561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: December 27, 2023, 09:28:06 AM
Al Nasr, who played away, won the match, which featured a goal duel between Al Ittihat and Al Nasr, 2-5. Ronaldo scored two penalty goals in this match. While the match continued in a 2-2 draw, Al Ittihat's Fabinho received a red card in the 66th minute, which changed the course of the match. In the 68th minute, Ronaldo put his team ahead 2-3 with a penalty goal. Sadio Mane, who came on stage after these goals, scored 2 points and Al Nasr finished the match with a 2-5 victory. With this victory, Al Nasr increased its points to 43 and reduced the point difference with Al Hilal to 7. Al Hilal has a big advantage for the championship. So far, no team has been able to defeat Team Al Hilal.
Al Nassr three mainstay players were able to give a very good performance, even my prediction was wrong because I thought Ittihad would win like before but it turned out that Al Nassr was able to take revenge after being defeated in the past.
maybe if Ronaldo not get a penalty chance, it looks like he won't be able to score or even get an assist and also maybe if the Ittihad player doesn't commit a foul he gets a red card, score will definitely only be 2-3 and that very dangerous because Ittihad could have held a draw but he's very lucky. Al Nassr was able to beat Ittihad with big score.
Sadio Mane joining Al Nassr actually made a lot of difference for the team both in terms of scoring and game play. It eases the pressures and expectations on Cristiano Ronaldo because at present Mane is more energetic than Ronaldo. Despite trailing Al Hilal Riyadh with 7 points, Al Nassr still have a chance to win the league because the season is just around halfway done.

After their 3-0 loss to Al Hilal Riyadh and their AFC Championship draw with Istiklol Dushanbe of Tajikistan, Al Nassr seems to have rediscovered their scoring skills as they won all the matches with over 3 goals margin. Cristiano Ronaldo is now committed to scoring all the penalties while adding some other normal goals. Indeed, Al Nassr have a good chance of getting the title this season.
562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is fun, watching with bet or without a bet? on: December 27, 2023, 06:53:01 AM
Watching a match you placed your money on is no fun at all. You cannot enjoy the match because your mind will want to only see what will make your betting option work and anything contrary to it will make you feel bad. Assuming I support team A and place money on them winning, I will not feel comfortable when team B is in possession of the ball, this will deny me the fun. I don't know how people manage to find fun watching the match they put their money on because the only time I see fun in that is when my selection is actually working.
563  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advice for crypto bigginers who like chasing the next big thing in crypto. on: December 26, 2023, 08:50:22 AM
There is one thing I have learned hard in crypto world for the past years, whenever a new hype or innovation comes, it will become the most talk about and bad actors will want to make use of this opportunity to scam crypto beginners.

If you are a beginner you should listen carefully.

We can see how the existence of Ordinals on Bitcoin network is turning out, pretty successful and profitable, bitcoin miners are making more money mining Bitcoin and that's a big thank to BRC20 but scammers are excessively bringing out new BRC20 projects and because ORDI is a big success, souring from $3 to $70 right now they are looking for the next one.

Hundred of BRC20 are now been printed everyday now, be careful fellas, as it's now a target for scammers, they have abandoned other hypes for Bitcoin BRC20, don't go and start buying any BRC20 that haven't pump yet with the hope that it will.

Scammers will go any lent to get your money from you, and as good as hype is for crypto, it's also the biggest weapon that scammers use against investors.
The list of these hypes is endless.  Fresh in my memory include NFTs(aka Jpeg) on Ethereum network, P2E games, Metaverse, real estate projects powered by their shitcoin, and many others. As soon as the pioneer projects become successful, scammers will flood the market with shit projects and the hype will die faster than it grew.

Newbies and greedy fellow are usually the targets of these scammers. I don't know how long it will take people to learn that hypes are just for the purpose of scamming. Looking at the underlying real application of any project will easily reveal these cheap scams.

