561  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you ever feel tired of waiting? on: October 13, 2023, 05:37:39 AM
I did it in the past and regretted it, even though my only source of income is signature campaigns. It's just that sometimes you can't stop the thoughts from circling around your head. I generally didn't bother to even look at it's price, but I've recently started feeling a little wearied. Perhaps it has to do with the life-induced stress that I've discussed in a previous thread. Who knows? How do you cope with waiting?

The main reason why you end up regretting your investment in the past is a lack of patience. If you are patient enough, you can still manage the money that you receive from the signature campaign. If I am not mistaken, you are paid weekly in the signature campaign. The money that is given to you every week can be managed up to next week before you receive another payment, which means you will be budgeting your expenses based on your income that comes to you weekly.

And again, if you have another source of income, you will enjoy your investment better because, when you invest, you should forget about the money and put it at the front of your mind, not at the back of your mind. The money you invested is like you borrowed it from someone and will bring it back after a long period of time with profit. For instance, in banks, we have what is called a fixed deposit account. When you want to put money in this account, you will make an agreement that this money will not be withdrawn no matter the condition until the year of agreement is reached, which is when you will receive your profit and your capital at the same time. So you can use that method to yourself and promise yourself that you will not withdraw the money until after some years and keep to your promise. With that, I think you are good to go.

_ share Bitcoin cautiously, people might think you want to scam them.[/quote
When you are sharing the knowledge or existence of bitcoin, you should be very careful. Don't try to be persuasive, but just tell them that they need to know about bitcoin, because if you are being persuasive, they will think that you are just persuading them to join. By doing that, you can be seen as a scammer because someone, especially those living in places that are not yet developed, doesn't know about bitcoin. So when you are trying to explain bitcoin to them, make sure you tell them the position and negative parts of bitcoin to avoid them suspecting you or seeing you as a scammer.

_ Attend meet up and conference, the Bitcoin community is awesome.
Yes, you have a point, but what you forgot to add is that you should engage in research in bitcoin and other cryptocurrency classes and courses. When you do all this, it’s like you have stepped up and are ready for anything that might come up. Don't say I have already engaged in class; there is no need for me to continue. Continuously knowing helps a lot because you will know more and have a point when it comes to defending bitcoin.

_ Don't Force Bitcoin on others, but be a resource to those who seek knowledge
This is what I always emphasise, because if you force bitcoin on someone, when that user loses his money, you are going to be blamed, but when you wait for those who need the knowledge and you inform them about bitcoin and they are willing to join, then you can teach them the knowledge you have learned so far and also direct them to where they can learn more, which is by introducing them to cryptocurrency courses and classes, and if possible, you can introduce them to bitcointalk so that they can know more about bitcoin.
563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Knowledge vs hodlings on: October 12, 2023, 10:12:33 PM

1. Understanding Bitcoin first gives you a more solid knowledge of security. and this is very important to avoid loss of funds.

I feel like this is the most important one, especially for beginners like me that still don’t have much knowledge about it, so for my little understanding, understanding bitcoin is supposed to be the first thing to do as it will be one to guide you on every step you want to take on your investment journey in both security and everything else, so you can see that after you have learned all these things, the next thing you will think of is to hold bitcoin as much as you can afford to lose because you will confidently store it in a safer wallet.
564  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: End of year wahala! Make we try de careful abeg on: October 12, 2023, 08:22:51 PM
The ones when de do ritual go de reason how to get victims when de go use for there end of year sacrifice and rumors of missing children go begin fly here and there.

Nah, the truth be told, my brother, that is the main cause of missing children. Every end of the year, most of us know, but we will just ignore and leave our children, siblings, and even our neighbours carelessly because we think nothing will happen. At the end of the day, we will be regranting our actions.

In Nigeria now, we should be more vigilant and put more eyes on our young ones, children, and even the older ones because you don’t know what their juju will request, and we should avoid making random friends. Your friend can use you to make money because of the situation in Nigeria, and we know this situation is not getting better but getting worse every day. We should pray for forgiveness from God and seek for protection.

