are talking about is better than bitcoin came after it. Most of those are inspired by bitcoin and blockchain technology directly or indirectly. If there is one true decentralized and censorship-resistant crypto asset that is bitcoin. Even SEC who is known for its anti-crypto tendency had to admit that.
579  Other / Meta / Re: Qobuz Sublime phishing sent to my bitcointalk.org email on: August 24, 2023, 05:06:35 PM
It will be better not to use your mail publicly or on any website that has poor security measures. Sometimes websites get hacked or their user data is breached. I have found one of my email addresses from the list of a hacker who breached the data of a well-known company. The moderator of this website is well known for their reputation and their contribution. I do not think this is an insider job and accusing someone especially a forum moderator without solid proof is not a great personality.

580  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lessons Taken from Previous Bull Markets: How Will Your Approach Change? on: August 24, 2023, 04:13:54 PM
The crypto world has seen some really exciting bull markets, and right now, it looks like we might be gearing up for another one. Whether you've been trading for a while or you're new to the crypto scene, it's important to take a moment and think about the lessons we've learned from past bull runs.

Two lessons i learned from the last bull market that i think are worth sharing.

1. Don't sell too early
2. Selling some and buying more at a lower price is not a bad idea.

If you are not a bitcoin maximalist then most of you hold some other altcoin as well. In the last bull run, One of my friends sold some of his altcoins with 2X to 3X profits when they rode all over to more than 20X. He lost a lot of money and he regrets it. On the other hand that same person keep holding his Bitcoin even that touches 65K market by expecting it to cross 100k. He regrets that as well by thinking if he would have sold some of his bitcoin he could have bought 3 times more bitcoin with that same money.

So i think most of us want our portfolio to grow so if i get a chance to increase the number of bitcoin i have i will take it.