This BRC20 hype will definitely leave a lot of people crime because it is like foundation built on sand... no real value.
564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Share your Bitcoin spendings here on: December 25, 2023, 06:15:19 PM
Is Bitcoin spending not supposed to be a secret? If you ask me, that is supposed to be confidential information as it can pose threat to some people base on their locality. This is a public space and you don't know who is reading your post, so your spending should be secret and confidential.
565  Other / Meta / Re: 2FA added on: December 25, 2023, 06:11:56 PM
This is a great development, but I just have a question and concern regarding the email type. If the 2FA is enabled and someone has access to your email and wants to use the email to reset the password for someone who has enabled it, can't it be deemed necessary for anyone who has enabled it to either provide the 2FA code before they can be able to successfully reset the password, and if the code is not available, they should be required to pass some form of manual verification?
This is also my concern because it is obvious that anyone with access to the email has access to the Bitcointalk account. It would have been great if the 2FA has a separate recovery procedure as well so that to recover password, the 2FA have to be required.

And then again, in respect to someone knowing the other person's password or the account already logged in on a new device before the 2FA is enabled, will the old device where the account is logged in be logged out automatically after the 2FA has been enabled or will the user need to revoke the access manually?
I had my account on "always logged in" but I noticed I was logged out only to see OTP section when I wanted to logging again. I never say Theymos's so I was a little scared but decided to login anyways to see what will happen. It was when I logged in I began to look around searching for posts that explain that development.
566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do Owners of betting companies bet? on: December 25, 2023, 08:44:05 AM
Yeah, they do but it is always in rare case for someone to see a casino owner partaking in their own gambling company. They one's that those, always do it in secret with their cartel friends not openly when they are seen, or even better, they move to a different casino where they are not known by anyone.
I don't think it is logical to think they bet because one will be wondering who they want to win, unless in a case of them betting in a different company. Within the gambling operations and management cadre, the people that gamble actively despite being part of the operation are the agents and super agents. It is easier for them since they are not the owners.

I even see a problem with the gambling operators being active gamblers themselves because it will surely affect their business negatively due to conflict of interest. Assuming some of them develop gambling addiction which is possible, the might use their business capital to gamble and lose it. Of course you know how this will impact the business. So I do not feel the operators should be involved in gambling.
567  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should mentally unstable people be allowed to gamble? on: December 25, 2023, 08:07:12 AM
I have read the TOS of many gambling companies and I did not see this as part of it. I know about the age limitations as well as the warning for responsible gambling... these are the general rules and none of them actually cover the mental health of the gambler.

Besides, it will be difficult to deny someone who walks into a casino, violated no rule and is willing to play and get paid if need be. Anyone under this state of health should not be limited access to the casino and it will be totally unfair to judge base on dressing.

568  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lack of proper knowledge on casino games increases chance of loss and reduce fun on: December 25, 2023, 07:43:08 AM
Knowledge is very important for anything in life and without it, mistakes are bound to happen. Gambling is no exception to this general rule. Even though a lot of people believe gambling is all about luck, I do believe that luck is just part of what it takes to be successful in gambling. Besides, expertise that can be developed in gamnling is not gotten by luck but through proper application of knowledge.

I played Roulette on a casino three days ago and it was obviously my first-time playing Roulette, I literally didn't understand my way out and I just knew I should select a number and click on spin. I did that obediently and time after time, I lost. I was really motivating myself with the next spin, and next and next, but all to no avail, I was lost in the ride until I drained my deposit for the day's gambling, that time It dawned on me that my Ignorance has contributed to my parallel losses for the day, I just logged out and ended that day's session disappointed.
Your experience is a good demonstration of the importance of knowledge in gambling. Some of those losses would have actually been prevented assuming you had proper knowledge of roulette.