Quote
The reason I decide to create this thread na base on the recent happening I de see online of recent. Just last night, a bolt driver was shot dead around my area with no clue on the course and then I came online this morning to see a video where a man's private part disappeared from him because someone touched him and supposedly took it in the process.
Stealing manhood is now a major thing happening in many parts of Nigeria because it happened several times in my state, and I usually see other incidents that happen on social media. I also see one recent one where the criminal who stole the manhood confesses that if they touch a person, the manhood will disappear, but it is still there. That is why they are not running, because the more they bet before they return it, the more money they will have when they reach home. That is the reason they are not running early, unless they see that they will kill them. That is when they would run, so please, let's stay safe.
565  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Is Better Than Digital Gold on: October 12, 2023, 07:48:17 PM
Because they are not the same, you cannot compare them. Gold is a real object, whereas bitcoin is a digital cryptocurrency. Only the wealthy have access to gold; otherwise, there is no reason why you would buy gold to keep as an asset when you are scrambling to get food. On the other hand, bitcoin is easy to get and can be used and started at any price that many individuals, especially young people, can afford. Like gold, you can even own a bitcoin without anyone knowing about it. People will find out if you own gold, which could put you in risk or leave you feeling unsafe in some areas.Additionally, selling bitcoin is stress-free and simple.

Bitcoin is significantly better than gold because I trust it more than gold, but in goal, you must see the purchasers carry the gold and sell, which is quite stressful.
566  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Does a bitcoin transaction have a source address? on: October 11, 2023, 06:26:19 AM
Good day, my fellow members in this forum. I need some clarification about bitcoin transactions.

I am aware that UTXO, which includes an input script and an output script, is the foundation of a bitcoin transaction. However, I recently discovered that Bitcoin Explorer lists source addresses for transactions. I wonder if the source address indicated there is the same as the one in the output script from the previous transaction, which also serves as the input script for this transaction.

567  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / HAVE YOU NOTICED HOW IMPORTANT BEING HUMBLE IS? on: October 10, 2023, 07:10:16 PM
I promise you that once you realise that nothing belongs to you or to your self, you will love being humble.

* We brag about our bodies, our homes, our property, our finances, our spouses, our partners, our kids, our parents, and everything else. But it comes to an end. Boasting! If you really think about it, you'll realise that we don't own any of those items. They are solely available to us in order to lessen the required restrictions of our stay here. (Earth)*

* Even if you purchase a piece of property or a home, you will only have paid rent for the time you are still on Earth. None of them are yours.

* If you purchase a car, you have only paid for transportation for the duration that the car or you will last. You are not the owner of it.

* If you marry your spouse, you only have each other until things fall apart or you pass away. One does not possess the other.

* If you have offspring, you have only satisfied the requirement for life to continue until death. You do not possess them. Because of this, the State still controls how you raise them.

* If you have money, you have only accumulated enough to buy what you desire for while long you have left on Earth. The Central Bank is the owner of the notes.

* Your pension is only guaranteed for life if you work and retire. When you die, it ends.

* The food in your stomach isn't yours, even if you eat and feel full. It must be expelled back to Earth.

The body itself, which you value so greatly, is not yours.

When the loan is due, the Earth will unquestionably reclaim its fragments.

Even the life we currently lead is a loan that will undoubtedly be repaid.

We should thus let go of our fear of losing anything in this life because we have nothing to lose. We shall either lose everything we believe to be ours, or everything we believe to be ours will be taken away from us at some point. That day is one that none of us are aware of.

So, if you feel like you have lost something, remember that nothing was really yours, not even your life. Never lose your head, your cool, your anger, your values, or your vitality.

Therefore, my fellow members in the forum, be modest; the affluent and the poor both belong to this life cycle.
568  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: cooking gas now 1000-1200 per kg on: October 10, 2023, 06:08:14 PM

569  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: As our economy dey so, Bitcoin na blessing to us? on: October 10, 2023, 05:54:18 PM
Yes, one of the greatest advantages of bitcoin is that it is decentralised, which is why many people trust it because no one or nation has control over it.

