561  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Asset Exchange Marketplace + Rewritable Options Trading on: July 24, 2013, 11:29:05 PM
BTCT.CO has recently announced that the SEC charges against PirateAt40 have them rethinking offering securities and investments to US customers.  How does this recent turn of events affect Bitfunder, if at all?  I understand Bitfunder and WeExchange.co are not US entities, however the US does kind of bully other countries into submission sometimes.  Any statement from you Ukyo?  Too soon to tell?  Bitfunder not affected?
562  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Bicknellski K1 Nano USA group buy interest on: July 24, 2013, 02:26:04 PM
It looks like so far, if we can hit the price point of $50 (before shipping and escrow), we've got between 27 and 32 possible units in our group buy.

I'm in discussion with Bicknellski to see what we can do if we have 100 units.  I'll let you know as it unfolds.

If we can get to $50, would that increase interest?
563  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Bicknellski K1 Nano USA group buy interest on: July 23, 2013, 10:02:14 PM
I vaguely remember Bicknellski saying something about large buy orders talking to him about pricing; so maybe if we get enough interest we could approach a number resembling $50, but that's completely up to Bicknellski, and honestly I don't think $70 is a bad price.

I'll reach out to him and see what he says.

I would do 2 to play around with.  Smiley

That makes 5.  Progress! Smiley
565  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Bicknellski K1 Nano USA group buy interest on: July 23, 2013, 09:13:45 PM
If the Group Buy goes forward, the best I can assume, that these will be delivered in late September/October timeframe ?

From Bicknellski's thread:

There seems to be a small window of opportunity to provide K1s from August to the end of September given the market forces pushing on bitcoin currently

Would be nice to get in at the end of August, and hopefully receive by late August/Early September.

Hi Big Ben,

Where are you shipping from?

I'm in Virginia.

Looking for interest in a group buy for these little guys: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=261140.msg2786824#msg2786824

568  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Bicknellski K1 Nano USA group buy interest on: July 23, 2013, 03:03:58 PM
I've got a friend IRL who is willing to put in for one, so that makes 3 vouched for for purchase.  45 to go! Smiley
569  Bitcoin / Group buys / Bicknellski K1 Nano USA group buy interest on: July 23, 2013, 01:01:02 PM
So I'd like to gauge interest in doing a group buy for Bicknellski's K1 Nano.

Here's the order page:
https://bigpicturemining.com/klondike-miner/k1-nano

Here's the bitcointalk thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=251831.msg2674532#msg2674532

Notice on the order page that if 50 or more are ordered, the price is $65.

If we can get 50 Nanos ordered, I'd buy 2 myself, and would ask for 2 as part of organizing the group buy.

At $65 per, the total order would be $3250.  Divided by 48 would be $67.71.  Shipping would be by USPS First class (unless otherwise requested)

Shipping would be 83.61 from Bicknellski to me with a handling fee of $4.95; so that would bring the total to $69.55 each before escrow and shipping to you. (which is better than ASICMiner block erupter).

Willing to do escrow with John K if he's willing, and would price his fee into the purchase price.

To re-iterate; I'm just looking for interest.  If enough people want to do this then I'll create another thread for the group buy.

Give it a bit.  Calculating everyone's reward takes time.  Start worrying when it hits 60 confirmations.
571  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Ukyo.Loan - Paying 0.05% daily. on: July 22, 2013, 08:29:00 PM
That makes sense, and is in line with what I figured.
572  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy#1] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as escrow! FINISHED! on: July 22, 2013, 08:28:03 PM
Sigh. I was planning on using NEO-ASICS for assembly. Can anyone point me to the current best option to get in line for US assembly? We need to make sure the chips get delivered to a verified address, that seems to be the top priority right now.

I'm now planning to use steamboat's assembly and fervently hoping that Raging still delivers chips instead of just disappearing into the ether.
573  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Ukyo.Loan - Paying 0.05% daily. on: July 22, 2013, 06:46:41 PM
Makes sense.  I sent a message to Ukyo via BitcoinTalk PM yesterday but have yet to receive a reply back.  I'm going to request a redemption and I assume that is done by contacting Ukyo.  Can someone confirm that PM'ing Ukyo on BitcoinTalk is the procedure for starting the redemption process?  It doesn't specify exactly who to contact and how.

I actually wondered about this; if I put my shares up for sale at the same price as Ukyo (with a much lower quantity, obviously), would my shares be sold first or would Ukyo's?  I'm curious how the order book entries on Bitfunder are prioritized if price is equal.
574  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy#1] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as escrow! FINISHED! on: July 22, 2013, 04:07:58 PM
So...

We've got an unresponsive group buy leader, whose sample chips still haven't arrived (even though other group buys have had sample chips for weeks), who was supposed to be running an assembly service whose website account is now suspended, who is moving to a new location of which the escrow service is unaware.

Tell me again why I shouldn't be a little sketched out?

Anything below 90C is fine for ATI chips.  95C is where I start worrying.

I aim for 85 as a top so I have a little wiggle room in case something happens to one of the case fans.  90 just makes me nervous.
576  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy#1] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as escrow! FINISHED! on: July 20, 2013, 04:13:02 PM
I'm starting to get a little nervous about this.

Raging did you get the sample chips out of customs? Is Neo-ASICs still on, or is that venture dead?

Raging, we need you to update this thread regularly. You told us that this group buy was supposed to be a way for you to re-establish credibility.

I didn't realize his credibility was ever questioned.
577  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy#1] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as escrow! FINISHED! on: July 20, 2013, 11:57:37 AM
Website not as interesting as updates on the developer chips... still in limbo? And any news on our orders.

Agreed; but the combination of no updates + suspended website that was destined to be our order site is starting to make me consider selling my chips from this group buy.
578  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [12000 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + UserDiff; ASIC tested on: July 20, 2013, 11:43:42 AM
I'm so glad this thread is here; I was panicking thinking the problem was my connection.
579  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy#1] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as escrow! FINISHED! on: July 20, 2013, 03:01:14 AM

Well that's certainly not encouraging.

(For those who didn't click through, neo-asics.com shows an "account has been suspended" page).   Undecided

Awesome Sauce

We are addressing these issues with a lawyer and still in discussion about FinCEN registration and compliance. We are working with Marco Santori (an interview of him can be found here Bitcoin Magazine - Manhattan Law Firm Embraces the Bitcoin Currency)

Superb.  Thanks for the update.
