561  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First buy Bitcoin as a newbie, good way to start. on: January 24, 2024, 09:59:31 AM
Never invest in anything that you have zero knowledge even if it's Bitcoin.

OP isnt a newbie just as @Zaguru12 has said. He may be newbie in the forum then but has gotten enough knowledge from someone about how Bitcoin works. Most newbies doesn't have knowledge about exchange and some even do anyhow with their keys. Just like OP has said, it's a nice idea starting with Bitcoin as a newbie but you need little if not much about Bitcoin to get started so that you won't be risky your hard earn money on something you know nothing about.
Well I think from my POV, you don't actually have to be a newbie for you to fall under the category of person actually doing such stupid acts. Sometimes one can let guard down and eventually do all sort of nonsense even the ones they know fully well that can isn't worth doing. But mainly if you are lacking basic knowledge then investment on something you don't know about is as crazy as actually giving someone your money for free because you never can tell the risk involvement and how legit the project is.
In terms of learning you don't have to spend a whole month learning bitcoin and still you've not gotten any knowledge or idea on how bitcoin works, learning is a gradual process and if taken serious you'll know how to buy your first coin and safeguard the coin within a twinkling of an eye, this are the common reasons why people learn faster than some. I believe this forum was created for newbies and everyone to learn about bitcoin so if anyone is in this forum for months and still don't know how bitcoin works then the person is not even serious to learn.
Buy little and hold as a newbie not minding the profit or the price but focus more on learning, I think the op is trying to make an example like practice makes perfect, you don't need to buy huge as a newbie first or rather no newbie should be expected to buy aggressively.
562  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Interest is the common business in today's world? on: January 24, 2024, 09:16:18 AM
Surprising how you painted interest as an illegal or indecent act, it's okay if your religion or country condemns it but it doesn't necessary mean everyone will view interest as an indecent act, firstly have you ever asked anyone who get involve in taking loans regular cause they're the ones in need and they feel the loan can be of help, honestly speaking have seen a critical situation that needs money but since no one offered to help the person had to take a loan to save his life, just imagine no one offered to lend him the money with your mindset do you think the person would be alive.
Interest is not the one causing corruption in today world so I can't have anything against interest, in terms of loans the lenders are the ones facing challenges and it depends on the kind of person you choose to lend your money, some with an evil mindset can decide to run away with your money. Interest can't be ban because the government benefits from loans through paying of tax and banks has benefited also.

565  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Are online banks slowly replacing commercial banks on: January 23, 2024, 09:18:34 PM
Have said this before that online banks will takeover commercials banks in terms of network, have experienced this several times, even when I'm stranded and I need the money urgently my bank will always disappoint. I use to experience this and during the cashless policy in Nigeria I created an opay account and ever since network issue has never been a problem, comparing traditional banks online system and fintech banking system still doesn't make any difference in terms of network.
Secondly transaction fee should be considered also, seeing the free transaction fee commercial banks are offering, it seems they want to compete with fintech banks but let's wait if this offer will stay for long. One thing have observed usung commercial banks and I have never experience such from opay is the strange calls I get from a banking agent it's either the person wants me to request for a loan or the person want to get my personal information like my BVN number using a thickish method, sometimes I laugh after receiving such calls but with this little point you'll know that using fintech banking app saves streee
566  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paying house rent with bitcoin is it appropriate? on: January 23, 2024, 01:46:15 PM
I think we don't need to be too strict about what to pay. In short, Bitcoin or cash is just to serve our lives. If they determine that the Bitcoin is used to pay for expenses in life, then it is completely normal. Who knows, maybe they still have Bitcoin as a form of storage asset and do not use it for any other purpose.
There is no need to argue about the value of Bitcoin, but if you just hold Bitcoin without doing anything, and don't really enjoy what Bitcoin brings you, are you being too strict with life itself? yours? Everything becomes worthless if we or our loved ones are no longer there.