And again, for sure, bitcoin has helped a lot of people in Nigeria so far, and it is still helping others, most especially the youth. If not for bitcoin investment, many youths now in high institutions and universities will suffer a lot, but with it, those who learn to believe and trust bitcoin are making money, while those who think that bitcoin is a scam will always stay the way they are with our financial stability.

What I can just say is let us educate other friends of ours that are still seeing bitcoin in a negative way. If they are willing to join, then better if they are not, then we leave them.
570  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: 6 AM to 4pm job on: October 09, 2023, 11:31:13 PM
Jobs for our country here sucks , just imagine person comot for house as early as 6 A.M go work and e comot for work by 4pm enter road, meet traffic congestion, come reach house by 6pm. Does it really worth it with The minimum wage of 30k naira. This working system no dey favour our country piple. Na still same thing with company work.

You are even talking of worker that work for only 10 hours I no say dem no dey work oo but did you ever ask those that are working in the POS hmm my brother people dey suffer for Naija oo POS worker day work for 12 hours or more than that and the amount way them dey pay them go shock you because dey pay some of them 10k some 15k some 20k if you see say you collect salary for POS wey reach 25k nah for big POS you day work wey dey get high profile if not you no go collect more than that 15k

What I can say is even though the government no get job opportunities and we day try our best create self employment and other job opportunities to others we should consider the lot of work dey do and pay them in good amount that dey can also enjoy their life without suffering if not we will end up cheating our self every day and getting our workers in to depths
571  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Oyibo man call am tribalism on: October 09, 2023, 10:51:08 PM
You are talking about tribalism more than you ever thought of it because if you know what tribalism has done in Nigeria so far, you go cry tyre. Did you know that tribalism is one of the main causes of poverty in Nigeria? Tribalism is the main source of corruption, selfishness, self-interest, and many more things that have destroyed the hearts of all Nigerians. I can’t say half or some percent, but all Nigerians, no, no, no, you must have a bit of tribalism in your mind, and the main cause of it, I think, is the too many tribes that we have living in Nigeria.

True true for this country we dy go back because we we know people we dy capable to do most of the jobs for we country, but base on say him no from my place, we no go give am the job, we go come give less qualify person we go do nonsense wrk, or person wey no know anything about the job base on say na ur brother.
Am

This has caused a lot of unemployment in Nigeria. Many graduates out there without jobs are mostly affected by tribalism. I had a friend back then when I was studying for my diploma course. This friend of mine told me that after we graduate, there is already a well-paid job waiting for him. I asked him, "How comes when you have not achieved your certificate? He said to me that his father friend is the MD (managing director) of the organisation. The worst part of it is that someone who studied health courses getting a job in a construction organisation is so sad.
Though Nigeria has tribalism in their blood, all we can say is, My God, deliver us all in this country.
572  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice when you are going a bit far in gaming and betting on: October 09, 2023, 05:29:25 AM
Actually, I am not that good when it comes to aspects of gambling, but I know some things and I engage in research all the time, so with what you have drafted, I will try to explain it based on my understanding and also include what I can add up for better understanding.

Budget: set it BEFORE you start gambling and stick to it.

For sure, if you can write or draft a budget before gambling, you will enjoy it because if you lose too much, you will have a break due to your budget. As long as the money you have budgeted is finished, you will find your way, unless you are already addicted to gambling. If you are addicted to gambling, even though you draft the budget, you will not stick to it because, even though you are losing, you will be expecting to win and gain more. Instead of reducing the amount you spend to gamble, you will end up increasing it to gain more. Because you believe that you will win, but you will end up losing all your money in just a night.

Quote
Have a break from time to time, it is important to let your brain stop and consider.

Exactly because with a short break, you will have a chance to think about whether to continue or go back home, mostly when you discover that you are just losing without gaining. You need to have a break to think and also figure out your mistakes that make you lose.

Quote
Avoid drugs / drink as much as possible, they will make you loose some control inevitably.

