I did quite well with GAW, made more money with them than on bitcoin investments people were so enthusiastic about.

Meh. I buy a new laptop every 4 years, pass the old one on to whoever needs it. If it plays MECC games, I like it.
Reminds me, I need a new computer, want to sell all these old ones and just buy something simple and portable. No more desktop bull crap. Laptops are even more noisy than desktops, break easily and overheat. I prefer my desktop ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

You sound like one of those people who will keep saying bitcoin is still up even if it falls to 10$. "Look at 3 year graph, bitcoin was worth $5 in 2012!" ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) How can I sound like anything when I am writing my thoughts? At any rate, both the good and bad numbers do not lie. On a personal level, do I wish BTC and other legitimate coins were worth more? Yes... Are the BTC values we saw over the past year realistic in a real-world use environment? Unlikely. Many within the mainstream markets believe BTC should settle around the $200 point in order to make it more viable and realistic for crossover adoption. Only time will tell if their positions will define where BTC (and others) actually end up. The bottom line is we all started somewhere. The fact that the overall value of BTC is still up when compared to the length of time it was below US$20 should not be dismissed. The key (in my opinion) is to be grateful if you got in early and look beyond this blink of time in the big picture of crypto adoption. In 10-15 years, we will all look back and regardless of our varying geopolitical stances, we will at the very least have the ability to say we were here (there) and we experienced it all first hand. If you haven't figured it out by now, I am not in this this solely for the money. I want LEGITIMATE crypto, from the ideology to the evolving technology, to succeed and have been working for years to support of that. From Dogecoin, with a community of people who "get-it" in regards to what good a crypto can do, to LTC and BTC with the communities who paved much of the way for others to follow, it is what it is. Enjoy the ride, eat some popcorn, and contribute if you have something to add. No one said it wasn't going to be a bumpy ride. However, it will be up to us to make it as smooth as possible for those who follow in the future. ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) Scott- That pretty well sums it all up, well said ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) Didn't expect such detailed explanation, kudos! I started at $600 so to me it looks like one big mistake. There's nothing wrong with $500 BTC, we'll switch to mBTC sooner or later anyway. If it ever enters mainstream the price should go through the roof, simply because not many people will be able to own a full bitcoin. Limited supply will drive the demand. Bitcoin we have at the moment is plagued by scams, hacks, uncertainty and of course FUD, like multiple Chinese bans responsible for a series of crashes last year. Hopefully it's not the end.

I read quite a few posts on this topic, not all - but a lot. There's two thinks I think you can't argue:
- There's constant bashing. There's no contra-arguments/posts. It's black only, no white at all - really? - Community tries to create a cap as big as possible between BCT and HT. There seems no interest in arguments or content at all - also vice versa.
I tried to figure out where it all started, but I can only find shouting, bad language, frustration and greed. Is there anyone on this topic objectively interested in crypto currency? If so, please step up. This is ruining crypto community as a whole.
It's a crypto forum, full of greedy people, but I could not but notice the same thing. Some people have low self confidence and need to make a meme about someone each day to keep going. That's why you're seeing things like "garza is ugly, stupid and makes spelling mistakes", but what it really means is "I may not have ferraris but at least I have better education" ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Nothing to worry about. Itīs just currently in a down cycle. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi1213.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fcc466%2Fgaldur%2Fbitcoin-1.png&t=663&c=L6viqm-_mxBQ5Q) If you are going to publish graphs, please use the 2yr span as well. Overall BTC is still UP so, yes, this is simply a down cycle. Scott- You sound like one of those people who will keep saying bitcoin is still up even if it falls to 10$. "Look at 3 year graph, bitcoin was worth $5 in 2012!" ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

Who knows, maybe OP is right Someday someone will call the bottom, it's inevitable, just like the fact that bitcoin will go up. It may go up from 200 or 100 but it will.