I would like to ask if some people here has experienced this too and what is the possibility that most people who experience repeated losses are Ignorant of the game play patterns.
I have experienced it many times in different gambles. Most of the local casinos in my city do not really have proper guide on how to gamble, we relied on friends for guide and we learnt while playing. This came with series of avoidable losses.
569  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 24, 2023, 05:51:10 PM
Looks like Erik Ten Hag may lose his job in 2024. Looking at history of Manchester United, it’s understandable that the fans cannot stand the current mediocrity at the club. Judging by the performance of United this season, ETH deserves the sack so far but perhaps  Manchester United should be more patient just the way Arsenal gave to Mikel Arterta. Klopp first 3 years at Liverpool weren’t that great either. But they have progressed to do big things at their respective clubs
As the season progresses, it is looking like the problems of Manchester United is beyond single person, be it the coach or the player. I understand that it is convenient to blame the coach for the misfortune of the club but let's face the fact, a lot is wrong with the team. For instance, before now, their goalkeeper Andre Onana was the best the team could get but as of today it is looking like he is a very good goalkeeper when the ball is not place on the ground. I So, sacking the coach, Erik Ten Hag without sacking Onana is doing the job halfway. The entire defense line also need serious overhauling to reduce the pressure on the goalkeeper.

570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens if all Bitcoin is lost? on: December 24, 2023, 06:10:10 AM
What would happen if all Bitcoin is mined and all Bitcoin is lost?
@stompix gave a detailed explanation on the future of Bitcoin as regards to when all Bitcoin have been mined. You can read that in this post.

On the other aspects of your post, I don't know what will make all the Bitcoin to be lost or are you referring to when the world will end? We actually have certain amount of Bitcoin that are reported to have been lost; those will remain lost.
571  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [FINAL] FIFA Club World Cup; Manchester City vs Fluminense on: December 22, 2023, 06:40:17 PM
Manchester City vs Fluminense

Manchester City as champions of the UEFA European Champions League for the 2022/2023 season.
Fluminense as champions of the Copa Libertadores for the 2023/2023 season.

The final match of the FIFA Club World Cup was held in Jeddah, at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium.
The referee for this match will be Szymon Marciniak from Poland.
About 30 minutes from now, the match will kick off.

Who do you think will be better at lifting this trophy? Whether Manchester City or Fluminense.
Manchester City will not get this far to lose to team like Fluminense, it will be almost impossible unless maybe with 3 red cards which I don't see happening. Pep Guardiola is a coach that does not love losing at finals especially to a weaker side. So this match is more or less an easy win for Manchester City.
572  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling sites and current transactions fee on: December 22, 2023, 01:31:19 PM
Now the gambling site was in the trouble because of the high transaction fee by the exchanges like the Binance. It was unacceptable one for the gambler to pay 26 dollars to withdraw funds from the Binance.Being a gambler,my opinion is to hold till the money in the exchange itself.Surely we get the profit from the gambling site,if we follow some techniques in the gambling site. But my point is why we need to pay the exchange fee of 26 dollars for the single transaction.
Many gambling sites accepts deposits in many cryptocurrencies not only Bitcoin. To avoid paying high withdraw fees, deposit into gambling platforms using low fees cryptocurrency such as TRX or LTC.

It is not wise to pay transaction fee that is even as high as what you plan to win. This is not sustainable and should be avoided.

573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin will bring you hope and gambling will leave you destitute. on: December 22, 2023, 01:15:26 PM
Today I will share a real incident. An elder brother of my area who has been working in Bangladesh Army for 8 years. We have walked with him enough since childhood and played many sports together but we never saw any such habit in him. He used to serve in the army and used to come home when he got leave and we used to hang out with him but recently we heard some bad news about his affairs through his younger brother. There are various online casinos in which he gambled and ended up in debt of around $18,000. Already his father is a middle-class family member and his father works hard enough to get him a job and manage his money by borrowing heavily but by this time he is 18 thousand dollars in debt due to gambling. Not only did he lose $18,000 by gambling, but he ended up with eighteen thousand dollars in debt, and he also lost money by gambling out of his salary.