I don't get your point but the op is trying to say no one should buy or pay a rent using bitcoin and with the idea the op used I agree, using bitcoin to pay a rent sounds as a loss whereby the landlord is gaining more, if I may ask what happened to fiat, the person doing such will regret later if care is not taken like if he doesn't have another bitcoin left or money to buy another bitcoin then the person will regret.
Bitcoin is one of the value asset and looking at the amount of rents now is just too high so in my opinion no one should accumulate such huge amount of bitcoin and decide to pay a rent that worth thousands with bitcoin.
567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do they managed ? on: January 23, 2024, 01:25:00 PM
Since you used business as a reference, I believe those business cannot hold each bitcoin sent or rather they'll sell cause demand never seems to end and just imagine you keep holding bitcoin what will you use to buy the goods, note you're dealing with business not personal use, I believe each time they get paid with bitcoin they convert the bitcoin to fiat to be able to rebuy those goods.
Hardly I see small shops accepting bitcoin and mostly supermarket that accept bitcoin as a means of payment so you don't have to worry seeing a mall or supermarket accepting bitcoin, in any situation where you see a little shop accepting bitcoin then the person is a bitcoin enthusiast and they also have some strategy of handling such.
568  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: January 23, 2024, 01:11:51 PM
There are many people who invest in bitcoins but withdraw money from that invested bitcoins to feed their family money I think their bitcoin investment is not worth it. So all of us bitcoin investors should keep in mind that when we need money we don't have to withdraw from our bitcoin investment.
Of course you are right but however the reason why most investors normally ran into trouble in times of there Bitcoin investment is that they always think in one direction instead of evaluating what could possibly happen if taking some certain decision while investmenting because for every investment or business to be successful there most be some proper planning such as having a back up strategy that if something should happen along the line it could be easily taking care without interrupting your investment.

However one of the things i understand from most investors is that they have this feeling that by using DCA strategy they are completely saved from any unforseen circumstances, actually it doesn't work that way and perhaps even if you are using DCA you could still ran into trouble if there is no proper planning because there is no way you will not ran into trouble if you invest all your money using DCA strategy without any emergency funds that will take care of other needs if arises.
Have always thought of this idea and why will anyone want to withdraw their money from bitcoin investment cause it sounds strange and at the same time it's likely that the money used for their investment was met for something else, with this kind of strategy and mindset how will the investment stand for long. People usually make this mistake when investing. I believe they see bitcoin investment as gambling where you stake your money and it's either you win or lose cause why will anyone want to invest in bitcoin for short term when they fully know bitcoin investment is for long term.

I believe everyone can partake in bitcoin investment like low salary earners and the ones that cannot control their emotions can also invest, when dealing with emotions in bitcoin investment there's a way to control such and using the DCA strategy for low salary earners is the best whereby after receiving your salary you outlist a budget monthly for your investment. The only common reason why people sell each time they want to hold is lack of finance or rather they lack management when it comes to their investment. Such situation can be taken care of especially if the person is willing, this is where the proper planning can come in and the person should be adviced to invest with what they have and never to pass their limit but as time goes on whereby the person have gotten a good job that pays well then the person can always rewrite another budget.
569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: About Altcoins Investment Experience on: January 23, 2024, 07:39:16 AM
Like have said before this is my first experience and I have zero plans of holding some random altcoins with no value except from Ethereum and not yet, I will still wait for some time cause I have not even study about the market. I know a lot of altcoins since I started making research but I still don't want to get involved in any coins yet.
The value of altcoins depends on the price of bitcoin so if some altcoins fail to rise when bitcoin has reached another ATH then you will know that you've been spending on something worthless that's why it's advisable to never spend your money on every coins or new coins but focus your investment more on bitcoin first before buying trusted Altcoins.