Fact: Drugs can make you jump to wrong conclusions because when you are drunk or drugged, you will just conclude without thinking, and anything you do at that time, you will think that is the best solution because instead of using your brain to think, you will just conclude on what your mind says, but some do win while many lose. That is just the reality, and drugs affect the health of human beings, so let us abstain from as many drugs as possible.

Quote
Seek help if you feel you are no longer in control. Make a phone call to a friend or go out and speak with someone

This is another way to have a second-hand innovation because if you are with a friend who is also an expert in gambling, he will bring a suggestion that might be helpful for you. That is why you need to keep friends who know more than you to avoid falling into wrong conclusions or getting yourself into depth.

573  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cryptocurrency thought me Patience on: October 08, 2023, 02:36:07 PM
During my early days in the crypto industry I struggle to hodl crypto asset because I am naturally impatient person, of a truth I struggle to hodl, I mostly sell my asset at a loss.

One thing I observe is that the moment I sold. it at a loss, not quite long, the crypto asset start appreciating in price .
It got to a point I almost quit, the only thing that makes me not to quit is i believe that quiter are for failures.

Through reading and under going through crypto courses, I became more enlightened which made me hold high value asset like Bitcoin, Entheruem and Bnb.
Now when I think back of my struggle in holding an asset in my early days, I just laugh, because I lost a lot due to impatient.

My advice to every newbie out there, without patience you cannot be successful in crypto

Fact: If you are patient, you will enjoy it, and again, the mistakes you made the first time when you almost quit were due to a lack of knowledge. If you have engaged in studying and researching about bitcoin, at first you will understand more about it before you start, so with that, you will enjoy it and have many profits.

My advice to other newbies is that before starting anything in life, not only bitcoin and other cryptocurrency, you should engage in research and studies; it will help a lot, and you should also be patient because patience is the key to success.
574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I want to fulfill my mother's dream of building a house with Bitcoin. on: October 08, 2023, 05:16:41 AM
Actually, you came up with a nice idea to fulfil your mother’s dream. If I may ask, did she request or in any way propose that she want you to fulfil her dreams? If YES , then my advice to you is that you shouldn’t depend on the money that you are going to earn when you trade bitcoin but rather engage in other skills that will provide money and be saving because in trading you gain and lose because not all the time that you will be gaining but you will also lose and know other risks associated with trading bitcoin. With that, I think you will have enough money to start building the house.

If the answer is NO, focus and have more knowledge of bitcoin so that when you start trading or investing in it, you will have a high profit because, based on your story, you are from a low-income family. If that is the point, you don’t only need to build a house with bitcoin, but change your life and family story with bitcoin. You can change your family story from poor to rich. That is the truth.

May God help you as you embark on the struggle and journey that you are trying to take, which will change your life and also the lives of your family members.
575  Economy / Economics / Re: Agriculture vs oil on: October 07, 2023, 04:21:41 PM
Based on consideration, both are very important, but if you are going to choose which of them will increase the income of the country, I will go for agriculture because agriculture increases the income of the country faster than oil. If you have good mechanisms and strategies for agriculture, I bet you will prosper. In an instant, China, Brazil, the United States, India, and many of them produce agricultural products a lot and feed a large number of people in the country, but I am not terminating oil. I have more interest in agriculture than oil.
576  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Nor Reason money to use learn skill, pay am if you fit. on: October 07, 2023, 03:40:32 PM
This is the truth behind living in Nigeria, because if you have no handwork or skill you learn, even though you invest in bitcoin and get profits, you won’t have an idea on how to utilise the profit you have gotten because you will be thinking that you want to open a business, and when trying to open a new business, you have to do adequate research about the business. If possible, you should learn the business before starting; if not, you will end up losing everything and regret it because if you have engaged in any skill before, you can still practice it with the money you have received as a profit.

