561  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who plays bigger role in crypto adoption: General public or government ? on: February 27, 2024, 08:08:08 AM
Both the government and individuals play big roles in cryptocurrency or Bitcoin particularly, we can not say one plays more than the other because of the cases we have seen concerning Bitcoin adoption. I could say the government and the individuals play their roles Viz vice.

As said above by some senior colleagues citizens could decide to adopt bitcoin or use cryptocurrencies as payment method but the government could jeopardize that decision with regulations, although there are cases where the people still find a way to hold cryptocurrencies and use them but initial it could be prohibited. so too government could decide to make Bitcoin legal tender but it has to be the choice of the masses whether to adopt or not.

Well to you op it calls for celebration but in my perspective we have a long way to go before the next bear market will come and in this times Bitcoin will be on appreciation lane so you should still be accumulating.

I wouldn't judge any of your actions, yes it's the fact that you left a 0.1 BTC in an exchange whereas you should be aware that keeping an amount that is equivalent to a 500 dollar and above is very much discouraged. with such a profit or about you should have a hardware wallet or create a cold wallet storage as soon as it hits a good profit.

564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5G positive effects on Bitcoin on: February 27, 2024, 01:18:15 AM
Although this is Bitcoin related but it's not solely a technical discussion, I believe it fits some where else not here particularly.

The attributes of the 5G network which you have mentioned above is quiet not true statements in regards to how it will help the Bitcoin network. although it will increase the user experience of global internet users but it's not a ground for the attributes you mention.

You can read of Bitcoin network congestion [1] how it work, what causes them etc. to get aquatinted with the knowledge hence Bitcoin network connection is caused by factors like high rate of transactions (increase in Bitcoin adoption), cost of transaction fee, lastly size of transaction, each transaction on bitcoin network has a limit of 1 MB and when transactions are higher 1mb it takes more space in the block thereby causing reduction in transaction process which may lead to increase in tx fee.

565  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling games that gives you an exciting experience on: February 26, 2024, 09:33:58 PM
On a personal level based on how effective and effective gambling has been over time I'm getting to prefer crash game and sportbooking, recently I placed a bet on basketball games I noticed the chance of winning was very high that I was convinced to stake more but I don't but definitely I won the game.
do crash games really giving wins? because upon my observation Crash Games seems to be manipulated because you are winning big then the crash happens
even in the first level.
Yes off course, crash game gives winning. the truth we all have different perception about a particular thing, which I can interpret as one man's food is another man's poison. it could favouring me but giving others bad time, it's a subjective reasoning. it maybe manipulated in from your perspective but not really for me.

Quote
The user interface that most casinos have provided have made it very easy to access this games and as a result I'm getting to prefer crash game over all other games because I enjoy it most, and I don't really feel anything like sadness when I loss, so whatever game that can provide that I think is most preferable.
respected your decision and views about gambling but for me ? it is Roulette and Black jack that gives me entertainment and so exciting once I beat the the banker multiple times continuously .
Well, its your choice of game and crash  is my kind of game. let's say I was influenced by friends to like this crash game. in my hostel almost all the boys play crash during free times and this changed our perspective of crash game we some how don't feel it as gambling but game only.
566  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: UniSat Wallet - User Experiences on: February 26, 2024, 09:04:35 PM
For me I haven't tried the wallet so I don't have any experience on it yet but I might try since you've brought it to my notice.

basically I don't really like anything that has to do with ordinals protocol and from my quick search I can say it was primarily developed for holding NFTs and tokens, so bitcoin is just an additional feature that might bring attention. although its open source which gives it a little ground for interest yet I wouldn't like to use it because of its rating which is 2 star wallet, that means it still have some outstanding issues that is reducing the rating.