570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Look out for a good Altcoin and buy now! on: January 23, 2024, 07:24:48 AM
All the altcoins you mentioned are good especially Ethereum and with the current value now it's best to start investing, when we speak of good Altcoins I believe new projects should not be mentioned and even if you feel like investing you should be careful and invest at your own risk, if truly you have the faith that these coins will reach an ATH then you should spread the investment and not only invest on Ethereum but rather go for bitcoin with some additional two you mentioned and bitcoin should take the highest amount since we've not known the strength of those coins you mentioned, so if one doesn't go as plan you still hope on bitcoin but Ethereum is guarantee no doubt.
571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you do with your altcoin holding with low value on: January 23, 2024, 07:11:48 AM
You said since this coins has no value the best is to hold and I think that's what everyone will do with the mindset that it will gain value someday and without any value you should still hold, if this coin has the value to trade then what's stopping you from trading. Taking advantage of the market is just the right thing to do as an investor cause if you choose to hold and hold are you 100% sure that the coin will gain value or you just love holding it. If talking about the end of the campaign and the fall of the coin I have zero idea about that information but I don't think it's right and it will not happen.
572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it even possible to offer 10% daily reward? on: January 23, 2024, 06:49:57 AM
Firstly you mentioned that the platform is new and if I may ask how did this platform generate this kind of money within a twinkle of an eye, sometimes the things we hear about new site should be taken for granted, this offer sounds too good to be real. I think you should avoid such silly offers and focus on bitcoin to grow your investment plan if you really want to invest but if you're looking for a free offer you'll be a victim of those ponzi scheme we see online.
Make your research first and despite the fact they're looking for investors and they still want their site to grow there's another motive attach to this offer and I can never believe such
573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin hidden gems. on: January 23, 2024, 06:36:41 AM
Regardless of everyone opinion you should decide for yourself and sometimes when looking for hidden gems you should be careful, if you're asking which one is guarantee for another ATH then you should go for Ethereum, have made some research about Ethereum since it's one of the trusted altcoin and it likely they will experience another ATH 2024_2025 depending on the bullrun.
But they're other altcoins hidden with potentials and yet no one has ever thought of those coins, because some investors are scared of taking risk no doubt, to be honest I will rather go for trusted coins than searching for hidden gems.
574  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 22, 2024, 09:29:41 PM
For Liverpool I think the important match will be on the 2nd of February, they meet Arsenal and everything can turn upside down there, as it usually happens in such matches. Considering that Arsenal are only 5 points behind, a win over Liverpool could give them a lot and I think they will not miss this opportunity
What if they end the match with a draw?? Both teams have a lot at stake so in a bid to not end the match without any point they will both want to draw , Arsenal is getting close to the top of the table again after the did dropped some points and went some steps behind the top spot on the table but Liverpool has been gradually going up till they are now at the top of the table and they are definitely going to maintain

I would also love to see the out come of the game between these two teams because I have seen their performance so far this season a d Arsenal have been able to defeat Manchester city which was considered a very tough team for them so let's see what they will do with Liverpool.
A lot of people will say Liverpool will definitely win and that's what everyone will think cause the last time Arsenal and Liverpool played their previous match Liverpool won but Arsenal dominated, seeing the performance of Arsenal against crystal palace shows Arsenal are fully ready but do they have what it takes to beat Liverpool, I can't predict the future of this match for now. I don't think Liverpool will want to leave the top and they'll do everything in their power to win and Arsenal at the other hand will fight to gain more point so this match will be very tough and interesting to watch.
575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do i handle my first gambling experience on: January 22, 2024, 09:10:31 PM
Hello senior citizens and my fellow newbies gambler's, now I gat a straight forward question for you all.
How do I prepare myself for my first gambling experience?
What are the things I should expect as a first time gambler?
How do we react to my first gambling results be it winning or lose?
Thank you all for your helpful opinions.
