561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: L3+ Firmware problems OR Hash Board Hex File Problems? on: February 23, 2020, 04:59:31 PM
You might be able to find older firmware for your miner on this github repo:

https://github.com/jeffpcyo/asic-firmware

(I am not affiliated with that repo or person in any way and can't judge if these are really all original files, DYOR and be careful!)

Also downgrading from newest firmware for L3+ involves some tricks, see this post for more info:

I thought he was sharing good tips as a good guy ! But no way.. I was confident because of what I read in the newspapers and all, but I think he already lost his "million" if he really had it one day ! He is not that famous in Switzerland but anyway his name is Leonardo Vörstratten Von Sylva, on part can be a nickname I give it because we have to prevent for such people stealing for living ! I feel so bad, lot of hours of work spent for nothing, all my savings ! And various times he told me that he wired the amount on my account but nothing arrived like 4 times, he even made fake transfer documents, he is a liar and a thief.

So that's this little bragging brat then:

https://www.20min.ch/digital/news/story/Walliser--17--wird-mit-Bitcoins-zum-Millionaer-17710477

Do us all a favor and sue the shit out of him and possibly his parents!
I am pretty sure police might be interested to talk to you about him and his "business ventures".

For the future always keep the crypto ABC in mind:

- Assume nothing
- Believe nobody
- Challenge everything

Good luck!

Number go down. Makes me want to experiment with alcoholism again.

Don't even try. Calm yours down with some weed. You will be too lazy to panic  Grin
Alcohodl just makes you over-emotional, triggering a premature sell.  Shocked

That's not true! Alcohol is fine as long as you make sure to drink enough to see double figures, so that price looks something like 95'950'000. Though this could cause some overexcitement leading to want to sell as you say. Best to stop drinking when only some numbers start to appear doubled.

Otherwise any drug keeping you busy enough no to want to check prices for an hour or two will do just fine. For example a nice dose of benzodiazepine could make you wake up on Thursday and getting excited about price being at 8900 as you only remember when you last checked it was like 3500..

There are several developers auditing NYC code. One of such, that mentioned that something was "wrong" in the code, never provided the line-by-line he promised and is no longer assisting with the project. Several large exchanges have recently added NYC, so I believe there is nothing to worry about. Open source protects us all more than most realize.

Thank you for clarifying this.

A few libraries missing?

Something wrong in the code?

tick tock...

P.S. ever feel like you wasted a few years of your life spinning your wheels?   Grin

Any idea what the NYCoin Devs might be referring to? I will have full report, line by line, within next 24 hours.... Everyone is going to know EXACTLY what was found anyways...

For the moment I just sent you a warning in the form of a red trust.
If you continue your evil game of spreading misinformation (or holding back information that puts miners and pool ops in danger) I will create a flag against you.

I have given you the benefit of doubt for too long and been asking kindly and politely to back up your statements, be it depositing money into Yobit or your allegations about the source code.

If you either post your promised report or withdraw from your allegation I am willing to consider removing the red trust.

Did the issue resolve itself? Live nodes are hard coded into v1.3

cryptoid will have the best live nodes, you can find them here:

Nope. Last block was 1 Feb.

What does your debug.log say?
Any hints there?

Just got news from a friend in Shenzhen:
Almost all companies in and around Shenzhen are closed down by government until at least 2nd week of March!
No electronics going out from there in the next weeks.

I believe the impact for the economy worldwide will be huge. Moneys might want to get out of stocks into something different... (<- minor relevance to WO)

I see unrests coming to the western societies when I-thingies get short on supply and hipster fanbois will be forced to sit in Starbucks with their yesteryear I-gadget. (<- j/k - for the Chinese it's a f*cking hard time right now and I feel very sorry for them)

This is the last time I am going to ask about the findings of your bold announcement.
Please either share now your full report or back off from your implied claims that there is something evil hidden in the code.

... these spooks are like cockroaches, they're everywhere. Do we need a bioweapon that targets spooks before we can live free again?

The Washington Post has a very well done article on it. I find it hilarious, wonder what backdoors are in all the "cloud" providers....