568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum price approaches $3k on: February 25, 2024, 03:01:45 PM
In the wild world of crypto, news holds sway over market movements, especially for specific coins. Ethereum's climb to $3k seems tied to rumors of a spot ETF approval by May. We've seen this script before with Bitcoin – ETF anticipation boosting prices, then a correction. Ethereum might follow suit: a surge to $3k fueled by ETF hype, then a reality check.
I absolutely agree with you, it could be as a result of all the hype oriented by the ETF but after some time I believe it's going  to make a price correction as you said.
569  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What if the naira currency takes its shape again on: February 25, 2024, 02:56:45 PM
My question to all what if this naira currency takes it shape today what is ur fate what will you say you have benefited from when it was high, cause I still feel that lots of people don't have any savings at all so what will be the difference between you that is earning in dollar and has no savings and a person earning in naira and still has no savings.
This question requires a rational thinking. Yeah if dollar because equally with naira which I see no possibility but if it plays out to be so then people will begin to earn in naira.

One thing you most remember is that Nigerians like to make use of every opportunity so if naira get equivalent to dollar then all the naira earning means will be maximize although i believe this to be an imagination because with that I'm seeing even with all the measures to bring naira up it's not going to work yet till the government that is call this suffering a baby step gives up.
570  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Have Different Perception Of Gambling Operators on: February 25, 2024, 02:46:42 PM
it's just a subject reasoning of some people that one is better than the other whereas they are same but in a different environment. judging from the look of things people could be very sentimental for some reason that the cockpit arena could be filled with lots of gangsters and all manner of crime scene but for the lotto environment you could see it a civil place where people would come and go peacefully in a subject sense but in reality the same people who go to the cockpit arena are still the people in the lottos.

One thing about the sentiment is it's very much biased factored around wife's/partners.
571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The future of cryptocurrency. on: February 25, 2024, 02:23:18 PM
There are so many crypto projects we need to hold that will give us what we need in the market and the kind of profits we want to be making if we know how to search and dyor about good projects in the market we can buy.
The market is going more bullish and for those that have good projects they are holding, they will benefit more in the market if they can keep holding without selling. Sometimes we might feel the pressure smto sell since we have small profits, don't sell and hold.
I partially agree with you do some extent, the crypto space has become so big that everyday projects are been created all promising a good future. with this finding the right project to invest on is likely very difficult to get even with our own researches.

At this point, we can only gamble on any of the crypto project that we fill is going to attain a good height but been definite with our research is quite impossible.

I also solidly disagree with the holding of new projects, I don't like to gamble or probably take risk but there are some that are absolutely not worth it, like holding a shitcoin it's more like increasing my stress holding potential coin battling with wallets that are compatible with all her shit coins will increase my stress.
572  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to create a beautiful QR code for address, avatar, etc... on: February 25, 2024, 01:34:30 PM
If you have a question, ask me and I'll try to help.
My question is does this have anything to do with Bitcoin wallet address or it's just specifically for avatars and signature campaign related stuff?

Because if this have to do with your wallet address then it's absolutely a wrong move. Uploading your address to an unknown website to generate a quick response code is exposing your wallet address to virus and malicious wallet address changers and it can be manipulated and lead to lost of funds.
Even though we have to verify the wallet address before sending it's still very vulnerable for hackers to change the address.

but if this solely for websites, avatar etc then I don't have problem with the idea.

just a friendly question!
573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How do you make money on transactions with a node? on: February 25, 2024, 12:48:14 PM
Running a full node (Bitcoin Node) is only a way of making yourself and transactions more private, it's also an indirect way of helping the Bitcoin network to become more decentralized as mentioned above. Bitcoin is another kind of money, just like the normal fiat you don't earn it except you get a real job and get paid, so Bitcoin too. you have to work for your Bitcoin hence running a node is not working for anyone but yourself.

Pooya87 has given a perfect answer for the lightning node thing.