There's nothing much when dealing with gambling as a newbie but right now you need an advice more than playing games, you did the right thing cause you'll get different opinions here but it depends on you if you'll listen or not. Firstly you should be able to control your emotions cause you'll get a lot of loss than winning, secondly don't gamble with money met for something else thinking you will win the game, very wrong impression cause this habit has ruined a lot of marriages and has cause a lot of people to take their life's.
You should never pay much attention or rather visiting a casino shop daily just because you want to gamble, this act will only make you to love gambling and you might be addicted to gamble
576  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: POWER OF CORRUPTION on: January 22, 2024, 08:48:11 PM
They're different meaning attached to the word power corrupt, this is just natural and even you wey dey talk if power enter your hand today your behavior go change and you go begin do wetin you no believe say you fit do, this is not about mindset or not but there's something special attach to power and it has made a lot of people to regret cause this power and attitude works together.
Power corrupt no doubt let's use our politicians for example, when it's time for campaign they'll make different kinds of speech to buy the heart of masses but after all this and power is been vested on them you'll see a change of attitude and this attitude can affect the nature at large so power truly corrupt.
577  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: No because of say you no get profits now take sell your coins. on: January 22, 2024, 07:50:44 PM
This bitcoin investment no be work so I no see why person go put hope for bitcoin investment, bitcoin na digital currency and the major reason why people dey hold bitcoin na the volatility nature and na hedge against inflation, sometimes when people procrastinate about their investment that one na their concern cause na wetin go bring benefit and yet you still dey procrastinate. Profit or not any person wey choose bitcoin investment suppose know say bitcoin price dey fluctuate and patience na the best when dealing with investment like this.
578  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Have you benefited from SOCIAL MEDIA AD? on: January 22, 2024, 07:31:34 PM
I don't think you will get any answer here concerning ads promoting investment etc, I dey watch those videos sometimes but I never carry my money invest or buy some random stuff online, I no too believe all this online stuffs cause most of the things wey them dey talk no be truth na the only reason and you no know who dey really control the ad online and when you put your money it's likely you will not get your money back, lol very funny, things like this dey really happen na why you no suppose trust some kind things online, if you really want to know about those ads I think you should make use of your google to check out for feedbacks of different people after investing but for me I will watch but will never invest.
579  Economy / Economics / Re: Passion for skills. on: January 22, 2024, 07:13:13 PM
I believe everyone knows the importance of learning skills but what's still keeping people waiting or rather what's stopping people to learn different skills, I will use myself as an example first, have always wanted to learn something new and I would love to learn more about baking but sometimes the stress and schedule for the day won't give me a chance, this is normal for every human and due to the expenses you can't withdraw from your current job to learn something new, although learning new skills takes time for you to be an expert but it's best to always stay patience, I know a lot of people who earn daily from designing clothes, Computer skills etc.
The best idea I'm thinking is to reschedule my working time so I can sign up for an online baking class first before paying for tutorials.
580  Economy / Economics / Re: Reasons for personal financial accountability? on: January 22, 2024, 06:59:33 PM
Accountability happens to be an important figure that indicates how well everyone makes use of the resources they have in their possession. Don't be surprised that some people who earn very decent amount still struggle to survive due to the inability to give proper account of how they've spent their money.
It is an individual responsibility to decide about their financial management. A dump dream of someone's someone else target. Many has reached level of prominent accountabilities but yet they misused it either because they hope everyday would be a blessed day as usual or they lacks the ability to take control of their financial possessions and at a level of their live races they looses it all to no profitable accountability.
Sometimes we don't have to depend on the future when dealing with money rather we should think of the present, people with this mindest about the future and spend carelessly hoping for blessed days don't know the consequence or rather they can't limit their expenses.
If any one fail to give reasons how and when their money got finished then there's a serious problem cause the problem has passed when the person should learn about financial management. Learning about financial management doesn't guarantee full trust on how to manage money but rather you should be the one to work on yourself first personally before any advice can come in. The issue with financial accountability should not be a burden to anyone rather always learn to spend wisely.
