Это важно жителям диких стран, где энергия дорогая. 5970 тратит 250-300 Вт, а эта железка - всего 20 Вт. Ну и ещё не надо заморачиваться со сборкой минящих компов. даже в диких странах окупаться это будет очень долго… :-\ Нет, порядка одного года ±лапоть. Во-вторых, если сложность будет расти, а курс - отставать, то рано или поздно эти железки станут выгоднее видюх. Интересно вот, есть ли в России желающие купить подобные платы... |

DeepBit: Where are you that you can get $0.03-$0.06 per KwH of electricity? $0.03 was the 2011 price in Khakasia region and Abakan city, most power there is hydroelectric: http://energyfuture.ru/tarify-na-elektroenergiyu-na-2011-god-xakasiya-abakan(That's for single-tariff meters. With two-tariff meters it's $0.01 at night) ~$0.06 is the average price for 1 kW*h in flats with electric cooking ovens installed and multi-tariff electric meters in Moscow, Russia. Currently I'm not there, but I know the rates. Also, I'm sure that there are regions with even cheaper power. And power can be "free" if you can steal it, which is popular is some places. |

Power costs are only at 5% mining on a gpu right now FAIL. (and BTW i have >10GH/s of GPU and 0 GH/s of FPGA right now) It's almost not fail. Power cost is less than $0.06 in Russia, down to $0.03 in some other cities/countries with cheap power, so there is still room for effective GPU generation, especially with good USD/BTC rate, even without "stealing" power. (Fun fact: power cost directly at russian hydroelectric plants is somewhere near $0.0024 per kW*h, but it's hard to get for private buyers) Well even at $0.03 which is a minority of users power is STILL more than 5%. Take 5970. $300 capital cost 250W over 3 years = 250/1000 *24 * 365 * 3 = 6570 kWh @ $0.03 per kWh = $197.10 Thus even @ 3 cents per kWh and an efficient card electricity is more like 40%. Under any more "normal" scenario (less efficient card and higher electrical rate) electricity makes up a greater %. Why calculate power cost as part of the device ? Let's try other way: 5970 is generating somewhere near 0.52+ BTC daily, ~16 BTC per month, which is $111.5 If it's eating 250W, then it's 183 kW*h per month, $5.49 at 0.03 or $10.98 at 0.06 So it's 4.9% to 9.8% of income, exactly like he said. Where is my mistake ? |

Или же пополнять таким образом свой счет на бирже-обменнике в "рублях" (как счет в любом провайдере, спутниковом телевидении и т.п. небанковских вещах), а там уже покупать биткойн. Для этого обменник должен существовать юридически же ? |

Это из-за того, что биткоин как таковой юридически валютой не является или есть что-то ещё? Из-за того, что он лежит слишком далеко от всего того, что может знать закон. Даже если считать его валютой, то тогда возникнут вопросы: 1) Какой банк осуществляет обмен ? 2) Если это обмен валюты - то где, кто и когда выдаёт купленную валюту ? Если же это не обмен валюты, а пополнение счёта - то что это за счёт и какая организация его ведёт ? Я бы мог предположить некий альтернативный вариант на костылях - через терминалы типа Киви продавать игровую валюту в некоторой ММОРПГ, из которой эту валюту можно вывести в виде биткойнов. Что-то вроде того, как пополняются игровые валюты вконтакта и тому подобных вещей - как-то же они это делают. А уж вывод из игры лежит вне юридической плоскости. |

I've looked through our source code, and at some point we switched to shorter timeouts for the longpolls. They're now every 120 seconds, which means that that timeout is indeed what diablominer is reporting. Therefore what you see is expected behavior Why would you want to make such short LP timeouts ? It should be more than 600 seconds (or longer) for best efficiency. |

share can be rejected for one of three reasons
a) it is junk. hardware failure resulted in "wrong answer". the hash provided isn't produced from the data
b) it is for the wrong pool. can happen w/ errors in backup pools. You send backup pool hash to main pool
c) it is stale. block has changed so that data is worthless d) this share was already sent by you or another miner of same pool |

I think 28nm Artix-7 FPGA's will be available in a year or so. It will be too late. Too late for what? This depends of difficulty, of course, but sometimes by mining with current "less efficient" FPGA miners you can get more profit comparing to better 28 nm FPGA with 1 year delay before start. |