How fortunate for you, unfortunately for me, I had just given 5 more BTC to LTCgear about a week before my last payout happened on the 19th of December. I think my overall losses for this little snafu is pushing 5 thousand USD. Something like that. Not to mention it ruined multiple assets that I'm involved in in the BURST and NXT markets...
But, alas, you're right. Time to move on.
(...)
No worries, if the downtrend continues your 5 BTC will be worth $500 in a few months, so they might one day come back and pay their dues.

if it goes to 0 i will wonder what the hell happened to the internet.
It will not go to 0, but we could grind lower. We are still in a down trend. It will be interesting to see where the bottom is. Interesting and a bit scary! People have called the bottom so many times in 2014 that's getting really hard to predict what will the real one be. I thought we were through when the week MACD briefly turned free in December, but the damn thing is just a giant red wave now... To be honest I wish the market would hurry up and decide. I can't see any reason for the market to go up, like others, I'd just like a confirmation of the trend to change then I can get back to whatever I did before Bitcoin ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) It seems the majority is waiting for the trend to show signs of reversal and that's exactly why there is none.

Any time is a good time to buy, as long as you are prepared to hold long term. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) How long is "long term". 6 months? A year? 2 years? ATM it looks like not many people are interested in buying. People were telling others to buy last year and the price has been falling ever since.

I suppose we need to wait until they restore it...
If they really suspended because it's unprofitable you'll have to wait until bitcoin gains value and this might never happen. Some cloud minings closed when bitcoin fell to $350. It wasn't profitable back then so it can't be now.

A very nice car, but probably wfor the warmer climate. If I had it right now I'd spend an hour a day cleaning the salty mud we have on the streets in winter. ![Angry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/angry.gif) Not to mention the price. It costs as much as a house.

I wouldn't even go crossfire. I have a single R280 and am yet to find a game that doesn't run on high settings. Dual cards will only cost more and need more power. If you want something really powerful get a single R290x

Said the same thing at mt gox I f I remember correctly all your coins are secure. 24 hours becomes days days become weeks weeks bec0me bankruptcy.
That's right. They should at least keep updating the twitter. 2 days ago they said it will take 2 days tops. Now there's no new updates and no working exchange. If there are delays there should be apologies and explanations, not silence.

BIT-X.com gives out a bonus 0.1 BTC to the top 10 posters every month! Please add that in ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I have added it to the OP. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Isn't such rule encouraging people to spam?

I like bitcoin and it's a good long term investment it's just not doing well at the moment. Internet became big and now it's time for the internet money We will surely see bitcoin trade for $500+ again, but it may take months or even years.

It's great to see just how principled you folks are over here.
The majority of you have said, time and again, that you wouldn't touch anything GAW-related with a '1000 foot pole' yet you all are knowingly participating in Paycoin by mining, renting to paycoin miners...
Let's just call a spade a spade - not one of you has the discipline to keep your angry, grubby hands out of the bucket. Your stated intentions with this thread were to make sure no money fell into GAW's hands while people get scammed (something you've failed to prove, BTW) - and now each and every one of you is showing your true colors by being the same greedy assholes you say the folks participating in Paycoin are.
I will not visit this thread again. I've seen enough. Not a single one of you has any moral high ground to stand on anymore (not that you did before either - but the events of the last five days have unmasked every single one of you for what you are - trolls in the truest sense of the word).
Alienesb - you should have the brains to at least anonymously mine at suchpool dipshit - to come here and claim to be a hater to be with your chosen kind, then rent 50TH to mine Paycoin there - well, you are the biggest dipshit of all of these guys. You turned your back on GAW, became a buddy to those here, then you're turning coat yet again by mining the shit out of Paycoin.
To hell with the lot of you. Time will prove out GAW and Josh's work. You guys can scream expletives from the sidelines all you want.
didnt i tell u once GOOF to shut your rat trap u pc skinner sideways clown -dekay- What happened to your old account? ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

I considered myself a GAW supporter and in the end all the haters are mining Paycoin and I'm not

Profitability is relative. If you mean getting more coins that you spent on the miner, then yes it can happen. If you want to profit in fiat it may be a bit harder ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