Because in Nigeria, the truth is that youth shouldn’t even think of jobs after graduation but rather start planning strategies for creating job opportunities for other people, which is by creating a self-employment skill that will bring income to you, to the country, and also reduce the issue of unemployment in the country. That can only be achieved by learning a skill and also practicing it.
577  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How una take de manage looking at your screen for a long time? on: October 07, 2023, 04:02:38 AM
Sometimes we will look at the screen for a very  long time and loads of water will drop down our eyes on a regular and headache will just come from Nowhere and sometimes our eyes will even swell up but we go just de fire down

Yes, this is true, but I have a thread in this forum that I discussed about this issue, but I will explain more. Prolonged use of a computer causes migraines due to the light, images, and many of them. I will quote it for you.

2. Vision problem: Too much focus on a computer or screen is bad for the eyes. According to research, prolonged exposure to a computer, tablet, or smartphone causes computer vision problems.
3. Headache: Too much sitting on a computer can also cause headaches and migraines. Some reasons that can cause headaches when using a computer may include illumination, patterns , images, etc.
 5. Radiation: most computer screens have cathode ray tubes (CRT), which emit X-ray radiation that is extremely bad for the health. Being exposed to radiation can increase one’s risk of cancer, migraines, and tumors. It can also lead to miscarriage or birth defects in pregnant women.

With this quote, I know you will understand more about the effects of prolonged use of computers, laptops, and even smart phones because they’re all called computers.

Quote
As we try to work safely and rightly, I would love to get your opinion on what you do when you start feeling pains in your eyes while working.

So solutions to this are: take a short break for sometime; frequently blink the eyes when you are focusing on the screen light; activate night mode (dark mode) at night; reduce the brightness of the phone that will fit the condition of the location and time (like if it’s in the day light, you increase the brightness, and if it's in the dark, you reduce it); Put a screen guide on your phone screen, computers, laptops, and others; it also helps.

579  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you manage your finances and family if your income is low range? on: October 06, 2023, 05:32:59 PM
Managing your household needs is simple if you can differentiate between what is very important in your life and those things that are just for the sake of a luxurious life and expensive things. When you, as the head of the family, have identified all these things and can differentiate them, then you will have to consider your income, whether it is daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. You can then create a budget for your income. With that, I think you can manage your life and provide the best possible for your family members. Even though it is low, you can still use the process.
580  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Some economical fact of household income on: October 06, 2023, 09:16:04 AM
Actually, as for the needs of the household, it will be based on the income of the family, so I will bring some knowledge to share on economics.
In economics, there are what we call WANT and NEEDS. These two words mean a lot, and everyone is supposed to know more about them,to know where they are going in this life, and again, after knowing this thing, there is BUDGET. I will also explain it.

 NEED
In economics, need is those things in life that you need, but it is not most likely that without them you can’t live or your life will be affected. This need comprises things like cars, expensive clothes, jewellery, gold, etc., so all these things that I have mentioned are needs; if you have them, you will still live, and if you don’t have them, you will still live. So these items are not most likely that someone had to put himself or herself in a bad act or even depression just to have them, so let's confabulate and understand those things and be able to differentiate them in our daily activities.

WANT
These are items or goods that, without them, you can’t live in life. They are food, clothes, shelter, etc., so all these are what you want in your life for a smooth life, even though you are not living an expensive life. Without these key things, I don’t think you can live.
And also, we do make mistakes in differentiating between want and need. For instance, if you have 45,000 naira and you have many things on your mind as a student, you need to use that money for a month. You need to change your phone to ease your educational research, and you are out of books and food to eat. Here,  you want books and food, while you need to change to a new phone.

BUDGET
Almost everyone knows what a budget is, but let me explain: a budget is a list you write for your needs due to the amount of income that comes to your wallet daily, weekly, monthly, and sometimes even yearly.
There are three types of budgets: balanced budgets, surplus budgets, and deficit budgets.

Balanced budget:this is budget done when your income is stable like salary workers that the budget will not exceed the total income that comes to your wallet.

Surplus budget: this is done when the budget is less than the income, which means that after purchasing all the budget, you will still have some extra money with you.

Deficit budget: This occurs when the budget is higher than the income that you do have, which means the money you have will be less than the budget, so you have to look for another alternative again.
