562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SKY] Skycoin Official Release on: December 18, 2016, 03:03:15 AM
Welcome to Skycoin!
This is the official channel for information on the release of Skycoin (SKY).

About Skycoin:

Skycoin (SKY) is a next-generation cryptocurrency. Skycoin has no mining, no scripting language, and no 51% or DDoS vulnerability. It is a pure coin that has been designed from the ground up to resolve key structural issues in the current generation of digital currencies and create a sustainable, immutable value store.

Skycoin is also the currency of Skywire. Skywire is the new distributed Internet, designed to distribute content quickly, safely, and anonymously. Skycoins will be distributed over time to participants in the Skywire network who provide connectivity and services.

Key Features and Benefits:

-   Security and Privacy: Skycoin has been designed from the ground up in Golang, using time-tested cryptographic standards.
  • Skycoin cannot be 51% attacked – no matter how much money or hashing power an adversary has, they cannot reverse transactions.
  • No duplicate coinbase outputs, no transaction malleability, no signature malleability, and significantly reduced edged cases.
  • Skycoin has native support for G Maxwell’s “coin join” algorithm to provide a higher level of user anonymity compared to similar cryptocurrencies.

-   Usability and Sustainability: Skycoin uses neither proof-of-work (POW) nor proof-of-stake (POS), featuring the first new consensus algorithm since PeerCoin. The new network consensus algorithm is based on Ben-Or’s decision procedure. This facilitates two key benefits:
  • With transaction confirmations in as low as 4 seconds and no transaction fees, Skycoin is ideal for Point of Sale (POS) and IOT applications.
  • By avoiding proof-of-work, Skycoin does not waste electricity by consuming exponentially growing, unsustainable amounts of electricity through mining.

-   Not just a coin: Skycoin tokens are both a cryptocurrency and a token.
  • Skycoin is the currency and facilitator of Skywire, a new alternative Internet, giving it practical application beyond a digital currency.
  • The Skycoin ledger is just a component of a larger application ecosystem.

-   Supply and Distribution: The total supply of Skycoin is capped at 100 million coins. They can neither be created nor destroyed, and are totally immutable. Skycoins will be disbursed to participants in the Skywire network who provide connectivity and services.

About Skywire:

Skywire is the new Internet. It is designed to distribute content faster, safer, and anonymously.
It is composed of 2 key components: Aether, a peer-to-peer replicated object system, and Skynet, a distributed networking backbone.

Aether powers the distribution of immutable, anonymous web content. Applications include video streaming, message boards, chats, and any other service that can be created on the traditional Internet.

Skynet is a source routed, public MPLS network which allows every user to essentially become their own ISP. It is built on a whole new networking stack and in its own namespace.

While Aether and Skynet can run independently, their full potential is reached when they are combined to create a truly indestructible network.

Progress

Skycoin and Skywire has been in development for over 4 years. We are at the precipice of our initial release. Stay tuned for access to exclusive ICOs and demos of Skywire technology.

566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU mining on: December 06, 2016, 07:45:14 AM
If you manage to compile a CPU miner in Raspbian or another distro, let us know the hashrates.

I can't imagine even the Pi 3 could mine very fast, but am curious to see what it can do. A small overclock and some active cooling might surprise us.
will do mate
567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] +++ HUB: +++ on: December 06, 2016, 06:29:00 AM
you say your coin not mining
not ico selling, not bounty not signature campaign
not open all about free coin giveaway

so how your distibution coin, or 100% coin control in dev
i
If you actually read the full thread , there are no coins per say they would be created when they are basically needed , so there is no coins for translations,no coins for sig campaigns  and no air drops , its more like a tool to be used for cryptos than a currency! !

People need to actually read it and the idea is actually a great idea , a lot of work but something to think about..