If the person I am referring to had not gambled in online casinos and invested this amount of money in bitcoins, he would have made a substantial half profit today, even after paying off his debts.  If he had bought 1 BTC and sold it now when the price of Bitcoin was twenty thousand dollars, he would have made a profit of about 25K dollars even though he had paid a loan of 18K dollars. The reason for sharing this incident of my local elder brother is to warn users about the dangers of gambling.

I don't owe you $18K so we may not understand it but the one I shared with understands how heavy the burden of debt is.
I do both gambling and investment in BItcoin so I disagree with you that gambling will leave one destitute. There are many people that owe everything they have accomplished in life to gambling, it all depends on individuals because not everyone will succeed in gambling, same goes for Bitcoin investment. That your brother failed in gambling does not mean that others are failing or will fail. There have been several stories of people who got wrecked from Bitcoin investment.

Your brother failed all the rules of gambling and allowed addiction to take over him. He even went as far as borrowing money to gamble; if he borrowed to invest in Bitcoin, the possibility that he will fail is very high

The point I'm making is that it is an individual thing and not general to everybody. Gambling is a big industry that people are making huge money from.
574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argentina has approved Bitcoin as their "official" currency. on: December 22, 2023, 06:02:20 AM
The caption is misleading because what they did is not the same as making Bitcoin their official currency. There are indications that Bitcoin will eventually become a legal tender there following the election of a Javier Milei,  a Bitcoin lover who is determined to tackle the economic situation of that country. Until Bitcoin is made a legal tender, it should be made clear that they only approved fhat contracts can be settled in Bitcoin. This does not mean that their currency have been replaced by Bitcoin.
575  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / What opportunities do you see around you? on: December 21, 2023, 08:24:05 PM
Nigeria is a very blessed country with virtually everything you can think of... from Natural resources to human resources. We really do not have a business with being poor.

The major problem with Nigeria is that we have not really had a leader with vision and the political will to pursue the Nigerian dream. All we have so far are people who want to enriched themselves and their cronies with no regards to what happens to the country, her citizens and her future. Now that leadership failed us, should we fold our hands and cry forever?

Look around you, you can practically see opportunities everywhere. I intentionally went for market survey this Christmas season to see the prices of things especially those with high demand. I was shocked to know that 4 months old broiler is sold for as high as N15,000. A rubber of garri goes for N1,700, a bunch of plantain goes for N5,000 while a bag of rice goes for N56,000. I quickly recurred growing up in the family of farmers, these were items we were playing with then that have turned treasures.

It is actually funny that the food production of Nigeria is not enough to feed the citizens.  Why then are people not going into farming? Why do we cry about unemployment when many people have lands they can cultivate in the villages yet lying fallow. I truly see a very big opportunity in farming.

There are many other areas that present huge opportunities that people are not tapping into. My mindset has changed so much lately as I have realised that Nigeria is like an untapped treasure. I'm from South South Nigeria and I can only say about my area. Those from other regions can narrate what they consider as opportunity in their place.
576  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Reflecting on the Devaluation and Disappearance of Naira Notes" on: December 21, 2023, 07:53:54 PM
let's talk about the devaluation and extinction of some of our beloved naira notes. Our country's economic situation has taken a toll, with the cost of living constantly rising. Despite the government's promises to address these issues, it seems like we're still facing challenges.

Recently, I came across this picture on my friend's status,

and I couldn't help but laugh. It hit me that it's been years since I last saw a 5 naira note. Back then, 5 naira could buy water, sweets, and even biscuits. Do you remember the days of kobo? 5 naira was considered a significant amount.
As time passed, the 10 naira note disappeared, and now it's the era of the 20 naira note bidding us farewell. What is causing this devaluation in our country? Even abroad, they still use cents, the smaller units of the dollar. Where are we heading in Nigeria? Can't the bad economy be fixed, or are we destined for more significant problems?
I still have this denomination at home, I'm keeping them in my archive for the memories only because they are practically worthless and cannot buy anything in the present Nigeria. Inflation is steadily killing our various currencies and I just hope we will not abandon the Naira soon. Those who are invested in Bitcoin or earning in dollars are truly lucky.