This is so old news that you have to dust it off before reading.
Well known since at least the 90s, documented and proofed since the early 2000s.

I take this as a sign that Corona wears off in the news and doesn't create enough clicks for the MSM.

Oh, next we're going to learn that Switzerland has a semi-secret agreement with NATO: Neutral in peace time, member in war times. How useful.

572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How is it possible there are altcoins costing more than BTC? on: February 02, 2020, 11:58:14 AM
I get that coinmarketcap is notorious for listing fake trading volumes, but how these coins became valuable while having practically no market cap is dumbfounding.

Check the colon named "Circulating Supply", there are only 42.42 42 coins in circulation.
That's the reason a single 42 coin is more expensive or valuable than a Bitcoin where roughly 18mio are in circulation.
573  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A case against using Avast on: February 02, 2020, 09:14:27 AM
I see Windows Defender being recommended occasionally here and there.
Make sure you understand that Windows Defender sends links i.e. in email messages that it thinks look suspicious to the cloud for analysis. That means a potentially suspicious looking link that your friend mailed you in private will be fetched and analyzed from an Amazon IP* before you have a chance to click it in the first place.

I am not saying that it is a bad tool - not at all. But it is a true nightmare wrt/ privacy.

*Using the competition in an attempt to confuse the bad guys, smart eh? (Nope, it isn't bc the bad guys are well aware of this)
574  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 31, 2020, 04:15:22 PM

Nope, fucking scary actually.
But it seems not Trezors fault, the STM32 micro misbehaves when it is voltage "glitched".
Basically the device is useless as hardware wallet without replacement, except when the seed is protected by a BIP39 passphrase (which is what Kraken recommends as fix/cure).

^ Krakens blog article is really very detailed and well written. You need only a minimal electronic understanding to reproduce the attack. (<- Meaning the crims will be up to speed quickly).

Did you never wonder why a crypto millionaire (that is somebody having more than $999'999) would need 20'000 from you to invest in a brilliant business idea?
Would you mind naming him/her as it seems from your description it is a public figure in Switzerland?
578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: G3N INFORMATION PLATFORM on: January 30, 2020, 03:19:14 PM

Restarted one of the seed nodes: only inbound connections, no other listening nodes.
..........

start a node with no chain data to see who's listening

Started with listen=0 and indeed there is another listening node.
Though from the seeds in the wallet src none is up at the moment, so you would need

Code:
addnode=73.35.205.20

for new wallets to synch.

579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.10.0 on: January 30, 2020, 02:54:01 PM
Dogecoin takes more time, they understand that others will do the work for them (they are connected to several wallets and
of recognized platform .. Smiley)
The only concern and the lack of information, which does not update, was to be expected, the project was created at the base to make fun of the btc and the developers were all volunteers and worked when they wanted ...
the question I ask myself, those who work, who own dogecoin have in their possession the developers who work freely on this project or even its designer himself: / (it was definitely voluntary but there must be gifts from one way or another: /) and what if it sold everything the next time the BTC took off or before
Well I don't care I play with doge I am not an investor but I still ask myself the question: /

little article from 2 years ago .... (invest to support the rich, not my delirium, if invest for hope an x3 at the next rise of the btc, there's more lucrative and less risky than dogecoin ..) short as usual these my opinion ...

https://www.lefigaro.fr/secteur/high-tech/2018/01/11/32001-20180111ARTFIG00299-le-dogecoin-la-cryptomonnaie-parodique-qui-vaut-plus-d-un-milliard.php

There is a wallet update needed. last 5 years ago. Thats why price currently drops

The last wallet release is from Nov 8, 2019:

psycho... give mea node.... I will try to sync my wallet on VPS.
If I will do it...I will list G3n on cratex exchange...
After this we will have an seed...on my vps and an exchange.
A good start

Restarted one of the seed nodes: only inbound connections, no other listening nodes.
I don't have the resources anymore to run this node for an extended period of time, so within the next days G3N community needs at least one listening node to allow the network to function.

Good luck.