I tried installing the Electrum wallet, but it never earned a profit.
How have you been on Bitcointalk since 2017?
Hilarious   Grin
It's really worth asking... Or should I still refer OP to learnmeabitcoin to understand how Bitcoin works.
574  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If there was no government to govern us (humans) on: February 25, 2024, 02:07:27 AM
According to Thomas Hobbes humans are driven by the forces of desire, so in the cost of getting what they want humans will do whatever it takes to get there heart desires. he said without government, society would be in a state of chaos. he further said that men will in fear of one another (continual fear) and danger of violent; and the life of man will be solitary poor, nasty, brutish, and short. This means government as important as the society we live in.

For me personally I can not imagine life without government, no law no control, only the strong will survive.
575  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are children born out of wedlock is still a blessing from God? on: February 25, 2024, 01:46:31 AM
Religionism has blindfolded some people to an extent that they don't want to even be enlightened. if you try to pass a better knowledge to them, you're immediately seen as an enemy or Antichrist.
Children are the nature extension of life whether it comes from unwanted pregnancy or not it's a fruit that most be kept well, according to the religious books children are blessings from God. In African culture there is nothing like wedlock it's a believe that was coined in the era of religion. I would have love to expand this knowledge but perhaps it's not worth blabbing unnecessarily.
576  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Depending on a single income now na suicide now on: February 25, 2024, 01:17:07 AM
perhaps the economy of our great nation has rise to the extent that one source of income is no longer compatible to maintain and facilitate once financial bills. At this point in time we all should be thinking off being creative enough to have other source of incomes not just getting a job because the minimum wage still remains 30,000 naira so this better to be self-employed a business personnel to maintain once financial bills.
577  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: NYSC scheme is another failed structure that could have helped our economy. on: February 25, 2024, 12:46:00 AM
From my own understanding, the problem that we are having is not that our youth are not productive enough or if they go to an industry or company to work or serve during their youth service scheme that the economy will be better or not but it's the fact that our colonial masters introduced there own we of education to us leaving behind the fact that they have industries where after education one will get a job to practice but here we don't have any of those opportunities as them but we practice the same educational system leading our youths to graduate without any job.

now for NYSC it's not anyone's fault but it's our fault that we still want to be employed after the level of knowledge we have gathered in the undergraduate studies. we are all supposed to produce our own things not going after jobs every time. how can I graduate and my first write up after the graduation will be "I beg" to apply for, to me it's insane may God forbid. I will never look out for any job I'm now aware so I will be going for productivity instead of job opportunities.
578  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Asides Government na we be our own problem for this country. on: February 25, 2024, 12:27:26 AM
weytin me I dey call Nigerians we dey do business na opportunist, make nothing make mistake say e add price wether e concern them or not the next thing wey you go hear na price don add ooh. Although we no need vex for the situation because Normally even if me and you dey do business we go still do the same thing na so life just be.

Na true say na we be our problem, yes anyhow e be the government no know how e dey be for the local market na we supposed dey help ourselves but because the greed wey dey inbuilt in us no go allow us help ourselves.
579  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Where are we heading to in this country. on: February 25, 2024, 12:16:22 AM
things have become so expensive that even if you earn in dollars you can't still bit the economic down turn of the country. the major problem we as Nigerians face is selfishness I can relate that it's inherent to man but ours in Nigeria is way more than I can imagine, looking at ourselves turning things around even before it's pronounced increased is giving a very big concern.

dollar trades for about 1800 for instance if anyone that owns a business here's it now he or she will increase price of goods and services and after that even if the price drops we don't longer care at this point making our people suffer then complain that we have a bad economy its just ridiculous.

anyways Bitcoin has been a way to cop with all this inflation and I pray for a more better way to cop with the inflation because I'm not expecting any change in the country soon.
580  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Emergency funds is vital. on: February 24, 2024, 11:56:13 PM
For sure emergency funds is one of the major factors to consider before venturing into any long term investment, it's mostly the most important factor that determines how much one could hold bitcoin or any other asset invested on.

if one lacks a considerable source of income at a point the emergency fund could hold one together for as long as he or she needs to get a job. here in Nigeria most of us usually get side hustle as our emergency funds or reserve fund to facilitate our daily needs and every unforseen circumstances.