The cheapest thing people reference before was sachet water but as at today, there are people who cannot even afford it. I don't know where we are going as a people sha but I pray something is done very fast because depression is becoming the greatest killer in our country.
577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers trickily claims they wins the bet while they never did. on: December 21, 2023, 07:39:29 PM
Don't be deceived, not every gamblers who actually claims that they won really won.
Some falsefully speculates that they won just because they want to pave an ease to those who has been advising them to quit or limits gambling simply because the gambler has been unlucky to win instead he keep betting over and over without a good bankroll management in their gambling carriers.
They basically do this because they feels disturbed and inconveniences of the people's opinions and advices towards the gamblers unprofitable gambling experiences
This is a popular thing in social media especially Twitter. Scammers actually use this trick to woo their unsuspecting victims. With various design skills, they showcase various winning tickets with outrageous amounts claiming they have access to classified information.  Many are their victims that only realise, to their chagrin,  their mistakes and gullibility.

Anyone looking for an easy way in gambling will likely fall victim. Gambling is a process that does not have a shortcut.
578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 21, 2023, 06:53:02 PM
Liverpool vs Arsenal will certainly be a crucial match, a direct clash that could make it clear who really rules in the Premier League. Statistics in hand it is difficult to say which of the two will be able to win, the technical differences are really minimal. But I think Liverpool have a more compact team than Arsenal. On December 23rd we will know who can be elected Winter Champion
Liverpool against Arsenal is an interesting match that will shape the way the Premiership title will go this season. Checking their H2H record, Arsenal have only won Liverpool once in their last 9 meetings. This makes Liverpool the favorite to win the match but base on present realities, Arsenal have maintained a good performance this season and have a golden opportunity of winning the league. So I see them going all out challenge their closest rivals. Liverpool will however, not give yield easily, Mo Salah will do his best to win a trophy this season because there are indications this may be his last season in Anfield. A lot are unclear about the match and it will really be difficult to predict.
579  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have any one had experiences with banned bank/providers because of gambling? on: December 21, 2023, 03:48:47 PM
I find this very frustrating when i see people complain about their funding bank/provider account being banned because of gambling related activities. My younger just called me and told me his raven account was banned and he has been using it to deposit dollars in his gambling platform and also paying for subscriptions online. I want to get this clear.

Is it because of the gambling activities that got his account banned or it is because of the legitimacy of the funds that raven are more concerned about?

Is there any gambling platform that needs to be avoided?

Since i woke up we've been trying to contact their support for complaint and no response yet. Is there anyone with similar experience?
I think the issue is with Raven and not the gambling platform. It is possible they do not allow gambling activities and just noticed upon their routine check. I don't think it is the legitimacy of the funds because the chances of using illegal funds is slim.

What I feel is a weakness of Raven in this case is closing the account without notice. The right thing to do is to send an email explaining why they have to close the account. The best line of action is contacting their support like you have done and wait for what they will say is their reason for their action.

Is there any gambling platform that needs to be avoided?
If you go through comments in this forum, you will see many gambling platforms that have acted in a way that is unprofessional. The best is to use reputable gambling platforms that have stood the test of time with unparalleled transparency.
580  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Stay patient 🤞 on: December 20, 2023, 10:18:13 PM
There is no two ways about it. It is a popular saying that "the patient dog eats the fattest bone". In life, patience is virtue and what is needed to succeed in any venture. Take a clue from entrepreneur that just launched a business, without patience he is doomed to fail.

People who are impatient sometimes spend longer time to achieve success because they will be "jumping from pillar to pole" without mastering anything. So, the importance of patience cannot be over-emphasized.