Thanks for the thread probly one of the most worth while thread to read and create discussion  and thought  about in like well this year just about!!
568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU mining on: December 06, 2016, 01:44:12 AM
It would take too many Pi's to amount to anything. Scaling CPU mining is difficult because there is
so much overhead required for each CPU. It's probably better to go with the cheapest, most efficient
platform that supports a real CPU, all the mining SW is already supported. A cluster of mobile i7's
would be interesting.
Yeah thats what im finding but ill look at it from all angles just something im interested in see where it can go but thanks for the feed back
569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU mining on: December 05, 2016, 11:49:34 PM
Thanks for the reply guys , yeah probly goes back to when i mine BTC blocks in the dark ages of cryptos , i just like the idea , got rigs for sha, scrypt and X's but was just looking at CPU mining again , might as a project build a Pi cluster just to test it out and see what happens , got a few ideas , but if I find anything interesting ill post it here if anyone is interested

570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / CPU mining on: December 05, 2016, 12:12:39 PM

An interested in cpu mining and wondering about building a cpu rig , to say

any feed back welcome

573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: cpumining.io - Cloud Zcash Mining Contracts - Paypal accepted on: November 27, 2016, 08:43:38 AM
Hi,

I need Promo Code for making my new registration on cpumining.io
How can i get?
Moreover, only paypal accept? i don't have paypal then how can i pay for contract?

Hi kay5ive,

You can use this code :

EN458RF

Paypal allows to pay by credit card, prepaid cards and bank account. Are you satisfied with these payments methods?
No, these services are not supported in my country. The cost i think is much high to use these services.

Which online payment method is used in your country? I receive a few requests to add Payza.com which would also add the payments in Bitcoin.

Is the power added immediately ??

575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: November 22, 2016, 07:07:25 AM
I hate to say this, but I literally predicted this hours before the big dump started happening last week.   It was pure common sense that some of the internal powers that be were artificially pumping the price at regularly scheduled intervals until it hit critical mass and they began the dumps.  Charts and trends don't lie.   Now many of the ICO holders, seeing as how the price has dropped more than 50% in a week will continue dumping at an accelerated rate in order to cash out while they still have skin in the game and can make a profit.  Expect further mass dumps to take place in the immediate future.

Noted and IGNORED!!
576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: November 15, 2016, 07:13:28 AM
so .Net frame is ready. Is this the one that poloniex required to be submitted in order for a new cryptocurrency to be added in their listings? Its quite mindboggling that poloniex is missing this astronomical rise of Stratis. Better than LISK which has been dormant in their listings.

No it wouldnt be one of polo's requirements, they are funny with adding coins always have been , they work to there own schedule and rules !!
577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [IoP] Fermat presents the Internet of People App Token on: November 13, 2016, 03:04:51 PM
I've added you "lord skull" even on skype mate! ;-)

Thanks mate for your time and help, everything is running sweet and will be involve , the concept is impressive and step above!!
578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AltEx The Altcoin Exchange (formerly BTCPool.Exchange) on: November 13, 2016, 01:40:52 PM
Hi All, a quick update from the devteam for you all.

As we knows the cracks are showing, now the milage is racking up were starting to see what would otherwise be minor issues causing nock on problems, rather than rush to fix some of them, ive been sat in a cold damp dark room watching things happen in real time and understanding these problems much deeper.

Its becoming aparant our code in areas is excessive, and coupled with the design overall its what you might call lazy, it takes to long to complete and delays other tasks, which has a nock on effect. Another issue is slow returns from the database, and even slower writes to the database.

In short despite our recent major hardware upgrade were running out of the things we need most, so the changes have been made, and deploying them will take a little time but heres what you need to know

Right now "StakeEngine" was a single application, this is no longer the case, we have separated out about 80% of the code to a brand new Application Layer affecitonatly called the StakeEngine Continous Execution Application Layer, this layer removes a ton of code from the primary application, all its logic, and every last ounce of jobs that have to execute.

The frontend will now do nothing more than serv data.

The application layer is websocket driven, and independent, no longer are all jobs executed to a specific schedule, they are executed continuously, without constraint (this has accounted for a 480% overall performance increase)

Your talking a lot about performance issues, when the simple things done work!!!!!

Quite right, but in this case the performance issues and "fat" code in some area are the direct cause of those issues, with sechuled jobs not finishing on time or in sequence errors are happening, or processing is starting out of sequence meaning data it depends on hasn't yet been prepaird etc.

I expect almost every major issue to just vanish, a quick list for you all

The withdrawals page, i know theres a bug in there, your being returned to an invalid page, this will be resolved in this window.

StakePayments will get slowed down to 6hour rounds, same with APT.

All wallets will be restarted and audited (updated as needed as well)

2 new IIS FrontEnds

a 32Ghz Application Layer

2 New Database Servers

Several hundred minor changes and tweeks, improved bundles, improved javascript some updated frameworks new features, and game updates

There will be an 8 hour window startomg fro, say 18:00 gmt until 00:00 gmt
